• Two Laws But then comes the wonderful TRUTH of Romans chapter 6 – identification. Because we are in Christ, we are not subject to the law of sin and death. Because we are in Christ, we are subject to the law of life and liberty in Christ. One saint of God describes it in these terms… He has put our old man – our original self – where He put our sins… namely, on the cross with Christ.

• He talks of God's gracious offer of salvation and walks us through the treasures of justification and sanctification, election and adoption, and he opens up the wonderful identification truths where Christ's resurrected life is imparted to us and we are positioned in Him.

• No surprise that the disciples could not bear these identification truths at that time for like us, they had to discover the inability of the old self life and that only the new life in Christ, which we all receive at Salvation can live a godly life.

• There is no need to have confidence in any physical, fleshly identification with Israel, for we have been spiritually identified with Christ Himself and are ONE with Him.Praise God that Gentiles, together with 'the Israel of God' (believing Jews) have been united into ONE BODY in Christ and together are designated 'the True Circumcision' of God.

• Our positional identification and progressive sanctification with the Lord Jesus will be completed, we will be perfected, and He has promised, I will write on him the name of My God, and the name of the city of My God, the new Jerusalem.

• Whatever Christ's baptism signified - whether it was His identification with sinners for whom He was to be the substitute, an act of obedience to His Father in order to fulfil the righteous requirements of the Law, a presentation of Himself as the Messiah of Israel and Lamb of God Who takes away the sin of the world, an act of dedication to His God and Father, or simply a picture of His forthcoming death and Resurrection - we know that in the days of John the Baptist's ministry - Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee, and was baptised by John in the Jordan.

• But sadly, the truth of Christ's identification with us and our identification with Him is often ignored, missed, or completely misunderstood.

• But God not only sealed us, but gave us an actual pledge to validate His unbreakable Word: He sent the Holy Spirit of promise into our hearts as a stamp of His identification with us, to ratify (or to endorse) His seal of ownership on our lives.

• May we never allow the joy of our great salvation, our identification with Christ, and the astonishing privileges, position, and promises we possess through faith in Him, to become commonplace in life.

• Christ died for our sins as our substitute (substitution), but He also died unto sin by breaking the power of sin over us (identification).

• It is our identification with Christ and His finished work by FAITH, that causes us to be overcomers.

• It means identification with something else.
• They were all identified/ baptised into Moses, IN the Cloud and IN the Sea.  Israel needed a DOUBLE identification.
• FIRST: identification with Moses, who brought them out of Egypt and SECOND: identification with Christ Who would pay the price for their sin.

• Paul explains the wonder of our identification with Christ and His precious identification with us.For if we are become identified with Him in the likeness of His death, so also we shall be identified with His glorious resurrection. Paul then expounds God's wisdom in setting aside the nation of Israel for a season and His ultimate will and purpose as it relates to both Israel and the Church, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fulness of the Gentiles is brought in. 

• Identification with Christ means suffering in this life, but in the world to come, life everlasting.

• And the beautiful truth of our extraordinary position in Christ, and our identification with Him is that, I can do all things through Christ, Who strengthens me.

• Identification with Christ is not the privilege of all.

• Because we are saved by grace through faith, we are identified with JESUS and so we receive the benefit of identification with Jesus.

• Indeed, so close is our identification with our Saviour that His death to sin and His death to the Law became our death to sin and our death to the Law, for there is NO condemnation to those that are in Christ Jesus.

• But perhaps Christ's identification with a race of sinners can be considered, by all Who have trusted Him as Saviour, to be the most poignant aspect of this fulfilment of all righteousness.

• Because of their new birth and position in Christ, their future inheritance, their identification with Christ's holiness, and their Christian standing in the community, these elders in the Church are exhorted by Peter to take care of their brothers and sisters in Christ.

• Death to self, persevering in prayer, identification with Christ's suffering, and a life of sacrifice for the glory of God, has been replaced with enjoying your best life now, living for self, and making great spiritual proclamations and positive confessions (where self-incited 'faith' becomes a force that creates one's own reality, or commands God to carry out everything that you speak forth!!) This is not biblical Christianity.

• Identification with Christ's death is the most thrilling doctrine for the believer.
• Because of the death of Christ and our identification with His death, sin no longer remains our master.
• And praise God that identification with Christ means we can look forward to eternal life in a glorified body which is freed from the power of sin and death and hell, and we will live with Him through time and into the eternal, never-ending ages that are to come. 
• Praise God that the certain consequence of our identification with Christ's death and Resurrection by faith is our full and final sanctification: spirit, soul, and body. 

• Our identification with Christ's death, burial, and Resurrection not only paid the penalty for our sin, but has also severed us from our relationship with Adam It has transferred us from Adam's fallen, sinful race, where we were imputed with sin, into Christ's new, perfected race, where we are imputed with Christ's righteousness. 

• He reminds us that because of our identification with Christ's death, burial, and Resurrection, we have won the victory.

• The second witness to His authority and authenticity were His marvellous miracles, which were prophesied of old as the identification credentials of the Jewish Messiah.

• It is God Who confirmed Paul's position in Christ, and the same God confirms our own identification with our heavenly Saviour.

• It is only by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and our identification with HIM that we can be declared righteous by God and have the righteousness of Christ imputed to us.

• Believers are to rest in the glorious Biblical fact of our identification with Christ Who is God's representative Man, Who set us free from the power of sin over our lives.
• Our identification with Christ's death freed us from sin; death; the curse of the Law; the power of Satan and the influence of the world.

• In the midst of the assembly, I will praise You.  This Messianic prophecy, penned by David, was beautifully fulfilled by Christ through His death, burial, resurrection, ascension, and identification with all who believe on His name.

• As Christians, our identification with Christ's Resurrection is the absolute assurance that we who have been saved by grace through faith in Him, will likewise be raised from the dead into newness of life - for we are saved... spirit, soul, and body, and we will have resurrection bodies like unto His glorious body.
