The fellowship of His sufferings.

It is enough for a disciple that he be like his teacher, and a servant like his master.

He is despised and rejected by men, a Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. § In the world you will have tribulation. § Because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.

I looked for someone to take pity, but there was none. § At my first defense no one stood with me, but all forsook me.

Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head. § Here we have no continuing city, but we seek the one to come.

Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
