For it is God Himself whose power creates within you the desire to do His gracious will and also brings about the accomplishment of the desire (Phil. 2:13, Wey.).
They cannot understand that it is not to the law, but to a living Person, that we are now bound, and that our obedience and growth are only possible by the unceasing faith in His power and life ever working in us (Phil. 2:13). -A.M.
But when it is known that God's standard for us is His Son, all expectation of maturity must be placed in Him - for it is God which worketh in us both to will and to do of His good pleasure (Phil. 2:13).
