God’s Anointed

The Lord Jesus is the Messiah of God – God’s anointed; His appointed; His chosen. He was ordained of God and all things in heaven and earth are placed under His feet. The Lord Jesus Christ is the foundation and focus of all that God has ordained. The Lord Jesus Christ is the centre and circumference of all that God has purposed, and God has fixed Christ Jesus as the horizon of our view – the sphere of our being.

God’s Glory

He encompasses all that God has ordered and ordained within His entire creation. He is over and above all things. He underpins all things. He holds all things together.. and He is the reflection of God’s glory and the exact likeness of His being.

God’s Son

Christ stretches back into the far reaches of eternity past, before the world began. Christ reaches forward into the distant ages that are to abide in God’s forever-future. He extends out into the farthest expanse of the unknown and unexplainable universe. He reaches into throne-room of heaven, yet bends down to touch all things on earth. He delves into the deepest; most intimate and secret areas of our very beings. The Lord Jesus is indeed God’s chosen – His anointed; His appointed; His Son.

Unique Man

He is unique and exclusive for none are like Him, and none can compare with Him. He is distinct and inclusive for God decrees that all things are for Him and in Him. All was created BY Him; all was created FOR Him and all was created IN Him. For by Him all things in heaven and on earth were created, things visible and invisible, whether they are kings, lords, rulers, or powers. All things have been created through Him and for Him. Colossians 1:16 – and by Him all things are upheld, by the power of His mighty arm.

God’s Messiah

I wonder what impact this fact has on you – or if familiarity has diminished its truth. I wonder if any of us have honesty trawled the depth of exactly Who this Jesus is. I wonder if we’ve seriously considered how we should live in the light of this truth, but we would do well to develop an apprehension and understanding of Who He is. The Lord Jesus is the Messiah of God – His anointed; His appointed; His chosen. He was ordained of God and all things in heaven and in earth are placed under His feet.

Union With Christ

As Christians, we are rightly related to the Lord Jesus – through believing in Him. And we are in union with Christ – for we are saved by grace through faith in Him. We have entered a glorious state and are seated in heavenly places – in Christ,  and the present work of the Spirit in us, is to conform us into the likeness of Christ.

Representative Man

God has set-up the Lord Jesus as our representative man – He is God’s standard for mankind. Jesus Christ is appointed as our set norm – the perfect pattern for all of humanity. The likeness of Christ is to become the established and universal guideline for man.

Foundation and Focus

All that are in Christ will take on His perfect character, for we will be like Him, and God’s ultimate plan is that humanity is a manifestation of His beloved Son. He will be preeminent in all – and all will be summed-up in His wonderful person. The Lord Jesus Christ is the foundation and focus of all that God has ordained – and we would do well to receive a fresh understanding of Who He truly is.

Centre and Circumference

The Lord Jesus Christ is the centre and circumference of all that God has purposed, and we would do well to learn more of Him and to go deeper into Him – for God has foreordained that we are to be conformed into His likeness.  And He is the reflection of God’s glory and the exact likeness of God’s Being, and He holds everything together by the might of His powerful word.
