Verse of the day — John 17:24

"Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.

Exploits for God

The people who know their God shall stand firm and take action. (Daniel 11:32 ESV)

How much do you depend upon conferences and teachers to keep you going? Must you attend meetings just because you feel that the last lot you got has been used up and you must get a fresh supply? Or have you been emancipated from all human props and put into a place of glorious independence, because you KNOW YOUR GOD? It doesn't matter if you are plunged into the middle of the Sahara, you know your God and can stand independently of all natural helps this thing has become YOU! That is the kind of knowledge that means power. That is the kind of experience which overcomes the world. That is the kind of thing that makes all the other systems go down, and you rise triumphantly above them. That was the secret of the apostolic church. Let kings do what they like, let the people rage it goes on, and it is the Roman Empire that goes to pieces before this thing, and not this thing that goes down before the Roman Empire. It is an independent personal knowledge of God, resultant from an inward birth, that lives. Not only an objective truth, but a subjective power, and it is a great day when the slightest fragment of known truth becomes a vital personal experience in its working ability. That is what we want. First-hand knowledge, not second-hand truth.

May God work this into our very beings until it becomes us. Take it in fragments if you like, and ask the Lord to work it out in you and make it live in you.

Behold! The Lamb of God.

It is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sins. Therefore, when He came into the world, He said: “Sacrifice and offering You did not desire, but a body You have prepared for Me. In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin You had no pleasure. Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come– in the volume of the book it is written of Me– to do Your will, O God.” § He was oppressed and He was afflicted, yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so He opened not his mouth.

You were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold … but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot. He indeed was … manifest in these last times for you who through Him believe in God … that your faith and hope are in God.

Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom, and strength and honor and glory and blessing!

I will hope continually, and will praise You yet more and more.

Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected. § Leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God. § The path of the just is like the shining sun, that shines ever brighter unto the perfect day.

I love the Lord, because He has heard My voice and my supplications. Because He has inclined His ear to me, therefore I will call upon Him as long as I live. § I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.

Praise is awaiting You, O God, in Zion. § They do not rest day or night, saying: “Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty.” § Whoever offers praise glorifies me. § Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. § Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!

The Oneness Of Prayer

And we have an assured confidence that whenever we ask anything in accordance with His will, He listens to us" (1 John 5:14, Wey.).

The Christian life is the expression of the Lord Jesus Christ through the believer to men in the world, and in the church. The prayer life is the expression of the Spirit of Christ through the believer to the Father in Heaven. As there is growth in Christ, there will increasingly be prayer in the Spirit (Rom. 8:26).

"Through the Lord Jesus every true believer is united to God in Heaven by a life-link. We are not praying down here on earth to One who is a long way off in Heaven. We are one with Him there and He is one with us here! The devil is all the time trying to create a sense of distance between us and the Lord: but there is no distance between if we abide in Christ, for no one can be closer to the Father than the Son, and we are in Him! -T.L.M.

"Efficacious prayer is to the glory of the Father (John 14:13), in the Name of the Son (John 14:14), and in the enabling power of the Holy Spirit (Rom. 8:26, 27). Compliance with these conditions insures that the human will is in agreement with the divine will. Transforming things, mighty indeed, are wrought by prayer, but only such things as comport with the will and purpose of God." -L.S.C.

"If we want our own way we will find that everything is against us; but if we have chosen that God shall be sovereign in our lives then everything is for us."

"And since we know that He listens to us, then whatever we ask, we know that we have the things which we have asked from Him" (1 John 5:15, Wey.).

Two Tried Ways - Growing In Grace (20)

Growing In Grace - STUDY

Oh foolish Galatians…after starting your Christian lives in the Spirit, why are you now trying to become perfect by your own human effort?
Galatians 3:3

Grace OR Works

Scripture contrasts two ‘ways’ a believer seeks to live the Christian life. Paul outlines both options in his epistle to the Galatians:  1) the grace-promise-faith way and  2) the works-merit-law way. The grace-promise-faith way is 100% achievable and done by God for man. The works-merit-law way is 100% unachievable and done by man for God. There is probably no more important message to the church today than this, for most believers having started their Christian life by grace through faith, revert from grace back to the law, by trying to live their life for God. Blessings abound for those humble enough and courageous enough to seek to live their life the grace-promise-faith way.

Paul’s Challenge

Paul challenges those given initial salvation by grace through faith with these words: are ye so foolish, having begun in the spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?  He is saying, having begun ‘the grace-promise-faith way’ are ye now made perfect by ‘the works-merit-law way?’ Many believers aren’t properly schooled in these two contrasting ways of living the Christian life and fall into the works-merit–law trap.

God’s Way OR Man’s Way

The grace way is sanctification God’s way. The works' way is sanctification man’s way. The grace-promise-faith way is the ‘spiritual’ route. The works-merit -law way is called ‘carnal’, ‘the flesh’ ‘being under law’ etc. Carnality and legalism are often connected with worldly sins, pride, and unbelief, but are also produced by a believer trying hard to please God, but in the wrong way.

Spiritual or Carnal

In reality, carnality and legalism often describe believers who deeply desire to be spiritual, but are trying to please God the ‘works-merit -law’ way. Remember, the flesh lusts against the spirit, and the spirit against the flesh. Within the inner ‘being’ of man are two continuously conflicting camps:- the old sin

His Guiding Hand

The hand of the Lord – His hand hath wrought this.
Job 12:9

They that wait upon the LORD….. shall renew their strength.
Isaiah 40:31

Refining Work

You are being refined – purified in the fires of affliction for His glory. You are being renewed – remade in the likeness of His dear Son, for your benefit, so that Christ is all and in all – in your life. So that Christ is formed in you. The stinging blow that causes nerves to jangle and faith to wince appears an appalling mistake – and the soul cries in agony, “Why Lord Why?”

Food of Faith

God Who chose you from before the foundation of the world knows that such trials are the food of faith. So in everything by prayer and supplication..with thanksgiving – praise Him – and trust Him – and take heart. God loves – God helps – God fights and God wins! God Who knit you together in your mother’s womb scheduled every day of your life. He crafted this, and His hand hath wrought this – for His glory and for your benefit. God delights to exercise our faith in life, and His purposes span the ages to come. God crafts our pains and disappointments into jewels of silver and jewels of gold.

Trusting Soul

We need to trust Him in all things.. even when we don’t understand, knowing that in Him all things work together for good – for whom? for those that that love Him.. for those who are fitting into His purpose. Rom.8:28 God delights to exercise our faith, knowing that this is to the saving of the soul. This is not the salvation we already have as born again believers. It’s the maturing of the saints who, through patient endurance, mature in the faith.. for if we suffer with Him – if we patiently endure, we will reign with Him.. and desires you to be an overcomer – and to overcome in all things – even this!

Waiting Heart

Don’t rush out and try to rectify what you perceive as a
