• The silence of His early years and young adult life was broken forever, as He stepped out into three and a half years of blessing for humanity – joining His voice with that of His herald - Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand – the King was here.

• Rest Of Silence Oh, what a joy it is when earthly friends whose sensitivity towards each other, and love for each other can just sit in silence and wait in perfect understanding – just resting in the presence of the other.  How much more should it be when the Lord Himself should so desire that we prove our love and friendship to Him, by asking us to wait.  To wait for Him in secret silence.  And in so doing, assuring Him that our love for Him is constant, and our faith in Him can stand the test of His silence,

• Although John received great acclaim as God's prophet, after 400 years of prophetic silence, John was under no illusion that Jesus must become increasingly important, while he was to become of less and less significance.

• However, His silence infuriated the Jewish leaders, and finally the high priest stood up and said angrily, Do You not answer?

• Whether they sat in silence as a sign of mourning for the 'loss' of their friend at his deathly appearance or whether their silence indicated their pity, sympathy, horror, grief, or a form of contempt towards their friend because of his situation, we are not told.
• We are not told what went through the minds of these three men during their seven days and nights of silence, but as the drama unfolds, we discover a range of biased attitudes in the mind of each person.

• However, the enemy of our soul was also very active in various quarters and attempted to silence the truth.

• The 7 trumpet judgements begin once the 7th seal is broken, following a period of silence in heaven which lasts for about half an hour.

• The blowing of the trumpets will be delayed during heaven's half an hour of silence, as the seven angels watch and wait to sound their instruments, as the smoke of the incense, intermingled with the prayers of the saints, will ascend in the presence of God.

• For such is the will of God, that by doing right you may silence the ignorance of foolish men.

• But just as Moses had harsh criticism from jealous, envious men, so Paul was hounded throughout his ministry by those who sought to destroy him, silence his message, and demolish his Christian witness.

• After his customary introduction to Timothy and his charge to identify and deal with distorted doctrine and silence false teachers, Paul continues his letter to this trusted, young pastor, with important instructions concerning Christian conduct and Church life.

• Prayers we have offered are a sweet-smelling savour that have ascended to the Lord, but they may not have been answered yet, but we do know that the day is coming when a heavenly hush will silence heaven for half an hour to usher in that mighty angel with the golden censer.

• But their message was an affront to the Jewish rulers who attempted to silence their voices, for had they accepted the truth of the glorious gospel, their authority would have been challenged because the old order had been set aside and a new order had started - the dispensation of the grace of God.

• May we carry out righteous deeds for God's glory and remain pure in doctrine, dignified in sound speech, and beyond reproach in actions and attitude so that those who oppose us will be shamed into silence, and have nothing bad to say about us.
