• Filled With The Spirit They were all baptised in the Spirit and then everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them His ability. What a day of gladness that must have been for those that were present on that day. What a time of rejoicing it is for all who are empowered by the same Holy Spirit.

• The first step is, we believe that the Lord Jesus was sent of the Father; second, that in the fulness of His work we are justified; third, we make His acquaintance, fourth, we come to see Him in heaven - we know our association with Him there, and His rest here, fifth, we learn the mystery, the great things we are entitled to because of being in His Body, His Bride; sixth, that we are seated in heavenly places in Him; seventh, we rejoice in wonder and in praise in the knowledge of Himself. -J.B.S.

• Zacharias rejoiced that the promise made to their forefather Abraham was to be realised and that they would be enabled to serve the Lord in freedom and without fear – for the Seed of the woman would be manifested and the Messiah of Israel would redeem His people. Emmanuel was to come.
• Zecharias the Priest Without a doubt, this was a shout of victory, for the enemies of Israel were to be routed, and Israel was to be rescued from the hands of all that hate them… The walls of their enemies were to be broken asunder, as pictured in the walls of Jericho, so long before. Zecharias rejoiced that God’s promise to their father Abraham was to be realised, and his nation would be enabled to serve the Lord in freedom and without fear.

• Hold Fast How the host of heaven who rejoices over one sinner that repentd, must long to cry out how close is the end and the goal; to implore that last spurt of strength.

• Song Of MARY - STUDY  My Spirit has rejoiced in GOD……Luke 1:47
• Sacrifice of Praise The first beautiful strains of Mary’s song were to magnify the Lord – to magnify and to lift up the Lord her God. The next harmonious tones were those of rejoicing – jubilant, exultant strains of praise and rejoicing. She indeed discovered the wonderful joy contained in the Sacrifice of Praise. Joy is not the cheap, empty thrill that temporarily replaces a lonely longing inside. No – true joy is a deep, calm and yet glorious knowing.
• For those willing to fall on that Stone – for those who permit Self to be replaced with Christ. What joy this young woman experienced at the staggering announcement. What rejoicing she expresses – as she reflected on this awesome thing.
• while spiritual joy multiplies and increases. Spiritual joy multiplies and increases as it is exercised and utilised. Spiritual joy enlarges and expands as spiritual joy is shared with another. For the one that rejoices in the Lord has a joy that sings in the field of battle. The one that delights in God has a joyful rest through the dark hours of the night. Oh yes indeed – troubles will surely come, oft-times thick and fast and furious, but these need not rob the Christian of his joy.

• BUT GOD. God can cause the distressing delay to blossom into a thing of beauty. God can replace the chalice of bitter herbs with a brimming cup of blessing. God will change the long night of waiting into a morning of joy and rejoicing.

• Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see Him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory (1 Pet. 1:8).
• But we never find Him rejoicing in anything but the will of His Father.
• So may we rejoice in the Lord' though all is dark around, with the joy of faith that sees the unseen and looks beyond the present and temporal to the eternal. -G.G.
• In thy Name shall they rejoice all the day (Ps. 89:15, 16).

• God’s Greatness Tell out, my soul, the greatness of the Lord!Unnumbered blessings give my spirit voice;Tender to me the promise of His word;In God my Saviour shall my heart rejoice.

• Representative Servant And Paul also said: I rejoice in my sufferings for you. I am glad when I suffer for you in my body, for I am completing what remains of Christ’s sufferings for His body – the church.

• How do I learn to rejoice in my sufferings for you, if not from Scripture?
• Word of God Paul tells us, “In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials.” 1 Peter 1:6.

• So let us rejoice that we have an open heaven secured for us by our blessed Lord.

• Eternal Salvation Just as we, rejoice to be blood-bought believers..
• so, too, we should rejoice to participate in the fellowship of His sufferings – in humbleness of spirit and thankfulness of heart.

• Joint-Heirs All glory and authority in heaven and on earth have been given to the Lord Jesus, and yet He tells the Father that, glory has come to Me through them! Christ loves the Church corporately and every living stone is precious in His sight. They are so precious that He rejoices over them with singing. But Christ also loves each member individually..

• It is not the miracle of a restored voice or a lesson learned that causes my tears of rejoicing..

• The dying thief rejoiced to see that fountain in his day;And there have I, though vile as he, washed all my sins away.

• Thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart.

• Love rejoices in the truth.

• Patience : for love suffers long.Kindness : for love is kind.Generosity : for love envieth not.Humility : for love vaunteth not itself and is not puffed up.Courtesy : for love does not behave itself unseemly.Unselfishness : for love seeketh not her own.Good temper : for love is not easily provoked.Guilelessness : for love thinks no evil.Sincerity : for love rejoices not in iniquity but rejoices in the truth.

• who shall deliver me from the body of this death?” and then in jubilant cry, I thank God, through Jesus Christ our Lord.” And then we can rejoice with Hosea: Come, and let us return unto the Lord: for he hath torn, and He will heal us; he hath smitten, and He will bind us up.

• And all heaven will rejoice when: the kingdom of this world have become the kingdom of our Lord, and of his Christ; and He shall reign forever and ever.

• He has in the first place rejoiced greatly in the forgiveness of his sins, and his acceptance by God; but sooner or later he begins to realise that all is not well, and that he has failed and fallen from the high standard which he set himself to reach, in the first flush of his conversion.
• And so rejoice in whatever circumstances of life you find yourself, for He Who has begun a good work in you will complete it at the day of Jesus Christ Jesus.

• and the new-born believer rejoices in his liberty – sins forgiven and sins forgotten – sins forever buried in the vast ocean of God's gracious forgetfulness.
• First Flush of Faith And days come and weeks go and newfound faith is rejoicing shared.

• We know we should rejoice in our sufferings..
• as sorrowful and yet always rejoicing – as poor, yet making many rich – as having nothing, yet possessing everything.
• must rejoice our drooping hearts.
• Though you do not now see Him, you believe in Him and rejoice – with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory.

• Always guarded by the power of God through faith.... In such a hope keep on rejoicing, although for a little while you must be sorrow-stricken with various trials (1 Peter 1:5, 6, Wms.).

• This is ground of rejoicing to all the friends of the Gospel.

• He has in the first place rejoiced greatly in the forgiveness of his sins, and his acceptance by God; but sooner or later he begins to realize that all is not well, and that he has failed and fallen from the high standard which he set himself to reach in the first flush of his conversion.

• worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh (Phil. 3:3).

• And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto Myself. Should not this promise of the heavenly Bridegroom cause our hearts to rejoice? Should not the deep desire or His heart move our own to an even deeper longing?  Knowing that He prayed: Father, I will that they also, whom Thou hast given Me, be with Me where I am..” John 17:24. Should not our yearning love for Him overshadow any concern about His delay?  For having loved His own which were in the world, He loved them to the end.

• Does He hear that which rejoices His heart, or is their conversation steeped in darkness, and dispirited?

• Being Ready The warning to be ready should rejoice our hearts and be an encouragement, for God has outlined in His Word all we need to ensure we are ready and prepared – and loving Jesus and trusting His word is the most important step in being ready.

• Angel’s Proclamation And the angels made a proclamation… and the star was a herald. Yet on the night of the Messiah’s birth there was no earthly rejoicing..

• My Substitute We rejoice that Christ has died for our sins..
• We rejoice to know that 'in Christ' our sins are buried in God’s sea of forgetfulness.

• I need to thank Him for His blessed gift and rejoice in His loving forgiveness, or I live life chained and entrapped behind a prison door of guilt, doubt, and disbelief.

• And rejoice evermore.

• Rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh (Phil. 3:3).

• Job 13:16 And the prayer of Habakkuk is a timely reminder to hold fast to the faith we posses, for despite the temptation to lose his faith in God – He rejoiced over God’s faithfulness.
• Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive fail and the fields yield no food, the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will take joy in the God of my salvation.

• We rejoice at the birth of a new-born baby in the natural realm, but we would soon become concerned if that little baby did not begin to develop and grow through infancy and childhood, into adolescence and mature adulthood - and it is the same in the Christian life.

• Paul rejoiced that the gospel was continuing to be spread abroad.

• What joy must have filled her heart when she was told the words of the angel: You will have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice over his birth.

• He rejoiced when the gospel of Christ was proclaimed, and wanted to demonstrate that suffering for Christ in this life, would bring his Saviour great praise and glory.

• Timothy was sent to find out how the believers there were getting along, to establish them in the faith, and give them spiritual support and godly encouragement.Paul rejoiced when Timothy returned with the joyful tidings that they were being established in the faith and well-grounded in the Word, despite the many difficulties and distresses they were facing: May the Lord cause you to increase in your faith and abound in your love for one another and for all people, was Paul's heartfelt prayer for them all, just as we also do for you.Paul continued in prayers and loving intercessions for the saints at Thessalonica, beseeching God the Father Himself and Jesus our Lord to direct and govern their ways.May we be like Paul, and remember to lift up our fellow Christian brothers and sisters in continuous and loving prayer and heartfelt intercessions.

• David rejoices to know that in God's timing and in His way, the Lord will judge the world in righteousness, give release to the poor, and comfort to those that are oppressed.
• We, like David, rejoice to know that the day is coming when the Lord will avenge the blood of His people and put to flight the evil of the wicked.

• As we recognise the truth that Christ's sacrifice was made once for all and forever... and that by faith in Him our sins are not simply covered but fully forgiven, we can rejoice with exceeding great joy that the Mosaic Law, the Feasts of the Lord, the various priestly ceremonies and bloody sacrificial offerings of the Old Covenant, were true shadows of the glorious reality that was manifest in Christ Jesus Who has saved us from our sin and seated us together with Him in heavenly places.

• Jesus used the illustration of light in much of His earthly teaching, and the apostle John and other New Testament authors frequently referred to Christ as 'the Light Who came into the world' and we rejoice to know that darkness can never overcome Him.A thick darkness has enveloped this fallen world system due to man's sin, and the eyes of every soul born into this sinful race, is shrouded in a deep blackness that can only be removed by the true Light of God Who came into the world in the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Light of the world.

• But Paul also goes on to rejoice that in His goodness and grace, God's offer of salvation continues to be extended to Israel and that His punishment for their sin will not remain forever.

• Esau intermarried with pagan Canaanite women, refused God's people a safe passage across his land during their wilderness wanderings, and rejoiced greatly when Jerusalem fell in the Babylonian invasion.

• No wonder Paul encourages us to rejoice in the Lord always, for there is now no condemnation to them that are in Christ Jesus.

• But quite suddenly, part-way though his grievous lament, David's attitude switched from his pitiful pleadings for help, deliverance, justice, and vengeance, to words of rejoicing and songs of praise.
• May our hearts truly rejoice in the God of our salvation and may we lift up our voices together in continuous thanksgiving and praise.

• Let us rejoice greatly in the Lord for as long as we live and exult in the God of our salvation, for He has clothed me with garments of salvation.

• He knew that many blessings and benefits follow those who continue earnestly to pray in faith and for those who are vigilant in their worship, praise, and thanksgiving.Paul knew that it is God's will that His blood-bought sons and daughters rejoice in the Lord always, and so he encouraged each one to rejoice continuously, to pray without ceasing, and in everything to give thanks and praise to our Heavenly Saviour.But Paul also knew that prayer is a God-given privilege that has been awarded to every Christian, and those that walk in spirit and truth and pray into the Father's will, are assured that their prayers will be heard and answered, for His greater praise and glory.Paul therefore coveted the intercessions and prayers of these saints in Colossae.
• May we, like him, pray without ceasing, rejoice in the Lord continuously, and in everything give thanks to our Heavenly Father.May we seek to be faithful servants of God and develop the sort of Christlike character that honours the Lord in word and in de, and may we give godly encouragement and comfort to all those who are placed in our path, for the honour of His holy name.

• Let us take to heart ALL that is written in the pages of Scripture and rejoice that the day is coming when the kingdoms of this world will become the eternal Kingdom of our God and of His Christ - the ROCK on Whom we stand.
• Let us rejoice that He is coming back to reign on earth and that because of our faith, we will reign with Him forever.

• The wonderful spectacle of Moses and Elijah speaking to Jesus on the heavenly mount must have rejoiced their heart, but I am sure that nothing could transcend the awe and wonderment they must have experienced when a cloud appeared from above and enveloped them, and a voice came from the cloud, saying: This is my beloved Son: hear Him.

• Paul and his companions were obviously pleased with the spiritual development of these believers, and referred to them as 'OUR hope; OUR joy; and OUR crown of rejoicing.' For who is our hope or joy or crown of exultation? was his rhetorical question.
• Paul described these believers, who had been born again through his ministry as his hope, his joy and the Crown of Rejoicing he would receive at Christ's return.
• The Crown of Rejoicing, is one of five 'crowns' that are mentioned in the New Testament.
• Here in 1 Thessalonians, Paul writes about the Crown of Rejoicing.
• He identifies the Christian men and women to whom he and his fellow-labourers had brought the gospel, as THEIR Crown of Rejoicing.
• YOU are our crown of Rejoicing!
• Those who were saved through Paul's preaching are identified as his Crown of Rejoicing.
• Not only is there rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents, but there will be rejoicing in heaven when the pastors or evangelists, who faithfully preached the whole counsel of God, rejoice when they see the people that have been saved, because of their faithful witness.
• Paul rejoiced greatly when a lost sinner heard the gospel, and turned from sin to Christ for salvation.
• It seems that the Crown of Rejoicing, is the reward for the soul-winner - the one who wins souls for Jesus.
• It is not only Christ's apostles who will receive this amazing Crown of Rejoicing, but all who have been instrumental in pointing a lost sinner to Christ.
• Those who faithfully ministered to US will rejoice at our salvation and we will be part of their Crown of Rejoicing.
• Together we will be part of a great company in heaven that are rejoicing because of our salvation and the salvation of others.
• We will also rejoice, with exceeding great joy, when we see men and women, boys and girls, who responded to our ministry, standing in that heavenly throng of rejoicing saints.
• May we be diligent to tell others of the good news of the gospel of grace and rejoice with them in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ, as we cast our crowns before HIS feet.

• But despite their opposition and ungodly intention, Paul rejoiced knowing that the gospel of Christ was being spread abroad.
• Paul was certainly filled with joy knowing that there were many who were continuing his work and preaching Christ from a sincere love of the Lord and a desire to tell forth the glorious message of salvation by grace through faith in Him, but he also rejoiced over the ministry of those whose motive in preaching was rooted in envy and strife.
• May we never allow wrong motives or fleshly attitudes to influence the calling that God has laid on each one of our lives, rather, let us rejoice that the good news of God is being proclaimed to lost souls who need to hear the glorious gospel of salvation, by grace through faith in Christ.

• Indeed, it should be our joy and rejoicing to love the Lord our God with all our heart and with all our soul and with all our strength and mind, for He loved us first.

• When David pours out his heart into one of his many psalms of prayer and praise to the Lord, his words often quicken an air of rejoicing in our own lives, for we too can identify with some of the many hardships he faced, and we too can also bear witness to the wealth of joy that he proclaimed, for joy in the Lord and the joy of the Lord was the strength that David received from the Lord, as it is for so many of His children.

• On that day, the nation of Israel will rejoice in unison, saying: Blessed is He Who comes in the name of the Lord.

• Indeed, as Paul records in this verse in Galatians: It is written, 'Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not.

• And we are to do the same.They were to be responsible for the well-being of their Christian friends, supporting one another in their lack, rejoicing in their increase, and making sure that those endowed with the gift of pastor-teacher, were similarly provided for, through individual, voluntary, but cheerful offerings.As believers, we have all been blessed with every spiritual blessing from above and are instructed by the Word of God and through Church elders and Christian ministers, to share our blessings, both material and spiritual, with others so that they in turn are enabled to rejoice in the Lord for His provision and go further afield themselves, to bless others who cross their path.Sowing and reaping blessings in this way, is a biblical principle that benefits both the giver and the one that receives, as well as honouring the Lord our God from Whom all blessings flow.

• And He rejoices over the one that seeks first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, with meekness of heart and a gentle spirit.

• Jesus had warned us that without Him, we can do nothing, and once Paul understood the deeper meaning of this, he boasted in his own weaknesses while rejoicing that through Christ he could do all things.

• How important, therefore, to not only rejoice in Christ's beatitude in Matthew - blessed are the merciful  - but also to heed James' warning of the consequences that the unmerciful face.

• He not only caused us to become new creatures, by faith in His sacrificial death and glorious Resurrection, but supplied us with good seed to sow into the lives of those who do not know His goodness and grace – and then to carry out His own good work in our lives, through the power of His indwelling Holy Spirit.Paul rejoices that God is able to make all grace abound to us so that always having sufficiency in everything, we have an abundance for every good deed, and he reinforces this truth by quoting from the Psalmist: He scattered abroad.

• This verse is rejoicing that the silver-haired head of a godly old man, is a thing in which to rejoice – for it is a crown of splendour and a garland of glory.Similarly, this is not to insinuate that only older men who have grey hair are crowned with glory, but that an older man (irrespective of his hair or lack of it) who has trusted God in his life, is graced with certain wisdom and sound judgement that comes from above and deserves the respect and honour of the younger generation.There are many older people who mourn the loss of their good looks or bemoan a decline in their physical fitness, and although physical beauty and youthful strength are often held up as desirable, it is rather the godly wisdom of a mature man-of-God or elderly lady-of-faith that should command the respect and reverence of those that are younger.

• Just as an earthly father would have rejoiced to hear this wise request from the son he loves, so our Heavenly Father was delighted that Solomon made so prudent a choice, and God not only granted him the wisdom and knowledge he requested but also promised him unparalleled riches, wealth, honour, and long life.

• No wonder Paul could rejoice that in every way we are enriched in Him in all speech and understanding which is being continuously showered upon us all in great profusion and which stands as a testimony that Christ is confirmed in us.

• Rather, we must rejoice in the Lord, knowing that our eternal souls are secure in Christ, for we are declared righteous through Jesus Christ His Son.

• Nor was he timid in rejoicing with unspeakable joy, the awe, wonder, and unfeigned love and affection he held for the Lord Jesus.
• Should we not join the apostle Peter in rejoicing with unspeakable joy, unfeigned love, and grateful thanks for all that we are in Christ?

• For many years, John had faithfully taught the Word of truth and seen many come to a saving faith in Christ Jesus, and it rejoiced his pastor's heart to hear that some of the believers connected with this dear, godly lady, were living righteous lives, walking in the truth of God's Word, and living lives that honoured the Lord Who bought them with His own blood.
• The Lord Jesus, Himself, said, I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life, no man comes unto the Father but by Me, and this elderly disciple of Christ rejoiced because these children were occupied with Christ and obeying His command - which from the beginning was to love one another.
• The man or woman who is walking in truth is the one who is not only doctrinally sound... but who is humble of heart, growing in grace, standing fast on the Word, rejoicing in the Lord, and living in love and unity with their brothers in Christ.

• Luke wrote of all that Jesus started to do from the beginning of His earthly ministry until He ascended into heaven from a mountain, close to the little town of Bethany, leaving His disciples to rejoice in hope while giving praise to God for all His goodness and grace to them.

• How we rejoice in Jesus, Who is our risen, ascended, and glorified Lord!
• Together with the disciples and apostles, we rejoice in the sure promise of the hope of God's glory, when our bodies will all be changed in the twinkling of an eye, to become like unto His glorious glorified body. 
• It is because of this sure hope of the glory of God that Paul can continue with the words: More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident HOPE.
• If suffering causes us to set our minds on things above, not on things of the earth - if suffering causes us to fall on our knees crying out to the Lord; if suffering causes us to put our hope in the Lord and the sure promise of His return, then shouldn't we also rejoice in our sufferings?
• This confident, future hope of the glory of God is the eternal fruit of today's patient endurance in our present sufferings – and so let us rejoice in our suffering KNOWING the glory that will be revealed.

• And when the Christians in Smyrna received confirmation that Jesus was with them in every eventuality of life, including their poverty and pain, it must have rejoiced their soul.

• The heavens declare the glory of God, the trees clap their hands together, and the little hills rejoice on every side.
• How much more should who have been forgiven of our sins, clothed in His own righteousness, made joint-heirs with our Saviour and seated together with Him in heavenly places, unite our voices in great rejoicing and sing songs of praise about the majesty of his reputation, and give Him the honour He deserves.

• And so when he writes, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, to rejoice in suffering, and to count it all joy when you meet trials, we can be assured that he is speaking from a place of deep personal understanding.
• In this verse, after reminding the Corinthians of his and his co-workers great endurance; in troubles, hardships and distresses; in beatings, imprisonments and riots; in hard work, sleepless nights and hunger; in purity, understanding, patience and kindness; in the Holy Spirit and in sincere love; truthful speech and in the power of God; with weapons of righteousness in the right hand and in the left; through glory and dishonour, bad report and good report; genuine, yet regarded as impostors; known, yet regarded as unknown; dying, and yet we live on; beaten, and yet not killed; Paul is able to conclude that he and his co-workers were sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; poor, yet making many rich; having nothing, and yet possessing everything.
• Like Paul, we can also commend ourselves as servants of God as we face our own afflictions, hardships, distresses, and poverty in the power and sufficiency of the Spirit, with patient endurance and rejoicing in the hope set before us.
• May we choose, from this day forward, to rejoice in our suffering, and count it all joy when we meet trials of any kind, knowing that when we are weak, He is strong, to the glory of the Father forevermore. 

• And, as if all this were not sufficient, He made a promise that should rejoice the heart of all His children, and calm every questioning soul: No-one will ever snatch them out of My hand, were His comforting words.
• As we consider the beauty of all that Christ has done for us, His gift of eternal salvation and the eternal security we find in Him, our rejoicing heart travels to Romans 12, where Paul calms each doubting heart with that memorable truth: Who will separate us from the love of Christ?

• Today we have to share in the sufferings of Christ, BUT: We rejoice, in the revelation of His glory.
• We rejoice with exultation, for after we have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, Who called us to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish us. HALLELUJAH what a Saviour!
• And a day is coming when we will greatly rejoice with all of His saints in heaven.

• Should we not delight to worship Him in this world and rejoice that in the world to come we will show forth the immeasurable riches of His grace, in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

• This is the glorious song of ecstatic praise and great rejoicing that Israel will sing in harmonic unison in that future day, when the saved remnant of God's chosen people will eat of the fruit of the land of Israel in peace and security.
• But this has already become a hymn of unparalleled rejoicing for generations of Christians.

• As believers, we rejoice that we have been saved by grace through faith in Christ.

• Peter rejoices to tell us that we are born to glory, saved to glory, and kept for glory.
• We too should rejoice that as the elect of God, we are set apart for God and are being sanctified by the Spirit of God.
• We should rejoice in our calling and our birth, our salvation, and our sanctification, knowing that death has been conquered, and we are kept by the power of God unto good works and words.
• The paradox of our faith is that we can rejoice in the midst of our suffering and distresses.
• The mystery of our call to glory is that we can rejoice greatly despite our trials and losses, because we have an unfailing hope in our eternal inheritance and the glorious redemption of our bodies, through Jesus Christ our Lord.
• And so, like Peter, let us: Greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, if necessary, we are being distressed by various trials.

• God's tender care for His people and their miraculous escape across the Red Sea was forgotten. Their songs of rejoicing were swiftly replaced by bitter complaints.

• Paul however, rejoiced to suffer on behalf of Christ's Body.

• And the wonderful truth that we are coming with Him when He returns to earth to set up His promised kingdom, as proclaimed by the two men in white, should rejoice our heart.

• The local herdsmen witnessed the entire display, but instead of rejoicing that the man was freed from His demonic possession, they rushed to the townsfolk to relate the happenings of the day - and promptly asked Jesus to leave their region.

• And I'm sure Peter's heart rejoiced as he continued, This is what was said to Him, by the Majestic Glory: 'This is My beloved Son with Whom I am well-pleased.'The recollection of that awesome moment when, together with James and John, he witnessed a glimpse of Christ's coming majesty, must have been etched in Peter's heart and memory until the day of his death.

• It was for this reason that the psalmist's great song of joy and rejoicing rang out with the words: O taste and see that the Lord is good.
• He wanted others to learn the same lesson that had so rejoiced his soul; that those who trust in the Lord are blessed indeed, and will not be disappointed.
• And like David, we would do well to hide under the shadow of God’s protective arm, to seek Him in the midst of our trials and tribulations, and cry out to the Lord for deliverance from the enemies into whose path we run, so that we too may rejoice with great joy and encourage others to: Taste and see that the Lord is good and to know how truly blessed is the man, who takes refuge in the Lord.

• And he exhorts us to appropriate all that is ours in Him and to translate this into our everyday life so that we are enabled to greatly rejoice in the God of our salvation - even in the midst of tremendous suffering and pain.

• David was a man who 'thrilled' to speak of the blessing on those to whom God credits with righteousness, apart from works: How blessed is the man, is David's rejoicing cry, how amazingly favoured is the one whom the Lord does not charge with sin, and in whom is no spirit of deceit.

• The psalmist rejoiced that the Angel of the Lord encamps round about them that fear Him, and we can also rejoice with exceeding great joy that the Spirit of Christ has taken up permanent residence within our heart and is living in us and working through us: For greater is He that is in you and me than he that is in the world.

• Although they smugly displayed their extensive knowledge of the prophetic Scriptures, they did not rejoice to discover that this ancient prophecy was coming to pass!

• God's will for all His children is that we rejoice evermore, pray without ceasing, and in all things to give thanks to Him, even during the inevitable difficulties of life that we all have to face, and in the midst of the various trials that are the portion of all humanity.
• We are told in the Scriptures to rejoice greatly in the Lord, even though for a time we may have to suffer much grief and all kinds of difficulties.
• Let us rejoice evermore, pray without ceasing, and give thanks in all things, even during the trials that come our way: Knowing that the trial of our faith, being much more precious than of gold that perishes, though it be tried with fire, might be found to praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ.

• I meditate on it all day long. (v 97) The unfolding of Your Words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple. (v 130) I rejoice in following Your Statutes as one rejoices in great riches. (v 14) How sweet are Your Words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth! (v 103) Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in Your Word. (v 18)

• God is no man's debtor, and despite spiritually gifting all who are called to shepherd the flock of God, Peter reveals a wonderful truth that should rejoice the heart of those who are called to be pastors or elders, or those who Shepherd the Body of Christ, for His name's sake.

• When a woman's own children recognise their mother's outstanding virtue and tell her so, or when a husband praises his wife and rejoices that she is his God-given help-meet, there is much joy that ensues.When a man or woman of God dies to self, lives for Christ, and conducts their public and private life with a gentle and caring spirit, they not only command the love and respect of their children and spouse and the admiration of their friends and neighbours, but also bring glory to their Father in heaven.May we seek to engage in the godly virtues that are laid out for our learning in Scripture, for the benefit of all and for the glory of God.

• Jesus tells us: Abraham rejoiced to see My day; he saw it and was glad, and yet Abraham was only given a fraction of the truth that God has graciously given to us, through His completed canon of Scripture.
• Abraham looked forward prophetically, but we rejoice to keep in remembrance that historic occasion when Christ died for our sins, was buried, and raised from the dead.

• The joy of the Lord was the fruit that caused Paul to rejoice, As sorrowful, yet always rejoicing, for in all our affliction, I am overflowing with joy.
• Let us be genuinely joyful when others rejoice, and not resentful of their good fortune.

• It should be a joy for every Christian to rejoice together in the simple message of salvation, by grace through faith in the death, burial, and Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.It was the uncomplicated message of redemption that Jude planned to share with fellow believers in Christ, when he started to pen his epistle.
• He wanted to rejoice in the forgiveness of sin and life everlasting, by faith in Christ.But the Body of Christ had been slowly and stealthily infiltrated by certain vulgar individuals who were denying the efficacy of the blood of Christ, and adversely influencing the faith of others.And so Jude wanted to remind his fellow believers of the fate of those people who deny the truth of the gospel and blaspheme the name of the Lord, with their satanically inspired lies.He reminded them of the terrible fate of corrupt cities in the time of Abraham.

• Paul is able to rejoice in his sufferings because he was counted worthy to suffer for the sake of Jesus Christ.
• We know that in this world we will have troubles, but may we, like Paul, rejoice in our sufferings knowing: Suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.

• No doubt she had rejoiced in the Lord for the many blessings He brought into their lives.
• Although Job longed to have a Mediator, a Days-man between man and God Who could arbitrate and argue his cause, we can rejoice that Jesus is our Mediator and we have been declared righteous by faith in Him.

• So in His grace and mercy we rejoice to read: I, even I, am the One who wipes out your transgressions for My own sake, and I will not remember your sins... anymore.

• Chapter 9 reminds us of Israel's past history, their tremendous privileges, and precious promises, while chapter 11 rejoices in their election by grace, their future hope, and eventual salvation.
• Let us thank God for His faithfulness to Israel; past, present, and future, and rejoice that His promises to them, and to us, are true and cannot be broken.

• May we embrace this statement of fact as a promise of God to each one of us and rejoice that, the mind of man plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps.

• But Paul rejoiced in his circumstances, for he recognised the hand of God in every situation of his life and rejoiced that the gospel was continuing to be spread abroad, despite his incarceration in a Roman jail.
• And Paul rejoiced that whether men were teaching in pretence or in truth, Christ was being proclaimed.
• But let us also rejoice that whatever the motive that other believers may have, when they share the true gospel of Christ, whether it is in pretence or in truth, that Christ is being proclaimed.

• So many of the psalms of David rejoice our hearts, as he pours forth a harmony of poetic praise to God for His merciful forgiveness and extraordinary favour.
• For the law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple; the statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes; the fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever; and the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.

• This enables us to grow in grace, mature in our Christian life, and rejoice in the established hope we have in Jesus.
• Not only do the glories of our justification result in peace with God, a firm standing in God's grace, and a rejoicing hope in Him, but we can allow His peace to reign in our hearts so that we can even exult in our tribulations, knowing the trials of life and the difficulties we endure bring about perseverance which develops strength of character and a solid hope in the Lord.
• Throughout the Church age, there have been many Christian men and women who have lived in this way; believers who have rejoiced in their afflictions for the sake of Christ; martyrs who have lived and died as examples for us.

• Prayers, intercession, supplications, petitions, and thanksgiving are to be made for all men, and we are urged to: Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

• He wanted to rejoice in the great salvation which we have in Jesus, and rehearse the beautiful gospel of grace in the ears of his hearers.

• This is a truth that should rejoice our heart every moment of the day. By virtue of our new birth and spiritual resurrection, we have been placed into an eternal, spiritual union with Christ and been made part of His spiritual Body, which is the Church.

• There must have been great joy and much rejoicing when the first convoy set out with Zerubbabel to travel to their homeland after 70 years of exile, as foretold by Jeremiah.

• The struggling Psalmist may be shrouded in spiritual darkness or be facing a black night of deep despair or despondency, and yet he does not shrink from rejoicing in the God of his salvation with an explosion of praise, for he is confident that God is his light in Whom there is no darkness at all, and the Lord is his Saviour so he has nothing to fear.
• Rather, we should rejoice in the God of our salvation who has brought us out of darkness into His glorious light: For if God is for us who can be against us?

• To know that the Lord is our Shield and Defender, should fill us our hearts with joy and rejoicing, for to be shielded by the Almighty God and Saviour is the safest place to be.
• Let us never forget that we have a faithful Father Whose promises to His people are all 'yes' and 'amen' in Christ Jesus our Lord, and should cause our hearts to rejoice in the Lord always and be glad in Him for evermore.

• Spiritual JOY is from the Lord, and gives strength and rejoicing, even in the midst of problematic and painful circumstances, while spiritual PEACE is inner tranquillity and godly composure, that is free from anxiety through faith in God's Word.

• Paul may have been absent in the flesh but he was with these believers in his heart and in his spirit, and he rejoiced to see that they were united together in the truth of the glorious gospel of God.

• Should this truth not rejoice our hearts?
• Should we not rejoice in the Lord always, knowing that we can overwhelmingly conquer in all things through Christ Jesus Who loves us, strengthens us, and shed His lifeblood Himself for us?

• David rejoiced to sing praises to the Lord His God Who does great things for His servants and Whose glorious character and attributes are proclaimed abroad, trumpeted throughout the extremity of the heavens by creation itself, and hidden in plain sight within the pages of sacred Scripture. 
• Both the performances and the promises of God are the subject of David's high acclaim and great rejoicing in God's eternal splendour, which is further revealed in the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ Who is the final revelation of the greatness of God, Whom to know is life eternal.

• There is rejoicing in heaven when a sinner believes, but we truly please Him when we LIVE by faith.

• No surprise that Paul rejoiced to say, Such confidence we have through Christ toward God.

• The sweet aroma that pervaded that little house two thousand years ago, has caused the hearts of countless Christians down through the centuries to rejoice and be glad.

• Although this Psalm was originally given to encourage Israel to love the Lord with all their heart and walk in His ways, there is much about which to rejoice when we read that the Lord knows the way of the righteous.

• There is nothing to compare with our God, and we are summoned to rejoice in His omnipotence.
• We are to rejoice in the Lord and be glad in Him, and verse 9 proclaims the eternal truth: You are the LORD Most High over all the earth.
• He will rule the nations with a rod of iron, but He will rule in righteousness and peace, and there will be worldwide rejoicing when Jesus Christ returns to set up His Millennial Kingdom on earth. 
• The contrast between the rejoicing righteous and the condemned sinner is heightened by the rolling clouds and thick darkness of God's consuming judgement, for He is the Most High Lord over all the heart and He is exalted above all gods.

• As members of the Church in this dispensation of grace, we can rejoice that nothing will prevent God's plans, purposes, and promises from being fulfilled - for both the people of Israel and for the Christian Church.

• Until then, we proclaim the Lord's death and rejoice in His glorious Resurrection.

• We are to rejoice always, to pray constantly, and to give thanks in everything, knowing that this is God's will for each of His children.

• It caused him to rejoice in the Lord and to offer thanksgiving and praise for the sure knowledge that His plans and purposes for the salvation of His people is sure.

• We will rejoice and be glad in it.
• This is a psalm that rejoices over our great salvation and points directly to the Lord Jesus as our mighty Deliverer. 
• This is the song of rejoicing and praise which Israel will sing on that thrilling morning when their long-awaited Messiah rides into Jerusalem in power and great glory at His second advent.
• What rejoicing will flood the earth for this is the great day towards which the Lord's plan of redemption has been steadily moving for millennia.
• This is the day when there will be a resounding chorus of great joy, as all God's people unite together with one great chorus of praise, as we sing in unison, This is the day that the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it. Oh give thanks to the Lord for He is good, His mercy endures forever.
• This will be a day of great rejoicing and much joy, a day of blessing and grace, of health and happiness, of righteousness and justice, of prosperity, peace and pardon.
• We WILL rejoice and be glad in it!

• He rejoiced that they were not lacking in any spiritual gift.
• We should not become puffed up because of our spiritual gift or exploit it for our own purposes. Rather, we should rejoice that our names are written in heaven, praising Him that He has regarded us with His loving-kindness and tender mercies.

• Should this not rejoice our hearts and fill us with such assurance that His promises and pledge will similarly stand fast and surely be fulfilled.

• He wanted them to grow in grace, walk in spirit and truth, mature in the faith, love as Christ loved, live in unity with one another, and rejoice in the Lord always.

• After having been struck dumb for nine months because he doubted God's power to give him and his elderly wife, Elisabeth, a child – Zechariah's son, John, was born amidst much rejoicing and praise.Zechariah was an elderly priest who was given a wonderful answer to prayer.
• Despite being struck dumb throughout his wife's pregnancy because he initially doubted God's Word, the joy that flooded Zechariah's heart was soon being proclaimed in a beautiful psalm of praise which he sang at the child's birth. He rejoiced because his child was to prepare the way for the promised Messiah, and he blessed the Lord God of Israel for visiting His people, as Scripture foretold.
• He was to be a descendant of the great king David, as foretold by prophets of old, and He would bring salvation to His people, Israel.Zechariah quoted many Old Testament verses in his beautiful song of thanksgiving, which pointed to the Lord Jesus Who would bring salvation to Israel, deliverance from their enemies, and freedom from the hands of all who hated them.He rejoiced that God remembered His holy covenant with Israel and gave thanks that the Lord had not forgotten the oath which He swore to his forefather, Abraham, that He Himself would rescue His people from the hand of their enemies and that they would serve Him without fear, in holiness and righteousness, all the days of their life.Zechariah proclaimed that the One to come would give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death.

• May we not only run to win the prize for ourselves through godly living, but that we rejoice with all our brothers and sisters in Christ with whom we have interacted in our Christian life, as together we watch for the any day return of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

• What joy and gladness rejoices the heart and mind of the one whose faith does not waver in unbelief at the promises of God, for he will be strengthened in His faith and give glory to God.

• Their weak faith did not rejoice when the women testified of the empty tomb.

• The quality of love to which John referred in his letter is a love that rejoices in the truth; a love that bears all things; believes all things; hopes all things; endures all things - a love that never fails.
• And he rejoiced that the elect lady's children were walking in the truth - in keeping with a command received from the Father from the beginning - to love one another; to love each other as Christ loved us - to love others with a sacrificial love that is ready and willing to love the truth and to speak the truth in love.

• Today, Israel looks back on their redemption from Egypt and rejoice.
• But all who trust in God's only begotten Son rejoice that we have been redeemed from the pit of death and destruction, and the only acceptable redemption price was the precious blood of our Saviour, Jesus Christ our Lord.

• Being translated from darkness to light and from the kingdom of Satan into God's kingdom of light, should cause each of us to rejoice evermore and to give never-ending thanks and praise for the work He has done within us.

• He wrote so that when he came to visit them, he would not find them downhearted or despondent, but filled with rejoicing.
• He wanted to be confident that his joy in seeing them would be reflected in the delight they felt towards him.Paul made up his mind that he would not make another painful visit to these believers without repairing any damage first – and so he wrote his letter to make sure that any ongoing feelings of resentment, offence, or pain towards him, were gone:I wrote as I did, he explained, so that when I came I would not be distressed by those who should have made me rejoice, - because of bickering, ungodly behaviour, or worldly carnality.Paul's earlier letter of correction was to halt their carnality and their fall from grace, and re-establish their spiritual development in the Lord.
• He wrote it so that his next visit would not cause him continuing sorrow over their stunted, spiritual growth, but that their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ would be a cause of great rejoicing for Paul and great joy for these saints of God.

• We are charged in many places to seek after wisdom and to ask the Lord for wisdom; to rejoice in wisdom and to get wisdom, for wisdom brings with it strength and shelter, help and hope.

• Even in those darkest days of your life, if you can lift up your voice to rejoice in the Lord and praise His holy name, you will discover that the Lord is indeed holy, and our God Who died so that we might live eternally truly does inhabit the praises of His people.

• It is Israel that is seen greatly rejoicing in this prophetic verse: I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.
• It is the little remnant of faithful Israel who are depicted as rejoicing in the Lord because the time is coming when their promised Messiah will come and 'tabernacle' among His people and will lead God’s covenant nation in joyful praises to the Lord.
• The people of Israel should have rejoiced in the Lord Who came to save His people from their sin and clothe them in the robe of righteousness, but they rejected Him and had Him crucified as a criminal.
• Israel should have greatly rejoiced in the Lord and been filled with joy, but they did not recognise the day of their visitation.
• And in that day, Israel will greatly rejoice in the Lord, proclaiming: He has cleansed us of our sin, covered us in a robe of righteousness for His name's sake, and turned our desert into a garden, where every man will sit under His fig tree and the earth will be filled with the glory of God as the waters cover the sea.
• Israel's night of weeping will be turned into a morning of great rejoicing, and the little remnant will sing joyful songs of praise to the God of their fathers.
• They will cry out in unison: I delight greatly in the LORD; my soul rejoices in my God.
• And like Israel, we who have already been saved by grace through faith in the Messiah rejoice today, for we too have been dressed in His heavenly mantle of salvation and we too have been draped in His royal robe of righteousness.
• We also greatly rejoice in the Lord our God and how our soul delights in the God of our salvation Who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ, for He chose us in Him before the creation of the world, to be holy and blameless in His sight.
• What a cause of great joy and rejoicing to know that the gifts of God are glorious and without number.

• David was able to eventually cry in all his distresses and pain: I have trusted in Your lovingkindness; My heart shall rejoice in Your salvation.
• Hear my prayer and let my cry come unto You 'in case my enemies think they have prevailed against me and start to rejoice!'
• David came to understand that we are to rejoice in the Lord and in the power of His might, and that in everything by prayer and supplication we are to look to Jesus and make our requests known to the Lord.
• My heart shall rejoice in Your salvation.
• One of the vital lessons of life we all must learn is that when God is given His rightful place in our lives, we too will be given the sufficient strength to live godly in Christ Jesus and will be enabled to rejoice in the Lord always and to sing praises to His holy name, even in our distresses and pain.
• He is our God and our hearts shall rejoice.

• As Christians, we should rejoice and be glad to consider the blessing that is given to those who hear, and read, and take to heart all that is written in Revelation.

• A multitude without number will be saved during the Tribulation period and serve the Lord for 1000 years, and sing songs of rejoicing to the Lord.

• The Psalmist is David, the shepherd king of Israel, who rejoices that his hope and strength in the Lord.
• He expresses delight that God has given him victory over his foes: The king rejoices in Your strength, O LORD.
• How greatly he rejoices in Your deliverance.
• In Your salvation how greatly we rejoice!
• Not only does the Lord give Israel victory on the battlefield, but their ultimate salvation is through Christ. The great victory about which David is rejoicing is not simply related to a past historical victory but reaches into a future, worldwide deliverance, when the enemies of God will be utterly destroyed from the face of the earth, those who seek to thwart Christ's coming kingdom will retreat in terror, and the Lord God of Israel will be highly exalted in all the earth.

• They sang a special song - a different song - they sang a new song which should rejoice the heart of ALL who have been saved by grace through faith in Christ: Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for Thou wast slain, and hast redeemed US to God by Thy blood.
• Others consider that these elders are angels who are rejoicing about Christ's redemption of mankind.

• When God's order is followed, a husband will not fall prey to jealousy or arrogance, nor will he act unbecomingly, but will rejoice in righteousness and truth.

• At a time when much of the Body of Christ seems to have lost its way and has succumbed to many false doctrines that are infiltrating many churches, let us rejoice with Israel and sing: Who is a God like You, Who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of his inheritance? You do not stay angry forever, but delight to show mercy.

• Paul had been flung into prison for defending the gospel, but rather than having a negative effect on the Church, he rejoiced because his imprisonment accelerated the spread of the gospel.

• It was David who wrote this song of praise, who rejoices that the whole earth, its harvest, its fruitfulness and life itself belongs to our God.
• He is the King of glory, and a day is coming when He will pass through the gates of Jerusalem and enter the city for His glorious coronation, and all who have been declared righteous will rejoice.
• As the blessed citizens of the Holy City rejoice that the King of kings is coming in, so the very gates of Jerusalem will be flung open to admit their great and mighty King.

• We are commanded to put on a Christlike mind that does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices in the truth – by bearing all things, believing all things, hoping all things, and enduring all things.May we be kept from the dark blindness of hatred, and instead, may we continue developing the mind of Christ – for we have the treasure of the indwelling Spirit of Christ within our earthen bodies so that the surpassing greatness of His power within, will be of God and not from ourselves.

• When the man or woman of God seeks to abstain from all appearance of evil for the right reasons, our times of worship will not only glorify God, but also rejoice our heart.

• But we also rejoice for the wonderful way that God used Esther and her uncle in bringing good out of evil, and forwarding His plans and purposes, despite the evil ways of man and the compromises of His children.
• Perhaps we should rejoice that God will use sinners, such as you and me, to bless others and to increase our own spiritual temperature, and perhaps we should recognise that God is in control of this fallen world system and use this story to develop our personal trust in God and maintain a growing faith in His Word.

• This is indeed a cause for rejoicing, for by faith we have been declared righteous and brought into the family of God, and it is by grace through faith that we have been made a joint-heir with Christ and given a share in His glory, when in fact we merited nothing more than eternal damnation.

• Similarly, every warning that God has given to the ungodly, and those who spurn His Word, ignore His warnings and rejoice in iniquity, will be fulfilled.

• The true nature of fallen man not only delights in evil, but has a predisposition towards giving a half-truth, a distorted truth, a part truth, or a non-truth, and yet we are told that LOVE does not delight in evil but LOVE rejoices in the truth.

• John was getting on in years and he knew that his letter would not only rejoice his own heart, but would bring spiritual joy to all who are one in Christ; a mutually beneficial joy; joy unspeakable and full of glory!

• It does not take into account a wrong suffered, nor does it rejoice in unrighteousness.

• But the day is coming when all Israel will be saved – just before the Millenium begins, at the end of the coming Great Tribulation, they will repent as a nation.The day IS coming when Israel will finally recognise Christ as God's anointed King and will rejoice to see the rescheduled day of their second visitation.

• And we who have trusted in Christ as Saviour and seek to live Spirit-filled godly lives, rejoice with exceeding great joy for the faithful testimony of this little remnant of believing Jews, who were the first to testify of the death, burial, and Resurrection of the Lamb of God Who takes away the sin of the world.

• We are to believe His promises and hold fast to the Word of truth.Just as fretting should be overtaken by trust when God is the focus of our attention, so faith expands into joy when we delight ourselves in the Lord and make Him the singular joy and rejoicing of our heart. Delight yourself in the Lord, we are told.

• And knowing that in this world we will have tribulation, troubles, and sorrows, we can rejoice that Christ has overcome the world.

• The truths that are packed into these early verses of the epistle to the Ephesians should rejoice our heart, steady our soul, dispel our doubts, and strengthen our faith, and we should thank Him continuously for our great salvation and the many precious promises that are ours in Christ.
• And we should rejoice: To the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved.

• But for the little remnant of Israel who trust in the Lord and hold fast to the many Messianic promises, the words of Zephaniah should be an encouragement, for despite all the wickedness and evil that is manufactured by sinful men, and the fires of God's wrath that will come upon the whole earth, he writes that God will one day remove His hand of judgement from His chosen nation, and as King of Israel, will live among His people, calm them in His love, and rejoice over them with singing.

• My horn is exulted in God, was Hannah’s exultant prayer of praise and thanksgiving, My mouth speaks boldly against my enemies, because I rejoice in Your salvation… The bows of the mighty are shattered, but the feeble gird on strength… The LORD will judge the ends of the earth.

• Peter reminds us that the testing of our faith is more precious than gold and calls on us to rejoice despite being distressed by various difficulties, while Paul encourages us to exult in our trials, knowing that tribulation is a necessary step towards spiritual growth and godly wisdom.

• Only Christians can rejoice that Jesus is alive for evermore.
• Their long night of weeping and pain turned into a beautiful morning of joy and rejoicing.

• Paul calls us to rejoice in the Lord always, even during those difficult times of testing.

• But his opening hymn of rejoicing quickly turned to a pleading prayer and heartfelt petition for more of God's grace and mercy.
• Will You not Yourself revive us again, so Your people may rejoice in You?
• Rejoicing in God our Saviour can never co-exist with unconfessed sin, and the psalmist clearly understood this.

• The hatred and revilings we receive because we are His should not surprise us - rather we should rejoice, for when we suffer on His account He is glorified and because we are identified with our Saviour, the Spirit of glory and God rests upon us.In the early days of the Church, it was considered to be a privilege to be considered worthy to be persecuted for the cause of Christ, and believers rejoiced that they could suffer shame for His name’s sake.
• Should we not identify with Christ as partners in His suffering and rejoice since we are partakers in His humiliation?Although we do not glorify God FOR the suffering we have to endure, we ought to glorify God IN our suffering and we should glorify Him for all that He will accomplish THROUGH our pain and persecution.

• Paul tells the Philippians how to keep the peace of God ruling our heart; we are to rejoice in the Lord continually; we are to let our gentle spirit be known to others; we are not to be anxious, but in everything by prayer, supplication, and thanksgiving, we are let our requests be made known to God.
• As we live in a world that longs for peace and yet denies the Prince of peace Who alone brings unity to this troubled place, may we rejoice in God our Saviour and display a gentle spirit in all we say and do.

• And how we rejoice as well, for His promises to the Church are equally true and altogether righteous - for they are all yes and amen through Christ Jesus our Lord.

• And as we go through life, we are even called to rejoice in our adversities, knowing that adversity and suffering works endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope.

• We rejoice to know that He is with us in every action, every place, and every decision we make in our lives.

• The return of Christ to set up His Millennial Kingdom, the destruction of the wicked, the rejoicing in heaven that accompanies His second advent as Supreme Ruler of the universe, and the marriage supper of the Lamb, are the topics of focus in Revelation chapter 19. 
• Once the loud rejoicing of a great multitude in heaven have testified that the Lord God Omnipotent reigns, and having pronounced that His judgement is just, His salvation is sure, and His glory and power belongs to God, we are treated to the most awe-inspiring description of the Lord Jesus.

• As he reflected on his many exploits, he found himself rejoicing that God had rescued him from his enemies on many occasions.
• And David rejoiced in the God of his salvation.
• It is a psalm in which David rejoices in God, his Saviour.
• It recalls the many times the Lord protected David from His enemies and it rejoices in the way He displays the might of His power.
• On many similar occasions and in some of his other writings David rehearsed the same theme of rejoicing in God and exalting His holy name.
• No doubt, as David reflected on life and living, in the knowledge that the Messiah was coming one day to sit on his throne and establish an everlasting kingdom, that David cried out, blessed be my Rock and exalted be the GOD of my salvation.  David knew his Saviour was coming one day, and together with all Old Testament saints, he looked forward to that day of redemption and rejoiced in the God of their salvation, Who was to come.

• Mary was the blessed vessel that God used to bring forth the Son of His love into the world, and together with Mary we all look to Jesus as the Author and Finisher of our faith: My soul doth magnify the Lord and my spirit has rejoiced in God my Saviour, was her glorious song of rejoicing which was recorded in Scripture - when she praised God that the child in her womb was indeed her own God and Saviour.

• We have waited for Him and we will be glad and rejoice in His salvation.
• By grace we have been saved from the wrath to come and we rejoice in our salvation from Christ’s finished work on Calvary.
• It was for the joy that was set before Him that the Lord Jesus endured the Cross, and it is with hopeful expectation and joyful anticipation that we wait for His any-day return, when He will take us to be with Himself forever, and how we rejoice in our sure salvation.
• We will be glad and rejoice in His salvation.

• The psalmist cannot deny that in the Lord is light and truth and in this verse he is able to rejoice and proclaim, I will go to the altar of God.

• He boldly proclaims that nothing can shake his deep trust in his Lord his God and it rejoices his heart to make mention of the Lord's perfect righteousness and His never-failing faithfulness.This man proclaims that God had been his daily support in times past, and he bears witness that into the twilight years of his journey through life, the Lord alone remains his ongoing strength and everlasting song.
• Wonderful though it is to see the Lord at work in the life of a child or young adult, there is something very special about the elderly saint who has walked with the Lord for many decades, who continues to proclaim the wonderful works of God and to rejoice in the righteousness that comes from His alone.
• While we rejoice in our great salvation, may we go forward in the strength of the Lord our God, and make mention of His goodness, His grace, and His eternal righteousness.

• And along with David, we can all rejoice that, He brought me up out of the pit of destruction, out of the miry clay, and He set my feet upon a rock - making my footsteps firm. 

• Paul knew the importance of having a close relationship with His Saviour, which caused him to rejoice and say, The life I now live in the flesh, I live by the faith of the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself for me.

• The old priest had been filled with doubt when the angel announced the good news, but with the birth of his son he was filled with the Spirit and inspired to articulate a most beautiful hymn of rejoicing and prophesy of the imminent arrival of Israel's longed-for Messiah.

• Let the heavens be glad, and the earth rejoice.
• And let them say among the nations, 'the Lord God reigns.' David instructed the angelic host in heaven and the people on the earth, to rejoice in the Lord, when the Ark of the Lord was returned to Jerusalem.
• This was a day of great rejoicing and on that day, David decreed that thanks and praise be offered to the Lord by Asaph and his relatives.
• Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice, he wrote.
• The hills rejoice, and the trees clap their hands together, while little lambs skip on the grassy plain and waters wash over the sea.
• But it is not only the heavens that are called to be glad, and the earth to rejoice below, but the Psalmist is encouraging all men everywhere to speak of the glory of God. The people of God and the nations of the world are encouraged to proclaim the wonders of His name and to cry aloud together, The LORD reigns!
• But the superlative expression of God's glory, which must warrant our eternal rejoicing, is found in the gracious person of our Lord Jesus Christ.
• May it be our daily prayer that those who do not rejoice in Christ Jesus as Saviour, come to a saving knowledge of His grace and mercy, while it is still today.
• Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice.

• Paul rejoiced to see that their trust in Christ had become a wonderful witness to the world as the glorious gospel of God's grace was spread abroad through their testimony.

• Throughout His ministry, we see many Gentiles putting their trust in Jesus and in this passage, we rejoice to find a Canaanite woman, from the region of Tyre and Sidon, being saved by grace and having her demon-possessed daughter restored to full health and a sound mind.

• The joy of the Lord is our strength, and we are called to: Rejoice evermore, to pray without ceasing, and in everything give thanks, for this is God's will for all His children.
• The joy of the Lord is indeed our strength, and we are called to rejoice evermore, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all things, and live in godly unity with one another.

• It was as David reflected on the mighty wisdom of God and the way He protected His forefathers in times gone by, that he could rejoice that God will continue to strengthen His people and to bless them with His perfect peace that passes understanding.

• They have submitted to a yoke of slavery rather than cherishing our freedom in Christ, and rejoicing in the hope of our salvation.

• If we could simply alter our outlook and accept that the persecution of Christians in this world honours Christ and that any suffering we endure for righteousness’s sake brings glory to our Father in heaven, then we would be able to rejoice in the midst of our suffering, knowing that name of Christ is lifted up and the Spirit of glory rests upon us!

• The evil plot to wipe Israel off the face of the earth was halted and we read: And on the fourteenth day they rested and made it a day of feasting and rejoicing.

• He praised them for their constant witness and concern for the gospel and rejoiced over the good work that God had started in each of their lives.
• The former proclaimed Christ out of selfish ambition rather than from pure motives, hoping to cause Paul distress in his imprisonment... nevertheless, he rejoiced that Christ's name was being spread abroad: And in this, he wrote, I rejoice.
• Yes, and I will rejoice.
• May we rejoice when other doctrinally sound ministries are sharing the truth of the gospel of grace - even when they do so from wrong motives or because of some unfounded jealousy or resentment they may have towards us.

• Like Israel, we too give grateful thanks and praise to Him for His faithfulness to His children, and we too rejoice in His long-suffering forbearance towards us: His goodness, His grace, and His everlasting mercy.

• Peter calls us to rejoice in Christ and His sufficient grace, since we have tasted and seen that the Lord is good: For the Word of the Lord endures forever, and we are His people and the sheep of his pasture.

• Jesus is neither irritable nor resentful, and Jesus does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but He rejoices with the truth - for He is the Truth.

• Let us rejoice in the enormous privileges that are ours in Christ Jesus, but let us also take on board the great responsibility we have for living a life that honours the Lord, by putting off the old man and putting on the new.

• Let us ponder on these words, rejoice in the Lord always, and be content in Him, for He has promised, I will never leave you nor will I forsake you.

• This wonderful, worshipful Psalm of David, exalts the name of the Lord most high and rejoices in the glorious splendour of His wonderful works.

• My God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus, is a verse we all love to quote as we rejoice in the abundant supply of our generous God Who is overflowing with gracious-mercy and bubbling over with loving-kindness.
• But as much as we rejoice that all good things come from God and delight to quote this verse as an encouragement to one another and as a testimony to God's gracious provision, it is important to read this verse in its correct context and discover why Paul gave this great promise of abundant supply to his readers.
• May we also rejoice to be children of our great and generous God and be ready and willing to honour the Lord with all our possessions and finances.

• Paul's closing remarks in his epistle, start to challenge the more spiritually mature believer who may rejoice in the gracious liberty he has in Christ Jesus while harbouring his own ungodly attitudes towards the personal practice of those that are weaker in the faith, exposing an unchristian bias against those that are spiritually immature or weaker in certain doctrinal issues.

• We are also exhorted to rejoice with exceeding great joy, for the position, privileges, and promises that are ours in Christ, but Paul is equally keen that we never forget the depths of depravity and sin from which we have been rescued.
• We discover our position, individually and corporately, and rejoice to hear of the multiplied privileges and precious promises from God, which are all 'yes' and 'amen' in Christ Jesus our Lord.

• No wonder David was able to rejoice that those who look for the Lord are filled with joyful hope.
• Yes, we can rejoice and say with all the saints: I will bless the LORD at all times.
• The humble will hear it and rejoice.
• The humble will hear it and rejoice.

• The precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart.

• Let us also rejoice that even on those days when our faith wears thin and we lose heart, HE always remains faithful, His right hand always supports us, and the satisfaction that comes from Him fulfils us completely.

• Judah will celebrate the Rock of Ages and the Lord Himself will rejoice over His redeemed people, with singing. It is in the middle of chapter 26 that a remnant of the house of Judah are seen celebrating a future event, when a repentant, redeemed, and restored Israel will have been reinstated as God's righteous nation, and set apart unto Him. They rejoice in their restored faith in the God of their salvation, on Whom they depend and through Whom comes the perfect peace of God which confounds all human understanding.
• But God has promised to save those that trust in Him, and the joyful song of celebration which the remnant of Judah sang, rejoices with the words: Lord, You will establish peace for us, since You have also performed for us all our works.

• May we, like Paul, rejoice in the privileges that are ours by faith and consider the accompanying responsibilities as blessings to share rather than a burden to carry.

• How we rejoice, for this is one facet of the cut diamond of His immeasurable grace with which God has chosen to bless us.It was not happenstance or fate, good luck, or a happy fluke that rendered us so blessed, but a beautiful showering of His wonderful love on all who believe in Jesus Christ, for which we praise His wonderful name which deserves to be glorified into the eternal ages to come.
• While rejoicing in the truth of election - where God chose us before the foundation of the world, some reformed denominations sadly reject the need for unsaved men to use their free will to respond to the truth of the gospel through faith in Christ.

• Paul began his epistle to the Thessalonians with much rejoicing and thanksgiving.
• He gave thanks for the good news of their eternal salvation and rejoiced over their work of faith, their labour of love, and the steadfast hope they had in Christ.

• Such a work of the Spirit takes place in the ongoing refining process of sanctification as we die to self, live for Christ, rejoice in the Lord, pray without ceasing, grow in grace, and mature in the faith.

• This verse contains a quote from Psalm 95, which begins with exuberant rejoicing in the God of our salvation and yet concludes with a warning from Yahweh Himself to pay heed to His voice and not to develop a rebellious heart of unbelief, like the Israelites in the wilderness: Today, if you would hear His voice, do not harden your hearts, as at Meribah, as in the day of Massah in the wilderness, when your fathers tested Me, is the same dire warning from the Psalmist to which we need to respond in these increasingly difficult times: They tried Me, even though they had seen My work for forty years.

• His delight is in the law of the Lord, he meditates on the things of God day and night, and rejoices in God his Saviour.

• The devil and all his armies must first be overthrown GOD's way, before the angelic chorus will rejoice that, the kingdom of this world has become the kingdom of our God and of His Christ.

• The freewill offering was to come from a heart that rejoiced in the Lord and praised His name for His goodness and kindness, mercy and grace.

• And Paul was able to rejoice in his suffering for the Body of Christ, for in so doing he knew that he was sharing in Christ's suffering: And was filling up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ for His Body's sake, which is the Church.

• Let us rejoice and be glad that God has given us eternal life both now and in the ages to come, which is ours by grace through faith in Christ Jesus our Saviour.

• During her visit to her cousin, Elisabeth, the young Mary, who must have reflected frequently on the amazing mysteries which were told to her by the angel Gabriel, exploded into an ecstatic song of rejoicing praise and exultant exhilaration, as she sang her psalm of celebration - and marvelled at the wonderful work of God - her Saviour and her Lord.
• Her inner soul glorified the Lord God almighty for choosing her to be the vessel to bring the Son of God into the world, and her spirit rejoiced with exceeding great joy, My soul exalts the Lord.
• No wonder Mary said, my soul doth magnify the Lord and my spirit has rejoiced in God my Saviour.
• Her song of rejoicing is reminiscent of the song that Hannah sang when God opened her womb, and she gave birth to Samuel her firstborn son.
• Like Mary, Hannah also rejoiced in God her Saviour, as she highly exulted the Lord in her own song of joyful thanksgiving and praise.
• The rejoicing of our soul, is that part of man that contains our individuality.

• And although Micah was a prophet that wept and mourned for the sin of the nation and the coming destruction upon his people, he also was caused to rejoice that God would once again be the good Shepherd of Israel - Who would wipe away every tear from their eye.

• The final section of the epistle to James, encourages prayer in times of suffering, in times of rejoicing, and also in times of sickness.

• This is a verse that rejoices our hearts, for this Throne of Grace is the eternal seat of the sovereign Lord of heaven and earth, Whose mercy-seat has covered our sins forever.

• It was David who cried out to the Lord in his distress, and it was David who rejoiced that the Lord put a new song in his mouth, a song of praise to our God, a song that would cause many to see, and to fear, and to put their trust in Him.
• This caused David to rejoice in songs of praise which in turn encouraged others to see the wonderful works of God and restore their own failing faith in their God.
• But His mercies are new every morning, and His loving-kindness is demonstrated in multiple ways with every passing day, and so it is appropriate that we also sing new songs of praise and thanksgiving that rejoice in God, our Saviour.
• It is right and proper that we joyfully sing the old songs that tell out His miraculous conception and birth, His Word of truth that has rejoiced our soul, His sacrificial death, glorious Resurrection, spectacular Ascension, and the blessed hope we have in His soon return.
• It is good and right that we rejoice in the Lord with songs of praise and never fail to fashion new and resounding songs in our hearts and mouths that honour the God Who has redeemed us from the horrible pit, rescued us from the miry clay, set our feet upon a rock, and established our goings-out and our comings-in.

• May we live in the reality of who we are in Christ and rejoice in the freedom that He has brought.

• And for us, to live as God desires us to live, is to learn in all things to rejoice and say: My bread is to do the will of My Father, so that no matter what we face in life we can say with Jesus: Thy will not mine be done.

• However, it is increasingly necessary to rightly divide the Word of Truth so that we do not find ourselves trying to live under the Law or living before the Law, instead of rejoicing that we are not living under the Law, but under Grace.

• As we rejoice in our great salvation, let us become increasingly familiar with the truth of the gospel.

• Jotham finished his parable by saying that IF they had acted honestly and done righteously in going along with Abimelech's plan to make him their king, and rewarded him appropriately, THEN their actions would have honoured his father Gideon, and they would have been able to rejoice and it would be well for them.

• Paul touches briefly on numerous qualities and characteristics that should be the hallmark of a child of God who is walking in spirit and truth, encouraging us to be kindly affectionate to each other; rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, diligent in prayer, and given to hospitality.

• Let us rejoice and be glad in the one finished sacrifice for sin and praise our Lord and Saviour for His grace and favour.

• And by the power of His indwelling Spirit, we can exult in our tribulations and rejoice in our afflictions, knowing that the trials of life bring about endurance and perseverance.
• The fact that we who were dead in sin have been delivered from future condemnation and are presently and eternally reconciled with God, should cause us to rejoice through time and into the eternal ages to come.

• Let us be careful not to fall into the traps of biased interpretation or learned prejudice which may distort the truth of the glorious gospel of God, and let us rejoice that He graciously used those early apostles and prophets to pen the Scriptures for our learning.

• How this answer must have rejoiced the heart of our Saviour for it demonstrated true faith in the Word of God.

• Nevertheless, he rejoiced to remind them of the great benefits that are the birthright of all who are saved.
• He rejoiced that we were chosen in Christ before the foundation of the world, are blameless in the sight of the Father, and will one day stand before Him in love.

• It was on the third day that He came to the little home in Bethany to mourn for His friend and to turn their night of grief into a morning or joy and rejoicing.

• It is in praise of Him that this wonderful chorus of rejoicing and worship will resound throughout the universe, when the enemy of our soul has been routed, and the gracious plans and wise purposes of God, (in establishing Christ in His rightful position on the throne of the universe) will be finally accomplished.

• How this should rejoice the heart of the child of God, for there is nothing that can be hidden from the Lord.

• His servants will eat, but the wicked will be hungry. God's servants will rejoice, but the wicked will be put to shame.

• May we rejoice in the liberty we have in Christ while learning to be considerate towards the need and sensitivities of others.

• May we rejoice in His many precious promises to us, which are 'yes' and 'amen' in Christ, and may we truly value the intimate and privileged relationship we can enjoy with our God and Father in heaven.

• May we continuously rejoice in the Lord, pray without ceasing, and in everything give thanks; for the glory of God the Father and Jesus Christ, Whom He has sent.

• And it rejoiced Paul's heart to know that this young minister's concern for the church at Philippi, reflected his own yearning love for them.

• We have an eternal, unbreakable union with the Lord Jesus, for we have been eternally accepted in the Beloved by grace through faith – but sweet fellowship with Him can be broken and our life can dishonour His name – for if we choose to walk in darkness, we are lying and not practicing the truth.Holy living is not simply a spotless exterior but an inner mind that is clean, and a heart that is broken before the Lord; a spirit that rejoices in the truth; a soul that delights itself in the Lord.

• As Church age believers, we rejoice that Jesus is our Saviour Who redeemed us from the irreversible penalty of sin and its enslaving power over us, by His amazing grace.
• How we rejoice that the wages of sin have been paid in full by Christ on our behalf, and we have been declared righteous in His sight.
• How we rejoice that we are clothed in Christ's righteousness and become new creatures in Him.

• No surprise that he continued to rejoice with the words, Now therefore, O LORD God, the word that You have spoken concerning Your servant, David, and his house - confirm it forever and do as You have spoken so that the house of Your servant David be established before You - that Your name may be magnified forever - and so that the nations will say, 'The LORD of hosts is God over Israel.'

• Knowing how God used Mordecai and Queen Esther to save the Jewish race from extinction, and being able to rejoice at the wonderful way that God saved His people from the hand of wicked Haman, who was obsessed with exterminating the Hebrew race, does not absolve the ungodly behaviour of Mordecai and Hadassah, nor does it excuse the people of God from compromising their faith in the Lord, or adopting pagan principles and practices.
• Although we continue to rejoice at the wonderful way God saved His people from the enemy who sought to annihilate them, I am sure that the Lord could have used them in a different way to rescue Israel from extinction, without them needing to compromise their faith.

• The disciples would have roughly pushed these little ones aside for more worthy personages, but Jesus welcomed them all with open arms and great rejoicing, knowing their trusting hearts were ever open towards Him.

• He came to His own people to claim His rightful position as Israel's King through the line of David, but instead of rejoicing that Scripture was being fulfilled, they crucified Him.

• However, there are a number of warnings designed to prevent the spiritual believer from suffering the loss of reward, by reverting into a carnal Christianity or legalistic practices, and here we are warned: We are the Household of God, if we hold fast our confidence and the rejoicing of our hope, firm until the end.

• No wonder that in the midst of this heavenly scene and amidst the great angelic rejoicing, John wept uncontrollably because there was no one who was worthy to break the seal and open the scroll.

• He further details our complete and unconditional acceptance by God because we are positioned in Christ by faith, and he rejoices in the hope of our calling, the riches of His inheritance in the saints, and the exceeding greatness of His power towards us which is manifest in the salvation of Jew and Gentile together in one new Man.

• Perhaps the most glorious occasion was the Feast of Tabernacles, which promised a time of great joy and rejoicing when God would one day come to tabernacle on earth, among His people.

• John rejoiced because like him, they were accepted in the Beloved, indwelt by the Holy Sprit, seated in heavenly places, and walking in spirit and truth.
• John rejoiced because the truth of the glorious gospel of grace abode, remained, and rested in the heart of this precious sister in Christ and her family (as it does in all who have been saved by grace through faith in Christ), and John gave additional assurance that this gospel truth would remain with them all forever.

• Surely this truth should rejoice our soul through time and into eternity and should prompt us to tell forth this truth to the next generation and all who will listen?

• And so this was to be seen as an occasion of joy and great rejoicing.

• May we stand firm on the Rock of our salvation; rejoicing in the Lord, praying without ceasing, and giving thanks in everything– knowing that such a mindset will remain steadfast and immovable.

• It was a time of rejoicing and thanksgiving for God's gracious provision to His people.
• Celebrating the Feast of Booths in the time of Ezra was a time of much rejoicing.

• When we sing to the Lord of the wonders of His amazing grace with every breath of our being and glory in the joy of our salvation, then our thoughts will be pleasing to the Lord and our hearts will also rejoice in the God our Saviour.
• I will sing to the Lord as long as I live;I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.May my praise be pleasing to Him;As for me, I shall rejoice in the Lord.

• We rejoice to know that the mind-set of those walking in spirit and truth is life and peace, through the power of the indwelling Spirit, and that by His grace we have been made alive, through Christ Jesus our Lord. 

• Peter begins his first epistle with a most glorious doxology, praising God and exalting His holy name: Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, he writes Who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. And his wonder, excitement, and joy in the Lord is not diminished at the end of his letter, for we find him continuing to rejoice in the God of his salvation and lifting up the name of the Lord: To Him be glory and dominion forever and ever.
• We can even rejoice in our suffering, because when our faith is tested God will be with us, and His grace is perfected in our weakness and our helpless estate.

• In the midst of much rejoicing and great joy, David made all the necessary preparations for the building of the House of the Lord.
•  Let us worship Him together in the beauty of holiness, reverence, and with great rejoicing, for He is exalted over all and He is highly to be praised.

• But we who are Gentiles, rejoice that He also came to earth as Saviour of the world.

• Jesus was praying to His Father when God pulled back the curtain from His holy, hidden presence and rejoiced over Him with these words of blessed assurance and hallowed grace.

• No matter who wrote this song, the psalmist clearly wanted to encourage his countrymen to remember their redemption and rejoice in the God of their salvation.
• How this should rejoice our hearts!

• David, the Psalmist, is finally is moved to rapturous rejoicing as he brings this fourth section to a close with warnings against ingratitude, murmuring, self-will, idolatry, and gross disobedience, followed by the most glorious doxology of praise and thanksgiving: Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel from everlasting even to everlasting.

• And how it must have rejoiced the Father's heart that He finished the work God gave Him to do.

• And it was as the nation once again rejoiced with joy in remembrance of God's promise that He is the Rock of their salvation from Whom flows the water of life, that the Lord Jesus Christ, the Holy One of Israel about Whom they were singing, stood up and cried with a loud voice: If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink.

• The Colossian Christians exemplified a little group of believers who were walking in spirit and truth and who had brought forth the spiritual fruit of faith, hope, and love in abundance, and Paul rejoiced to hear that individually and collectively they were growing in grace and in a knowledge of their Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
• Further, we discover that they rejoiced with a deep-seated hope, knowing the joy that was stored up for them in heaven, all of which was evidence of their devotion to the Lord and to one another.

• Day by day, let us rejoice in the Lord our God, and lift up our hearts in prayer and praise, for He alone is worthy.

• Taking the baby Jesus in his arms, Simeon rejoiced in his heart, blessed the Lord, and was moved to utter a magnificent psalm of praise, extolling God for His faithfulness in keeping His promise to Israel.

• And so Paul was able to rejoice - not because they were made sorrowful but because their sorrow brought them to godly repentance, which is our Father's will for all His straying children.

• Although over 500 people rejoiced to meet their risen Saviour, only 120 were to be found in the right place at the right time when the fledgling Church was birthed, and those present were all baptised with the Holy Spirit, as promised by the Lord Jesus Himself at His Ascension.

• What a glorious hymn of praise David penned, for though originally written to rejoice in the everlasting faithfulness of the Lord towards His people, Israel, this beautiful verse is as relevant today for the Church.

• No wonder that, without exception, those of us who are His blood-bought children rejoice to sing forth His praises - not only with our lips but in our lives, by giving ourselves up into His services and by walking before Him all the days of our life, in holiness and righteousness through Jesus Christ our Lord, our God and Saviour.

• We have been made a new creation in Christ and have been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb... and as saved saints, we should not be content to simply worship the Lord in the isolation of our own hearts, but should desire to rejoice in spirit and truth together with others who have, in like manner, been rescued from the pit of destruction and securely placed into the family of God.

• Finally, let us rejoice that the power of God to change the unbelieving hearts of the ungodly is the same in our own generation as it was in Paul's day.

• God knows the importance of praise, the power of prayer, and the benefits that accompany a thankful heart in the life of a believer, which is why so many writers of Scripture exhort us to rejoice in the Lord, to pray without ceasing, and in everything to give thanks.
• Although He was rejected at His first coming, this magnificent song of praise and thanksgiving that rejoices in his never-failing faithfulness throughout the generations and which glories in His return, will resound throughout the whole earth as Israel gathers to welcome their King.
• They will rejoice in God's unfailing faithfulness and extol the name of the Lord.

• His greeting to these believers and his fervent prayer for their spiritual development, godly discernment, and increasing depth of love for one another, seems contradictory to the chains that confined him, but Paul rejoices for this great opportunity to share the gospel of Christ with condemned sinners.

• How we should rejoice when we consider the wonderful wisdom, vast knowledge, and unsurpassed understanding of our God and all that it means to us.
• And all who are saved by grace through faith can rejoice in Christ Who is the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

• Let us rejoice that the life-giving power of the Spirit through union with Christ Jesus, has set us free from the power of sin and death.

• However, when aspirations are achieved and plans come to fruition, what rejoicing fills the heart: When the desire is fulfilled it is a Tree of Life. 

• We are to rejoice that Christ is our life.

• We are no less privileged than those believers who received Peter's letters and read them so many years ago, for we have the full and final canon of Scripture to feed our hearts, rejoice our spirits, direct our decision, and guide us into all truth.

• The Psalmist rejoiced when he looked at the heavens and considered the work of God's creative fingers.

• Praise to our thrice holy God should be the ongoing song of rejoicing of all the elect, for we have not only been forgiven of our sin and saved from the shocking consequences of sin, but we have been accepted by the Father in the Beloved and seated with Him in heavenly places.

• As we look back to Christ's Resurrection, we rejoice that He was willing to die as the substitute for our sin and rise again on the third day.
• There was no outward appearance of rejoicing, but it does appear that a mixture of doubt and wonderment filled the heart of this young apostle whom Jesus loved because we read that he saw and believed once he had seen the grave clothes neatly lying there.

• May we who rejoice in the truth of God's Word, seek to be men and women of integrity and godly character.

• The old sin nature (the old man in Adam) and the works that emanate from the flesh, cannot delight in the law of the Lord nor can they rejoice in the truth of His Word, for the flesh lusts against the spirit and the spirit against the flesh.
• The inner man (the new life in Christ) joyfully delights in the law of the Lord and rejoices in His Word.
• John tells us that this new life in Christ cannot sin; this new life always delights in the light and life of God's law, and rejoices in the truth of His Word of grace.

• A chorus of singers and a company of dancers will rejoice with songs of praise, while players on flutes and other musical instruments will make a joyful noise to the Lord throughout the city streets of Zion, as they cry out in praise and thanksgiving, All my springs of joy are in You.

• Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, for great is your reward in heaven.

• How the unsaved masses of the world will rejoice when the two witnesses of God are silenced, but after three and a half days, great fear will fall on the masses of ungodly people when the lifeless bodies of God's two witnesses are resurrected and they ascend into heaven.
• We rejoice to know that nothing in heaven, on earth, or under the earth can prevent God's plans and purposes, for both His Church and His people Israel, from its final fulfilment.

• He rejoiced in our reconciliation with God, through the shed blood of Christ, which was not by works of the law but by faith in Him.

• And so at the beginning of his epistle, he calls us to consider the various trials we face as pure joy, and the inevitable difficulties that come our way as a glorious opportunity to rejoice in the Lord, the Rock of our salvation.
• We can seek to battle through in our own strength, wondering if God really cares as the pressure increases until we finally give-up, or we can remember that God is in control, we can rejoice in the Lord and consider it pure joy, recognising it as one of the various trials which God will use to fine-tune our faith, increase our dependence upon Him, develop our Christian character, and bring us closer to spiritual maturity.

• Instead, he rejoiced that he was a prisoner of Jesus Christ, blessed to be able to fellowship in the suffering of the Lord, Whom he loved so dearly.

• The pin-point accuracy of fulfilled prophecy is an amazing testimony to the authority and truth of Scripture, which rejoices the heart and legitimises its content.

• Although Paul rejoiced to think that the Philippian Christians had kindly supported his ministry, he wanted to get across to them that whether we have little or much, we are to remain content and joyful in all things.

• They had expected to find a dead Messiah but instead they rejoiced to hear news of their risen Saviour.

• We are to rejoice that we have a holy calling and have been saved for a purpose: to share the testimony of Christ Who died and rose again for us.

• John's heart rejoiced because this lady and some of her children, knew the truth of the gospel of Christ and were walking in the light of the gospel of grace.
• We do not know the identity of this chosen lady, but she was a woman who had loved and trusted the Lord Jesus Christ for her salvation and had wisely taught this truth to her children, and John had no doubt ministered to her and rejoiced to see her and her family grow in a knowledge of the truth.

• In a few, short, crisp verses, Paul sums up all that is necessary to live a life that is pleasing to the Lord and in verse 12, we are encouraged to rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.
• To rejoice in hope is to have that unfaltering assurance in God's Word as fact, knowing that our hope of glory is secured for us in heavenly places for the eternal ages to come, simply because God's Word is true and cannot be broken.

• We rejoice to know that God's plans and purposes can never be thwarted and that His promises to Abraham, Isaac, Israel, and David will certainly be fulfilled.

• Too often we simply commend the skill of the doctor or applaud the success of the prescribed medication, or we just rejoice for the health-giving supplement that was recommended for our complaint, by a caring friend.
• However, in this psalm we hear of David rejoicing in the Lord and extolling His goodness and grace as he sings a song of grateful thanks and praise for restoring him to health and strength: O LORD my God, he sings joyfully, I cried to You for help, and You healed me!
• We do not know what ailed this celebrated king of Israel, but his illness certainly delighted his enemies, for the psalm begins: I will extol You, O LORD, for You have lifted me up, and have not let my enemies rejoice over me.

• In Romans, we rejoice at the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God.
• Similarly, the apostle Peter also rejoiced in God and gave glory to His name when he considered the amazing and over-abounding grace of God, and instructed believers: Grow in the grace and in a knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, Who is worthy of all honour and glory, both now and to the day of eternity.
• Paul's spontaneous outburst of worship and praise in this passage, came after he had pronounced a truth that should rejoice the hearts of all God's children: Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever, Amen.
• The Church is the Body of Christ, and in this verse it is the power of God working through the Church that rejoices the heart of the apostle.
• Should this not rejoice the heart of every member of the Body of Christ?

• Those who hold fast to the truth of His Word rejoice because He is the only secure shelter from the storms of life.

• They rejoice to think of Christ leading these evil forces as His captive trophies, as He entered into His glory.
• No doubt all the angelic hosts rejoiced at His jubilant entrance into heaven, after having made atonement for our sins and the sin of the whole world.

• We rejoice that Satan, sin, death, hell, and all that is evil is thrown into the Lake of Fire, and we stand in awe of the coming of the King of kings with His armies of heaven, the unimaginable beauty of the New Jerusalem, the sparkling River of the water of Life as clear as crystal, and the return to earth of the Tree of Life with its 12 luscious fruit (which has been guarded by cherubim since sin entered the world, lest fallen man should eat of its fruit and live eternally in a fallen body).

• There is much need for prayer and intercession in this suffering world, and there is much cause for praise and rejoicing... for God's gracious sufficiency.
• The psalmist reminds us that men should pray to Him continually and praise him all day long... while Paul calls us to rejoice evermore, pray without ceasing, and in everything to give thanks - for this is God's will for each one of us.
• Suffering is the segment of life that should cause us to engage in much prayer and earnest entreaties, while Christ's gracious provision should elicit much rejoicing and cheerfulness of heart.

• Had she and the other disciples heeded Christ's words, they would have known that this darkest stain on the history of the world would break forth into the most brilliant eternal day of joy and rejoicing, in which death is swallowed up in victory.
• Mary's love for Jesus is something about which we rejoice greatly.

• It was given so that they might have a period of leisure in order to meditate on the Scriptures and rejoice in God's goodness and grace.

• We rejoice that Jesus is the eternal Son of God.

• He encourages all believers to live in peace with one another and to give encouragement and help to all who are members of the Body of Christ, because he himself knows that the joy of the Lord is our strength, Paul calls on his brothers and sisters in Christ to rejoice in the Lord and to keep on rejoicing together in harmony of heart.

• Arrogant and wicked people will be utterly consumed like stubble, but those who trust in the Lord with all their heart will rejoice and be glad.

• The song of rejoicing that Zechariah sang at the celebration of the birth of his baby son, was a touching foretelling of the important, prophetic role his child would play in life and times of Israel and their promised Messiah.
• The angel had told Zacharias that he would have great joy and gladness, and that many would rejoice at his son's birth: For he will be great in the sight of the Lord.

• John and all of us who have believed on the Lord Jesus Christ have a promised hope that can never fail, for Jesus (The Man Who is God and the God Who is Man) broke the power of Satan, sin, death, and hell, at the Cross, and although its final fulfilment is yet future, we can rejoice greatly knowing that the Lion from the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has overcome, and HE IS able to open the book.
• Let us rejoice that  one day soon, He will begin to unseal those seven seals on the scroll, and in so doing will set the stage for the final scene in God's amazing plan of redemption.

• David is grieved at the profane acts and futile vanity of the sons of men who dishonour God and blaspheme His holy name, but he also rejoices that the Lord has set apart for Himself those that are godly, those who honour His name, obey His Word, and trust in His unfailing faithfulness.
• He rejoiced in the One that blessed in preference to counting his blessings.

• It is a mystery that was planned in eternity past, a mystery that came to fruition when we trusted in Christ's finished work at Calvary, a mystery that caused heaven to rejoice and hell to tremble.

• Practical godliness, a good understanding of our Lord Jesus Christ, and a heart that continuously rejoices in the Lord no matter what struggles we may be facing, is a test of our wisdom: For the fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all those who do His commandments; His praise endures forever.

• One priceless thing that rejoices our soul is the utter faithfulness of God to His people.

• It is through faith in Him we have access to God's amazing grace which enables us to stand fast in this evil day... and causes us to rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.
• Paul clearly teaches that we should exalt in our tribulations and rejoice in our sufferings.
• Rejoicing in suffering may not seem the normal reaction to trials and tribulations.
• We are not called to rejoice because we are suffering.
• We are to rejoice IN our suffering.
• We are to rejoice in the Lord, no matter what problems we may be called upon to face.
• Let us take to heart this exhortation to rejoice in our suffering, for as members of the Body of Christ, we have been blessed with every spiritual blessing - not only in this world, but in the ages to come - praise His holy name.

• Gideon rejoiced in all the wonderful deeds that the Lord had done for their forefathers, while David lifted up his voice and sang praises to the Lord as he meditated on the wonderful works of God.

• Paul rejoiced to hear that these Christian converts were not only standing firm in the faith but growing in grace.
• Indeed, Paul wrote that he not only rejoiced before our God on their account, but kept on praying most earnestly, night and day, that he might visit them in order to bring any deficiencies of their faith to perfection, to fill up what was lacking in their faith.

• The Lord has done it this very day; let us rejoice today and be glad.

• He exhorts us to engage in ongoing rejoicing and ceaseless prayer, as we take every thought captive to Christ.
• He knows that gratitude and rejoicing is no companion of dissatisfaction or murmuring, and so we are encouraged to give thanks in everything, even those difficult, daily circumstances, knowing that His grace is sufficient for those that are in Christ Jesus.

• May we be so immersed in Christ Jesus our Lord that we are thus enabled to glory in the God of our salvation and to rejoice in the bright hope for the future.

• She must have been confused as she recalled her song of joy at the announcement of His birth: My soul exalts the Lord, she had sung 33 years before, and my spirit has rejoiced in God my Saviour.
• She failed to understand her Child was born to die - so that she and all who believe could rejoice in Him as God MY Saviour.

• The Lord is glorified in the praise and worship of His people, and what joy and rejoicing there was on this momentous day of great gladness in the city of the God when the Ark of the Covenant was finally brought back into the midst of His people, after decades of absence.
• But finally the Ark was returned amidst great rejoicing, and we read that king David danced with joy before the Lord and assigned Asaph and his relatives to give thanks to the LORD: Oh give thanks to the LORD, call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples.
• Glory in His holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice!
• A greater than Solomon will be forever seated on king David's throne and there will be great joy and much rejoicing: For the earth will be filled with the glory of God as the waters cover the sea.
• Glory in His holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice!

• Paul is exhorting all believers who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus to pray constantly, and this call to pray follows his instruction to rejoice always, for the heart that rejoices in the Lord is the one that will keep their eyes fixed on Jesus and their thoughts trained upon their Saviour.

• May we delight in the Lord our God, and rejoice that He is the God and Father of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, Who made the heavens and the earth by His mighty power and outstretched arm.
• Let us rejoice that we have been saved by grace through faith in Him and that NOTHING, absolutely nothing is too difficult for Him.

• We are to live godly lives in Christ Jesus and we are also called to develop an attitude of rejoicing.
• Indeed, we are exhorted to: Rejoice evermore.
• As redeemed children of God and joint-heirs with Christ who are clothed with His righteousness, in-dwelt by the Spirit of God, and who have an eternal inheritance prepared for us in heaven, we have much to cause us to rejoice evermore.
• Let us rejoice continuously and give honour to the God of our salvation for the great and glorious things that he has done for us.
• Therefore, let us rejoice evermore; and again I say rejoice!

• All believers should walk in humility of heart and rejoice that their name is written in the Lamb's Book of Life, for everyone's earthly life, whether rich or poor, is as fleeting and temporal as the wayside flower or the grass of the field, but OUR hope is in Christ.

• Instead of rejoicing in the truth, they were offended in Him and believed the lie of Satan.

• He rejoices in our positional union in Christ and details the mystery of the Church, which had been hidden for ages and generations, but which the Lord permitted him to share with believers, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

• OH, we rejoice that our citizenship is in heaven and that our eternal future is secure in Christ!

• There were times when they served the Lord with gladness of heart and much rejoicing, and other occasions when they followed after the lifeless gods of the pagan nations.

• When we discover that it is the new, born-again, sinless nature of Christ, which we received at salvation that cannot sin... and not the old, fallen, sinful nature, which must be kept in the place of death and 'nailed to the Cross', we can understand the beautiful truth that, no one, who is born of God, sins, and we can further rejoice that, the Son of God protects us from the evil one who has no power to harm us.
• Let us rejoice that because we received the sinless nature of Christ, by grace through faith, we cannot sin!

• In his letter to the Philippians, he explained the joy that such self-sacrifice brings to the faithful servant of God: For even if I am being poured out as a drink offering upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, he explained, I rejoice and share my joy with you all.
• We all live in a fallen world, and every one of us will suffer trials and tribulation, but if in His power and grace, we remain sober in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfil our ministries courageously, and become a living sacrifice unto the Lord, we too will be able to rejoice in the Lord always, and articulate the joy that is ours in serving our great God and Saviour. 

• Moses no doubt recalled the anticipation they felt as the angel of death passed over the blood-stained lintels of their homes on Passover night and the intense joy they expressed as they rejoiced on the far side of the Red Sea, having witnessed their enemies being swept beneath the raging waters.

• Foolishly, they chose to remain bound by the restrictions of the Mosaic Law (which were no longer in force) instead of rejoicing in their freedom in Christ, which was theirs by grace.

• Paul's prayer was a prayer of thanks and rejoicing for their faith, hope, and love, and it was a request to their Heavenly Father that they might be filled with the knowledge of God's will in all wisdom, grace and spiritual understanding.

• Continuously shout out joyfully to the LORD, all the earth: Rejoice and be glad, we are instructed, and make merry before the Lord.
• The earth is to rejoice, the sea is to roar, the mountains are to break forth in shrill shouts of joy, and the meadows are to clothe themselves with flocks of sheep and array themselves with sweet-smelling flowers, as a tribute to the great God Who made them all.
• It is not simply the chosen nation of Israel that is to rejoice in the Lord, but an invitation has been extended to the four corners of every nation to lift up their united voices in songs of praise to the Lord God Almighty.
• Let us rejoice in the Lord always, with trumpet and harp, with timbral and dancing, with stringed instruments and pipes, with loud, resounding cymbals and pretty tinkling bells.

• But God will never renounce the plans and purposes He has for His people, and in Psalm 138, David rejoices that a day is coming when God's promises to His people will finally be fulfilled.

• My soul shall rejoice in God my Saviour... and all who are humble of heart will hear the good news of the gospel of grace and be glad.

• He urges the inhabitants of the isle and those that go down to the sea in ships to rejoice in the God of our salvation.
• He calls men and women from the four corners of the earth to rejoice together and sing praises to our God and Redeemer.

• Uniting as one in joyful psalms of rejoicing, and lifting up our voices together in spiritual songs and harmonious hymns of praise, is the exciting theme that threads its way throughout the entire Bible, but is very evident in this well-loved Psalm which calls for people of every nation to: Make a joyful noise unto the Lord.
• Miriam rejoiced with tambourine and dancing, when she sang her grateful hymn of praise on the far side of the Red Sea, following their escape from Egypt: Sing to the Lord, for He is highly exalted, she sang rejoicingly, the horse and his rider He has thrown into the sea.
• It was a song of rejoicing that moved the Lord to act on behalf of His people, Israel, following the pleading prayer of king Jehoshaphat: For when they began singing and praising, the Lord set ambushes against the sons of Ammon, Moab and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah, so they were routed!
• There is nothing more beautiful than to rejoice and praise our Almighty God Who loved us so much, that He gave His only begotten Son so that whosoever believes on Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 

• It is as Paul draws his letters to a close, that he adds greetings from other saints of God and often introduces brief words of encouragement and succinct directives to pray, rejoice, give thanks, abound in good works, trust in God's supply, and glorify our heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, our great God and Saviour.
• And in a world where the love of many has grown cold, may we delight to meet with our brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus our Lord, and take every opportunity to rejoice with them that we are one in Him and that our names are written in heaven.

• Despite his distress and cries for vindication, David finished his lament with a rejoicing song of praise and thanksgiving: Let them shout for joy and rejoice, he cried out in the final verse: Let them say continually, 'The LORD be magnified, because He delights in the prosperity of His servant.

• The foolish denial of God's existence by unregenerate man indicates someone who rejects his own accountability to God, refuses to acknowledge the sovereignty of God, rejoices in his own prideful rebellion against God, and delights to declare that there is no God.

• It is for Christ's sake that we can be glad in our difficulties and rejoice in our distresses, and it is for the sake of Christ Jesus our Lord that we can be content in persecution and pain.

• Some years earlier, Paul had written extensively to this same Church to rejoice in their divine election, their adoption into the family of God, the privileges of the indwelling Holy Spirit, and the spiritual blessings that have been poured out in such abundance on all who have trusted Christ for salvation.

• The spiritual growth and maturity of these believers, who were living in the hub of the Roman empire, was a tremendous testimony to their spiritual growth, which caused Paul's heart to rejoice over them with great joy.
• And so he drew his epic epistle to its final conclusion by explaining, because the report of your obedience has reached everyone, I am rejoicing over you, but I want you to be wise in what is good and innocent in what is evil. 

• Their mouths were filled with laughter and their tongues rejoiced exceedingly when a proclamation was made that they were to return to Israel, to rebuild the city of their ancestors, and to restore the Temple of God, which had been destroyed by Nebuchadnezzar so many decades before.
• No surprise that the exiles rejoiced and sang: The Lord has done great things for us and we are filled with joy.

• On his first visit to these believers at Philippi, Paul was flung into jail, but his midnight songs of rejoicing resulted in the salvation of the jailer and all his house, by grace through faith in Christ.

• Rather, it rejoices in the truth: Bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things, and never ever fails.

• Let us search out and rejoice in the unfathomable treasures of God's Word, which are hidden within the pages of Scripture.

• No doubt, on that first day of the week, they rejoiced to have Paul in their midst and doubtless listened intently to his message and ministry, until the hour of midnight.

• Oh, at first, they started to rejoice and cried out AMEN, AMEN, but as Ezra continued to read the Scriptures, they started to realise how deeply they had fallen into sin and how far they had wandered away from the truth of God's Word, and both men and women began to mourn and grieve deeply.
• Like Israel, we should not remain in self-condemnation, but rejoice that there is now no condemnation to those that are in Christ Jesus.
• And let us in everything, by prayer and praise, rejoice in the Lord and abide in His love, for the joy of the Lord is indeed our strength, through time and into eternity.

• Although He had many critics who did their best to discredit His claim, their baseless accusations were silenced and the common people of Israel rejoiced because of the wonderful miracles Jesus did in their midst.

• But for those that have seen the light of the glorious gospel of Christ and have been awakened from their worldly, narcotic slumbers, there is no more profoundly wonderful truth which warms the soul and rejoices the heart.

• But He was quick to point out that their joy should not be focused on the gifts, abilities, honour, and acclaim, that God had graciously bestowed on them - but rather, that they should rejoice that their names were written in the Book of Life.
• And although we should delight to praise God for the many blessings we receive from Him, day by day, let us rejoice in heart, soul, mind, and strength that our names are written in heaven.

• These believers had set at naught the wisdom and power of the Cross by boasting, rejoicing, and glorying in themselves.

• Paul quoted David's exultant prophetic utterance from Psalm 16, which caused his heart to be glad, his tongue to rejoice, and his flesh to rest in hope: You will not leave my soul in Hades, or allow Your Holy One to see decay.

• How foolish, therefore, to glory in the riches of this world rather than to rejoice in that which is of eternal worth and kept for us in heaven.

• How this rejoiced the heart of the apostle Paul, who kept this group of Christian believers continually in his prayers.

• May we study to show ourselves approved unto God and rejoice in the riches of His grace, knowing that we have been given all we need for life and godliness, and it is all contained within the holy Scriptures.

• Paul calls us repeatedly to rejoice in the Lord, and does not grow tired of encouraging us to rejoice and to keep on rejoicing in Him, for he knows that there is a thief that will rob us of the peace of God, the joy of our salvation, and the eternal hope we have in our heavenly promises.
• We are called upon to rejoice and to keep on rejoicing, for in so doing we will establish a Christ-focussed attitude of heart and an ever-present antidote to all that would rob us of our faith, hope, and joy in the Lord.
• Paul views godly rejoicing in the Lord as the antidote to all that seeks to rob us of our eternal security in Christ and our blessed hope that is found in Him alone, for it is a protection against false teachers.
• Paul knows that rejoicing in the Lord is a defence against doctrines of demons, and a safeguard that exposes legalistic practices and the abhorrent false spirituality that is flooding the Church today, which denies the finished work of Christ on the Cross.
• Let us reverently rejoice in the Lord, keep on rejoicing, and encourage others to do the same - knowing that is a God-given safeguard against all that would rob us of our faith in Christ.

• And as he neared the end of this epistle of encouragement to his brothers in Christ, he repeatedly called each one of us to rejoice in the Lord - to be joyful in God our Saviour - to delight ourselves in Christ our Lord.
• And as our perspective changes, the things of the earth lose their vice like grip on us, and the things of Christ become our focus, then the only natural result is an outpouring of rejoicing in our Lord.
• Let us heed this final call of our dear brother in Christ to rejoice in the Lord, and again I say rejoice.

• Paul even rejoiced in his suffering for Christ's sake and recognised that such hardships are short-lived when viewed from an eternal perspective.
• Paul rejoiced and was glad to have suffered in this way because it produced a harvest of born-again souls to the glory of God, and he wanted these dear saints at Philippi to rejoice in like manner, because we share a mutual joy in the Lord
• When any of God's children are called upon to suffer hardships for the sake of Christ, we should seek to adopt the same godly attitude that Paul displayed in his letter to the Philippians: to rejoice in our sufferings for the sake of Christ and for His glory, knowing that the difficulties of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that will one day be revealed to all who suffered for His name's sake.

• He knows just when to call us aside to rest awhile; it is His streams that make glad the city of God, and His pools of refreshment that rejoice the hearts of all His people.

• James considers the various trials that come our way to be 'all joy' and calls us to 'rejoice in our sufferings' knowing that through them our faith will be tested.
• Peter also encouraged us: Rejoice insofar as you share in Christ's sufferings, knowing that you will also be overjoyed when His glory is revealed.

• He was filled with joy when others came to a saving faith in Christ and he rejoiced when sinners were transferred from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of God's dear Son.
• And Paul rejoiced with great joy when he remembered the Christians who had received the glorious gospel of grace, believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, and started their lifelong journey towards spiritual maturity and Christian understanding.
• How he rejoiced to know that these believers in Philippi were growing in grace and gaining a mature knowledge of Jesus.It must have been a great joy for the Philippian Christians to receive and read this encouraging epistle from Paul.
• In a depressed world that is increasingly focussed on 'self', how important to rejoice in the Lord always, to remember that our blessings come to us continuously from God, to be increasingly thankful for the brothers and sisters He has placed in our path and to lift up one another in prayer and praise with grateful thanks and gracious hearts.

• Suffering is part of our passage through life, but when we willingly suffer for Christ (Who Himself suffered so that we might be forgiven of our sins and freed from the pain of eternal death to the joys of eternal life), it can become an opportunity for rejoicing, an opportunity to glorify His name.
• When bound in chains in a Roman prison, the apostle Paul, was able to cry: I rejoice in my sufferings, for he not only drew on the power of Christ's Resurrection, but was identified with his Saviour.
• Like Christ's other apostles, Paul could rejoice that he was worthy to suffer as a Christian, to suffer for the name of Jesus Christ, his Redeemer and Lord.
• But Paul also rejoiced that he was able to suffer on behalf of other Christians.
• Paul was given sufficient grace to rejoice in his suffering, and this can be a reality in the lives of all believers.
• But only when a man or woman has Christ at the centre and circumference of their lives can they discover joy in pain, and rejoice in their suffering.
• Let us be willing to rejoice in our sufferings from Christ Who has done so much for us.
• And may we have such an eternal perspective that we can really rejoice in our earthly sufferings, knowing it is for our good and for His glory.

• How we rejoice to know that where two or three are gathered together in the name of the Lord Jesus, He has promised to be there among us, for He is our living Head and we are all members of His Body.

• Paul rejoiced that in the past, these believers had come to a knowledge of the gospel of grace; in the present, they were demonstrating the love of Christ in their lives; and they looked to the future with joyful hope, knowing that one day they would: Ever be with the Lord.
• And how this rejoiced the heart of Christ's faithful bond-servant.

• John gave witness that his joy was complete because Christ, the Bridegroom, had come, and he, the friend of the Bridegroom, rejoiced greatly because the Messiah was in their midsts.
• No wonder John the Baptist rejoiced with exceeding great joy when he was given the privilege of preparing the way of the Lord, and being entrusted with spiritual truths that are now being manifested in the lives of all God's children.

• He grieved when they were slow of heart to learn, reprimanded them when they fell into sin, corrected them when they were lured into error, rejoiced with them as they grew in grace, and instructed them so they would become increasingly mature in the faith.Paul’s great desire for the saints at Philippi was that they become rooted and grounded in the Word of truth, so that their love for God and their love for one another would continue to grow and multiply.

• The suffering of the saint is often a badge of honour, for in this age we are called to share in the suffering of Christ but will one day rejoice and exult when His glory is revealed.

• His heart rejoiced knowing they were his partners in the gospel of Jesus Christ, from the moment they trusted Him as Saviour.

• It was to be a time of great rejoicing and new beginnings, a time of liberty and freedom, where any wrongs were put right.

• However, this innumerable multitude is seen rejoicing before the throne of God and we read that by His grace, they have been saved by faith in Christ's sacrificial death and have, washed their robes..

• The first flickering flame of faith was lit when this weeping man when he remembered God is the eternal Creator and cried out: Long ago You established the earth, and the heavens are the work of Your hands. He continued to proclaim the eternal qualities of God: Even they will perish, but You endure forever; they will wear out like a garment; Like clothing You will change them, and they will be changed. Finally, he rejoiced that God is faithful and unchanging: You are the same, and Your years will not come to an end.

• Wise men had travelled from the east to worship Him and had asked King Herod, where is He that is born King of the Jews?  Indeed, the religious leaders quickly supplied the correct answer from their holy Scriptures, In Bethlehem of Judea, they proudly announced, for this is what has been written by the prophet, Micah: 'and you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the princes of Judah; for out of you shall come forth a Ruler who will shepherd My people Israel.'  But why didn't these knowledgeable Scribes and Pharisees join the wise men in their holy search and rejoice with them that Micah's great prophecy had finally been fulfilled.
• He remained unable to speak during his wife's pregnancy, yet this old man prophesied of the soon arrival of the Messiah, at his son's own miraculous birth, Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, Zechariah proclaimed, for God has visited us and has accomplished redemption for His people, Israel. He has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the royal house of David His servant.  Zechariah rejoiced that Old Testament prophecy was being fulfilled and prophesied of things to come.
• So WHY did these religious priests and Pharisees ignore the shepherd's testimony, the inquiry of the wise men, the fulfilment of Micah's prophecy, the proclamations of Zechariah, the songs of Simeon, the old priest, and Anna, the aged widow woman... both of whom rejoiced publicly and took the baby Jesus in their arms and blessed Him at His dedication service in the Temple of God?

• And so David rejoiced with thanksgiving and praise, and prayed: The LORD hath heard my supplication; the LORD will receive my prayer.

• Our heart rejoices as Paul continues to teach that Jesus will one day hand the redeemed creation back to God, and then Paul describes the wonderful new body with which we will one day be clothed.
• Let us rejoice and be glad as we watch and wait in holy anticipation for this blessed hope, and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Saviour, Christ Jesus our Lord.

• When we first heard the good news that Jesus died and rose again to pay the price for our sins and that salvation is God's gift of grace to all sinners who believe in His only begotten Son, our hearts rejoiced with great joy.

• Let us never forget to rejoice that the earth and everything in it, the world and all its inhabitants, belong to the Lord.

• David expressed his joyful satisfaction and confidence in the God of his salvation, with a truth that must rejoice the heart of every sinner, saved by grace.
• Assuredly, this is a truth that must rejoice the heart of all God's blood-bought children; a truth that each one of us can treasure in our hearts and rejoice with singing, as we look for our blessed hope and journey towards our heavenly home.

• There are many mysteries of our new life in Christ that are hard to understand, which remain a reality in the life of all who believe, and Paul's illustration of a believer's 'death to sin' through their 'baptism into Christ' is a difficult concept to grasp, while remaining a glorious truth in which to rejoice.
• but a glorious truth in which to rejoice.

• May we never be ashamed of our great God and Saviour but rejoice that our suffering glorifies His holy name. 

• This will begin with a time Great Tribulation when God pours out His wrath on those who refused His offer of salvation, while a multitude without number will call on the name of the Lord and rejoice together with all the heavenly congregation that salvation belongs to our God and to the Lamb.
• At the end of Christ's millennial rule on earth, He will destroy every last vestige of evil and the redeemed will rejoice when He hands back the kingdom to God and Father, after He has abolished all rule and all authority and every demonic power.

• But how the joy they expressed was misunderstood, for we read that the people were perplexed and some misinterpreted their rejoicing about the wonderful works of God for drunkenness.

• He is rejoicing in the wonderful promises that are founded on the blood of Christ – the gospel that removes all who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ from the condemnation of the Law, for the free gift of God is eternal life to all who believe on Christ.
• Because of the glories of the wonderful gospel of Christ, where the life and light of salvation flows to all who believe, Paul rejoices to teach the good news of God's saving grace and to set out the truth of Scripture because he knew that it was only by God's grace that he himself had been saved.
• Day by day, let us be those that continue to rejoice in the wonderful gospel of Christ, for the more we open our hearts to Him, the more He will show Himself to us.

• God is not a hard task-master but a good and gracious Provider, and in this Psalm, the people of Israel were called to rejoice in the God of their salvation and to sing for joy to the Lord Who is their strength.
• There are so many lessons we can learn from Israel's failure and so many reasons to rejoice in the God of our salvation.

• He gives grace to the humble and rejoices over us with singing.

• The free-man should recognise that he is a bond-servant of the Lord, while the slave should rejoice in his freedom in Christ regardless of His chains: For we are bought with a price and should not become slaves of men.

• It is no wonder that David rejoiced, in Psalm 32, with his outburst of joy: How blessed is the man to whom the LORD does not impute iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit!

• Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great; for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

• When we look at the Cross, we often only think of the forgiveness of sins that is provided – and had forgiveness of sins been the only gift of grace that we received, it would certainly cause eternal rejoicing.

• And as they poured out their soul to their Father in heaven, they remembered His never-failing goodness and began to rejoice in the assurance of His grace.

• Rather than rejoicing that the Spirit of Truth would not only be with them but would one day dwell within their bodies and guide them into all truth - they became depressed and miserable about His departure.

• And God wants each of His own of His children to rejoice in this wonderful truth; that we can all enjoy a personal and intimate relationship with Him, every day of our life.
• Let us rejoice as David did, and thank Him for His undivided attention, His undiminished love, His undiluted grace, and His unending salvation.

• But as for Your righteous ones, David concluded, as for me, he rejoiced, I will continue beholding Your face in righteousness. As for me, I will be satisfied with Your presence and content when I awake at the resurrection of God’s holy one, for I will be satisfied with Your likeness.

• So much exciting truth has been condensed into a few short verses in Psalm 103, that it should rejoice our heart, still our soul, provide encouragement, and cause us to gaze in utter wonderment and awe at the God Who created us, redeemed us, and upholds us moment by moment by the might of His powerful hand.

• When the righteous increase, the people rejoice.

• As the story of Esther progresses, we can identify a series of events in the palace of Persia which the Lord used to turn the imminent massacre of the entire Jewish nation into a wonderful time of praise and rejoicing.

• The early Church had heard Christ's teaching, witnessed His miracles, watched as He was nailed to the Cross, and rejoiced, three days later, when He rose from the dead.

• We don't know when Christ will come for the Church, but in the time we have left, may we rejoice evermore, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all things and tell out the good news of the gospel of the Grace of God to those that are lost - for the time is short.

• There is true security in trusting in the almighty God of our salvation and along with the Psalmist, we also can rejoice that we who dwell under the shelter of our God and Saviour are shielded and protected under the shadow of His wing.

• How we all delight to read through the chapter on faith in the book of Hebrews, and rejoice as we consider the exploits of so many godly men and women of faith.

• However, instead of rejoicing over their salvation, Jonah accused God of being too merciful!

• Paul rejoiced to see that by the grace of God, his fellow believers in Rome were wholeheartedly committed to the gospel of Christ, which he himself delivered by revelation from God.

• No wonder the disciples gazed in utter amazement when Christ ascended into heaven, and how the reassuring words of these heavenly messengers must have rejoiced their hearts: Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky?

• It is the glory of God within, and Paul wants us to rejoice at the surpassing greatness of the privilege that is ours - and that the power within, will be of God and not of ourselves.

• This is a beautiful song of rejoicing in the Lord where the theme of thanksgiving and praise for the goodness of God and His everlasting mercy, threads its way like a shining thread from beginning to end.
• Although the Psalmist rehearses the many ways that God in His grace rescued His people from Egyptian bondage, supplied their need in their wilderness wanderings, opened the prison doors of the captives, healed those that were seriously ill, delivered His people from terrible storms, and governed His people Israel with goodness and grace, this is a beautiful song of rejoicing that all the redeemed of the Lord are able to sing.

• Paul rejoiced when he considered the love and faith Philemon had for the Lord Jesus, and made reference to the joy, comfort, love, and refreshment he readily supplied to many other saints in the Lord.

• There are many material blessings that shine down on those who love and fear the Lord, for which we rejoice with exceeding great joy.

• When we obey His Word there is rejoicing in heaven, especially if a sinner is brought to repentance.

• And John, the elderly apostle, rejoiced with great joy that Gaius..
• John rejoiced to receive good tidings of this Christian brother, who was acting faithfully in his ministry role and was fruitful in his various endeavours.
• While the beloved apostle rejoiced greatly about Gaius' faithful work, his sincere testimony to the truth, and the love, friendship, and grace, he demonstrated to his Christian brothers and sisters, John needed to warn him about men like Diotrephes, and to exhort him not to follow his ungodly ways and teach him the godly way to live.

• The coming devastation would touch the lives of everyone, and the prophet grieved deeply that the sound of rejoicing and the praises of God's people would no longer resound throughout the city.

• We can therefore rejoice, because we are members of the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn.

• When things go well and the sun is shining, when we have just received a wonderful surprise or had some encouraging news of a dear loved one, how we rejoice and how our hearts are full of praise to the Lord.
• It is on these days of unexpected wonder and joyful delight that we lift up our voices and proclaim with the psalmist: This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it, and rightly so.
• This is also a day when we should rejoice and be glad in Him and the many blessings and wonders that the Lord has done for us.
• Before His crucifixion, the Lord Jesus wept over Jerusalem and prophesied, You will not see me until you cry, 'blessed is He that comes in the name of the Lord.' That is the Day when Israel will rejoice and proclaim together, This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

• May we declare His praises and rejoice in our great salvation.

• The Lord forms and fashions every single one, and the psalmist rejoices that God lays out the life-plan of each - and schedules every day of our lives.

• But David is a man after God's own heart, and although that does not preclude him from having to go through the inevitable trials and tribulations of life, his confidence stands firm in the goodness of the Lord and his bitter pleas for help come from a man who trusts in God's loving-kindness and rejoices in the joy of his salvation.

• We who are saved by grace through faith should rejoice greatly that our God is enthroned in the heavens, and His kingdom rules over ALL.
• They rejoiced because they were on their way to the city of Jerusalem, to worship the Lord God of heaven and earth.

• And he rejoiced because of all that occurred at Christ's Resurrection, Ascension, Glorification, and Exaltation to the right hand of God.

• And Paul rejoiced that when this group of Christians HEARD this message of truth, they BELIEVED, and when they believed they were immediately SEALED with the promised Holy Spirit.

• The day is coming when together with Mary we will all stand around the throne of grace and worship the Lamb that was slain for our sins, but in the meantime, we too can join in her psalm of exultation and sing, My soul exalts the Lord, my spirit has rejoiced in God my Saviour, for He has had regard for the humble state of His bond-slave.

• But we are called to rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that affliction works perseverance in the life of a saint.

• But, as in all his Psalms, David repeatedly recites the goodness of the Lord towards himself and rejoices in the loving-kindness of the God of His salvation.
• I rejoice to say, 'You are my God.'
• Let us rejoice in the Lord our God and proclaim with David: I trust in You O Lord, for You are my God.

• Let us rejoice and be glad that we have been saved by faith in His sacrificial death and glorious Resurrection, for Christ is the Head of the Church, we are members of His Body, in Him we have all we need for life and godliness.

• What an exquisite sound must have greeted their ears, when that immense celestial chorus joined that angelic messenger, as the entire host of angels lit up the night sky, and broke forth into their thrilling song of rejoicing, glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among men - with whom God is pleased.

• And so the writer to the Hebrews was able to announce with great joy and rejoicing: You have crowned Him with glory and honour, and have appointed Him over the works of Your hands.

• During Christ's ministry, He told his disciples not to rejoice that they could heal the sick or cast our demons.
• They were to rejoice that their names were written in heaven.
• Rather, we are to rejoice that our names are recorded in the Lamb's book of Life.

• The prophets rejoiced that their coming Messiah would sit on David's throne and save His people from their sins, but they diligently inquired into what time and what circumstances the indwelling Holy Spirit of Christ was indicating, when He testified to them in advance of the terrible messianic sufferings that their Messiah would have to endure, and the thrilling, heavenly glories that would follow.

• This incredible gift of a glorious, resurrected body, should rejoice the heart of all believers, for when we die, we are promised an immortal body that is far superior to the one we currently inhabit.

• Peter calls on us to develop a godly attitude towards suffering - even encouraging us to rejoice in our suffering and keep on rejoicing.
• When we do become partakers of His suffering, Peter exhorts us to, rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, for there is a depth of meaning in this verse that touches every member of the world-wide Mystical Body of Christ Jesus, which is the Church.
• And yet we are encouraged to rejoice in our sufferings, with exceeding great, and overflowing joy, knowing that it is for His sake that we are ill-treated all day long – for He is the living Head of His Mystical Body – the Body of Christ, which is the Church.We, of course, had no part in His atoning work at Calvary, for He alone was the sacrifice for the sin of the whole world.
• But, however painful and distressing life may become, we can also rejoice in the midst of our suffering, knowing that when His glory is finally revealed, we will rejoice with exceeding great joy.Paul tells us that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed in us, while James adds that suffering in this life develops, in us, a godly character and patient endurance, which is honouring to the Lord.
• As members of Christ’s Mystical Body, should we not joyfully identify with Christ’s earthly suffering – knowing that He lived and died so that we might be identified with His heavenly glory and live eternally?Yes, we should rejoice - exceedingly, that we as members of His Body and partakers of His sufferings – for it is by faith in His sacrificial death and glorious Resurrection that we have not only been forgiven of our sin and clothed in His righteousness, but we are His blood-bought children, who have a blessed hope, a glorious future, and life everlasting - amen.

• God Himself knows the immense benefits that we enjoy when we turn our eyes away from ourselves onto the Lord Jesus and look full into His wonderful face - which is why Paul reminds us in first Thessalonians to, rejoice evermore, pray without ceasing, and in everything to give thanks to the Lord, for this is God's will for us.

• It is not easily provoked and rejoices in the truth - and it is a love which never, ever fails.

• His cries for help turned into a song of rejoicing as he recalled God's faithfulness.
• Let us rejoice and be glad for God is our Defence and our Defender.

• Instead of rejoicing in Christ's finished work on their behalf, these born-again believers forget they have a new Christlike-life within and work at achieving an unattainable righteousness through their old sin nature.

• Christ's resurrection from the dead is an undeniable fact which should rejoice our heart, and Paul concludes his discourse with the following instructions, therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord.
• Let us never doubt God's Word, but rejoice to follow Paul's exhortation, to fulfil our calling enthusiastically, and to remain occupied at all times in the Lord's work, knowing that our toil is not fruitless in the Lord.

• During His earthly ministry, prayer was not only a vital part of life - but a subject about which the Lord taught often and an issue that should rejoice our hearts and become a vital element of our Christian walk.  

• While His words rejoice our souls, they caused the Pharisees of His day great consternation.

• His delay in the punishment of the wicked in the time of David concluded in joy and rejoicing - just as the multiplication of evil in our day will one day be halted in our lives too - and it will be to His praise and glory and for our eternal benefit.

• And speaking such words will edify the Body, rejoice the heart, give grace to all those who hear them, and honour our Father in heaven.

• It was Jesus whom Malachi called, the Sun of righteousness Who will come with healing in his wings, and Zechariah rejoiced that the Messiah had come to visit His people, and prophesied of their coming redemption and deliverance from their enemies.

• Paul rejoiced to see them grow in grace and mature in their Christian life.
• Over the years, Paul's life had become intertwined with the lives of these believers to the glory of Christ Jesus their Lord, and he was in prison for sharing the gospel of God with them: Even if I am being poured out as a drink offering upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I rejoice and share my joy with you all.
• Despite his hardship and suffering, Paul rejoiced that he had not laboured in vain with these dear Philippians Christians, who had not only embraced the glorious gospel of Christ by faith, but were themselves living sacrificially for their Lord.
• May we like them, joyfully present our own bodies and lives as a living sacrifice, holy unto the Lord, and may we also rejoice with exceeding great joy in the Lord, as we look to Jesus and keep our mind stayed on Him.

• The apostle had heard news of his generosity and self-sacrificial love during his imprisonment which caused him great joy, for Philemon was also a son in the faith and Paul rejoiced in his spiritual growth and the fruit he was producing.

• A magnificent song of praise bursts forth from the pen of the anonymous psalmist, as he summons together the host of heaven with all those that dwell on the earth, to worship the Lord... to praise His name and glorify Him with exultant shouts and great rejoicing of the heart.
• We are immediately raptured into an explosive outburst of ecstatic rejoicing that is calling on the highest heavens above to praise their great Creator.
• May we discover the wonders of Him anew, and swell the heavenly chorus with overflowing hearts of thanksgiving and praise to our great Creator and rejoice in the God of our Salvation.

• But instead of rejoicing in the God of their salvation and trusting His Word... they fell into murmurings, unbelief, and defiance of the Lord.

• If only believers would take what the Word of God says literally and believe what it says, so many would not be living their lives under condemnation but would be rejoicing in the Lord.

• But the rebellious hearts that withstand the testimony of these two witnesses and who rejoice when they are finally murdered by the Antichrist, will testify to their defiant disobedience to God's sovereign will.

• She pronounces an eternal truth that rejoices all who seek after the Lord with a needy heart, in humility of spirit, and a deep, hungering longing for Him.

• Despite being an old man of 99, whose wife was not only barren but at 90 years old, was well beyond the age of child-bearing, Abraham fell on his face and rejoiced.

• We who have been saved by grace through faith rejoice greatly for the forgiveness of sin and the redemption of our spirit, soul, and body.
• And the day is coming when the men of Israel and daughters of Zion will rejoice once again when: They see their Messiah coming in the clouds with great power and glory.
• Rejoice O men of Israel and be glad O daughters of Zion, for the day is fast approaching when you will cry: LOOK!

• He rejoices that his human spirit has been enlivened by the Holy Spirit and instead of being enslaved to sin, at enmity with God, under eternal condemnation, and without hope in the world, he becomes part of God's new creation in Christ, and is promised joy in the eternal ages to come.

• He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice.

• We are exhorted to shout for joy, to rejoice in the Lord always, and to make melodies to Him, both on a myriad of instruments and from the depth of our inner being.
• We are called to praise Him by faith with rejoicing praise and grateful thanksgiving, because the Word of the LORD is true.

• Let us rejoice and be glad for this irrevocable confirmation is in His written Word, that He will sustain us to the end - guiltless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

• This is a truth that rejoiced the heart of many who heard Peter's sermon on the day of Pentecost, and it has rejoiced the heart of millions more, who have believed on the Lord Jesus Christ and been saved by grace through faith in Him.

• May we take to heart all that we read in this glorious book and rejoice that NOTHING can separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

• Paul was not only able to rejoice in his sufferings, but was enabled to glorify in them as well: Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

• He rejoiced that all the wondrous works of God were being declared by men.
• The psalmist was so confident that God would judge the world in righteousness and equity, at His appointed time, that his praises resounded with a triumphant note of sure victory as he declared, And all the horns of the wicked He will cut off, but the horns of the righteous will be lifted up. He rejoiced in the prophetic certainty that God would one day cut down the strength of the wicked, while the strength of the righteous would be lifted up.
• And may we rejoice..

• And in his short outburst of praise, we discover king David rejoicing and singing in his heart by faith with thanksgiving: How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in harmony, for it refreshes the soul and is a sweet fragrance that ascends to the Lord and glorifies His holy name.

• However, the man or woman that lives by faith as well as being saved by faith, accepts the truth that God uses all the storms and problems of life, as well as times of great joy and rejoicing, to remove all the pride and selfishness of our old sin nature, as He gently conforms us into the beautiful image of the lovely Lord Jesus.

• However, we read that Stephen, full of the Holy Ghost, looked steadfastly up into heaven, and rejoiced to see Jesus, standing on the right hand of the Father in heavenly places.

• From beginning to end, this is a prayer that should cause us to rejoice with great joy and praise God with deep reverence - for we see Christ interceding on our account at the throne of grace.

• Indeed, we who have trusted Christ and who have been saved by grace through faith in Him, have much about which to rejoice, despite the sobering truth that in this world all who live godly in Christ Jesus will face various trials and tribulations and may even have to face persecution and death.
• And because the love of God has been poured into our heart by His Holy Spirit, we rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory when we read: Christ died for ours sins, according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised again on the third day, according to the Scriptures.

• And let us rejoice in the knowledge that God is dealing with us as sons: For what son is he whom the Father chasteneth not?

• First, we rejoice that He liberates us from the Old Testament Law and the inner flesh.

• We are called to rejoice in the Lord, to pray without ceasing, and in everything to give thanks to the Lord our God, for the joy of the Lord is our health and strength, and His mercy endures forevermore.
• We are exhorted to rejoice in the Lord and to take refuge in Him, for He has done wonderful things for all who have trusted in the name of His dearly beloved Son.
• Such divine rejoicing should not be hindered or quenched by the scheming strategies of the wicked one.
• The length, breadth, depth, and height, of this continual rejoicing in the Lord, should resound to the farthest extremity of His promises and plans - His governance and character.
• The surpassing intimate fellowship into which we have been warmly invited, as children of the Father and joint-heirs with Christ, should rejoice our heart always and gladden our soul through time and into eternity.
• Let us rejoice in the Lord always - and again I will say, LET US REJOICE - for He is a great and awesome God, and a great King above all gods!

• We, who have access to the whole counsel of God, recognise the significance of Joseph's dreams in God's plan of redemption and as we read through the thrilling fulfilment of his prophetic visions, we marvel at the way that God used this young man to save His people from the famine that ravaged Canaan, and we rejoice as we watch God's plans and purposes unfold and see Joseph's prophetic dreams being fulfilled.

• It was Paul who rejoiced in the confident hope that we have in Christ Jesus and he longed that others too would come to a real understanding of the incomparable riches of His grace, which is expressed in his kindness towards us in Christ Jesus.

• She knew she was also a sinner in need of salvation: For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God... there is none good, not even one. How she rejoiced in God's amazing plan to give His only begotten Son as the perfect sin-sacrifice for all humanity, and use her to give birth to the eternal Son of God, her Saviour and the Saviour of all.
• And when she was greeted by Elisabeth her cousin, Mary's exultant song of praise was expressed through her lovely confession, My soul magnifies the Lord and my spirit has rejoiced in God my Saviour.
• No surprise that she sang, My spirit has rejoiced in GOD MY SAVIOUR.

• When we join together to partake of the bread and wine in memory of Him and to reflect on the enormous sacrifice Christ made on our account, and when we recognise that His bodily resurrection guarantees all who trust in Him eternal life, it is a thing most wonderful to ponder upon as we rejoice together.

• He is the one who rejoices to keep His commands, for His yoke is easy and His burden is light.The man who fears the Lord and trusts in His love is blessed indeed, for he is a sinner saved by grace. He will never be disappointed for God will guide him in the way he should take and teach him the path that he should choose and set His feet on the highway to holiness.

• Let us rejoice in the God our salvation and praise His holy name.

• Rebuilding the Temple was vital if Israel were to keep God's covenant and remain in fellowship with Him, and so the foundations of the Temple were laid, amidst much rejoicing.
• They rejoiced as they brought the cedar wood from Lebanon and Joppa, as promised by Cyrus. 
• But a day is coming when Christ will return as Israel's King and He will rebuild His Millennial Temple in the city of God, and together... ALL God's people will praise the Lord with trumpets, cymbals, and great rejoicing, as did these saints in the days of Ezra.

• Although God will never allow sin to go unpunished in the lives of sinner and saint alike, let us rejoice that a day is coming when God will right all wrongs.

• He rejoices that we are all eternally secure in Christ and protected by the power of God, through faith, for the salvation of our soul.

• The heart-felt prayer of a childless woman whose pleading request for a baby son was answered and who was faithful in returning the child back to the Lord once he was weaned, has rejoiced many hearts and encouraged many souls.

• And then, David rejoiced in God's never-failing faithfulness.

• The repeating, melodious heartbeat, that caresses every part of the created universe, rejoices that His loving-kindness is everlasting, His steadfast mercies endure forever, His faithful love is never-ending, and His unwavering goodness, stretches into the furthest extremities of eternity.
• Should not we, who are His blood-bought children, rejoice to hear such worthy instructions on praise and thanksgiving?
• The wisdom of Paul, the great apostle to the Gentiles, similarly reminds us that rejoicing in the Lord is our worthy calling, for His steadfast mercy truly does endure from generation to generation.
• May we rejoice in the Lord and delight, day by day, in His gracious deliverance.

• May we be willing to learn the lessons that God would teach us through this disturbing story and walk in spirit and truth as we obey God's will and trust His Word, but may we also rejoice that God uses everything in our lives, whether good or evil, to bring about his plans and purposes for our benefit and for His greater glory - and the best is yet to come!

• The proven fact of fulfilled prophecy at Christ's First Coming should rejoice our hearts, for we have an assurance that all prophecies connected with His Second Coming will also be fulfilled, according to the Scriptures.

• They had worked hard and happily to construct the Temple foundations, and the whole congregation rejoiced together.
• Far from rejoicing, because of their success, Israel's mean-spirited neighbours, who had settled in the land during their time of exile, were dismayed with the progress that had been made in the rebuilding of the Temple.
• The biblical way to dispel fear is to rejoice in the Lord, no matter what difficulties or dangers we face.
• Paul tells us to, rejoice always, pray without ceasing and in everything give thanks, for this is God's will for us. He knows that the joy of the Lord is our strength and that depression and fear are an enemy of our soul, and tools the devil will use to shipwreck our faith.

• He encourages us to rejoice in our trials because we have believed the glorious gospel of grace and have a heavenly hope founded on Christ.

• Just like a caring Shepherd is happy to find his lost sheep, so the Lord Jesus always rejoices when the straying sinner turns away from sin and back to Himself.

• Psalm 22 details His agony on the Cross, but Psalm 16 rejoices in His Resurrection, by which He conquered death.
• Paul reminded us that if we only have hope in this world, then we are to be greatly pitied, but we who trust in Jesus as our sin-bearing Saviour can rejoice and lift up our voices in shouts of praise and thanksgiving, as did the apostle Paul and Israel's king David.

• As bond-servants of Christ, we are given a valuable list of how we should live, having put off our old selves and put on the new self created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. We are exhorted to put off falsehood and speak truthfully; steal no longer but instead work and share; speak helpful and wholesome words; get rid of bitterness, anger, and slander and in their place put forgiveness, kindness and compassion.Paul rejoiced to be a prisoner of the Lord, not for any wrong that he had done, for all sin and every sin was forgiven at the Cross, but for the sake of the Lord Jesus Who loves us and gave Himself for us.

• We rejoice that our names are written in the Book of Life, but before we were saved by faith in Christ, we were all sons of disobedience and slaves of sin, who remained under the wrath of God and were headed for a lost eternity.
• No wonder Paul rejoiced to say, I have been crucified with Christ and the life I now live, I live by faith in the Son of God Who loved me, and gave Himself for me.

• Angels shout their praises to God while the heavens rejoice, the earth is joyful, trees clap their hands, and the very stones proclaim of the glory to God; for He is full of grace and truth.
• Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad; let the sea resound, and all that is in it.

• And we rejoice for the glorious 'BUT' in this verse, where we read, BUT the Lord is faithful, Who shall establish you, and guard you from the evil one.

• Rather, let us rejoice that God loves us so much that He sent His only begotten Son into the world to pay the price for our sin so that by faith in Him alone we can be forgiven and declared righteous - for the glory of God and our eternal good.

• When difficulties arise in our lives and we are beset on every side with hardships and trials, we need to adopt the attitude of David in His many psalms of praise and thanksgiving – who reflected on God's past goodness, rejoiced in His future promises, and blessed the Lord for all the benefits that He bestows on us day by day: For the Lord is compassion and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in loving-kindness. 

• God disclosed to his servant the most astonishing prophecy of future events and Daniel rejoiced, crying out in joyful praise, May the name of God be praised forever and ever, for wisdom and power belong to Him.

• The whispered plea of dependent helplessness, rejoices the heart of God, and His immediate response is, fear not, my child, I created you and purchased you - I died for you and I love you.

• But he rejoices to inform us that apart from the impossible task of keeping God's perfect Law, the righteousness of God has now been made known through faith in the Person and work of Jesus Christ.

• The blessed Lord rejoices over His children with singing, proclaiming His unconditional love towards us while pouring out His eternal heavenly grace over all that believe on His name.

• May we have an understanding heart and a listening ear to hear all that the Spirit says to us through the Word of truth, and may we rejoice that no matter what difficulties we may encounter in life or what problems may come our way, God has scheduled every day of our lives for His greater glory and our eternal benefit  - and is transforming us, day by day, into the image and likeness of Jesus.

• He rejoiced to know that in recognising and responding to the material needs of their brothers and sisters in Jerusalem, they were demonstrating obedience to Christ and their actions and attitude would glorify the Father in heaven.
• Paul rejoiced, because their service in giving gladly to the saints in Jerusalem was a proof of their love for the Lord Jesus, and demonstrated caring, godly concern for one another, and through it the Lord was honoured.

• Let us not only consider the sufferings of the man who lived in the land of Uz, who was blameless, upright, feared God, and eschewed evil, but let us also rejoice in the immeasurable grace of God, His never-ending goodness, His long-suffering mercy, His perfect justice, and His everlasting righteousness. 

• Legalists and law-mongers decry the gospel of grace and accuse those that rejoice in the liberty that we have in Christ's finished work at Calvary, of promoting a dangerous doctrine that leads to a carnal lifestyle and a license to sin. But this is a serious misunderstanding of the gospel of grace and a gross misinterpretation of the apostolic teachings of Paul, who was Christ's chosen apostle to the Gentiles and through whom were given the marvellous mysteries of the Church which is His Body.

• Paul describes the spirit-filled Christian as one who speaks to their brothers and sisters-in-Christ: In psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, demonstrating a life that rejoices in the truth, and one that is enlarged by speaking of God's goodness and grace with other members of Christ's body.
• Rejoicing, joy, singing, and good works appear so positive by comparison with being submissive to one another!

• Rejoice is a word that Paul loved to use, and here in the book of Philippians he uses it 10 times in four short chapters.
• He rejoiced when the gospel of Christ was proclaimed and he rejoiced that he did not labour in vain.
• He rejoiced that he was poured forth in the sacrifice and service of these believers and he rejoiced in the Lord always ..and was not ashamed to say it again - rejoice in the Lord!!
• He knew that their joy would evaporate if they did not fill their hearts and minds with all that is pure and lovely, virtuous and praiseworthy - and Paul knew that only those that imitated his Christ-centred life, and stood firm on the glorious gospel of grace - with thanksgiving, would experience the precious peace of God, which passes human understanding, and be equipped to rejoice in the Lord in every situation.
• The last time that Paul used this joyful word - REJOICE, in his letter, was when he admitted, but I rejoice in the Lord greatly, that now, at last, you have revived your concern for me.
• Paul was rejoicing, because the believers at Philippi had recently sent him some financial aid during his incarceration in a Roman prison.
• Paul had learned that the secret of being content in all things, was to trust in the Lord with all his heart, not rely on his own abilities, nor the reasoning of other people, but to rejoice in the Lord - always.
• Paul rejoiced to receive the gift of financial aid, knowing that this little group of believers had not forgotten about him in his absence, but had united to consider his trying circumstances, and had shown godly concern for him, by arranging for one of their congregation to visit him with some daily supplies.
• And may we develop the gift of gracious giving to others, and rejoice when the Lord, in His goodness, meets their needs - through the gifts he has given us.

• Nevertheless, we rejoice to know that the foolishness of God is wiser than man... and the weakness of God is stronger than man.

• Hannah's beautiful song of rejoicing not only reflects her delivery from bareness but is a trustworthy witness to the glory of God, the greatness of His power, the majesty of His name, the wonder of His love, and His faithfulness towards the children of men.
• Hannah's song of praise affirms the holiness of God, exults the character of God, rejoices in the uniqueness of God, and attests to His gracious wisdom: For the Lord is a God of knowledge and with Him our actions are weighed.

• May we rejoice in the joy of our salvation and may we become so rooted and grounded in Him that we may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the length, and width, height, and depth of God’s love, and to know the love that surpasses knowledge - so we may be filled with all the fullness of God.

• They had just participated in the feeding of the 5000 and were full of joy and rejoicing... but Christ withdrew to the hillside to pray.

• Should this not rejoice our hearts from this day forward and even for evermore?

• We are to discover our joy in the Lord and gladden our hearts by developing an attitude of rejoicing in Him and in the power of His might so that we may press on to the upward goal of our calling in Christ Jesus.

• And doubtless, Paul also longed to rejoice with these fellow believers, about the good news of the glorious gospel of grace and their mutually secure position in Christ.

• No surprise that David rejoiced as he reflected that God should remember him, and the son of man that God should care for him.
• However, after a careful reading of David's exultant psalm of praise we realise that it was not the first fallen Adam and paradise lost about which David rejoiced, but the second and last Adam and paradise regained, and the even greater splendour that is to come through Christ.

• We are to rejoice in the Lord all the time and to let our gentle spirit be known to all men.

• It was the night that heaven hushed, angels wondered, hell rejoiced, and time stood still.

• Oh yes, the Lord rejoices over all that believe in Him, and He takes joyful delight in those who trust His Word and abide in His love.
• How wonderful to fully understand that God rejoices over His children with gladness and delights in His little flock with shouts of joy. 

• The boundless love of God is such that His promises never fail in Christ, and we can rejoice with exceeding great joy, and say Amen, to the glory of God.

• Like David, we should foster a teachable spirit and be ready to call out to Him in times of trouble, as well as rejoice in times of blessing.

• Having seen this and coming to a depth of understanding of our position in Christ, he rejoices to remind us that all Christians are born for glory: The glory of the one and only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth, for we are one with Him.
• And we rejoice with a joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, for Jesus is our Lord and our God, our Saviour and our Friend.

• We are to pray without ceasing, rejoice evermore, give thanks in everything, and love our brothers and sisters in Christ, as we watch for the Lord's soon return.

• Christ's finished work on the Cross demands our everlasting thanks and praise, for although we have not seen Him, we love Him and greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, knowing that it is through Him alone that we have obtained: As the outcome of our faith, the salvation of our soul.

• When the Stone, which is Jesus Christ, demolishes the Gentile empires, the whole of heaven will rejoice - because, the kingdoms of this world will have become the kingdom of our God and our His Christ. - something that takes place in the end times.
• Should we not rejoice in the Lord and thank Him for loving us so much that He sent JESUS to defeat the enemy of our soul and make us citizens of heaven and joint-heirs with Christ?

• But there is no greater joy than knowing that one's children are walking with the Lord, growing spiritually, and standing firm in the faith, and I am sure that Paul longed to see his beloved Timothy, knowing that their fellowship in the Lord would bring much mutual joy and rejoicing.

• Our Father in heaven has a wondrous array of divine qualities, eternal attributes, and godly characteristics that rejoice our heart and calm our soul, but perhaps one of His essential elements is that He is our God of all comfort; our Source of all consolation.

• The reason we can rejoice is that as children of God we have overcome the enemy of our soul, through faith - because greater is the Holy Spirit of God who indwells our mortal frame and empowers us with His grace and sufficient strength.
• Because of our unmerited position in Christ and born-again relationship to the Father, we too can rejoice that in Him, we have overcome every evil plan and all the wicked strategies of the enemy.
• We can truly rejoice that we are from God and have overcome the enemy - for greater is HE that is in me than he that is in the world - greater in might, majesty, dominion, and power - wisdom, goodness, and grace.

• I will rejoice in the God of my salvation..
• yet I will rejoice in the God of my salvation..

• Now, we have to reckon on this as a fact in our own life, and rejoice in this truth, which staggers the human understanding.

• Paul rejoiced to know that the gospel of Christ was being shed abroad (even though some teachers opposed Paul's ministry and taught about Jesus out of envy and strife), for Paul rejoiced that men and women were being saved by grace through faith in Christ.

• Many of the Psalms cry to God for help and strength in the midst of difficulties, but so many of these Psalms also proclaim a trust in God by recalling God's righteousness and justice, by remembering the mercy and strength He displayed in former times and by rejoicing in the truth of God's Word and the glories of His great majesty.
• So often, we see that in times of trials and difficulties, the Psalmists lifted up their voices in hymns of thanksgiving and praise, calling on the righteous to be joyful in the Lord, to rejoice in the God of their salvation and to sing to the Lord with thankful hearts, for praise, worship, and thanksgiving from the man or woman who loves the Lord, is beautiful and beneficial.
• In this Psalm, the Psalmist is rejoicing in the Creator of the world Whose plans stand forever, Who loves righteousness and justice, and Whose work is always done in faithfulness.
• The theme of rejoicing in the Lord and singing praise to His name with a grateful heart is a thread that weaves its way throughout the entire Scriptures, for there is no adversity that can stand against a heart that delights in the Lord, and there is no difficulty that can overcome the person that is filled with praise for our God.
• Let us therefore rejoice in the Lord and sing praises to the God of our salvation for this is beautiful and beneficial and it is fitting that we should praise His name.

• Let us rejoice in the Lord Who established the works of His hand and decreed that they will never pass away.

• This long and beautiful Psalm is a song of praise that rejoices in the unalterable character and eternal beauty of the Lord.
• It extols the greatness of His character, and it rejoices over the glories and majesty of our Creator God as, verse after verse, the Psalmist reflects on the wonder of His name.
• He rejoices in the eternal faithfulness and gracious wisdom of the Lord and ponders over the majestic works of His hand.
• The joy of the Psalmist is contagious, for when we spend our days reflecting on the eternal faithfulness of the Lord and turn our hearts to meditate on the beauties of His name, we will also rejoice in His wonderful works, His grace and mercy, His wisdom and might, His faithfulness and love, as like the Psalmist we will blend our voices with the heavenly choir that proclaims, Holy, holy, holy.

• However, despite his difficult trials and mounting tribulations, Paul was able to rejoice that the Lord had stood by him and strengthened him in his hour of desperate need.

• By faith we have been brought into eternal union with Christ and there is nothing more important than to live our lives as unto the Lord so that in Him we will rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, not only in this world but throughout eternity.

• One day Israel will also rejoice as God's chosen, covenant people when they cry, Blessed is He Who comes in the name of the Lord, for God has promised His chosen people, Israel, I will be merciful to their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more.

• The godly minister rejoices in the Lord, prays without ceasing, and gives thanks in everything, knowing that this is God's will for all His children.

• He was overjoyed for all the saints of God who rejoice in a knowledge of the truth and whose life is consecrated to the Lord Jesus.
• As Paul, the bond-servant of God and apostle of Jesus Christ, started to rejoice for the faith of Titus and those chosen by God and who know the truth, live godly lives, and trust in Him for their eternal salvation, he started to expand his thoughts about the Lord's amazing promise of salvation, which was made before the world began.

• May we rejoice that God's WORD is sharper than any two-edged sword and cuts deeply to the place where soul and spirit meet, the place where joints and marrow meet - for our eternal good and for His greater glory.

• Should we not rejoice that God has not only commanded us to be perfect as He is perfect, but in His love and grace He foreordained that through faith in Christ we may be perfect, entire, and lacking nothing, simply by an act of saving faith and an obedient life of sanctifying faith, trusting Him to finish the good work he started in us - in Christ.

• The parable of the prodigal son is connected to a section that contrasts the rejoicing in heaven over one sinner that cries out to God for the forgiveness of sin, with the self-righteous scribes and Pharisees of Christ's day who trusted in their own righteousness and were blinded to the reality of their sins.
• There is rejoicing in heaven when an unsaved sinner believes on the Lord Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sin - but there is also rejoicing when a child of God, who has been dazzled by the things of this world, comes to their senses and confesses their sin to the Lord.

• He rejoices in the God of his salvation and proclaims, I will not fear - what can man do to me? He delights to declare an unshakable trust in God, with the words, The LORD is for me ... It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in men.

• The Psalmist's joyful proclamation was not referring to himself, for he would die and be buried along with all the children of men, but it points to the irrepressible joy of the coming Messiah Whose heart rejoiced in God, Whose tongue delighted in His Father, and Whose flesh rested in the promises of the Almighty God, to raise Him to life on the third day.
• Should not our hearts rejoice, and our tongue be glad that we are one with our gracious Lord?

• In seasons of poverty or plenty, our hope should rest on the Lord as we rejoice is the great things He has done in our lives.

• Let us rejoice in the Lord knowing that the day is fast approaching when this present time of sorrow too will be turned into an eternity of joy, for He will wipe away every tear from our eyes when we behold Him face to face.

• While we shudder at the horrors that must be poured out on this sin-sick, fallen world may we rejoice that through it ALL, God will be glorified and countless multitudes will be brought to repentant faith in Him.

• Peter rejoiced in God's great mercy, knowing that all who trust in Christ for the salvation of their soul through faith in Him, are shielded by the power of God until the coming of our great God and Saviour, Jesus Christ - Who is ready to be revealed at the last time.

• The prophetic voices of holy men of God had proclaimed His coming throughout Old Testament Scriptures, wise men came from the east to worship Him, and Zechariah rejoiced that the Lord God of Israel had visited His people and provided redemption through Jesus Christ.

• May we who have been saved by faith and are growing in grace... rejoice.

• We can recognise and rejoice that we are no longer part of this old fallen, fleshly world system, in which Satan, the fallen god of this world has entrapped and enslaved us.

• She is also to be adorned with a crown of rejoicing and the eternal, incorruptible crown of glory which never fades away.

• No doubt they rejoiced in the indwelling ministry of the Holy Spirit and were excited and encouraged that the doctrine of Peter harmonised with that which Paul taught.

• We rejoice to see the amazing unveiling of His plan of redemption, over centuries of time and we offer grateful thanks when we consider Christ's redemptive work on the Cross.

• Let us rejoice that the same God that cares for Israel, loves and cares for us and has promised to finish the good work He has started in each of our lives, just as He will finish the good work He started in His people Israel.
• Let us praise His holy name that the indwelling Spirit of God has promised to lead and guide all those that trust His Word and obey his command, and let us rejoice that in Him is the spirit of liberty and eternal freedom. 

• He rejoices in the spiritual blessings we have received, through faith in Him.

• How we rejoice with exceeding great joy that our citizenship is in heaven.

• He told them of the joy he felt when he thought of them, recalling the three spiritual virtues that were blossoming in their Church congregation, for which he greatly rejoiced.
• The third thing that rejoiced his heart, was their enduring hope in Jesus' soon return, and much of this letter touches on the very subject of Christ coming for his people.

• With each successive verse, we discover more superlative songs of celebration, that rejoice in the richness of God's goodness, the greatness of His power, the wonders of His mighty hand, and the glory of His majesty.
• No wonder that this psalmist delight's to meditate on God's wonders, to concentrate on His greatness, and to rejoice in His wonderful works.
• It is God's will that we rejoice evermore, pray without ceasing, and in everything give thanks to Him, for the Lord knows that the joy of the Lord is our strength.
• He is our everlasting hope and strength, and the psalmist knows that the rejoicing praises of this life will reverberate to the farthest corners of the universe and inhabit the eternal ages to come.
• We should rejoice in the Lord always and sing praises to Him as long as we live, for we have been saved by grace through faith in Christ - through time and into eternity.

• We are to endure patiently through our trials, rejoicing in the Lord always, praying continually, and in everything giving thanks, for this is the will of God for all who are running the Christian race.

• At the start of this final section of Paul's letter to the believers he loved so dearly at Philippi, and having encouraged them to live for Christ, to be like Christ, to rejoice in Christ, to continue in Christ, and to remember all that Christ has done for them, he finally calls them to stand fast in Christ.
• They were his hope, they were his joy, and they were his crown of rejoicing, for Paul knew that one day they would rejoice together in the glorious presence of the Lord Jesus Christ.
• And then he gives these believers some practical instruction on how to do this: Rejoice in the Lord always.
• Again I will say, rejoice!
• Following these practical instructions will help every believer to live for Christ, to be like Christ, to rejoice in Christ, to continue in Christ, and to remember all that Christ has done for us.
• We are called to encourage those that are struggling, to pray for those that do not know Him, and to sow eternal seeds of hope, joy, and rejoicing in the hearts of all we meet so that together we will one day rejoice as we stand and worship our great King of kings and loving Lord of glory.

• Honouring the king, queen, president, or government, can be increasingly challenging in a world that devalues the Word of God, pokes fun at believers, dismantles the moral absolutes of the Bible, promotes the relative opinions of sinful men, and rejoices in ungodly practices, while tearing down the foundational truth that is rooted in God and revealed through Christ.

• I will not be shaken - therefore my heart was glad, and my tongue rejoiced - because You will not leave me in Hades or allow Your Holy One to see decay.
