• but God can correct decades of dormant growth and fleshly independence, in the one that seeks Him with a surrendered heart of genuine humility.

• It requires humility of heart toward God to realize we’ve misrepresented Him for so long.

• Truth of God Recently as I ‘happened’ across this short video. In it there are 0ne hundred names of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. One Hundred examples of the truth of Who God undeniably is. If we were to take just ONE name each day and prayerfully focus on that truth… if we were to reflect on ONE attribute daily – in gratitude, honour praise and thanksgiving…  if we were to meditate on ONE characteristic each day – in deepest humility of heart, I believe any and all of our distortions would be replaced with a deeper knowledge and understanding of Him.

• Our personal attraction and intellectual prowess are of no consequence. Our intrinsic strength and tutored training are of no account to God. Our innate charisma and magnetic allure is petty insignificance to Him. Our inherent talents and engaging disposition have no value. Our instinctive wisdom and intuitive capabilities are meaningless vomit. Until we finally see ourselves through His eyes, we live in an illusion. Until the Spirit strips us naked, we remain deluded – even in our perceived ‘humility’.
• as well as all the evil – as well as every last, lingering, little, lustful leaning... Until we stop relying on our natural wit and natural wisdom, and see it for what it is… Until we can stop pretending and face the truth and seek the Spirit's surgical sword... • It is even so with our humility.
• It is easy to think ourselves humble before God… and yet humility towards men, will be insufficient proof that our humility before God is real.
• Christlikeness Christlikeness is the only proof that humility has taken up its abode in us.

• Insignificant Arrival Christ’s own humility can be witnessed in His insignificant arrival on earth for He emptied Himself of the eternal glory He shared with the Father and came to earth as a helpless babe with nowhere to lay His head but a feeding trough in a borrowed cave. The shepherds instant obedience to the angelic message can be identified through the haste with which they sped to Bethlehem, to see the thing that had come to pass. But the gospel was not for them only – but a message of hope and joy to all people.

• Doubts are not marks of humility; unbelief is really evidence of pride.

• As we read through Scripture, we discover one here and we find another there… But in the fulness of time God sent His only Son in the form of man, in Whom would dwell all the godly attributes of Deity bodily – for He is the ultimate Man of faith and virtue, the perfect Man of prayer and praise, the godly Man of wisdom and worship, the loving Man of obedience and humility, the gracious Man so beloved of the Father, Who was chosen to be our Saviour for He is the true Man after God’s own heart.

• We are to have humility of mind, a sound mind, and a secure mind in Christ.

• God’s Purpose In Christ There is no 12-step program that can effect this transformation – only a life of humility, submitted to the leading of the Holy Spirit..

• Humility and Grace It is such a heart that he dresses with humility and grace., not to shatter into despair, but to melt and remake into a heart like unto His heart.

• Meaning of Poverty ‘Poor in spirit’ does not mean lacking in earthly conditions or worldly wealth, for a destitute man may display much pride – an affluent one humility of heart.
• Humility is not thinking meanly of oneself nor is it berating oneself in front of others – indeed this can often lead to inverted pride – as others counter your self-reproach!
• But humility of heart involves a dying to self and a living to Christ…
• Gentility of Heart Humility is it holding one's talents, gifts, aptitudes, or artistry as little or no account, but it is letting Him work through us, to His praise and glory.
• and we are to put self of the altar of sacrifice by saying, ‘not my will but Thine be done.’ Oh yes, humility is a gentility of spirit, which bows reverently before the Lord.
• Christ’s Humility Only once did Jesus refer to His own deep humility of heart and poverty of spirit, when He said: “I am meek and lowly in heart” Matt.11:29 But throughout His earthly journey, in action and attitude, humility streamed forth.
• Christ’s Beatitude Humility of heart and poverty of spirit is the first of all Christ’s beatitudes.
• Poverty of spirit and humility of heart is the first grace proclaimed in His sermon, and one by one humility bubbles and streams through each subsequent blessing – as beatitude by beatitude, you can trace this thread of Godly grace: “Blessed are they that mourn…”   “Blessed are the meek …”   “Blessed are pure in heart..”  Blessed are they that mourn... “Blessed are those that hunger after His righteousness ..”
• Humble Yourself And throughout Scripture, it is the meek and humble that delight the heart of God… for pride is always brought low, before humility is lifted high.
• True Humility Poverty of spirit and humility of heart is a key that opens the gate to God’s grace. Poverty of spirit and humility of heart is what God seeks in each of His own.
• Spurgeon reminds us: True humility is a flower which will adorn any garden.

• He removes our personal patience, love, power, gentleness, humility.
• So it is with humility and the rest: not a power but a Person.

• Beware – Consider Beware of false doctrine – wolves that come to you in sheep’s clothing. Recognise the increase of the doctrines of demons prevalent in the church today. Magnify the Lord with me and let us exult His name together. Consider humility.

• Channels of Blessing And He uses you and He uses me to be channels of blessing, through whom His living waters may flow, if we, in deep humility, will empty ourselves of king self; if we, in self-brokenness, will invite Him to reign as supreme ruler in our lives.

• Attitude of Humility So what is godliness and what does it mean to live godly in Christ Jesus?

• Succinct Outline Metcalf gives a succinct outline of the problem and the solution – he writes:- The modern teaching of consecration, which is tantamount to the consecration of the ‘old man,’ seeks to bypass the death sentence and, and therefore, only leads to frustration and failure. When, however, you and I are prepared, in simple humility, to make the FACT of our death with Christ our daily basis of life and service, there is nothing that can prevent the uprising and outflow of the new life in Christ, and meet the need of thirsty souls around us.

• When we are conscious of pride we fancy that humility will meet our need, but the answer to pride is not humility, it is the Lord Jesus, and He is the answer to every need.
• The Father will not give you humility or patience or love as separate gifts of grace; He has given you the Lord Jesus, and if you simply trust Him to live out His life in you, He will be humble, patient, loving and everything else you need.

• Humility is the hallmark of the servant resting in, and sent from, the Father's presence.

• But though he instructs young men to be subject to those that are older in years and spiritual maturity, he calls ALL believers to clothe themselves with humility towards one another, explaining that God resists those that are proud but gives grace to those that are humble in action and attitude.
• But Peter had also come to terms with the need for humility of heart and meekness of spirit, and so he calls both elders and young men to cloth themselves with humility towards one another, because God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.

• A soul that has a reverential fear of the Lord and a heart that trusts in His unfailing Word gains wisdom and well-being, but humility must come before honour is bestowed.

• But we are instructed to do nothing from selfish ambition, nor should we be motivated to impress others, but in gentle humility of heart we are to count other's interests and needs as more significant than our own - that our joy may be complete.

• May we, like David, in humility of heart, sanctify the words of our mouth, the meditation of our heart, the thoughts of our minds, and the motives of our inner being so that all we say and all we do, will be pleasing and acceptable in the sight of our precious Lord and Saviour.

• Religious men often seek to worship God through symbolic acts, man-made rituals, fleshly works, or emotional outbursts, but God desires a worshipful heart that is clean before Him, dependent upon Him, submissive to Him, and full of humility and grace.

• We should do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but rather we should value others above ourselves and in humility of mind, we should regard one another as more important than ourselves, to His glory.

• No matter what status or position we hold, at home or abroad, we are to do everything with dignity, humility, and to the glory of God knowing that from the Lord we will receive the reward of the inheritance, because the Lord Christ is the One Whom we serve.

• Esther is identified as a woman of courage and humility, with many additional qualities and attributes.

• Little did Hezekiah know that in the final years of his life he would sire the wicked king Manasseh, who did such evil in the sight of the Lord and who caused Israel’s final downfall.Let us in humility of heart fly to the Lord for all our needs and trust in the Lord with all our hearts and lean not to our own understanding.

• It demonstrates the value we gain when we protect our personal communion with the Lord through righteous living and humility of heart.

• Our whole approach to God in our prayer-life should be one of reverence and thankfulness, humility, trust, and love.

• He knows that unless our Christian life produces the fruit of the Spirit; long-suffering, patience, love, and joy, as well as humility, goodness, kindness, and self-control, it will profit us nothing and will not glorify our Father, Who is in heaven.

• What godly lives we would live if it were not for the foibles of others!But this life is fraught with disappointments and disturbances and we are warned that murmuring is the consequence of unbelief, while disputing is the product of a discontented heart which brings in its wake grievances, disease, envy, and sin, as exemplified in Israel’s forty-year long wilderness wanderings when the people murmured against God's wisdom and complained about His gracious provision.God, in His wisdom, knows that patient-endurance, humility of heart, and a soul that trusts in the Lord, does not spring forth from a stress-free life but is the out-working of a man or woman who has received God’s sufficient grace to face any temptation or trial which may happen along the way.Paul knew that a Christ-like character is not birthed from a bed of ease and that blameless integrity and spiritual maturity takes many long years, if not a lifetime, to fully develop as one is tried like silver or honed in a millstone of suffering. God uses the storms, sadness, disappointments, and dangers of everyday life, as well as the difficult people that cross our path, to conform us into the likeness of Christ.Let us, therefore, resist the temptation to enter into murmurings and disputes with one another and let us trust the Lord in all things so that our lives will be a living sacrifice that becomes, to Him, a sweet fragrance and we will become blameless and pure children of God, without fault in this warped and crooked generation.

• Let us seek to keep away from contention, factions, strife, and selfishness which are so often birthed from pride, conceit, arrogance, or ignorance, and let us live a spirit of lowly humility where we regard the needs of others as more important than our own.

• Through his epistle, the apostle James is seeking to direct us in the way of wisdom and peace, together with humility, goodness, and grace, whilst he desires to warn us against foolishness and hostility, selfish ambition, and every evil thing.

• We should demonstrate genuine humility of heart and a gentleness of spirit.
• When we are walking worthy of our calling and demonstrating genuine humility of heart that comes from the Spirit of God, we will apply the Word of God in our lives, we will put on the New Man, and use our spiritual gifts and graces wisely and in line with Scripture.

• We are to walk in unity of spirit and humility of heart... with gentleness and patience.

• It means doing nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but rather, in humility of heart, valuing each other above ourselves.
• Humility of spirit, gentleness of disposition, love for each other, and joy in the Lord, are all fruits of the Spirit which burst forth in a life that is centred in Christ.
• And as we know Christ more intimately, may we love others more deeply and, with humility of heart, value others above ourselves.

• John the Baptist demonstrated humility of heart when he cried out, He must increase and I must decrease, and in like manner, we should all be ready and willing to carry out this conditional directive from James: If we humble ourselves in the presence of the Lord, He will lift us up and exalt us.
• He lists a series of commands that will not only keep us in close fellowship with God, but encourages us towards humility of heart and gentleness of spirit.
• Humility is a fruit of the Spirit that should be exhibited in every life that lives godly in Christ Jesus, but there is much misunderstanding about biblical humility and what it means to humble one's self before the Lord.
• Humility is not disliking who you are or demeaning yourself in front of others.
• Humility is not generated by human effort or manufactured by emotions.
• True humility is a fruit of the Spirit that buds and blossoms in the heart of someone who is submitted to God, walking in spirit and truth, growing in grace, and maturing in the Christian faith. 

• He set aside His heavenly garments of glory and dressed Himself in lowly humanity, in selfless humility, and gracious condescension, and He did it for our sake.

• Let us not quench the purifying work of the Spirit in our lives, but rather let us surrender in humility of heart and permit Him to guide us into all truth, through the washing of the water with the Word of God, for all Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.

• May we who are already born from above remain in a state of godly humility and grieve over the hardness of sinners who stand guilty before our gracious and merciful God, and may we ever seek to walk before Him in spirit and in truth. 

• May the Word of Christ dwell in us richly, in all wisdom and teaching as we serve Him with a teachable spirit and in humility of heart.

• It takes humility of heart and faith in God for a sick person to admit their own limitation and to cry out for help to those in church leadership.

• May we in humility of heart and gentleness of spirit, thirst and keep on thirsting for God, for the more deeply we sense our need of the Lord Jesus, the more passionately we will pursue the Living Waters of life.

• He urges us to bless those that curse us, have godly empathy towards those that are both joyful and sorrowful and exhorts all believers to be like-minded; demonstrating humility while abhorring any aspects of social bias or bigoted favouritism.

• May we give or receive correction out of much heart-anguish for the other, and a deep desire to walk in humility of spirit and in the way of truth.

• He not only showed compassion for his slave but also approached the Lord Jesus with great humility and a faith in the Lord Jesus that was sadly lacking in Israel.

• May we look to Jesus with childlike faith, humility of heart, simplicity of spirit, and total trust in our heavenly Saviour.

• Should we not... in astonished wonder, deep humility, and reverent praise, behold the matchless love and compassionate grace that has been poured out by the Father in such generous abundance on us - even making us His children simply because we have trusted the Lord Jesus as Saviour?

• We are not to guess how we should live, but are taught in this passage (and elsewhere) that we should act towards one another in humility of heart and with a gentle and patient spirit. We are to demonstrate tolerance and lowliness of mind to one another, and to do it in godly love.

• A Lamb not only represents humility and gentleness, but also sacrificial love.

• Faith comes by hearing and the blind man's cry for mercy demonstrated an attitude of trust, humility, and dependence.

• They demonstrate a gracious humility rather than egocentric pride and become increasingly interested in what they can learn rather than trumpeting what they already know.
• We can turn our ear to seeking knowledge and can develop humility of heart pursuing the path of prudence and seeking after that which is more valuable than gold and will last throughout life and into eternity.

• But it is those with poverty of spirit, humility of heart, and a childlike faith in Him, that can approach His throne of grace, with a simplicity that is so precious to our Lord.

• Nothing is more thrilling for a Christian parent, or a believer who has been influential in pointing one younger in the faith to the truth of the gospel, than to see them living according to the truth, walking in fellowship with the Lord Jesus, living in submission to the Holy Spirit's guiding hand, living under the influence of the new man in Christ (and not the old sin nature), and reflecting the grace, truth, love, and humility that flows to them from their Saviour. 

• Humility should replace any double-minded hypocrisy or attempts to justify our sin.

• We are warned against false humility and paying homage to angelic beings.

• It appears to be God's will that Christ did not begin His ministry in earnest until John was removed from the scene... for like each one of us... Jesus had to learn humility and obedience by the things that He suffered - and no doubt, the unjust arrest and cruel execution of His faithful forerunner must have caused our Saviour much heartache.

• We are to knock with confidence and humility even when life's circumstances seem to test our faith and sap our strength.

• He instructs them to be subject to those that are older in the faith, and to clothe yourselves with humility toward one another.
• Training in righteousness, the development of a spirit of humility, and growing in grace takes time - more time - and much time to develop.
• Humility contributes to fellowship where peace and graciousness prevails, while pride is a destructive attitude that can disrupt the communion of believers and fosters a discourteous attitude, causing division among brethren.
• But humility is not only a great grace that needs to be developed in those that are young in years or young in the faith, humility is a fruit of the Spirit that should be the goal of all Christian men and women, however mature in the faith they have become, or however young they are in the Christian life, for God gives grace to the humble as well as wisdom, faith, understanding, and holiness, but He resists and opposes all those that are proud.
• A spirit of humility is pleasing to the Father, for it is the spirit that is so representative of the Lord Jesus Christ.

• He came to fulfil the righteous requirement of God's Law so that we would not remain under condemnation but be raised up into newness of eternal life.It is with a heart of humility, a spirit of purity, an unblemished conscience, and in full assurance of our hope in Christ, that we have confidence in this glorious invitation to draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.We have been purchased with the precious blood of Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God Who was slain from the foundation of the world.

• The Lord Jesus was sent by God to be the suffering Servant for the sin of mankind, and throughout His earthly life He became the perfect example of dignity, greatness, humility, and gracious service.
• And so it was that the Lord Jesus Himself quietly got up from the table and proceeded to carry out this menial task to the utter astonishment and shamefaced mortification of everyone present, demonstrating the perfect example of dignity, greatness, humility, grace, and service to others.
• May we seek to live a life of dignity, greatness, humility, grace, and service to others, as we die to our own self-importance and self-interest and seek to be more Christ-like, knowing that He came amongst us as one Who serves, to the glory of God the Father.

• Nebuchadnezzar, Pharaoh, and Sennacherib, are reminders to Israel of their rebelliousness toward God, and serve as reminders to nurture humility of heart, as the graciousness of God is beautifully revealed through His promise of redemption, causing His people to offer praise and thanksgiving for the mighty miracles He has performed towards them.

• Should we not in humility of heart and poverty of spirit accept God's gracious free gift of salvation?

• Let us like Ruth, in humility of heart and self-confessed love and devotion for him, follow after the perfect Kinsman-Redeemer Who loved us so much that He gave Himself for us.

• But although we are called to put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, and long-suffering, where gracious consideration and genuine forgiveness of others are identified as vital qualities of the believer, it is love ruling the heart and peace protecting the soul that is given the main emphasis here: But above ALL, put on love which binds these things together the unity of the Spirit, and let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful.

• The Holy Spirit of God longs to shower grace and more grace over all that submit to His leading in humility of heart.
• Let us expel all pride and ungodly lusts that can creep into a heart that becomes enamoured with the lust of the flesh, the lust of the world, and the pride of life, and let us in humility of spirit earnestly draw near to God, knowing that He died to draw near to us.

• May we have the humility of heart and a teachable spirit that is ready and willing to listen to His voice, trust His Word, obey His command, and do only those things that honour His name.

• He reminded them that from the time he first set foot in Asia, he stayed with them and served the Lord with humility of heart.

• Seek after righteousness and humility of heart, was the prophets urgent pleading, and perhaps you will be hidden in the day of the Lord's anger.
• Although the One-New-Man-In-Christ and the Rapture of the Church was a mystery that was hidden from Old Testament prophets and pre-Cross generations of believers, and although it was revealed to Church-age saints through the apostle Paul, there has always been a small remnant of Jewish believers in the Messiah in every generation, a tiny remnant of Israel who have sought the Lord in humility of heart, carried out His ordinances, and trusted His Word - because the Word of God has decreed it to be so.

• Let us treasure the things of the Lord, and unrelentingly pursue after righteousness and godliness, faith and love, perseverance and gentleness, humility of heart and joy in the Lord, for when our treasure is rooted and grounded in Jesus, then our heart will be anchored to the Rock of our eternal salvation.

• Let no one keep on defrauding you of your glorious prize by delighting in self-abasement, false humility or giving undue honour to angelic beings, Paul cautions the Colossians.

• Despite the shocking treatment Joseph experienced, he trusted God through it all and displayed humility, wisdom, courage, patience, and faith.

• He obeyed the heavenly call, and he submitted to the leading and guidance of the Holy Spirit in humility of heart.

• As Christians, we have also been promised that when we undertake the work which God has called us to do - as unto HIM, in humility of heart, we will receive the reward of our promised inheritance - for in God's eyes, it is the Lord Christ Whom we are serving.

• He points to the Lord Jesus as the perfect example of a life lived in gracious humility, godly self-sacrifice, and with a deep and genuine love for others; a life that was lived to the glory of God.

• So often, in the Word of God, the believer is expected to be clothed in righteousness, strength and humility, shod with the gospel of peace, and covered with a garment of gracious praise, and each virtue that is manifested in the life of a believer is simply the reflected glory of Christ's own perfect righteousness and His gracious humility.

• All believers should walk in humility of heart and rejoice that their name is written in the Lamb's Book of Life, for everyone's earthly life, whether rich or poor, is as fleeting and temporal as the wayside flower or the grass of the field, but OUR hope is in Christ.

• Philippians follows this general outline, with an exhortation towards humility of heart, unity in the Body, and the need to be Christlike.

• Whatever form it takes, or whatever way it may disguise itself, the appearance of wisdom through self-imposed religion uncovers pride within and exposes a false humility, for it is stating that I can to all things through ME.

• From the moment that Paul set foot in Asia, his heart was with the people there, as he served the Lord with all humility and tears.

• Like so much of the Church today, these Christians in Corinth were not living the life of holiness and humility to which we have all been called, but had allowed the standards, morals, and attitudes of the world to infiltrate their position in Christ.

• Humility, grace, peace, and love are the precious spiritual fruit that should be evident in the life of all God's children who have gained wisdom and been given godly understanding.
• The Lord Jesus Himself was the embodiment of all holy wisdom, and the personification of godly humility.

• This headstrong, young fisherman, who was the first to proclaim by revelation, Thou art the Christ the Son of the living God, addresses himself to fellow-believers in simplicity and humility as: The bond-servant and apostle of Jesus Christ.

• It is the wise man that does not reject or despise the reproof that comes to him from the Lord, but in humility of heart bows before God's chastening rod and learns the lessons that He would teach through His correction.

• May we take to heart this beautiful truth and determine, in His strength, to remain low at the Cross in humility of heart, and broken before Him.

• His humility and truth is applauded and His wealth and majesty is equally acknowledged.

• All that is required of us is to admit, in humility of heart, our lack, and accept His gracious offer to cast all our cares on Him, knowing that He cares for us and is well able to give us help in time of need.
• When the cares and concerns of this world are given to the Lord in humility of heart, He pours into that life His peace that passes understanding, and we discover we have a godly wisdom, an enlarged faith, supernatural love, and His sufficient grace, despite the circumstances that hem us in on every side.
• Rarely does the answer happen the way we expect when we submit to His will, but the Lord will always carry the burdens of those that approach Him with a spirit of trust and a heart of humility.

• James also adds that true wisdom flows from a heart that is gentle and a spirit that demonstrates true humility.
• But if a believer tries to hide behind a veneer of heavenly wisdom or puts on a pretence of humility while harbouring bitter jealousies and selfish ambitions within their hearts, they are living a lie and being false to the truth, for to adopt a false façade of godly wisdom is really an exhibition of a hypocritical, carnal nature and a worldly attitude.

• The young carpenter of Nazareth was God incarnate Who, in His humility, had kept every aspect of God's holy Law.

• Paul calls us all to be like-minded, having unity in the spirit and the love of Christ in our hearts, being of one accord, encouraging the saints, and demonstrating tender-compassion in humility of heart towards one another.
• May the patience, humility, gentleness, and love we show to each other be known to all, as together we draw near to God.

• It is specifically to women that Peter exposes the dangers of an over-emphasis on external adornments, fancy hairstyles, expensive jewellery, or beautiful clothes – greater attention should rather be placed on the inner clothing of humility, purity, gentleness, and grace, which is of far greater worth in the sight of God.

• But there is a tender note of humility and grace in this directive from the Lord's chief apostle, for he addressed himself as their fellow elder.
• The way that Peter addressed his fellow elders, as he sought to equip those that came after him in proclaiming the gospel of grace, forwarding the cause of Christ, and feeding the flock of God, demonstrates true, Christian humility, and a life that is dedicated to equipping others to carry on the message of salvation by grace, through faith in Christ Jesus our Lord

• Though Peter may have left all to follow Jesus, watched in amazement as He saw Him transfigured at the top of the holy mount, and unashamedly proclaimed: Thou are the Christ the Son of the living God, he could not begin to understand the staggering spiritual significance of Christ's act of humility, when He laid aside His garments, girded Himself with a towel, and began to wash the disciples' feet.

• And yet, this Gentile showed a strong faith, deep humility, and a simple confidence in Christ - three complementary qualities that are so necessary in a man or woman of faith. 

• The life of Jesus was the demonstration of a Man Who lived His life in a spirit of dependant humility, goodness, and grace, Who would not compromise the good news of the gospel of God, but spoke the truth in goodness and love.

• We are to remain in fellowship with our heavenly Father, by confessing our sin before His heavenly throne, and we are to abide in Christ in humility of heart and in willing obedience to His Word... for without maintaining a day-by-day trust in the Lord, and a solid faith in His unchanging Word, it is impossible for the saved saint to please our heavenly Father.

• And yet He desires in this brief span of time (between our justification and our glorification), that we work out our own salvation in humility of heart and to His praise and glory so that in the ages to come, He may show forth the incomparable riches of His grace which He has expressed in His kindness towards us, in Christ Jesus.

• Let us seek to be those that are spiritual and to bear one another's burdens in humility and gentleness.

• While boasting a head-knowledge of God, this prideful man lacked a heart of humility and understanding.
• Job eventually experiences the Lord in a new and wonderful way, and the story concludes with him confessing his own lack of humility before the Lord.

• We are entreated to live in humility and lowliness of mind.
• Let us leave the self-life nailed to the Cross and live out our new-life in Christ (which we received at salvation), in humility and gentleness, patiently enduring with grace, tolerance, and love.

• We should never forget to be grateful for all that God has done for us, and live for Him with a grateful heart, and in humility of spirit.

• He knew that as Christ’s disciples we are to follow the same path of humility and humiliation that Jesus took, but he also knew that the sufferings of this age... by comparison with our eternal future, are very small and will soon pass.

• He reacted to his woes with worship, and to his devastating losses with reverence and humility of heart.

• We are now called to walk worthy of our calling, in humility of heart, unity of spirit, and as children of the light.

• But instead of praying in humility of heart, they turned prayer into a legalistic practice in order to draw attention to their own religiosity!
• Prayer should be undertaken in the reverential fear of the Lord and in an unfeigned humility of heart.

• We have a positive responsibility to obey His Word and apply it in our everyday life, for when we walk in the unity of the Spirit and live in holiness of heart, we mature in the faith, grow in grace, and produce the fruit of humility, patience, gentleness, and love.

• And despite his imprisonment in a Roman jail, it was with the joy of the Lord that Paul was able to write his letter of encouragement to his brothers and sisters in Philippi, exhorting them to unity, humility and continued sacrificial service to the Lord.

• She pronounces an eternal truth that rejoices all who seek after the Lord with a needy heart, in humility of spirit, and a deep, hungering longing for Him.
• Let us approach Him in humility of heart and poverty of spirit, for He has promised to fill all those that hunger for Him with good things, both in this life and in the age to come, while those that come to Him in selfish, self-satisfied pride and carnality of soul, will receive the bitter fruit of inner emptiness.

• When pride is recognised as the antithesis of grace, we begin to understand its destructive nature in the life of a believer and the wisdom to counterbalance it with godly humility.
• He looks with favour on the humble and provides comfort and tender-mercies to the one who shows true humility of spirit.
• It is only when the purifying furnace of God's corrective hand is used to break us and empty us of self, that God can start to mould us and remake us into the image and likeness of the Lord Jesus Who was the Personification of humility and grace.
• Humility of heart is a quietness of spirit and a gentleness of disposition that seeks the best for others, even at the expense of our own hopes and wishes.
• Rather, let us feed on Christ in our hearts by faith with thanksgiving and allow the beautiful spiritual fruit of humility to blossom and bud in our inner being - so that the lovely character of the Lord Jesus may start to be seen increasingly in our lives - until we come to a measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ to the praise and honour of our heavenly Father.

• At His First Coming, the Lord Jesus rode on a lowly donkey in fulfilment of Bible prophecy, as a sign of His humility.

• Although Israel's high priest had to be a man appointed by God who was full of compassion, humility, mercy, and grace, and who acted as an intermediary between God and man while representing man to God - he was a sinner.

• Israel was to trust the Lord in loving obedience and humility of heart.

• May we adopt this attitude of humility in the work to which God has called us, and thank God that He is building His Church and that we are granted, by grace, to be fellow-labourers in His vineyard.

• It is only those that walk in spirit and truth, daily abide in Him, hold fast that which is good, and remain in fellowship with the Father, through humility and obedience to the Word of truth, that are enabled, by the power of the Holy Spirit, to demonstrate the same supernatural love of Christ, in a world of sin and shame.

• He identified with the fallen race of men and learnt humility and godly obedience, by the things that He suffered as a Man. He identified with our humanity in every detail. He was tempted like we are.

• Christ gave a beautiful lesson in humility and meekness when He set a little child in the midst of His disciples to exemplify what our Christian lives should be like.
• And there continues to be a great need for humility in the Church today, but the cost of true humility is high.
• But the Bible has set out clear guidelines on how to deal with a situation where a brother or sister in Christ has sinned against us, or caused us some harm or distress, and it is rooted in humility and grace.
• It should be carried out in humility and grace, and it should be addressed in private.
• First, we should go and correct a Christian brother in private, but our words should be seasoned with salt, and our attitude should reflect a Christ-like humility, a godly gentleness, and Spirit-filled patience so that we are enabled to give and to receive correction in truth and in love.
• May our lives reflect Christ's gentle humility.

• It is by being gracious towards strangers and prisoners and by maintaining sexual purity and inner humility of heart.

• Only works carried out in humility of heart, through the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit, will receive the promised reward. Works that are produced by the spirit of pride, which relies on self, will be destroyed, however commendable they may appear.

• He set aside eternity's glories, to be clothed in humility, in poverty, in suffering, and in death.

• Having been chosen by God and called to be an apostle of Christ, Paul proclaimed the glorious gospel of grace with great boldness of spirit, but he also presented it with much humility of heart.

• Humility of heart, an unassertiveness of demeanour, and a gentle forbearance towards fellow believers, are some of the evidences that Paul lists in identifying a Spirit-filled believer.

• And so in humility of heart and with a deep love for his Lord, Paul abandoned His philosophical training and spoke to the Corinthians simply, in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling.

• In contrast, with humility comes honour, grace, and gentleness.
• We are to exhibit genuine mercy and deep humility of heart, knowing that the Lord bestows His grace generously to those that are humble of heart.

• We are to look to the Lord Jesus as our example in selfless humility.

• We are to put on a heart of compassion and bring forth the spiritual fruit of kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience, and we are to bear with one another in love, forgiving each other with grace, just as God in Christ has forgiven us.

• But Christ taught of a godly righteousness that depended on an inner purity of heart and humility of spirit; a heart that is in a right relationship with God.
• And this is only possible in the life of a believer, who by faith will walk in spirit, truth, and humility of heart, not having a righteousness of our own, which is derived from the Law, but that which is through faith in Christ; the righteousness which comes from God, on the basis of faith.

• Although we are positionally sanctified the moment we first believe, and enjoy all the benefits of sonship... we are also being called to develop an inner attitude of reverential fear of the Lord, which produces in us humility of heart, and willing obedience to His Word.

• We should be ready and willing to admit our weaknesses and combine humility of heart with a soul that trusts in the Lord with our whole being, and does not rely on our own understanding.

• The very breath of man is in His hands, and the winds and waves obey His voice.  And yet, He set us an example of humility and grace when He washed His disciple's feet.
• Jesus' example of humility at that last supper when He washed His disciples' feet, enabled Christ to say to each one of us, I gave you an example so that you also should do as I did to you.

• He is breaking up the fallow ground within our own hearts and He is sowing His seeds of love and grace, humility, kindness, and patience, as He weeds out the thorns and thistles of Self-interest, Self-importance, and Self-dependence - which is the ugly fruit of the old sin nature.

• Let us, in humility of heart, and patient endurance, permit the testing work of the Holy Spirit to penetrate deeply into the depth of our being as He examines truth in the inward parts, and lays bare the hidden thoughts and intentions within.

• James calls all fleshly, carnal Christians to repent of their ungodly ways and in humility of heart to receive the implanted Word of God and to act on it faithfully, humbly, and wisely, which causes us to live godly in Christ Jesus.
