• Inner Peace This positional truth needs to be accepted and reckoned on as fact. It is the glorious truth that we can live in consummate, inward peace in Christ. It is an amazing fact of scripture that nothing need disturb our peace of mind. It is the thrilling assurance that we are delivered from the fear of the future – because your life is hid with Christ in God. 1Cor.16:13

• Give thanks in all things knowing that all things work together for good. And Paul says that if you do this… the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
• Wise Instructions Have you noticed something here –  every instruction starts with a thought, and every thought allows you a choice… FIRST: Set your thoughts and your mind and your heart on the Lord Jesus. If you choose to set your mind on Christ, you will experience inner peace.
• Think on Christ and have peace..
• The peace of God and the provision of God comes to the one with a single mind – a thought life that trusts in the Lord… no matter what life tries to throw at it..
• Matter of Choice All Christians have access to the peace of God, but only those that choose to apply the truths of scripture receive His peace.
• This is not because God withholds His peace.
• The peace of God is freely available to every believer in the Lord Jesus.
• The Peace of God is only available to the believer that has an undivided heart.. the one that fixes his heart and his thoughts on Christ, bringing every thought into captivity – to the obedience of Christ. 2Cor.10:5

• You cannot get peace whilst reasoning this way.
• God’s Abstract Goodness One salty saint of God explains it this way: he wrote:- This is how the Holy Spirit reasons: He shows us what we are – and that is one reason why He often seems to be very hard, and does not give peace to the soul, as we are not relieved until we experientially, from our hearts, acknowledge what we are.
• Until the soul comes to that point… the Spirit of God does not give it peace – He could not; for it would be healing the wound slightly.

• And Romans 5:1 tells us:  Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
• Preordained Acceptance But God preordained that all who believe in Jesus are fully accepted in His beloved Son. The peace and love and acceptance of God is only through His beloved Son. Without assurance of this precious fact, many live a life of daily dissatisfaction. Without confidence in His Word, many spend their years in constant mistrust. If the failing beauty of a wife doesn’t influence the ardour of a devoted husband, how much more God’s never-failing acceptance is of the believer in Christ. God’s acceptance of you and His acceptance of me is based on one thing – the finished work of the Lord Jesus, on Calvary’s cross: being justified by faith, we have peace with God, through our Lord Jesus Christ.
• Darby put it this way: When the Holy Spirit reasons with man, He does not reason from what man is for God, but from what God is to man. Souls reason from what they are in themselves as to whether God can accept them. He cannot accept you thus. You are looking for righteousness in yourself as a ground of acceptance with Him. You cannot get peace whilst reasoning in that way.
• From God to Man The Holy Spirit always reasons down from what God is, and this produces a total change in my soul. It is not that I abhor my sins; indeed I may have been walking very well… but it is ‘I abhor myself. Until the soul comes to that point He does not give it peace – He cannot for it would be healing the wound slightly. The soul has to go on until it finds there is nothing to rest on – but the abstract goodness of God; and then, ‘If God be for us, who can be against us?'”

• Therefore, being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ (Rom. 5:1).
• There will be no standing against the enemy's accusations until we are firmly assured of, and settled on, the fact that our Father is at peace with us because of our living union with His Beloved Son.
• And this alone will give us peace with our Father.

• He knows a peace which passes all understanding, and he experiences a joy which no man can take from him.

• It is not just life; acceptance; redemption and righteousness that are in Him, but the creation; our hope; spiritual blessings; consolation… and consummation – and Peace and Effectual Prayer and Strength and Riches are all “In Christ”.

• Perfect Peace God’s perfect peace is a wonderful peace, an unshakable peace, a glorious peace..
• a peace coveted by the world but a peace bestowed upon His own..
• A deep peace, an inner peace, a prefect peace that surpasses all human knowledge and understanding. The God of Peace not only calls His followers to be recipients of peace but blesses those that are bestowers of peace: blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God.
• Bond of Peace This beautiful promise is much overlooked amidst it more enviable cousins, and yet Paul exhorts us, keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
• So many believers today are strife-makers rather than peace-makers.
• Yet Paul exhorts us, let the peace of God rule in your hearts  Colossians 3:15
• Fellowship may be interrupted because of a chance remark, yet Paul exhorts us: be at peace among yourselves 1Thessalonians 5:13
• Yet Paul prays, may the Lord of peace himself give you Peace always by all means. 2 Thessalonians 3:16.
• And Paul exhorts us to: follow righteousness, faith, charity, and peace. 2 Timothy 2:22 But so often breeches are widened, bitterness is intensified and anger is excited.
• Peace Offering The Peace Offering in the Bible was a sweet savour to the Lord,  and Christ was our Peace Offering.
• The Peace Offering often focussed on the Israelite’s 'Peace with God',  for joy and peace of mind comes from a knowledge that God is at peace with us.
• Peace of Christ The first word to His trembling disciples after Calvary was PEACE… The heavenly Man who ascended to His Father’s throne left peace with his disciples: peace I leave with you – my peace I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled.
• Spirit of Peace This spirit of peacemaking is divine and is imparted via the Spirit of Peace. To be peacemakers, we must strive to be at peace with all men:- if it is possible, pleads the apostle Paul – if it is possible, be at peace with all men. Rom.12:18. When Christ is made Lord of all He takes the heart and makes it one with His heart, and we have been given the mind of the Prince of Peace.
• Channels of Peace We who have been given the mind of Christ should be peacemakers. We who are called children of God should become channels of His peace – channels of His blessings and peacemaking, channels of our peace to others: finally, beloved, be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind – live in PEACE. 2 Corinthians 13:11 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. Now the Lord of PEACE himself give you PEACE always by all means Amen.

• But His cruel rejection by man, enabled humanity to make peace with God. Had He not been rejected by humanity, man would have remained rejected by God.

• Should we not prayerfully seek to remain in unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace?

• Faith justifies the soul: being justified by faith, we have peace with God.

• God’s Promises If peace is offered to the mind that is stayed on Him and focused on Him, I must focus my mind on Him and trust in His immutable Word.

• God Incarnate He was born as the Son of Humanity but He was given as the Son of Deity. He was born as the Son of Mary but He was given as the Son of the most high God. For unto us the child of the virgin is born and unto us the Son of the Father is given, and the government shall be upon His shoulders, for He is Immanuel – God with US. He is our Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father – Prince of Peace.

• Jewels of Light God gives us “treasures of darkness” to prepare us for jewels of light, and He leads us through the valley of the shadow into His own place of peace and rest.
• Paths of Peace Burdens and barriers in our path are used by a Holy God - a Heavenly Father.
• May we all accept His clouds and mysteries as He leads us into His paths of peace – until we see Him as He is.

• Chambers Comment Oswald Chambers puts it this way:- “There are times when our peace is based upon ignorance, but when we awaken to the facts of life, inner peace is impossible unless it is received from Jesus.
• When Our Lord speaks peace, He makes peace.
• His words are ever “spirit and life.” Have I ever received what Jesus speaks, when He said: “My peace I give unto you”?  This is a peace which comes from looking into His face and realising His un-disturbedness.
• Chambers continues:- “Are you painfully disturbed just now, distracted by the waves and billows of God’s providential permission, and having, as it were, turned over the boulders of your belief, are you still finding no well of peace or joy or comfort; is all barren?
• Reflected peace is the proof that you are right with God because you are at liberty to turn your mind to Him.
• Chamber’s conclusion:- Are you looking unto Jesus now, in the immediate matter that is pressing and are you receiving from Him peace?
• If so, He will be a gracious benediction of peace in and through you.
• Lay it all out before Him, and in the face of difficulty, bereavement and sorrow, hear Him say, “Let not your heart be troubled. You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in you.

• Giver of Peace The Lord our God is both the Creator of peace and He is the Giver of peace – for He is all that makes for life and peace.
• Peace is an eternal attribute of God and peace is the everlasting fruit of the Spirit – for the peace of God is rooted in His eternal love.
• Christ’s Peace Sinners who trust in the only begotten Son of God are given peace WITH God and believers who live in fellowship with the Father receive the prefect peace OF God – indeed, as the time drew ever closer for the Lord Jesus Himself to leave His little flock, He said, Peace I leave with you..

• I do not give to you the peace that the world gives, so don’t let your hearts be troubled, or fearful.
• True Peace Humanity craves peace in the world and we all desire perfect peace in our hearts and yet all that the world terms peace is superficial and shallow, for the restless heart of man can find no true tranquillity without the perfect peace that comes from above. Genuine peace is not simply the cessation of conflicts nor it is the absence of disputes but peace is a oneness with our Saviour, for true peace is being united as one with Christ Jesus.
• But despite man’s craving for peace, how few really seek Him.
• God’s Peace Yet Peace with God is a free gift of grace that is freely available to all who will put their trust in Christ for Salvation.
• Peace is found at the foot of the cross, for peace is in a Person – and that Person is Christ Jesus, our perfect Prince of Peace. The peace of God is also a gift of grace that is freely available to every believer who has learned to walk the pathway of peace – for the peace of God which passes understanding floods into the hearts of all God’s children, whose mind is stayed on Him.
• Life-Giving Peace Peace with God and the peace of God stretches through time and into eternity, for all who trust Christ as Saviour and learn to keep the eyes of their hearts looking to Jesus for it was our Saviour who calmed the ocean of God’s wrath against a sinful world, which He procured for us by His sufferings and death on Calvary’s cross. He broke down the middle wall of hostility that divided Jew from Gentile and the curtain of the temple was torn from top to bottom announcing that the gaping void between a holy God and sinful man had been spanned by the blood of the Lamb – for by Hs death, Jesus opened a new and life-giving way, through the curtain which is His body.
• Trust in God Sinners and saints alike crave peace as they pass through this world.
• For the saint, it’s a choice to walk in spirit and truth – for the peace of God and peace with God are interlinked with a trust in God. When we seek after the peace that this world offers it is an expression of unbelief – for in this world we will have tribulation and troubles; trials and testings, wars and rumours of wars, difficulties and disasters – hatred and hostility.
• In Christ But Jesus said, I have told you about these things that will happen in this world, so that in Me, you may have peace.

• Appointed Time But finally God’s appointed time arrived and on that special day the angel was finally able to announce, for unto you is born this day in the city of David – a Saviour.  A host of angels rejoiced as they raised their voices in a chorus of excited praise singing, glory to God in the highest and peace on earth to men of goodwill.
• Unique Attributes Every aspect of the Person of Christ and the work of Christ is unique for He was not only God, but the anointed of God Who was spoken of by the prophets of old and Who Himself became fully man so that He could be our Prophet, Priest and King – bringing God to man and uniting humanity back to the Father. He is not only Creator of all, Lord of heaven and earth and God our righteousness, but He is the Prince of Peace, the Everlasting Father and our Wonderful Councillor.

• We should know that it is God’s grace that imparts peace and hope and removes all fear.
• Sufficient Grace Grace and truth came through the Lord Jesus – as does love, joy, peace, and hope, and we have access to all the grace of Christ..

• Now for the time being no discipline [child-training] seems to be pleasant; it is painful; later on, however, to those who are trained by it, it yields the fruit of peace which grows from upright character (Heb. 12:11, Wms.).

• They often hide behind the skirts of faith, forgiveness, peace and long-suffering.

• Can you obey the Word that I speak, for My Word is life and health and peace.

• The moment we begin to rest our peace on anything in ourselves, we lose it.
• And this is why so many saints have not settled peace.
• How can you have settled peace?
• Then you will know peace - conscious unworthiness, but yet peace.

• There is more in the Lord Jesus, in the Father, in the Spirit, in heaven to give us rest and peace and joy, than in the whole universe to disquiet, trouble, or grieve us. -G.V.W.

• Precious Promise Peter wrote: Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, according as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness – through the knowledge of HIM that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these, ye might be partakers of the divine nature. 2 Peter 1:2-4.

• His thoughts towards you are for peace and hope and rest.

• I have said these things to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation.
• Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you, not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.John 14:27
• He knows the troubled and anxious breast. The Lord knows that His wonderful peace is freely available to calm the anxious one, and so He reaches out with words that only He can utter: Let not your heart be troubled, beloved child, neither be afraid. Here is my peace for you, My precious children – I give My peace to you.
• Great Comforter He is able to comfort because He is incarnate Comfort – the great Comforter. He gives His own peace to those He delights in. He offers the same peace that kept Him quiet and calm during His own earthly walk: Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you, not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
• Multifaceted Peace His is the peace that enabled Him to be silent when so grossly misrepresented. His is the peace that spoke calmness and authority to stormy seas and lashing waves. His is the peace that comforted the widow and restored hope in a distraught Jairus. His peace, He gives gladly and generously and continuously.
• Available Peace His peace is not the false, fractured peace of a world at war with God and man. His is the peace that passes human understanding – and He gives it freely. But the gifts that the Lord bestows upon His children must be received by them, a gift is no gift that is not taken and accepted, appropriated, and acted upon.
• Mary took time to kneel at the Master’s feet and accept His gifts of love and peace.
• Spiritual Peace His peace is a spiritual peace – and one that is intended to be enjoyed now. His peace is a peace that is given for us in this age of turmoil and uncertainty.
• Sustaining Peace Just because we are Christians does not exempt us from the problems in this life. Indeed, not only did Paul remind us to be patient in tribulation… but in order to be one with Christ, we need to participate in His suffering - the fellowship of his sufferings, with patient endurance.
• Perfect Peace However, accompanying all trials and troubles we are assured of His peace.
• His peace that passes understanding.
• His peace that the world cannot hinder.
• The peace that the Lord Himself, as the God of Peace, pours into our hearts.
• This peace is His peace, and He gives it to His own. This peace is not to be possessed apart from Him. This peace is only to be enjoyed in Him, as we remain in Him.
• Christ-Centred Peace In this troubled and fretful world above all things, it is necessary that we know His peace.
• So let not your heart be troubled, ye believe in God, believe also in me. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. How do we access this perfect gift of perfect peace? God will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on JESUS: because he trusteth in Thee.

• Happenings that seek to frustrate our peace and threaten our progress.

• Protective Peace The third grace of this harmonious trio of protective peace – is the hope of salvation.

• For I give you my beloved sleep, so rest in My love and be at peace..

• He must truly become our Master as well as our Saviour. We are thus called to commit ourselves, spirit, soul, and body to God. We are to commit ourselves to God, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely.. and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Thessalonians 5:23

• A life of quiet and calm; a life of hope and fulfilment: a life of peace and rejoicing... a life of unbroken fellowship with the Lord; a life of love and joy and hope; a life nestling in the bosom of the Father; a life where darkness has melted away; a life where sorrows of the night have softened into joy of an eternal morning.
• Ideal and Actual Such a model etches a rude distinction between the ideal and the actual.  A life of noise and clamour; a life of darkness and disease; a life of pain and despair; a life of where the Lord seems distant; a life lacking love, joy and peace; a life of sorrows and sin; of sickness and sadness; deterioration and death.

• Do you think I have come to bring peace to the earth?

• Now the God of peace, who brought up from the dead the great Shepherd of the sheep through the blood of the eternal covenant, even Jesus our Lord, equip you in every good thing to do His will, working in us that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to Whom be the glory forever and ever.

• House of Israel However, this baptism of repentance was confined to the lost sheep of the house of Israel and it was designed to prepare the people for the approaching kingdom. No one but Israel had a covenant with God and Israel alone was promised the glories of a kingdom of peace and prosperity such as that described in so much of Scripture.

• My Peace, my Shepherd, my Provider, my Redeemer.

• His Peace God tells us that life with Him is never immune from difficulties, but He also tells us that He gives us peace – peace, within our stresses and strains.
• Our difficulties, doubts, stresses, and strains can be underpinned with His peace, for He is our peace – and peace can become our vesture in the turmoil of life.

• Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ (Rom. 5:1)

• His Peace The way will open up as we hear the still small voice saying.. this is the path walk in it – these are the words speak them. No evil shall befall you for I AM your God, and I have scheduled every day of your life.
• Secure your mind on Him and He will keep you in perfect peace..
• so that Peace like a flowing river cleanses and washes all irritants far away.

• Song Of Zacharias - STUDY  To give LIGHT to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, and to guide our feet into the way of PEACE.Luke 1:78
• deadness that shuts out so much that is fair and sweet and good and gentle – but Jesus came to give God’s light and He came to guide us into God’s peace.
• His peace will bring our grieving spirits into quiet submission as we rest in Him.
• When we wholeheartedly admit our own powerlessness – He dispenses His peace.
• Light And  Peace Only those who thus walk hand in hand with Him can fully access His light and peace.
• The way of His wisdom is the way of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.” Proverbs 3:17 But only those that follow His footsteps have quietness of spirit and amity with God. Only those who trust His love are in concord with themselves and with others. Only they who truly know how to die to self, utterly and completely  – only they are truly at peace with life’s circumstances. They find no strain within; no hostility without; no alienation from God. They have no pricks of an accusing conscience; no unsatisfied longings or desires, for they trust in His love completely – for they know that: “all things work together, for good…” Rom.8:28
• Walk of Life Take the hand of the One that knows how to lighten those that sit in darkness. Walk with the One Who will truly guide your feet into the way of peace, and you will have contentment in this age despite the hardships and disappointments – and in the age to come – the Millennial Age, you will discover joys unspeakable, for you will live 1000 years, in time – time recaptured from the today’s devouring locusts. Only put your hand into His and say:- order my walk; order my every moment… order my way and my life to your good pleasure – for whither Thou goest I will go. What you decide I will accept.

• blameless.  Let us accept His ideal for our lives, as step by step our hearts are established in peace, through the little by little the process of holistic, practical sanctification.
• May the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard your heart and mind through Christ Jesus.

• Hidden Peace One of the saddest verses that I find in the Bible is in Luke chapter 19, where Jesus says,  if only you had known on this day what would bring you peace - but now it is hidden from your eyes. Luke 19:42.
• And give you His peace this night... and every day and night, and every night and day until Jesus comes.

• Perfect peace is our promised portion.
• And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus (Phil. 4:7).

• Now the God of peace . . .

• Peace But He will vindicate you… and in the meantime, He will grant you His presence and His peace.

• This flesh gives us no rest, no peace, no satisfaction; we have no joy in it.

• But the fruit of the Spirit is :-LOVE:- joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-controlGalatians 5:22
• For the fruit of the Spirit is love; joy; peace; patience; kindness; goodness; faithfulness; gentleness; self-control..

• Christ the Lord How astonished that little band of shepherds must have been when first one and then a great multitude of the angelic heavenly host were seen rejoicing and praising God as they preached the good news of a Saviour – born that day in the city of David, Who would bring peace to men of good-will.

• We ache for the Prince of Peace, that brings rest to our thirsty souls.

• Spiritual Fruit This is the man that brings for the fruit of God’s Holy Spirit; Love in times of Hostility; Joy in times of Pain; Peace in times of Trouble; Long-suffering in times of Frustration; Gentleness in times of Oppression; Goodness in times of Evil; Faith in times of Testing; Meekness in times of Irritations; Temperance in times of Temptation.

• For He, Himself, is our peace, Who made both groups into one and broke down the barrier of the dividing wall, by abolishing in His flesh the enmity, which is the Law of commandments contained in ordinances, so that in Himself He might make the two into one new man, thus establishing peace, that He might reconcile them both, in one body to God through the cross, by it having put to death the enmity.
• A Holy Temple He came and preached peace to you who were far away, and peace to those who were near, for through Him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father.  So now, you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God’s household, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the cornerstone, in Whom the whole building, being fitted together, is growing into a Holy Temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together into a dwelling of God in the Spirit.

• I am His body and soul and spirit, and we read: now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1Thess.5:23

• The inner need of man is sweet fellowship with God. He is my peace. He is my guide.  He is my strength.  He is my hope.  He is my all in all. They who have never drawn close to Him, see no beauty that they should desire Him.

• Covered in Christ We need to be undergirded with His truth and remain covered in His righteousness. We should minister the gospel of peace and have trust His word implicitly – as fact. We should take the helmet of salvation and the believers’ sword, which is God’s Word.
• We are to dress in truth; righteousness; peace; faith; salvation and the Word of God.  We are to be praying always with All-Prayer and supplication in the Spirit.
• Stand Firm Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.

• It needs that the heart be carried into the glory of Canaan beyond; in the present sense of peace with the Father, and the consciousness of standing in His present favor - the favor that is better than life. -F.G.P.

• Total Righteousness And His gift to all who trust on His name is a justifying righteousness:- regeneration; sanctification; glorification; a new creation in Christ, and the grace of God and peace with God, and faith and hope and love and joy, and the indwelling Spirit and a heavenly inheritance – and eternal life: for He washed us from our sins in His own blood, and hath made us kings and priests unto God and His Father, to Him be glory and dominion for ever and ever.

• Unveiled Inheritance We are to know more fully the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints.. not only the actual inheritance that is held in trust, but its considerable GLORY - the riches of grace, peace, hope, and love, that are ours to live by in the present, and its full and final and unveiled inheritance, when we see Him as He is.

• All-Sufficient Grace Paul has shifted our perspective from hearing about God’s truth to experiencing it. It is moving from knowing we have peace with God – to receiving the peace of God. Oh!
• Indwelling Assurance When the indwelling Spirit works His peace within – we realise His residing power. When storms of life batter our being – His indwelling assurance gives perfect peace.

• What peace and rest, to know that there is a Husbandman who cares for the branch, to see that it grows stronger; who watches over every hindrance and danger, who supplies every needed aid!
• What peace and rest, fully and finally to give up our abiding into the care of the Father, and never have a wish or thought, never to offer a prayer or engage in an exercise connected with it, without first having the glad remembrance that what we do is only the manifestation of what our Father is doing in us!

• Promise of Peace You are a precious child of God.
• and to keep you in restfulness and perfect serenity of mind, despite the cruel accusers' vicious assaults, and despite his malicious attempts to rob you of your peaceful inheritance.
• Saints down through the ages have been promised this blessing of perfect peace and His faithfulness to perform stands fast today as it did in days long gone. He gives His beloved His peace and His rest and He will give you rest and peace.
• Cherished Calm His perfect peace is suited for all occasions.
• Christ’s Peace He not only bestows on us peace WITH God as we nestle in His forgiveness, that glorious 'new-birth' peace with God the Father….and endows us with the peace OF God, which protects and guards our hearts and minds… but also by His grace, He lavishly supplies us with His OWN peace… the peace of God that surpasses understanding – the peace of Jesus.

• Shelter under His countenance of perfect, precious peace.
• How frequently does the brutal accuser point his icy finger of doubt on His promised Word, with the accusation, 'hath God said'... did He truly promise you peace?
• Gift of Peace Peace, I leave with you, My peace I give to you..

• Justification and Sanctification In Hebrews 10:10 we read:- we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once and for all, while in 1 Thessalonians 5:23 we read:- May the God of peace himself make you holy in every way.
• In Hebrews 10:14 we read: For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are sanctified, while in Hebrews 12:14 we read: Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord.

• The God of peace . . .

• He is our gospel of peace. He is our helmet of salvation and He is our defence and defender in whom we trust.

• We think we shall not go far wrong if we say this has been the experience of almost every believer that has ever lived. Ironically, the condition of the old sin nature dictates that this will be the case. So much of a believers’ searching for the peace of God sinks into the pit of despair!

• Two thousand years ago the angels were sent to all men with a message.. a great proclamation of peace: to you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, Who is Christ the Lord: Luke 2:11.. and suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying: Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men: Luke.2:11.
• And yet about 33 years later, Jesus told us: do not think that I have come to bring peace on the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword.
• This is the claim that’s been passed from generation to generation for 2000 years.  Christendom is considered the bastion for peace and prosperity of nations..
• Christ’s Mission Christianity is seen as a religion, standing for peace and brotherhood of mankind.
• Twenty centuries have passed since the arrival on earth of its Prince of Peace.
• Two thousand years have rolled by since this angelic proclamation of peace on earth and still this false perspective of God’s love and the peace of Christ deceives man’s thinking.
• Do not think that I have come to bring peace on earth; He tells us.. I have not come to bring peace, on earth – but a sword.
• Peace and Judgement He is indeed the God of Peace, but he is also the God of Judgment.
• He is the Prince of Peace, but out of His mouth comes a sharp, two-edged sword..
• Men of Good-Will The Prince of Peace is the blood sacrifice of an innocent Victim, the Lord Jesus Christ..
• so that you and I can have peace with God and the peace of God.  But Peace is a choice.  Peace is a gift from God that proud man presumes to aspire to.
• Scripture does not say the angels prophesied peace... they proclaimed peace.
• They did not predict peace.;.
• they promised peace – peace to men whose will is good and well-pleasing to the Lord.
• It was not peace on earth, goodwill to all men, but peace on earth to men whose will is good and well-pleasing to God.
• This is not a message for those who choose to despise, reject, and denounce Him.  The Revised Version puts it this way: Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among men, with whom He is pleased! (RV)
• Promise of Peace This was the precious message that wafted down from the heavenly host that night. This was the pure joy that was offered in the hills of Judea that silent, still, holy eve.
• Stupendous Offer God’s peace is still being offered today.

• When the Lord speaks to the penitent heart, He speaks words of comfort and peace.
• He bore the derision and ridicule of every foul-mouthed mocker, in silence – so that they, with us, could regain peace with God – so that they with us, could secure life eternal.

• The work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness, quietness and assurance forever (Isa. 32:17).

• The Holy Spirit's leadings comes with a sense of peace and quiet, even if they point in a really difficult direction which only the grace of the Father can enable one to follow. -C.G.T.

• Eternal Significance God made peace with us by grace, through faith in the one perfect sacrifice for sin, and we are entrusted with a holy office – entreating the world to receive salvation.
• The former to turn from their sins and to have peace with God; the latter to return from their transgressions back into fellowship with Him.

• for He promised: Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee. It does not specify that one has to be in the midst of peace to receive His peace, but it does specify that the peace is given to the mind stayed on God.
• For even in the midst of deep trauma and sorrow, He can give you that perfect peace.

• You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.Isaiah 26:3-4

• Hence they are thoughts of peace, and not of evil (Jer. 29:11).

• There may be a measure of truth in this kind of reasoning; for, if there be life in my soul, fruit will be apparent; but this is not to give me peace any more than the evil that is in me is to hinder my having peace. -J.N.D.

• These things I have spoken unto you, that in Me ye might have peace (John 16:33)
• He takes the strain and the burden; whilst the believer passes into His triumphs, and is kept in perfect peace through it all.

• By faith He thus rested with a perfect peace in the arms of His Holy Father.
• Peace Accomplished The Man of prayer and Son of God, who through His perfect life offered God His prayers and praise and supplication, gave us a perfect example, when He said, Father, into Thy hands, I commend My spirit.
• The Holiest of All nd the very God of peace sanctify you wholly, and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Thessalonians 5:23  Put off your shoes from your feet: for the place where you stand is holy ground.

• a secure mind – which is the only recipient of the peace of the Lord – a surrendered mind – where each thought is captured and given over to Him.
• She had uncovered the path to perfect peace – the ‘law’ of health and healing.
• My peace I give… a peace that only I can give… John 14:1
• Spiritual Peace His is a spiritual peace and a joy that is intended to be received now. His is a peace of mind that can be received even in this world of trial and pain.
• His is a peace that passes understanding..
• but a peace that can quell the troubled heart.
• Her mind was peaceful and whole.
• Peaceful Mind For many years my own mother worried about ‘what if’ my father died..
• Worrying of things that may happen robs most people of their present peace and joy, but how frequently we are told in Scripture not to worry, or worry is fear.

• that crooked serpent called the devil, has dominated this realm. God is using the rebellion of Satan and the fall of Adam to teach man a vital lesson. God is teaching man that only submission to Himself brings joy and peace and hope. God rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomsoever He will, and sets up over it the basest of men.

• This alone will give true peace of mind, joy and comfort of heart, strength for conflict and power for service.

• Being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ (Rom. 5:1).
• The knowledge of our union with the Lord Jesus is what will deliver the believer from all that is low and feeble, and will lift him to a life of joy and peace.

• Expect a week of promise, abundance, blessing, and favour and He will keep you in perfect peace because I stayed your mind on Him!”

• In the hour of darkness, hold your tongue, for this often brings peace to the soul.
• Expected End You’ll either deny the Lord Who bought you and bring swift destruction upon yourself – oh eternally saved, but saved as though by fire, or in solitude and silence you will seek Him in humble submission of heart: for I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

• The Holy Spirit must always present to me the Lord Jesus Christ, that I may grow and have peace. -J.N.D.

• “Very often new believers who have not even peace with God are encouraged to take up service, and they become so occupied with what they are doing that they are not at leisure to learn or to take their place in the favor of the Father.

• Peace and Prosperity It was to be a time of peace and prosperity when God would dwell with His people.

• He was only a guide to benighted pilgrims, shepherding them into the way of Peace.

• Sufficient Grace He giveth more grace when the burdens grow greater,He sendeth more strength when the labours increase;To added afflictions He addeth His mercies –To multiplied trials, He multiplies peace.

• He knew that the chastisement for our peace was upon Him... His own dear Son, and that by His stripes we are healed.

• The songs of Zacharias and Mary are touching pictures of God’s faithfulness down through the centuries – to fulfil all that He promised to His people Israel. There are many glimpses of the love of God, which is seen to extend beyond the boundaries of Israel, and there are even some hidden hints of the future church of Christ for the everlasting King, Who is to sit on David’s throne is the Prince of Peace, Whose kingdom will last forever, and Whose glory will cover the earth.

• Care and Concerns How often and how frequently our hearts are prone to worry and anxiety, fret or fear. How often our brow is furrowed with tension as the pains of life reflects in our face. How frequently fear of the future or personal problems divide or distract our hearts. How regrettable that cares and concerns of life should steal the Lord’s perfect peace.
• His word brings life and light – health and wholeness – grace and perfect peace.

• times of refreshment and peace – and He shows us His glory-life in the flush of new-life in Christ..

• Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom His favour rests.
• First Evangels It was an angelic throng who were the first evangels that proclaimed the good news of a Saviour, as they abruptly burst through the blackness of night with their joyful news – the Light of God was in the world to bring peace and life to all who would believe. The world needed to know that the Prince of Peace had come to earth to bring hope to a dying race and peace to men of goodwill…  peace to all who trust Him as Saviour.
• Christ the Lord The message told of a Saviour, Who was Christ the Lord – born in the city of David. This Messiah of Israel was not to be discovered in a palace, clad in the rich apparel of a king,  accompanied by great pomp and ceremony – but in a cow’s feeding trough. The words of the angelic multitude glorified God in the highest and told of peace..
• but this was not the sort of peace offered by the world, but an inward tranquillity and rest.
• Specified Peace The race of man to whom the angels had been sent were ‘children of wrath’, who were at enmity with the Creator – dead in their sins and without any hope in the world. The peace of which the angels sang was not a universal peace, with goodwill to all men, but a specified peace for men of goodwill – peace with God – through His Son. The peace that was proclaimed by the angelic host was the perfect peace of God, which is the right of those that trust in Christ – the only begotten Son of the Father.
• Goodwill of God The proclamation of peace on earth did not speak of goodwill among men towards each other – but spoke of the Goodwill of God towards all those who would trust in His only begotten Son as Saviour… to men of goodwill – for the peace of God can only come to man, through the blood of Christ Jesus – our Lord.

• Giving one's all into God's keeping brings rest and peace. -A.M.

• May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 15:13 NIV)

• To know Christ as Saviour is to know peace in our soul and have rest in our heart.

• We are the temple of God with the permanently indwelling Spirit of God as God’s deposit of grace. We were foreknown of God and chosen by Him – sealed and adopted forever, Amen. We were showered with the riches of eternal life – endowed with God’s spiritual gifts. We were baptised into Christ – made peace with God and given the peace of God. He started a good work in us and prepared good works for us to do in His strength – and then in His grace rewards us for the work He carried out in our lives – what grace. Thanks be to God for His unimaginable gift!

• to heal the sick, to cleanse the leper, to cast out demons and to proclaim peace.

• He is life and health and wholeness and peace and freedom.
• A Different Dimension He is not the life and peace that the world craves but life on a different dimension.

• our utter, total submission to Christ – our full, entire surrender. The most needful thing is encompassed and encapsulated in one Person, and His name is the Prince Of Peace.
• Prince of Peace In Isaiah 9:6 we read that: His name shall be called the “Prince of Peace.
• In trials and tribulations, He is our PEACE.

• Jesus - His name will be called Wonderful. Jesus - His name will be called Counselor. Jesus - His name will be called Mighty God. Jesus - His name will be called Everlasting Father. Jesus - His name will be called Prince of Peace. Jesus - And they shall call His name Immanuel - He shall be God with us.

• For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His name shall be called Wonderful Counsellor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace.Isaiah 9:6
• Angels looked on in amazed wonder as the Word of God; the Wonderful Counsellor; the Mighty God; the Everlasting Father – the Prince of Peace was dressed in mortal flesh..
• Prince of Peace Jesus is indeed the Prince of Peace, for by His death He made peace with God on our account and clothed us in His robe of righteousness.
• By His resurrected life He gives us the peace of God which passes human comprehension and when He went to the Father to prepare a place for us with Him in heaven – He left us His own perfect peace. He said, I’m leaving My peace.
• I’m giving you My own peace.
• It’s not the peace the world seeks after but MY peace….
• Gift of Salvation The keynote of Isaiah’s forty years ministry was – Salvation is of the Lord and so the Son of the Most High was supernaturally begotten in the womb of a virgin – so that He could save His people from their sins and become our Wonderful Counsellor; our Mighty God; our Everlasting Father – our Prince of Peace.

• Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. (Ephesians 4:3 NIV)

• Peace and Redemption To Gideon, the frightened, He became SHALOM, and declared I AM your PEACE.
• Then the LORD said to him: “Peace be with you; do not fear, you shall not die.
• And to us, He reveals Himself day by day – as our peace.
• “And, having made peace through the blood of His cross, by Him to reconcile all things unto Himself; by Him, [whether they be] things in earth, or things in heaven].

• Peace and Satisfaction The soul of man was made for God and needs fellowship with God.
• Without God, the heart and soul of man is lost and in bondage to a cruel taskmaster – but when a lost soul returns to the Lord he finds peace and satisfaction.

• A time to love, and a time to hate;A time for war, and a time for peace.

• Instead of harassing your mind about it, present it to Him; and it is not said that He will necessarily give you what you ask, but He gives you His peace.

• Peace is offered to the mind that is stayed on Him and focused on Him: Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee, because he trusts in Thee.
• Faith is the prerequisite to pardon, peace; purity, and power.
• Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee, because he trusts in thee.

• You and I are to be here as those who in themselves convince others because we embody His rest, we embody His peace, we embody His strength, and we count for something.

• Be long-suffering and forbearing with one another -in love – Oh, and endeavour to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace – and love each other.
• to the Colossians The Colossians were told: Be at peace among yourselves and patient toward all men.

• We only worship in the measure in which we appreciate the grace of God.... You remember that a favorite way to Paul of opening his letters was with three words: Grace, mercy, and peace, be unto you.
• Wonderful grace, grace that could never be explained; boundless mercy; and peace with God.

• And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Thess. 5:23).

• And in 1Thessalonians 5:23, Paul prays: Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
• Sanctification Prayer Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

• Christ is our peace, we have access to the Father, we are sealed by God, and the Spirit of God dwells in each one of His children.

• His prayer for his readers is that God's grace and peace would flood their hearts in the fullest measure.

• When we abide in Christ and He abides in us, the fruit of the Spirit is the product that will flow through us - and the fruit that Christ produces through us will be love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

• Indeed the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control..

• We are not only to trust Him when the great giants of opposition and oppression are put to flight, but we are to keep on trusting Him when our faith in God is severely tried, when we are insulted and persecuted, and when others say all kinds of evil against us falsely for Christ's sake, for He is a faithful God Who does not change, He abides forever, and He has established His throne in the heavens for righteous judgement and everlasting peace.

• Both books of Ezra and Nehemiah detail the fulfilment of these prophesies, and no doubt we will see a full, final, and lasting fulfilment, following Christ's return at the end of the Tribulation, when Israel will be brought back to her homeland and dwell there in peace and prosperity, never again to be uprooted from the land promised to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

• I AM is the title Christ used to identify Himself as the eternal God and Prince of Peace so many times during His earthly walk.

• He came to open our eyes to the truth of His Word and to direct our feet into the path of peace, and the way of truth.

• And now, in Israel's last days, Scripture was being fulfilled for Israel's Messiah-King had arrived to set up His kingdom rule of peace and prosperity..

• He sings of how God will restore Israel, who will once again walk in righteousness and peace.
• After the coming judgement for their sin, a day will dawn when Israel will be redeemed and restored, and they will walk in the paths of righteousness and be covered with God's blanket of peace, for when the eyes of the heart are focused on the Lord, His perfect peace stills the soul and floods the heart.
• And this is equally true of the Church today, for when Christians set their thoughts of their hearts of Christ Jesus, they are flooded with an inner peace, an inexplicable peace, a perfect peace that only comes from above.
• In the Psalms, we read that righteousness and peace kiss each other, and the peace for which we all crave only comes as a result of righteousness.
• When the sinner-man trusts in Christ as Saviour, he is clothed in Christ's righteousness and receives peace with God.
• When the saved-man, who is clothed in Christ's own righteousness, walks in spirit and truth, he maintains fellowship with the Father and receives the perfect peace of God, which passes our comprehension.
• Yes, indeed, God gives the one who trusts in the Lord Jesus Christ as Saviour peace with God and He will keep the believer in Christ Jesus covered in His own perfect peace, by giving us the peace of God which transcends human understanding.
• Let us ensure that the thoughts of our hearts are fixed on the Lord Jesus moment by moment as we take every thought captive to Him, for God has promised to keep in perfect peace all who trust in Him and fasten the eyes of their hearts upon Him.

• He is not taken in by his smooth-talking neighbours who speak peace while their hearts are plotting evil.

• For neither is circumcision anything, nor uncircumcision, but we are a new creation and may peace be on all (Gentiles) who will walk by this rule, and may MECRY be upon 'the Israel of God'.What grace that believing Gentiles, together with believing Jews, are designated by Paul as 'the True Circumcision' because of our faith.

• David knew that in Him is abundant life and through Him we discover a joy that never ends, and a peace that floods our soul.

• He is the One Who leads us beside quiet pools of refreshments, restores our fainting soul, and guides us into the pathway of righteousness and peace.
• He is the God of all comfort and peace, Who raised Christ from the dead - Whose blood secured the everlasting covenant He promised to His people Israel.  He is our Chief Shepherd and Sovereign Lord of all, for He is the Supreme Man and Prince of all pastors and teachers.
• He preached many sermons and proclaimed His mission was to bring in His kingdom of peace and prosperity.

• The emperor had nothing to worry about from this peaceful Person, and so he passed His verdict back to Christ's accusers: Pilate said to the chief priests and the crowds, 'I find no guilt in this Man.' He found no blemish in the Lamb of God.

• Not only was he King of Righteousness and Peace, living in Jerusalem, but Melchizedek was also Priest of the Most-High God.

• Jacob even declared at Bethel that if God would be with him - to keep and protect him in the way that he should go and bring him back to his father's house in peace - then the Lord would be his God and he would be God's servant.

• In Christ is all that we need for life and godliness; in Christ we become a new creation and part of His Body, with a new life and new hope of glory; in Christ we have peace with God and access to the peace of God in our hearts.

• He is the Word of Life, the Word of Truth, the Word of Peace, and the Word of Hope.

• The Law of Moses and God's promises to David were given to direct the nation towards the road of righteousness and the path to peace where they would find rest for their soul.

• He gives us His perfect peace in our hearts and an unshakable confidence in the gospel of Christ.

• They liked the idea of a time of peace and prosperity when the wolf would lie down with the lamb and each of them would sit under their own fig tree in the kingdom of God.
• Christ's kingdom of peace and prosperity can only take place when Israel repents of their sin nationally.

• In the penultimate verse of Ephesians, Paul is offering a familiar and well-loved salutation to his brothers and sisters in Christ: Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.Peace, love, and faith are three spiritual qualities that are sprinkled in unfettered abundance throughout Paul's writings, and yet they retain a freshness each time they are bestowed on God's children of faith.Only once in the New Testament, is this phrase peace be to the brethren, used.
• Indeed, the peace of God which passes all human comprehension, is a gracious gift from our Heavenly Father which is promised to all His children through Jesus Christ our Lord, for it guards the heart and mind of all who cast their cares upon Him.God's peace is the gracious gift that under-girds our going out and our coming in, and every man or woman of faith in Christ, is promised that heavenly peace will garrison our heart and mind in every difficult circumstance or troublesome situation.
• The peace of Jesus is also our precious portion, for our dear Saviour bestowed His heavenly peace on each one of us when He said, Peace I leave with You.
• MY peace I give unto you.The amazing love of God, binds us together in worship and praise to our Heavenly Father Whose loves for us is so profound, that He gave His only begotten Son to become our substitute for sin, while the supernatural love of Jesus is such that while we were yet sinners, Christ died on our account so that we might be forgiven of our sin, receive a new life in Him, become united with Christ and abide with Him forever.Faith, enables us to worship in spirit and truth.
• It empowers us to carry out the work that God has prepared for us to do and it emboldens us to engage in the spiritual warfare of this age, effectively: For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and satanic powers, who prowl around, seeking to destroy our ministry and taint our testimony.Peace and love with faith, comes directly from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
• The unity of the triune Godhead, combines to bestow peace to the brethren, and love with faith.

• We are also encouraged to bear with one another in love and to keep the unity of the spirit in the bond of peace, knowing that we are one in Christ and united together in one faith, one hope, one baptism, and one Lord.
• Rather, we are to be ruled or governed by the Holy Spirit Who brings forth love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

• Paul never wanted anyone to become complacent in their faith and always made a point of reminding others of the joy we have in Christ, and so his letter to this 'son in the faith began by reminding him of God's amazing goodness and grace, the privileged peace we have with God through our great salvation, and the perfect peace of God that can guard our heart when our mind is stayed on Him.
• And so, early in his greeting to Titus, Paul writes the encouraging truth that has become the privilege of all God's children: Grace and peace to you, from God the Father and from Christ Jesus our Saviour.
• It is by His grace through faith in Christ that we have peace with God, for we have been forgiven of our sins and received eternal life - through faith in Him.
• It is also by God's grace that we have the peace of God in our hearts.
• His peace resides deep within our inner man and is our ever-present possession, when we look to Jesus and focus the eyes of our minds upon HIM.

• And they will live in peace and prosperity under Jesus' protection.

• In this psalm, we see a beautiful portrait of God as our good and faithful Shepherd Who leads us by still waters and guides us into the way of peace.
• Though we live in the war-zone of this fallen world system, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ... and the peace of God which guards our hearts in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation.

• Isaiah's comforting words tell of a future glory in Zion, for the Deliverer will come with healing on His wings to set up His eternal kingdom and to rule this world with equity, justice, and peace.

• He is our Peace and our Hope, He is our Provider and Protector, He is Life and Light, He is Shepherd and Shield, and in Him is salvation.

• We are called into the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace, but too often there is strife and acrimony among believers and feuds between Christian workers or groups of believers.

• We are to display the fruit of the Spirit in the bond of peace and we are to demonstrate the gracious characteristics that only come from above, in our everyday life and pattern of living.

• Do not destroy with your food, him for whom Christ died, was his clear instruction, Do not let what is a good thing for you be spoken of as evil, he continued, for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.  Paul did not want the liberty some Christians enjoyed to offend a weaker brother or cause them to stumble in their Christian journey.
• The kingdom of heaven is about righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.  Our conscience and concern for others should dictate what we do.
• Righteousness, peace and the joy of the Lord is an inner loveliness shining through the one who is loving the Lord Jesus, and seeking His kingdom first.
• Righteousness, peace and inner joy is the gracious fruit of the Spirit that is formed in someone who is submitted to His leading and guidance.  The kingdom of God is a matter of righteousness, peace, and joy, which proceeds from the one that is walking in spirit and truth.
• Righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit comes through faith in HIM.

• We are to clothe ourselves in humility before God our Father, and we are to walk in the unity of the Spirit, in the bond of peace.

• BUT GOD Who is loving, gracious, long-suffering, and faithful, pronounced His bitter rod of severe chastening due to their apostasy, which would also prove to be a blossoming staff of sweet comfort and peace, grace and mercy, love, and hope, and joy.
• He gave them a promise of future peace and wonderful hope, not a pledge of punishment that would result in their ultimate disaster and destruction.
• But despite their disobedience toward the holy one of Israel, the gracious thoughts God had towards His people, and the future plans He had prepared for them, were designed to prosper them and bring them peace and comfort, safety and success.
• We have an assurance that whatever we may have to face today, God's thoughts toward us are only good continually: 'For I know the plans that I have for you,' declares the LORD. 'They are plans for peace and not disaster, plans to give you a future filled with hope.'

• Though Solomon trusted God, he had not 'proved' the Lord in the same difficult life-challenging circumstances that his father, David, had faced when enemies encompassed him on every side or when his sin consumed his peace of mind.

• John is often referred to as the apostle of love while Paul is seen as the apostle of grace - but the truth of the gospel of Christ is rooted and grounded in love and grace - together with mercy and compassion, goodness and faithfulness, joy and peace in believing, patience and self-control.

• He calls us to be of one mind, to have unity of spirit in the bond of peace, to hold fast together our faith in Christ Jesus and the gospel of grace, and to live in harmony one with the other.

• Others identify it as the perfect way to live, if humanity is to bring in everlasting peace and prosperity onto the earth.Some suggest that this only applies to Christ's Jewish disciples during His pre-Cross ministry, while others suggest that this is to be the standard required during the 7-year Tribulation or Christ’s Millennial kingdom on earth.
• He came to bring peace on earth and goodwill to all men, for He was that light for the Gentiles.

• Like Paul, we can enrich the lives of others as we point them into the pathway of peace.

• It was Paul to whom the mystery of the Church, which is the Body of Christ, was entrusted, and Jesus Christ was the one Who not only preached the message of peace, but became incarnate peace for mankind: peace with God and peace with each other.
• Christ tore down legalistic walls and ethnic walls, and He even rent asunder the entrenched spiritual wall by making peace between the two.
• The Cross, which condemned both Jew and Gentile as sinners in need of a Saviour, is the same Cross that unites the two into the one Body of Christ, bringing peace to all who were far off and peace to those that were near, by means of His shed blood on Calvary's Cross.

• Jesus brought peace to Jew and Gentile alike through the blood of the eternal covenant, for our GREAT Shepherd of the sheep came to save all His people from their sins.

• Suffering with Christ is simply a portal which translates His blood-bought believers into His eternal joy, and as sinners saved by grace, we have peace with God for the forgiveness of sin and the peace of God in our heart.

• For Christ has promised to save us from the power of sin, the guilt of sin, the nature of sin, and the punishment of sin, but also to sanctify to the uttermost, body, soul, and spirit as day by day His Holy Spirit is conforming us into the image and likeness of Christ Jesus our Lord.His saving grace is not only for the eternal ages to come but will be carried through to its ultimate completion, for He will never abandon any that have trusted in His name as Saviour and who have come to Him for pardon and peace.

• This is the glorious song of ecstatic praise and great rejoicing that Israel will sing in harmonic unison in that future day, when the saved remnant of God's chosen people will eat of the fruit of the land of Israel in peace and security.

• And we should live in obedience to our Lord Jesus Christ so that His grace and peace may be multiplied to all who are called by His name.

• Although we are eternally saved and in positional union with Christ forever, sin separates us from God, for sin interrupts our fellowship with God, causing us to be separated from all that makes for life and health and peace in our hearts.

• The faithfulness, mercy, goodness, and grace of God, are no less true today than during that time when David discovered the Lord was his Shepherd Who gently leads him beside the still waters, faithfully guides him into the way of peace, guards him in the valley of the shadow of death, and prepares a plentiful table of good things in the midst of all his enemies.

• Let us therefore in love and grace be sensitive to the needs of others, neither compromising the gospel of Christ nor causing our liberty in Christ to be a stumbling block to other brothers and sisters in Christ: Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification.

• He came to guide His own people into the way of peace.

• He was to rise again on the third day, be seated on the right hand of the Majesty of high, and set up His millennial kingdom of peace and prosperity, sitting on the throne of David and surrounded by His chosen people, Israel.

• He exhorted them (and us) to allow God remould our minds from within so that we may demonstrate, by our practice, that we are progressing towards the goal of true, spiritual maturity - in the bond of peace and love.
• As Paul begins to draw his letter to a close, he issues an important reminder about the character of God: For God is not a God of disorder but a God of peace.
• These carnal believers needed to be reminded that: God is not a God of disorder, but a God of peace, which is a characteristic that should be reflected within all the churches of the saints.
• Correction should be done in the spirit of love and the bond of peace, without compromising the gospel of God.
• There should be unity in the essentials of our faith, liberty and Christian courtesy surrounding any non-essential doctrinal issues, and godly love and graciousness should be demonstrated in the actions and attitudes we show towards our brothers and sisters in Christ - knowing that God is not a God of confusion but the God of peace.

• I don't think there is a more meaningful greeting or significant salutation given to man, than this duet of grace and peace found in all Paul's letters.
• Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
• The grace of God, which brings peace with God, is the most important element in the whole of Scripture, for it is only through the grace of God that all His other characteristics can be manifested.
• Only by grace through faith can we experience the beautiful fruit of the Spirit in our hearts - love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
• By grace we have an inheritance kept for us in heaven, and through His gift of grace, we have God's multifaceted peace -  peace with God, through our Lord Jesus Christ, and the peace of God to guard our heart.
• It is significant that whenever Paul writes this meaningful salutation in His epistles, Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, it is always Grace that is the leading blessing, while Peace is the privilege that follows in its wake.
• It is only by grace that the sin barrier between man and God can be broken down, through faith, and we can receive peace with God.
• PEACE is not simply freedom from conflict.
• The peace that flows from the grace of God embraces a multiplicity of meanings including peace with God, as a free gift of salvation to all that believe, as well as the peace of God which imparts a tranquillity of soul, which is beautifully bestowed through His Spirit of peace, into the heart of a believer who is walking in spirit and truth.
• Both peace WITH God and the peace OF God are impossible without grace - the unconditional, unmerited gracious favour of God our Father and the gracious love and tender mercy, that was poured out for us on Calvary's cross.
• We live in an increasingly ungracious environment in an increasingly unlovely and hostile world-in-conflict, but as God's children, we are to absorb this duet of complementary characteristics, Grace and Peace, into the warp and weft of our beings.
• And we are to show forth His loving-kindness, patient endurance, gracious favour and perfect peace through the witness of our lives - which is only possible as we rest in Him.
• Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, has become a familiar and well-loved greeting, through the letters of Paul, but I doubt that in time or in eternity we will gain a full depth of understanding of what the all-embracing grace of God and the supernatural peace of God truly means.
• But in the words of the apostle Peter, May grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord.

• And when faith in Christ's sacrificial work is finally received into the heart, that man or woman is born of the Spirit of God and a thirsty soul who aches for peace with God is satisfied.

• But a day is coming when they will dwell in their land in true peace and safety.
• This is the day when the true Prince of peace will bring 'Shalom' into their hearts forever.

• John loved his Lord Jesus so passionately, and longed that nothing would estrange these converts from the only path of righteousness, peace and joy.

• Both the Lord Jesus and the apostle Paul were acutely aware of the delight, the strength, the grace, and the peace, that flows from this blessed communion with our Saviour, when we rest and abide in Christ and He in us.
• We are to be covered completely in Christ's own perfect righteousness and peace, and as we live for His glory and wait in hope and expectancy for His soon return; Whom to know is life eternal.

• There is no more beneficial activity than reflecting, pondering and contemplating the Word of God, which is nourishment for the soul, rest for the weary, peace for the troubled, comfort for the afflicted, and instruction for the man of God.

• And reconciliation to God, gives birth to righteousness, peace, and joy in the Lord.
• But of all the godly qualities that are demanded of God's children by their Father, three important issues have been brought to the focus of our attention: righteousness, peace, and joy, all of which can be summed up in the righteous requirements of a holy God.
• Peace is the status that we are called upon when dealing with our fellow men and Christian brothers so that as far as it depends on us, we are to live at peace with all men, reflecting the character of our heavenly Prince.
• Let us walk in righteousness, peace, and joy today, glorifying God in all we do.

• He must watch over them tenderly and search out lush pasture for them to eat, and calm pools of water where they can drink in peace and safety.

• They were anticipating a golden reign of peace and prosperity but ignored the need to repent of their sins and believe in Jesus as Lord and Saviour.
• Jesus came as the Man of Peace preaching a message of peace: Peace with God for all who believe, and the peace of God to guard their hearts.

• It was GRACE that caused the Lord Jesus to stretch out His hands and be pierced for our transgressions, and it is only through His shed BLOOD that we have been brought near to the Father and have been given peace with God.
• We did not receive peace with God through things such as human merit, religious strivings, self-abasement, fleshly works, or prescribed penances.

• It was their failure to follow God's commands and keep their covenant promises that caused Israel to be punished, and so the restoration of the Sheep Gate, on that eastern side of the city, must have played a significant role in raising the morale of the people, helping to keep them on task in maintaining the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

• One of the many important free gifts of God's grace to all believers is that we are justified, we are made right with God, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
• We have peace with God by faith, which means that instead of being at enmity with God through sin, we are at peace with God through faith in Christ.
• Every person who has accepted the free gift of salvation through the shed blood of Christ has peace with God from the moment of salvation and continuing for the whole of their life.
• However, the peace of God is a state that can change throughout a believer's life.
• Paul explains how we can experience the peace of God: Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
• And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Isaiah also reiterates this: You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.
• How wonderful that we can have both peace with God and the peace of God as we walk through this life that can be full of strife, discord, and unrest.

• May we be still in His presence, cease from all our strivings, and be at peace in His company Whom to know is life eternal.

• When we are quietly resting in His presence and secure in the hope that is set before us, the peace of God which passes understanding will flood the heart and soul of all who walk godly in Christ Jesus.

• Because we are already justified, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
• And because we have peace with the Father we have gained access, by that faith, into the grace into which we have been established.
• Not only do the glories of our justification result in peace with God, a firm standing in God's grace, and a rejoicing hope in Him, but we can allow His peace to reign in our hearts so that we can even exult in our tribulations, knowing the trials of life and the difficulties we endure bring about perseverance which develops strength of character and a solid hope in the Lord.

• The brotherhood of believers became one Body, and Christ reconciled them to God through the Cross so that Jew and Gentile alike are justified through faith, and have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

• God knows that those that trust Him and believe His Word are truly rich – for the outcome of believing on the Lord Jesus Christ is forgiveness of sins, peace with God, a new life in Christ, the indwelling Comforter, joint-heirship in Christ's coming kingdom, and a glorious and eternal heavenly home, among a multitude of wonderful blessings that are showered on all who are rich in faith by trusting His Word.

• Scripture is our secure guidebook to return us into a right relationship with the Lord when we abandon the road of righteousness or stray from the path of peace.

• Second: When He returns with power and great glory as the Lamb on the throne (the Lion of Judah), when peace like a river will flow throughout the land.

• We immediately see the Lord working through Daniel, whom He used to interpret King Nebuchadnezzar's troubling dream, while revealing the course that human history would take, from the days of the Babylonian Empire to the time Jesus will return to earth to destroy the kingdoms of this world and set up His prophesied Millennial kingdom, of peace, prosperity, and righteousness.

• Peacemakers are not the people who simply want peace or long for peace.
• They are not the governments that pass laws on peace, or legislators who write policies on peacekeeping.
• As Christians, we have peace with God through faith, and have been made ministers of reconciliation, so that fallen sinners may be reconciled back to God and gain true peace in their heart.
• Christ came to earth to reveal God's goodness and grace, and His death on the cross opened the way for fallen man to find peace with God - to be reconciled back to Him through faith in His Son.
• During Christ's absence from the earth, those who believe on His name have been entrusted with a life-work that proclaims the gospel of grace to a lost world, so that men, who are dead in their sin and estranged from God, may know the truth, be saved by grace through faith in Christ and find peace with God.
• Man seeks after empty happiness and longs for peace in a world at war, but the child of God who has been saved by grace through the sacrificial work of Christ on Calvary's cross, gains more than happiness.
• He is blessed to be reconciled to God and to have peace with Him through the forgiveness of sin.
• But there is so much more, for we who have peace with God, in a world at war, and we have the peace of God within.
• We have been promised when we rest in Him and walk in spirit and truth, His peace will guard our heart and guide our path.
• Our initial salvation brings peace WITH God but during our walk of faith through the journey of life, we can enjoy the peace OF God - God's continuous, divine peace in our hearts, Let not your heart be troubled, Jesus told his confused disciples just before He was to walk to the cross, Let not your heart be troubled, you believe in God, believe also in Me.
• We who believe, can receive that peace that passes understanding as we remain in right relationship with the Father, through faith in the Son.
• We are to be witnesses to the truth of the gospel and preach the truth to every creature - that peace with God IS possible by His grace, through faith in Christ.
• There is a blessing that is pronounced on peace-makers.
• Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. Godly peace-makers are indeed blessed folk who seek to live peaceably with all men, through prayer, and to actively intervene to make peace, when strife and animosity raises its ugly head.
• As God directs, they follow after peace without any spiritual compromise, while binding up the broken peace of others, which is caused by depression, disease, divorce, and distress.
• Peace-making is not the attitude that cries 'peace at any cost, so let's not rock the boat', nor are peacemakers those who march around carrying banners or sit around selfishly seeking their own well-being with little interest in the distress, discomfort or discordant lives of others.
• True peace is not found in a ten-step meditation programme, a walk in nature, thinking about nice things or relaxing on a beach, although these activities may provide certain benefits.
• Blessings of peace come from the Father of peace, and the blessedness of peace-making rests on the Prince of Peace, Who has become both Founder and Finisher of all our peace, and imparts His eternal peace by His Spirit of Peace, which flows out of us to others as we rest in Christ and permit His peace to flood our heart.
• Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, do I give to you.
• May we who have made peace with God by believing on His Son as Saviour, continue our Christian journey by walking in spirit and truth, maintaining that blessed fellowship and peaceable communion with God our Father.
• And may we become ambassadors of God's peace in a world at war, through our ministry of reconciliation - through Him Who is our one and only mediator between God and man - Jesus Christ our Lord.

• Eve knew her Seed would crush the serpent's head and Abraham looked for a city, whose Builder and Maker was God.Israel were promised a land and a kingdom of peace and prosperity, with a descendant of king David sitting on the royal throne – and the Lord Jesus was sent to earth at God's appointed time, to take up His position as King of Israel and Saviour of the world.Repent Israel, for the kingdom of God is at hand, was the cry of John the Baptist, but Israel rejected the kingdom and their King – and they crucified their Messiah.
• They cried with a loud voice, We will not have this Man to rule over us, and so the kingdom was set aside for a season and Jesus, the Crown-Prince of heavenly glory, returned to His Father's throne until a future time when He would be accepted by His people, seated on the throne of David, and crowned as their eternal King, Sovereign Lord, and promised Messiah.Today, the kingdom has been postponed and the Prince of Peace continues to be Israel's 'King-in-Waiting'.

• David's proclamation should be the hymn that fills the lips of all the saints of God for the Lord Jesus is the light of the world and in Him is life eternal, as well as safety and strength, purity and peace.
• He is not only our light and salvation, but He is our light and life, our strength and peace, our salvation and our God.

• But as God's blood-bought children, we are beloved of the Father Who disciplines those He loves so that we will be trained through the sufferings of this world, and afterwards enjoy the peaceful fruit of righteousness.
• How necessary to hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, and to pursue peace and holiness for our God and Saviour Whose promises are faithful and true.
• Peace and holiness are to be our spiritual condition as well as our spiritual position.
• As His children we are already at peace with God because He forgave us our sins by grace through faith.
• But we are also to make every effort to maintain the inner peace of God that surpasses human understanding, by maintaining a mind that is stayed in Him.
• Jesus said, Peace I leave with you.
• My peace I give to you.
• It is as we turn the eyes of our heart upon Jesus and fix the thoughts of our mind on Him that His peace, like a river, will flood our heart.
• Because we are His children, by faith, we have been permanently positioned in-Christ, which has given us peace with God, the forgiveness of sins, and life everlasting.
• But now that we have been saved by grace through faith in Him, we are to strive to live in peace with all people and to pursue godly consecration and holiness of heart without which, we are told, no one will ever see the Lord.
• We are directed to be holy and blameless in His sight, and to pursue after peace and holiness, in love.
• It is only through the empowering of the Holy Spirit that we can: Pursue peace with all, and holiness, without which no one shall see the Lord.
• There are many perils and dangers for the one that fails to pursue peace and rejects Christ's call to holiness.
• Unless we are saved by faith, we cannot have peace with God and unless we are walking in spirit and truth, we will not know the peace of God.

• The triplet of love, joy, and peace, demonstrates an inner quality that permeates the entire disposition of the one that is producing this fruit of the Spirit, as they grow in grace and are being conformed into the image and likeness of Christ, through the power of the indwelling Spirit.
• But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
• Spiritual JOY is from the Lord, and gives strength and rejoicing, even in the midst of problematic and painful circumstances, while spiritual PEACE is inner tranquillity and godly composure, that is free from anxiety through faith in God's Word.
• While some people are adept at perfecting certain of these spiritual characteristics in their own strength, the fruit of the Spirit, which is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control, can only be genuinely manifested in a spirit-filled man or woman.

• Indeed, it is recorded that there were over 60 million slaves in Paul's day, and much attention was given, in Scripture, to the instruction and conduct of slaves, as well as their slave-masters.People often offered themselves as slaves when they fell on hard times, and Paul gave important instructions on how to carry out their duties as unto the Lord, even when their masters were unfair.Although he gave instructions on godly living as a slave, Paul also encouraged those in slavery to secure their freedom whenever possible: If you are able also to become free, rather do that, was His wise advice.Of particular importance, it is to be noted that nowhere in Scripture are members of Christ's Body instructed to engage in the abolishment of slavery or the correction of any other social injustices, in preference to our given ministry to the lost.Jesus said, The poor you will have with you always, and Paul could easily have said, slaves will continue to be with you (however distasteful this is) until Christ's return when He comes to set up His earthly kingdom of peace, prosperity, righteousness, and justice.Although we must certainly stand against the evils of our day, protect those that are weak, help those that are afflicted by social injustices, and show patience towards all men, the preeminent function of the Christian Church is to honour the Lord and tell sinners about Jesus – that He died to pay the price for our sin and rose again so that all who believe on Him will not perish, but have eternal life.We are told to go into all the world and preach the word of truth to a lost and dying humanity.

• He has promised to cover us with His gentle calm and protect us by His perfect peace, when our hearts rest in Him.

• And once again we are reminded that when faith is founded on this One, sure Foundation, nothing can destroy our hope, demolish our faith, disturb our peace, or disrupt our fellowship with the Lover of our soul, for when we remain in Christ and He in us, we become irrepressible conquerors and overwhelming victors.

• God's call on David's life was to fight the enemies of His people and to establish peace in the Promised Land.
• The lives of both these kings were used by God to illustrate different aspects of the Person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ Who, like David, would shepherd His people Israel and, like Solomon, will one day set up His eternal kingdom of peace and prosperity, to the praise of God and for the benefit of humankind.

• When we rest in His sufficient strength, we always discover it is all we need, but how often we forgo the perfect peace He promises, simply because we trusted in self before our Saviour, or lived in accordance with what we see rather that what God says.

• He will rule the nations with a rod of iron, but He will rule in righteousness and peace, and there will be worldwide rejoicing when Jesus Christ returns to set up His Millennial Kingdom on earth. 

• But in His farewell discourse, Jesus took time to reassure His frightened little flock that His perfect peace would flood their heart and mind, if they would trust the words He had spoken to them and believe the things He had taught them.
• His promise of peace is given to those who hear and believe His Word.
• His blessed peace rests in the heart of all that abide in His love.
• The Lord offers us His perfect peace which can be found IN HIM.
• We find His peace as we look to Him.
• We gain His peace as we trust His Word.
• We discover His peace as we believe His promises and take them to heart.
• these things I have spoken to you so that IN ME, you may have peace.
• Never will we gain that peace which passes understanding unless we are in Him, in fellowship with Him, in sweet communion with Him, resting in the promises He has taught us in His Word.
• It is as we rest in Him and abide in His love that the peace of God, which passes human comprehension, will flood our hearts and quiet our minds.
• In Me you will have the peace that passes human understanding.

• God continued for centuries to unveil His name, His character, and His attributes to His people, Israel, who were to discover the Lord to be their Banner, their Healer, their Peace, their Shepherd, their Rock, their Redeemer, and their King, but eventually God gave the greatest revelation of Himself through the Person and work of His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

• And so, we are called upon to live as unto the Lord in the power of the Holy Spirit; to be at peace among ourselves, to warn those who are being irresponsible, to comfort the discouraged, to help the weak, and to be patient with everyone.

• This will be a day of great rejoicing and much joy, a day of blessing and grace, of health and happiness, of righteousness and justice, of prosperity, peace and pardon.

• Christ spoke many things to His disciples so that His love and peace could reign in their hearts and that their joy might be full to overflowing, but the joy of the Lord is often couched in the fellowship of His suffering and pain so that the good purpose of the Lord is fulfilled to their eternal benefit and to the glory of God.

• God in His grace had slowly and beautifully unveiled Himself to His creation as our Father and Lord, our Provider and Peace, and He revealed Himself as our Healer and Helper, our Shepherd and Shield.

• This is when the God of peace Himself sanctifies us entirely.

• Though judgement was necessary and punishment inevitable, due to the nation's ongoing disobedience, nevertheless the promised kingdom of righteousness would one day be set up where peace and prosperity would be established and all God's promises to His people would be fulfilled.

• Being reconciled to God does not depend on what we do but rests entirely on what Christ has already done, and by simply trusting that His finished work on the Cross has paid the full price for our sin, we are reconciled back to God; we have peace with Him and are regarded as blameless in His sight.

• It is the mystery of all mysteries, that the chastisement of our peace was upon Him, and with His stripes, we are healed.

• In his desire to warn believers of the increasing numbers of false teachers and heresies that were bombarding the Church of his day, Jude wrote an epistle of encouragement and advice, but he begins with a beautiful greeting; a prayer that has travelled down the centuries to the Body of Christ, and an entreaty to God that mercy and peace and love be multiplied to all those who in Christ Jesus our Lord.
• Jude knew that the Church of his day was facing difficult days, and would be comforted and encouraged, knowing that he was praying for multiplied mercy, peace, and love for them.
• He asked that an overflowing abundance of mercy, peace, and love be showered on all who trust in Jesus. He knew that wolves were prowling around seeking to scatter the little flock of God, and so he asked the Father for mercy to help in time of need and for an abundance of peace and love, in the midst of difficult times.
• This prayer for multiplied blessings of mercy, peace, and love is equally needed today.
• Let us unite to plead God's mercy and peace and love on all Who are in Christ Jesus.

• The chastisement of our peace was upon Him, and with His stripes we are healed.

• So may the God of peace Himself sanctify each of us entirely; and may our spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Thessalonians 5:23)

• He was to be the One Who would guide their feet into the way of peace.

• But the man that trusts in God is clothed in confidence and strengthened in his faith, which glorifies the Father.Oh what peace and power, excellence and grace there is in trusting the Lord.

• Peter also knew the amazing grace and perfect peace that comes when sins are covered.

• It was fellow Jews who had insisted in the segregation of circumcised Jewish believers from uncircumcised Gentiles Christians – and Peter caved into their pressure.Peter wanted a peaceful existence, and although he was a pillar of the early Christian Church who knew that salvation was by faith and not by following the Law, he crumbled from pressure and withdrew himself FEARING those of the circumcision.May we know the truth, stand fast on the Word of God, and not allow ourselves to compromise the glorious gospel of Christ through fear of the world, fear of our Christian brethren, or fear of our fellow man.

• For the Lord is our Provider and Peace; our Strength and Stay; our Righteousness and our Reward; our Sanctuary and our Shepherd.
• He lets me rest in green meadows; He leads me beside peaceful streams.

• The world is weary and war-torn, and individually and nationally the world longs for peace.
• People yearn for a ruler who will usher in a golden age of peace and prosperity.
• A time is indeed coming when the earth shall be filled with justice and peace, and the King of righteousness will reign supreme over the whole earth.
• He will judge with equity and peace, but it will never come about through the manipulations of men, democratic rule, imposed authoritarianism, or by majority votes in governmental ballot boxes.
• The mountains will bring forth peace and justice will be given to the poor.
• Prophets, priests, psalmists, and other holy men of God have prophesied of that coming time when this utopic peace will be established on earth and Jesus will be the supreme Ruler of the whole world.

• The result was PEACE: Peace with God for forgiven sinners, and the peace of God within the hearts of all who trust in Christ as Saviour.

• In order to be worthy of our calling, we are to walk in humility of heart and gentleness of spirit, showing tolerance to one another and godly patience - as we walk in love, bear one another's burdens, and strive to preserve in the unity of the Spirit, in the bond of peace.

• On that day, the Son of Man will sit upon His own glorious throne in the city of Jerusalem at the beginning of His thousand year 'Millennium' reign of peace and prosperity on earth.
• He will bring peace and righteousness to this war-torn world, for He alone is the long expected Prince of peace, He alone is the eternal King of Righteousness.

• But during Christ's coming reign of peace and prosperity, Jesus will sit on David's throne and rule the world in justice and in righteousness.
• For millennia, man has sought to create Utopia and bring in a time of peace and prosperity for all.
• Over multiple centuries, governments and groups have attempted to unite the world into a one-world government, where world peace dominates the entire globe and all nations live in perfect harmony.
• God alone can achieve heaven on earth and provide peace and goodwill to all men.
• Despite having rejected the God Who created them, and having refused His gracious offer of salvation by grace through faith in Christ, man has continued on his foolish quest to establish his own form of peace into this world at war.
• Peace without God is the objective of the arrogant United Nations.
• But peace without God is impossible.

• He was not simply born to be a king, but was the promised Prince of Peace.

• While they are saying, 'Peace and safety!' then sudden destruction will come upon them like labour pains upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.

• They go on to declare the future glory of Zion, when peace like a river will forge its healing stream throughout the whole earth, which will happen during the future millennial kingdom.

• The chastisement of our peace was upon Him, and with His stripes we are healed.

• A day is coming when Christ will judge the world in righteousness and all His judgements are faithful and true, for He is the express image of the invisible God Who has united justice with peace; and His everlasting name is the 'Word of God'.

• To David, He is revealed as our Shepherd... and to Gideon, we discover that God is our Peace.

• For 6000 years through creation, conscience, and the Cross of Christ, mankind has been offered peace with God through the shed blood of our Kinsman-Redeemer, the Lord Jesus Christ.

• We know Him as Jesus, the Son of the living God, and a day is coming when He will return in power and great glory, to set up His millennial kingdom and bring peace and prosperity to the whole earth.

• He was heaven's Prince of Peace Whom God anointed to be their King of kings.
• All flesh will see Jesus returning to earth in the clouds of glory at the end of the Great Tribulation, when this Prince of Peace is finally acknowledged as King of Israel and returns to take up His rightful position as KING of kings when He sets up His Millennial Kingdom – for the mouth of the LORD has spoken it.

• He explains that it is through Christ that we have peace with God, and it is by grace through faith in Him that we have access to this free gift of salvation.

• The Lord Jesus suffered cruel treatment and gave up His life willingly so that all who believe on Him might not perish but be given peace with God, and have His inner peace guarding our hearts: For by His stripes we are healed.
• And the chastisement of all our peace was laid upon Him that day on Calvary's Cross.

• As a natural vine-branch should bear sweet grapes, so we who are spiritual vine-branches should bear forth the spiritual fruit that comes from our true Vine: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

• In Galatians 5, Pauls presents us with a comprehensive list of spiritual fruit; love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

• Although the benefits of intimacy with another person outweigh the disadvantages of isolation, this is a truth that is particularly pertinent in Christian circles, where we are called to live with one another in the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

• During this, yet future, amazing 'Day of the Lord', the Almighty Creator will smash the satanic kingdoms of this world and set up Jesus, the Prince of Peace, on the throne of His father, David.

• Man was made in the image and likeness of God, but that image became distorted and marred when sin reared its ugly head and man chose the path of disobedience over the pathway to peace, the highway to holiness, the road of righteousness.

• In the same way, believers in this Church age can immediately enter the promised rest we have in Christ and be kept in His perfect peace, through a living faith, humble obedience, a heart that is guided by the Spirit of God, and a life that walks in spirit and truth.
• He had promised to fight their battles, conquer cities, establish them in their land, and give them peace, if they would simply trust His Word, obey His direction, and not rely on their own understanding or do things in their own strength.

• If we doubt God's Word, disobey His instruction, behave carnally, and persistently complain, the peace of God will not reign in our hearts and fellowship with the Father will be broken.

• He had been anointed by God and was to be installed as His appointed King on Zion... on the holy mountain of the Lord.He was to set up the heavenly kingdom that had been promised for ages and generations, and He was to rule the whole earth in justice and peace.
• He was to bring in the promised time of peace and prosperity for all people.However, Israel anticipated a warrior King Who would save His people by overthrowing their Roman slave-masters.

• Our hope is in Christ alone Who is our righteousness, our peace, our hope, and our endurance.

• And God alone, in the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ, shed His lifeblood so that all who believe on His name would have peace with God, that perfect peace of God that passes all understanding.
• Christ alone has the right to be called: Prince of Peace.
• The Wonderful, Eternal, Almighty God of Peace, the second Person of the Triune Godhead, set aside His glory to take on the form of a man and be BORN into the race that He created, the Son of Man. He was GIVEN by the Father as the Son of God, a gift of grace from God to a lost world so that all who believe on His name would be saved.
• No surprise that His name shall be called: Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

• And in this chapter, Jeremiah draws a stark contrast between the false, futile gods of the Gentiles, and Israel's great God and Creator Who brought them out of the land of Egypt and set their feet on the path of peace.

• The Lord Jesus Christ has rightly been called the Prince of Peace, for Christ is the propitiation for our sins, bringing peace with God for all who believe in Him.
• And through Christ Jesus our Lord, those who have trusted in Him as Saviour may have the peace of God which transcends all human understanding guarding their heart and mind, for He has promised to keep in perfect peace those whose mind is stayed on Him.
• But there is another type of peace that was brought into the world through Christ, our perfect Prince of Peace.
• By His death and Resurrection, He has broken down the middle wall of petition that estranged Jew from Gentile, bringing godly reconciliation and uniting us together in the bond of peace and harmony: For Christ Himself is our peace, Who made both groups into one and broke down the barrier of the dividing wall.
• Christ was foreordained to be our perfect Prince of Peace before the foundation of the world.
• He would be born through the house of Israel, the family of Judah, and the line of David: And His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, the mighty God, the everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace.
• The Prince of Peace was to be the Son of the Most High God: And the Lord God will give to Him the throne of His father David.
• And by His sacrificial death and glorious Resurrection, the Lord Jesus Christ became our peace from that time forward, uniting His chosen people, Israel, with those who were once considered to be heathen, Gentile dogs.
• Through His death and Resurrection, the veil of the temple was torn from top to bottom bringing peace with God for all who believe in Him.
• The peace of God is given to all whose mind is stayed on Christ.

• I am sure that Paul had a special place in his heart for these brothers and sisters in Thessalonica who received the message of salvation with joy and peace, who believed despite the severe suffering they were undergoing, and whose exemplary faith was talked about across Greece and beyond: Brethren, beloved by God, he wrote we recognise and know that He has selected you; He has chosen you.

• The experience Thomas went through eight days later, when the disciples were again inside and Thomas with them, was written for our learning as well as for his, for even though the doors were shut, Jesus came and stood among them, and said, Peace be with you, and said to Thomas, Put your finger here, and look at my hands.

• For to be spiritually minded is life and peace, but the carnal mind continues to be at enmity against our Heavenly Father.

• The valley of the shadow of death becomes the pathway to life and peace to all Who follow the Good Shepherd Who gave his life for His sheep.

• There are no contradictions in the Word of God, and yet many believers consider this letter of James to be at odds with the teachings of the apostle Paul, for James seems to be basing salvation on works while Paul clearly says, Having be justified by faith we have peace with God.

• He obviously longed for a time when righteousness and peace would reign on earth, and loving-kindness and truth would be established in the land.
• The psalmist made it clear in his prayer that he would listen obediently to the Lord's instructions, knowing that God, in His grace, would speak peace to His people.
• The psalmist is confident that Israel will be delivered by God's grace, and that the Lord will speak peace to His elect.
• He believes that the glory of the Lord will once again dwell in their land, when lovingkindness and truth will have met together, and righteousness and peace will have kissed each other.
• He trusted the Word of the Lord and was ready to testify that the salvation of the Lord is near to those who fear Him, and that a day is coming when the earth will be filled with God's glory, their Messiah will dwell in the land He promised to Israel, mercy and truth will meet together, and righteousness and peace will kiss one another.

• Paul was praising God for saving his soul from damnation and setting his feet on the pathway to peace with God, by grace through faith in Jesus Christ and he did not want the Galatian believers to put themselves back under the Law, as these Judaisers were teaching.

• But it will continue throughout Christ's glorious Millennial kingdom, when peace and prosperity reigns and the earth is filled with the glory of God as the waters cover the sea.

• Christ is our Righteousness; and Christ is our Peace.

• Following his introductory greeting to the saints at Corinth, where the amazing grace and abundant peace of Almighty God is the heavenly blessing that Paul bestows in great measure on all the congregation there, He turns his rapt attention and deep affection upon our great God and Father in heaven: Blessed be GOD the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ; Blessed be the GOD and Father of all mercies and Blessed be our Father in heaven Who is the God of all comforts.

• Peace is one of many beautiful characteristics that are manifested as fruit of the Spirit in the life of a believer who is growing in grace and being conformed into the image and likeness of Jesus.
• Peace is one of the most precious qualities of the soul, for a peaceful spirit is very precious in the sight of God.
• An attitude of tranquillity should be part of a normal Christian life, for we receive peace with God when we are justified by faith in Christ's finished work on Calvary, and we have ongoing access to the peace of God when we remain in fellowship with Him - in purity of heart - in the unity of the spirit.
• It was the Father of peace Who sent the Prince of peace into the world to save sinners from their sin.
• It is the Spirit of peace Who reconciles man to God through faith in Jesus Christ and gives us the ministry of reconciliation.
• It was the Prince of all peace Who set aside His glory so that peace could be established on earth for men of goodwill, and for the glory of God. 
• It was the gift of peace that Christ gave to His disciples, only hours before He trudged along the road of redemption to Calvary's Cross: Peace I leave with you, were His words of comfort to His confused disciples, My peace I give to you.
• And in this verse, Paul prays for an outpouring of God's peace on all the saints in Rome: Now the God of peace be with you all.
• The peace we have with God through the forgiveness of sin is an unconditional gift for all who believe, and it remains our present possession through time and into eternity.
• Peace with God, through faith in Christ, can never be lost, or left, or stolen away, but the peace of God, which is Paul's prayer for these saints in Rome, is an inner peace that is readily available to all who walk in spirit and truth.
• The peace of God is conditional and can be lost, destroyed, or broken, when we fall into sin, engage in fleshly activities, or regress into spiritual infancy.
• Paul tells the Philippians how to keep the peace of God ruling our heart; we are to rejoice in the Lord continually; we are to let our gentle spirit be known to others; we are not to be anxious, but in everything by prayer, supplication, and thanksgiving, we are let our requests be made known to God.
• When these conditions are met, we have the assurance that the peace of God, which passes human comprehension, will guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus our Lord.
• Paul gave the Colossians similar advice: Let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body, and be ye thankful.
• We know that Paul himself had to undergo some very severe situations which had the potential to cause him great unease, and yet it is the peace of God for which he prays.
• Paul could confidently claim that when we honour God in all we say and do His peace will reign in our heart, no matter what difficulties and dangers we may be facing.
• As we analyse the conditions that keep us in fellowship with the Father and safeguard His peace in our hearts, we find it comes down to trusting God for all things, however difficult, through prayer and supplication, with a heart of thanksgiving and praise, and a life that honours our Father in heaven.
• No one but a Christian can experience the peace of God, which reminds us that Paul's letter was written to believers and not to the unsaved.
• As we live in a world that longs for peace and yet denies the Prince of peace Who alone brings unity to this troubled place, may we rejoice in God our Saviour and display a gentle spirit in all we say and do.
• May the peace of God which passes human understanding, guard our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus our Lord, and may the God of peace be with us all, amen.

• As children of God, we are called to be strong in the LORD and in the power of HIS might as we clothe ourselves in HIS righteousness and HIS peace, HIS truth and HIS grace.

• To Moses, the friend of God, He became his Banner and Sanctifier, while Gideon found Him to be his Perfect Peace which passes all understanding.
• All of us who run to Him as their Creator and Redeemer, discover Him to be our Perfect Peace, our Gracious Shepherd, and our Everlasting Righteousness.
• Let us run to Jesus, our Strong Tower, knowing that in Him alone will be found our refuge and strength, our peace and our safety.

• God responds to the heart-cry when those sudden emergencies engulf our peace, for He has promised to be with us always; to hear and answer the cries of all his children.

• Paul knew how important it is, in Christian circles, to live together in the unity of the spirit in the bond of peace so that the cause of the gospel is not discredited before an unbelieving world.

• There is no anxiety so disturbing that cannot be guarded by the perfect peace of God and no pain so deep that cannot be healed by His tender touch. 
• May we maintain a heart of grateful thanksgiving and praise for all His goodness and grace to us, and may we be anxious about nothing, but in everything through our grateful prayers and entreaties make our requests known to Him, and we will discover His peace that passes understanding, guarding our heart and mind, as we abide in Christ and He is us.

• There was no colour, no peace, and no evil.

• The increase of His government will continue forever and there will be no end to His perfect peace, which passes all understanding.
• His is the peace that is poured into the hearts of all that have trusted in the only begotten Son of God. He will rule with fairness and justice from the throne of his ancestor David for all eternity, and He will establish His kingdom and uphold it with His pure justice and His perfect righteousness.
• He will rule and reign from this time forward and forevermore: And His name will be called Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.

• From the glories of the gospel of grace flow love, joy, peace, hope, and salvation.

• David called for burnt offerings to be made and peace offerings to be presented before the Lord.

• The first thing that Paul wrote, after his characteristic greeting of grace be to you and peace, was a grateful word of thanksgiving to God, through Jesus Christ our Lord, for the faith which was being proclaimed throughout the whole world by these dearly beloved saints in Rome.

• Righteous living depends on right thinking, and God has promised to keep in perfect peace the one whose mind is stayed on Him.

• The Lord Jesus was aware of the danger they were in but He was also concerned about their peace of mind.
• The Lord could have prevented the storm and kept the disciples safe in peaceful waters, but He could not have called out His reassuring word to have courage so as to demonstrate that He is an ever-present help in need.He could have left them to rely on their own skill or encourage a self-generated, self-reliance that is independent of God, but He wanted to reinforce their faith in Him.

• Paul knew that the most effective cure for a loss of peace and a lack of joy is a mind that is focused on Christ, submissive to the leading and guidance of the Holy Spirit, and which humbly seeks to esteem others as more important than themselves.

• Every other good thing that pertains to spiritual life; eternal life, eternal love, eternal hope, eternal joy, eternal peace, eternal prosperity, and eternal grace, is also given.

• And it is the same faithful God Whose compassion never fails and Whose mercies are new every morning, Who gently whispers 'peace be still' into our stormy hearts.
• It was as David reflected on the mighty wisdom of God and the way He protected His forefathers in times gone by, that he could rejoice that God will continue to strengthen His people and to bless them with His perfect peace that passes understanding.
• The Lord knows His people, but His people must know their Lord and trust in the power of His might, by faith – so they can say in full assurance, The Lord is my strength I will not trust in my own abilities; the Lord is my strength and I will trust in Him.The Lord not only gives us His strength in time of need, but He also blesses His people with peace.
• He blesses those who believe in Him with peace - peace with God through the forgiveness of sin and the peace of God that passes all human understanding - a peace that gives rests to our soul and stills our heart.
• God, in His grace, not only removes the sin-barrier that estranges man from his Creator God, but He desires His people to rest in His love and to know His own precious peace deep within our hearts so that we may enjoy sweet fellowship with Him.The Lord has blessed us with every spiritual blessing, and all His promises to us are all 'yes' and 'amen' in Jesus Christ our Lord.
• All that we have to do is to appropriate them so that no matter how fiercely the storms of life batter our tiny boat, we have confidence in the One Who rules the tempest with His Word and causes the stormy seas to be still.No matter what life throws your way, you can have confidence in the truth of God’s Word and joyously proclaim, The Lord is my strength and He is my peace.

• Through his epistle, the apostle James is seeking to direct us in the way of wisdom and peace, together with humility, goodness, and grace, whilst he desires to warn us against foolishness and hostility, selfish ambition, and every evil thing.

• The knowledge that comes from the Lord quickens our heart, comforts our soul, informs our thoughts, and translates into joy and peace.

• As Paul prepares to bid these beloved believers at Corinth farewell for the last time, he entreats them towards godly conduct... beseeching them to live together in brotherly peace and to maintain godly harmony.
• The LORD lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace.

• He was to execute God's many promises of a kingdom on earth and to fulfil the many prophecies that spoke of peace and prosperity for God's chosen nation.

• This prompted Haggai's second prophecy, that the glory of the future Temple would surpass that of the previous one: 'The latter glory of this house will be greater than the former,' says the LORD of hosts, 'and in this place I will give peace,' declares the LORD of hosts.
• Despite their distress, Haggai was able to tell these weeping elders a most astonishing truth: The Lord of hosts declares that the latter glory of this house will be greater than the former, and in this place I will give peace.
• Not only was its glory to outstrip the former Temple, but the Lord also promised to bring peace to the Temple court and the city of Jerusalem.
• The full and final fulfilment of this magnificent prophecy is still future, for although the glory of the Lord entered the Temple when Jesus Himself visited, during His first advent, lasting peace in the holy city will only happen when the Prince of Peace returns in the clouds of glory and sets His feet on the mount of Olives, to bring in His Millennial Kingdom of peace and prosperity.
• However, a day is coming when Christ will return in power and great glory and enter the future, Millennial Temple, when the latter glory of God's house will be greater than the former, there will peace on earth, and goodwill to all men.

• The LORD lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace.'
• Aaron and the priests were the ones who had the authority to pronounce the blessing, protection, peace, and mercy on the people, because the Aaronic priesthood had been set apart, by the Lord, to act as human mediators between man and God. Aaron and his descendants were commanded to pronounce a very particular blessing over Israel - a blessing that invoked God, Himself, to graciously bless His people. The priests of the Lord were commanded by the Lord, to call on the Lord to pronounce a prayer of blessing over His people.
• God loves to bless His people and has given many precious promises of protection and peace over all who are His, and yet He felt it necessary to command Aaron, and his spiritual descendants, to petition Him for blessings on behalf of His people, which make us realise that prayers for God's blessing on others must be very important to the Lord.
• It is through the unity of the Trinity that we are presented with the many precious promises of our salvation, our sanctification, our glorification, and an eternal heritage that is kept for us in heaven. It is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, together as One Who illuminates our hearts and leads us in the way of righteousness and peace.
• And yet, by God’s grace, we have been called to be a kingdom of priests under the authority of Christ our great High Priest through whom blessings from God are being poured out to us and through us to others.May the Lord bless us all and keep us, and may He cause His face to shine upon us and be gracious unto us and give us His peace.
• The LORD lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace.

• May we pray for the peace of Jerusalem, knowing that the only true peace that will overshadow the nation in unbelief, is when they recognise Jesus as Lord and cry out to Him for their salvation.

• We should be long suffering and make allowances for the faults and failures of others and we should endeavour to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

• They believed that one day their Lord would return in like manner to take them to be with Himself and to bring in the promised age of peace and prosperity.

• Paul knew that in Christ he was given an inexplicable inner peace for God was in his heart: a peace that passes understanding as he fixed his heart and mind on Christ.
• Like Paul we need to come to a deep understanding that willing submission to suffer for Christ's sake is the singular path to real strength, true joy, and a peace that passes human comprehension: For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation and comfort also abounds through Christ.

• And on that day their Messiah, our Lord Jesus Christ, will make provision for their cleansing and the remnant of Israel will be re-gathered before a promised time of peace and prosperity floods the whole world, when the earth will be filled with the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
• It is during this wonderful future time when Christ rules and reigns as Israel's anointed King, that swords will be beaten into plowshares, and a time of global peace and prosperity will descend upon this war-torn world.

• The fruit of the Spirit is LOVE, which fragments into joy, peace, patient-endurance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control, and these will last forever and ever and into the eternal ages to come, for LOVE NEVER FAILS.

• Contentment is the product of a God-given peace that calms a troubled spirit and brings peace to a striving soul.

• He bewailed that he had no peace of mind, no quiet repose, no rest in his soul, and had to endure nothing but pain and anguish.

• No doubt, when Simeon saw Mary with the baby Jesus, his heart was stirred by the Holy Spirit so that he would take the baby into his arms and sing his memorable song of praise and thanksgiving: Now Lord, You are releasing Your bond-servant to depart in peace, according to Your Word; for my eyes have seen Your salvation, which You have prepared in the presence of all peoples - a light of revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of Your people, Israel.

• He made peace with God on our account by the offering of Himself on the Cross, and the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin.

• We are to endeavour to pursue the unity of the Spirit, in the bond of peace, and are reminded that as God's children, we have received grace according to the measure of Christ's gifts to each one of us, and are encouraged to use each spiritual gift appropriately.

• In all our ways, let us acknowledge Him, and reverence His holy name, and let us permit Him to direct our path into the way of peace.  

• Another problem is internal division which endangers the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace and love between believers.

• He was crucified on a cruel cross to make purification for the sins of the whole world so that whosoever will may come to Him for everlasting life, everlasting light, everlasting hope, everlasting peace, everlasting joy, everlasting salvation.

• It is in consideration of all that Peter has told us of the divine power and promises of God, together with shocking events that are soon to take place on earth, that believers are exhorted: Therefore, beloved brethren, since you look for these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace - spotless and blameless.
• And so, we are urged by Peter to live in peace with one another, to walk in spirit and in truth, and to share the good news of the gospel of grace with those that are dead in their sins.
• As the apostle Peter draws his final letter to a close, we should all take note of the increasing urgency of his message and remain watchful for the any day return of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. May we all be diligent to guard our hearts and minds and be found at peace in Christ.

• He is the risen, ascended King of Righteousness and He is the coming Prince of Peace.
• The chastisement of our peace was upon HIM, and with His stripes, WE are healed.
• He is the King of Peace Who is coming to smash and crush forever, the corrupt kingdoms of this world system, and restore righteousness and hope to a world that is drowning in sin.

• He came to raise up a horn of salvation in the house of His servant David, to shine on those who live in darkness and the shadow of death, and to guide our feet into the way of peace.
• For those last days before the Cross, Jesus would spend the entire day, from dawn to dusk, ministering in the temple before returning to the peace and safety of Mount Olivet.

• We are to be covered in His truth, covered in His righteousness, and rest in His peace and His salvation which is ours by grace alone through faith alone in His finished work alone.

• And David clings tight hold of His Redeemer King knowing that only in Him will he find lasting peace, for only God's righteous right hand can support the weary soul in his hour of need.

• How blessed are those that are born again in Christ in this dispensation of grace, for we are also chosen as His own inheritance - we too identify as sons of God and joint-heirs with Christ.Jesus is not only the great Sustainer of nature and the generous God of providence, but He is our peace and hope, love and joy, and He is our Comforter, Defender – our Saviour and Friend.

• Judah will celebrate the Rock of Ages and the Lord Himself will rejoice over His redeemed people, with singing. It is in the middle of chapter 26 that a remnant of the house of Judah are seen celebrating a future event, when a repentant, redeemed, and restored Israel will have been reinstated as God's righteous nation, and set apart unto Him. They rejoice in their restored faith in the God of their salvation, on Whom they depend and through Whom comes the perfect peace of God which confounds all human understanding.
• But God has promised to save those that trust in Him, and the joyful song of celebration which the remnant of Judah sang, rejoices with the words: Lord, You will establish peace for us, since You have also performed for us all our works.

• In Ephesians, Paul opens the floodgates of God's blessing on His people, with the words, Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him - in love.He has blessed us with pardon and peace, redemption and adoption, and illumination and truth from His Holy Spirit.

• God would appoint a judge to bring the nation to repentance and restoration and until the death of that judge, the people would live in peace and safety.
• When the nation revered and honoured the Lord, the land was peaceful and the crops were plentiful, but when rebellion against the Lord and unbelief filled their hearts, they had to suffer the consequences of their disobedience.

• And in this letter to the pilgrims and sojourners of Pontius, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynian, we see him faithfully carrying out his Lord's instructions as he shares the good news of the multiplied grace and peace of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

• The God of Hope - Oh what a glorious title and beautiful theme for the triune God Who, in singleness of purpose, is pledged to fill us with all joy, peace, love, and hope, when we simply trust in the pure gospel of the Son of His love.
• God is no respecter of persons and the joy and peace in believing in Christ for the forgiveness of sin and life everlasting is for Jew and Gentile alike.
• It is God, Himself, that has promised to fill us to the brim with a great abundance of spiritual blessings – for the joy of the Lord is our strength, the peace of God is our shield and buckler, and the fellowship of the saints is our precious portion, as our hope overflows in and through Him.All His promises, whether past, present, or future, are secured in His unchanging character and unchangeable Word, for He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
• Neither the ravages of the old sin nature nor the temptations of the enemy who seeks our destruction, can separate us from the love of God or remove the hope that is ours, in Christ Jesus our Lord.Paul’s dear desire for the Body of Christ is translated into the most beautiful, intercessory prayer: Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
• He longs that the people of God are filled to the fullness of Christ and continue to be filled every day of our life with His joy and His peace, as we maintain our trust in Him.
• We have the overflowing and unfathomable peace of God within and the glorious hope that is ours in Christ, because of all He is to us, all He has done for us, all He is doing for us as we journey through life, and all that He has promised to us in the days to come.

• He can choose God's way and take the path of righteousness and peace-with-God, OR he can follow the downward road of the wicked, the sinners, the scoffers, and those that rebel against the Lord.

• His kingdom will be one of righteousness and peace, love and justice, light and life.
• THEN He will return to set up the heavenly kingdom of righteousness and peace, love and justice, light and life. 

• Because of Adam's sin which caused all humanity to be infected with sin, He was to be the last Adam, the perfect Man, the federal head of God's new creation, and His name was to be called Wonderful, Counsellor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace.
• Israel had been commanded to go into all the world and preach the gospel of peace to every creature, but the nation failed to obey the Lord and did not recognise Jesus as the prophesied Son of David Who would save His people from their sins, when He finally arrived.

• Peace WITH God is our permanent possession when we believe on the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation, but the peace OF God is conditional upon a believer being in a relationship with the Lord Jesus; as we abide in Christ, trust His Word, depend on His guidance, die to self, and live for Him.
• Isaiah explained to Israel: Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee: because he trusts in Thee.
• Paul teaches the Philippian Christians: IF they are anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication make their requests known to God with a thankful heart, THEN the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
• Peace WITH God is never removed from the man or woman who has trusted in the death, burial, and Resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.
• But once we are saved by grace through faith, the inner perfect peace OF God which rules our hearts and minds is dependent on us maintaining a right relationship with God.
• Peace WITH God is the eternal birthright and unchangeable privilege of all true believers, but the peace OF God depends on the choices a Christian makes in the ups and downs of our everyday lives.
• God's peace within becomes a wonderful internal barometer of our closeness to our heavenly Father and our abiding in Christ.
• Yes, the promised peace of Christ is an accurate indicator of ones standing with the Lord and is a guide as to whether or not we are abiding in Christ and resting in His love.
• The spiritual man or woman who is walking in spirit and truth will know a peace in their heart which passes understanding, even in the midst of great trials and difficulties, while the one who is out of fellowship and walking in fleshly carnality will have inner turmoil of spirit and disease of the soul.
• It is a daily and often moment by moment choice to permit the peace of Christ to rule in our heart.
• He promised us His peace, and as long as we steadily look to Him and away from ourselves, His peace becomes an abiding reality.
• His inner peace is something to which all believers are called, both individually and corporately, and should become a reality in the lives of all who are called by His name, for each is given particular gifts and a unique ministry that is designed to give mutual encouragement to one another in our service to the Lord.
• The peace of God can too often be hindered when a heart is devoid of thanksgiving and praise.
• A grateful heart that is filled with heavenly thanks and praise to God, is a heart that is ready and prepared to have the peace of Christ stream into their inner being and flow out to others as a testimony of praise to our heavenly Father.
• May we with one accord let the peace of Christ rule in our hearts day by day and moment by moment, for it is to this that the Body of Christ has been called, and let us in all things be thankful.

• The only path to peace with God and a right standing before Him is faith in Christ.

• Through that same Lord Jesus Christ, God is going to make peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of Christ's blood on the Cross.

• They forgot His promise to protect them from their enemies, send rains in its season, provide plenteous crops, cover the trees with fruit, and grant peace in the land - IF they kept His sabbaths - IF they reverenced His Sanctuary. Because of their neglect they reaped scarcity, drought, and hunger.

• Understanding, discernment, and a knowledge of God's great power, were good requests to make, but perhaps a deeper knowledge of God Himself; His character, His ways, His work, His will, and His glory, may have been more beneficial in this young man's life, and would have produced an abundance of spiritual fruit and prevented him from straying so far from the path of peace.

• In this verse we have a peep into a heavenly vision of unapproachable Deity, enthroned on His seat of mercy and grace, granting peace, pardon, forgiveness, and confident access to all who believe on His name.

• And so Zacharias announced: Because of the tender mercy of our God, His Light from on high has visited us - to shine its light on all those who live in deep darkness and in the shadow of death, and to guide our feet into the way of peace.
• He is the reviving Light Who alone gives life and hope and peace and love.

• He lists many of the privileges that are ours in Him which include peace with God, access to the Father, His abundant grace, and the exultant hope we have in Christ.

• Were we to faithfully apply this verse in our everyday, mundane life, how quickly we would unbolt the portal to our pain and bathe our problems in His perfect peace.

• But Gideon was faithful to the Lord and during his 40-year long leadership, Israel enjoyed peace and safety.

• It is as we abide in Him and rest in His love, that the Lord endows us with His perfect peace which passes human understanding, and gives us the assurance that He is with us - even to the end of the age.

• As believers, we have already made peace with God through trusting Christ for salvation... and in order to have the peace of God permanently dwelling in our heart, we are to live our lives as God desires, which is set out in His Word.
• And so, in this first epistle from Peter, we are offered some practical principles for a peaceful and fruitful life - even in the midst of great trials and tribulations.

• The good news of peace with God and an eternal relationship with Him has come by faith in Christ's shed blood for the redemption of the body and the forgiveness of sins.

• Just as we are reminded: There is a time to love, and a time to hate; a time for war, and a time for peace, we also have to be aware that there may be a time to plead for God to avenge us of a terrible wrong.

• He wrote of our wonderful redemption, our heavenly inheritance, the indwelling Holy Spirit, and the peace of God we have received through His sacrificial blood.

• The good tidings of great joy that ignite faith in the man or woman who is dead in their sins and at enmity with their Creator, is peace with God and reconciliation with our Heavenly Father.
• Throughout the centuries, this call to peace with God had been proclaimed by prophets of God to the nation of Israel, but their heart was waxed gross, their ears were dull of hearing, and their eyes were blinded to the truth of the glorious gospel of peace: peace with God through the shed blood of their prophesied Messiah.
• The message of peace with God through our Saviour, Jesus Christ, is the gospel of grace that continues to be proclaimed today to the fallen race of man, but faith in Him comes by hearing this message of reconciliation.
• How beautiful are the feet of those who are shod with this gospel of peace and who bring the good tidings of great joy to a lost and dying world who need to hear of salvation by grace through faith in Christ.
• This glorious gospel is simply profound and profoundly simple: Christ died for You, He was buried, and He rose again to bring peace with God to a lost and dying world.
• May our feet be shod with the good news of peace with God, knowing that all who hear this proclamation and respond in faith to its call will be forgiven of their sins, made one with Christ, be clothed in His righteousness, and receive everlasting life by faith which comes by hearing, and hearing through the truth that comes through Christ, the living Word of God.

• We are to make allowances for each other's short-comings and are encouraged to be diligent to maintain the unity of the Spirit, in the beautiful bond of His heavenly peace.

• The One Who came to save them would be sent as a Lamb to the slaughter and would stand dumb before His accusers, but despite this necessary chastening, these comforting words promised that God's people would one day enjoy pardon and peace, deliverance and prosperity, revival and restoration, and a glorious future hope.

• Isaiah 11 describes the glories of this kingdom of peace and prosperity, but first His people, Israel, must turn from their apostate ways.
• Zacharias prophesied that Jesus, the son of Mary, was God's promised Dayspring from on High, the Prophet of Whom Moses spoke, Who would come to rescue His people from the hand of their enemies: And guide our feet into the way of peace.
• However, to achieve the peace OF God that we all desire so deeply, sinful man must first have peace WITH God, through faith in Jesus Christ.
• Christ's message was indeed a message of peace as proclaimed by the angels and as can be seen in teachings like the Sermon on the Mount.
• Although Christ is Prince of Peace and will one day reign on earth as King of kings and Lord of lords, He knew that His message of salvation would cause tremendous division, even splitting asunder precious family relationships, because the message of the Cross is diametrically opposed to the old sin nature of man: Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword, was His astonishing admission.
• Even though as believers, our first instinct may be to strive for peace through worldly methods, we are not to compromise the truth of God's Word or bow to ungodly agendas that discredit God's Word.
• True peace can only be found in a relationship with Jesus.
• Through Him, we can have true and lasting peace, no matter what storms may come our way.

• Christ's high priestly prayer for us is that we may all be one; that we may be united together in the bond of peace through the Word of truth: That they may be one, even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me.

• But in his vision of the future, John witnessed the opening moments of the coming Day of the Lord, which will start with 7 terrible years of tribulation and will conclude with 1000 years of peace and prosperity, when the earth will be filled with the glory of God and Christ Jesus will rule as King of kings and Lord of lords.

• May this verse encourage us all to remember that it is only through God's grace that we are given the freedom to live in righteousness, and may we be filled with peace and joy as we accept this gift of grace that God offers us.

• While all our sins, past, present, and future, were forgiven the moment we trusted Christ for salvation, we need to confess any post-salvation sin to our Heavenly Father in order to be returned into fellowship with Him - for sin is the cause of broken fellowship.God is love and peace and hope and joy – and God is purest light.

• Let us consider the God-Man, the second Adam, the Sacrifice for sin, the Prince of Peace - the incarnate God.

• And to Gideon, He was 'Yahweh-Shalom' - the Lord is my peace.

• THEY will not be expecting it and will be calling for 'Peace and Safety' or enjoying a bogus type of security - but destruction will suddenly come upon them and they will not escape, for it has been prophesied that God's wrath will finally be poured out on this Christ-rejecting, sin-infected world.
• Let us live in peace with each other, admonish the unruly, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with everyone - and may we never repay evil with evil but let us always seek after that which is good.

• Despite being incarcerated in a Roman prison, Paul penned this epistle to the Philippians... demonstrating a holy joy in the Lord and mandating the need for Christians to hold fast to the faith and to keep the unity of the Spirit - in the bond of peace.
• Praise God, that His grace was not only sufficient for Paul and Timothy - but His grace continues to be sufficient for you and for me and for all who are seeking to live godly in Christ Jesus... as we seek to walk in Spirit and truth and live with one another in the bond of peace.

• Right in the centre of Jeremiah, is a passage which prophesies of peace, prosperity, comfort, and hope for the kingdoms of Israel and Judah.

• He was the Prince of Peace Who would sit on the kingly throne of David - not because of David's greatness, but for the sake of God's holy name and according to God's gracious heart.

• Gifts must flow from the fruit of the Spirit, which is rooted in LOVE and which overspills into joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faithfulness, meekness, and self-control.

• How needful to train up a child in the wonderful truth of the Word of God, and show them the path to peace and wisdom, for when they are old they will not depart from it.

• The Bible teaches that, the fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise both wisdom and instruction, and those who hearken to wisdom shall dwell securely and in confident trust, and elsewhere we read that those who bind wisdom around their hearts, shall be peaceful... and without fear or dread of evil.

• What a joy it must have been for that godly man to see the consolation of Israel and take the baby Jesus in his arms, bless the Lord and pray: Lord, now lettest Thou Thy servant depart in peace, according to Thy Word, for mine eyes have seen Thy salvation, which thou hast prepared before the face of all people. A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of Thy people Israel.

• He is God's anointed King and great High Priest Who was sent according to the order of Melchizedek (King of Peace and High Priest of the Lord).

• Each feast reminded them of a significant part of their national heritage and yet each feast also pointed forward to a wonderful future fulfilment when the promised Messiah would come to right all wrongs and set up His earthly kingdom of peace and prosperity, as promised to Israel in the Old Testament Scriptures.

• Paul's extended letter of correction is brought to a close with a catalogue of godly rules and instruction on how to live the Christian life in spirit and in truth, and how to avoid being deceived by Judaisers and other unscrupulous men in the future: Those who will walk by this rule, peace and mercy be upon them, he prayed.
• Paul invoked the blessing of peace and mercy on those who put his biblical instructions into practice: Peace and mercy be upon them, he said, and then added, and also peace and mercy be upon the Israel of God.
• Why would Paul add and also peace and mercy be upon the Israel of God, if he were addressing ONE group of Galatians Christians?
• And Paul proclaims peace and mercy upon those who will walk by his instructions, and ALSO upon the Israel of God. (ALSO upon true Israelites who are Jews who have trusted Christ as Saviour).

• Humility contributes to fellowship where peace and graciousness prevails, while pride is a destructive attitude that can disrupt the communion of believers and fosters a discourteous attitude, causing division among brethren.

• Paul was confident that his reassurances would calm their hearts, still their concerns, and bring peace to their souls, and so he encouraged them to pray for him and for the rest of his ministry team constructively, before reassuring them, We have confidence in the Lord concerning you, that you are doing, and will continue to do what we command.

• Some sacrifices were voluntary, like the Burnt Offering, the Grain or Drink Offering, and the Peace Offering, which are collectively called 'Wave Offerings' and are a 'sweet savour before the Lord'.

• Then, Jesus will return to earth as King of kings in power and great glory to sit on the throne of His father, David, set up His Millennial Kingdom on earth, and rule the nations with righteousness, justice, and peace.

• But when our thoughts fly to the stability and grace of our Father in heaven; when we meditate upon His faithfulness, contemplate His wonderful grace, and reflect upon His Word of truth, we discover that our heart is resting on the sure foundation of peace and hope.We can keep our thoughts secret from other men, for no one can truly know the inner reflections of our mind, but the Lord looks on the heart and the Lord knows the thoughts that pass through our minds, both good and evil.

• We rejoice to know that the mind-set of those walking in spirit and truth is life and peace, through the power of the indwelling Spirit, and that by His grace we have been made alive, through Christ Jesus our Lord. 

• Israel will become the head of the nations and not the tail, and Judah will enjoy deliverance and salvation because Jesus, the 'Branch of Righteousness', their righteous Messiah and King of kings, will sit on David's throne in the holy city of Jerusalem and rule the entire world in righteousness and peace.
• Jeremiah saw through the telescope of time to that future time of peace and prosperity when Judah and all believing Israel will be saved, the Holy City will dwell in safety, the wolf will lie down with the lamb, and the disunited and apostate kingdoms of Israel and Judah will repent of their apostasy and be restored into a united, God-fearing nation.
• And Jesus, the personification of righteousness and Messiah of Israel, will sit on the throne of His father David, ruling the world with justice and peace.

• When we live by faith and keep Him at the centre of our lives, His peace will flood our heart.

• Indeed, Jesus Himself said, these things I have spoken unto you, that in Me, ye might have peace.

• He has promised to forgive their sins and to usher in a time of peace, prosperity, justice, and righteousness - when the wolf will lie down with the lamb and a little child shall lead them.
• But Jesus is the King of Righteousness... and the work of righteousness which He carried out on the Cross of Calvary, brings peace with God to all who believe in His name.
• And in His grace, He pours the precious peace of God into the hearts of all His children who walk in spirit and truth.
• May we, the Body of Christ, rest in His peace in this hostile, violent world, and look up and lift up our heads as our redemption draws nigh when Jesus comes in the clouds to Rapture His Bride and take us into heaven to be with Him.

• That rescuer would lead them into the path of peace – for a time – until the next cycle of sinful disobedience began.
• He is our breastplate of righteousness and our Prince of Peace.

• This second letter to Timothy, was the last of Paul's epistles to be written... and as he penned the words, grace, mercy and peace from God the Father, and Christ Jesus our Lord, I am sure that Paul's heart was filled with a mixture of joy and concern for this young man to whom the gospel of the grace of God was to be entrusted, after his death.
• And so he added the word mercy to his usual greeting of grace and peace writing, To Timothy, my beloved son: Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.
• It has been suggested that God's grace is needed for every service and His mercy is necessary for every failure, while the peace of God is a requirement for every single circumstance of life.
• The example of Paul's heart-felt concern and his prayer for grace, mercy, and peace over the life of Timothy, is an example to each one of us as we lift up our brothers and sisters in Christ to the Lord - in these increasingly evil days when the devil, as a roaring lion, continues to prowl about - seeking whom he may devour.
• May God pour out His grace, mercy, and peace on all His children, until the day of Christ Jesus our Lord, and may we all follow the example of Paul in his ceaseless prayer-life, for all who have been saved by grace through faith in Christ.

• He knew that the One Who was to come, would bring comfort and peace to the weary, war-torn nation of Israel who, for so many centuries, had been dominated by a succession of Gentile governments and who, for so long, had fallen into careless apostasy, a false religiosity, and unrepentant sin.
• He was ready to depart in peace and sleep in the dust of the ground until the righteous dead will be awakened to everlasting life.
• Lord, now lettest Thou Thy servant depart in peace, according to Thy word: For mine eyes have seen Thy salvation, which Thou hast prepared before the face of all people. A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of Thy people Israel.

• The men were curious to know about the end of the age, when Christ would bring in the promised time of peace and prosperity and set up His Messianic kingdom.

• But we must never forget that Israel is the nation to whom Isaiah is speaking specifically, and although there is much that we can apply to our own lives and Christian walk, it was Israel who was given the command to sing forth the greatness of God to the surrounding nations. Israel was given the command to tell all people groups, who were dead in trespasses and sins, of God’s gracious character and His redeeming love.It was Israel that was called to proclaim to all people that their promised Messiah of Israel was the coming King of kings and Prince of Peace – and to Israel was given the responsibility of being a light to lighten the Gentile nations.

• He alone is the One Who is able to still our troubled thoughts and bring peace into our anxious minds.
• May we come to a deeper awareness of the beautiful attributes of our glorious God, for He is the only source of grace and truth, mercy and love, peace and hope, salvation for the soul, and life eternal. 

• How we should read, mark, learn, and inwardly digest the Word of God, for it is life and health, it is peace and light, it is joy and hope.

• Jesus instructed many people: Go in peace, your faith has made you whole, and told others: According to your faith be it unto you.

• And so we read in this verse: I will diligently endeavour to make sure that even after my death and departure from this world, that you will bring to mind everything that I had taught you. Peter earnestly wanted grace and peace to be multiplied in the lives of the sheep and lambs under His care.

• We are permanently forgiven at salvation and clothed in Christ's eternal righteousness, which gives us eternal peace with God.
• But we live in a fallen world and need the ongoing peace of God to govern our hearts.

• However, Paul structures his argument to show that even though Israel was given incredible privileges, including circumcision as a special sign between them, and even though they were given the Scriptures, the promise of the Messiah, and the promise of an earthly kingdom which is filled with peace and prosperity, they had all turned away from the Lord and together they had become useless.
• Destruction and misery are in their paths, and the path of peace they have not known.

• But although we are called to put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, and long-suffering, where gracious consideration and genuine forgiveness of others are identified as vital qualities of the believer, it is love ruling the heart and peace protecting the soul that is given the main emphasis here: But above ALL, put on love which binds these things together the unity of the Spirit, and let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful.
• And the inflow of God's love into the life of a spiritual believer is transferred into an outflow of that love to others in a bond of unity and peace, and such is manifested in life who is walking in spirit and truth.

• Our home and happiness come under threat, our comfort and character are the target of their fierce arrows, our family and friends, our safety and security, and even our work and witness for the Lord seems to be the only target at which they are aiming their cruel condemnation and fiery darts of contempt and censure - and as a result our peace and contentment is shredded into distress and confusion.

• The more the love of God is allowed to permeate our heart and soul, the greater will be our confidence in the day of trouble, and any fear of judgement or punishment will be eliminated, for as John reminds us: There is no fear in love, for perfect love casts our fear. Fear is manifested through the threat of punishment and judgement, but we who have God's love within are being perfected in love and can live in His victorious peace, day by day.

• On that day and at that time Jesus, the righteous Branch of David, will set His feet on the Mount of Olives and establish His kingdom of justice, righteousness, and peace on earth, for men of goodwill.

• From the dawn of mankind, there is probably nothing more sought after in this world at war, than peace.
• Nations have fought bitter wars for the sake of peace and lives have been lost in a vain pursuit after peace.
• But the peace that is offered by this world's system, is a false, fragile, imperfect, pseudo-peace, that leaves in its wake a hungry heart and a disappointed soul.
• The God of Peace started to unveil Himself as, The Lord our Peace, to the frightened Gideon, and He expanded man's understanding of peace to David the shepherd-king, who discovered Him to be the One Who gently leads us beside still and peaceful waters.
• And God's promise through Isaiah has encouraged the hearts of countless generations of believers, Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee, because he trusts in Thee.
• It was the shed blood of the holy Lamb of God, that great Shepherd of the sheep, Who was sent into the world by the Father, so that fallen man could have peace with God.
• God purposed that through the intervention of the Son, all things should be completely reconciled back to Himself, and so He sent Jesus to bring about peace with men, who were dead in their trespasses and sins.
• He tore the curtain of separation from top to bottom, so that we, who believe on Him, may be comforted by our great God of peace.
• And in the fullness of time, God sent the Prince of Peace to be born of a virgin in the little town of Bethlehem, as the sacrifice for the sin of mankind.
• He came in dishonour and shame, so that at the appointed time He would be exalted as the Lord of Peace and crowned as the King of Peace, for He is the God of peace and the wellspring of peace.
• Now may the Lord of peace Himself continually grant you peace in every circumstance, was Paul's prayer and blessing for the Thessalonian believers, as he prepared to draw his letter to a close, May the Lord be with you all!
• Like Christians today, the believers at Thessalonica were living in tough, and turbulent times, and the apostle knew that the church needed the Author of peace to guide His people, sustain their spirits, and grant His perfect peace from above.
• It was the Prince of Peace Himself that promised to leave His own perfect peace with His confused disciples.
• Peace I leave with you, were the reassuring words He spoke to them, as the shadow of the cross loomed closer.
• My peace I give to you.
• Not the peace the world gives do I give to you.
• Do not let your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.  And this same assurance is given to all God's children who are seeking to serve the Lord of Peace, as we live in a world at war and a world without hope.
• Christ gave His disciples His own precious promise of peace.
• But His peace is not the war-torn peace of this world, but inner peace, a perfect peace - a peace that is beyond our understanding.
• Jesus promised to give us the peace of God to guard our hearts - a peace that brings comfort and rest, refreshment, and hope - a perfect inner peace that transcends humanity's comprehension - both now and forevermore.
• Now, may the Lord of peace Himself give YOU peace at all times, and in all ways.
• May the peace of the Lord be with us all, now and forever, and may the perfect peace of God rule in our hearts, in the unity of the Spirit.

• We are to take courage and find peace in these words.

• Let us seek to read, mark, learn, and inwardly digest the truth of God's Word and align ourselves with lovers of truth who are submitted to the Spirit of truth and Who binds us together in a bond of peace and love.

• His punishment of sin is just and righteous altogether, and there is a wonderful purpose in His retribution; the restoration of His nation Israel, the resurrection of myriad of His saints, and the 1000-year reign of His appointed Messiah when: Righteousness and peace will kiss one another, and the earth will be filled with the glory of God.

• In Genesis, it is called 'Salem' the 'city of peace' where Melchizedek ruled and reigned.
• Yes, Jerusalem and its inhabitants are close to the heart of God, and we read in verses 5-6 that the Lord Himself will establish the inhabitants of Jerusalem and those that live within her walls, when Jesus returns as the King of Peace and Righteousness to set up His Millennial Kingdom.

• Don't forget that He is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, and all His ways are just, and all His paths are peace if we would but trust Him.

• In his first letter to the Corinthians, when worshippers were abusing the gifts of the Spirit, Paul made a clear statement: All things must be done decently and in an orderly fashion, for God is not the Author of confusion, but the Architect of peace.

• We are to seek after the way of righteousness, peace, truth, and love, in the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit, and to cast all our cares upon Him.

• He is the Spirit of peace and the Spirit of life.
• The early Christians had to learn to listen to the leading of the indwelling Holy Spirit, for when His gentle voice is heeded, He brings comfort, inner calm, and a peace that passes our human understanding.
• However, as they began to widen their evangelism to include those in Samaria and beyond, they were comforted of the Holy Spirit, and enjoyed a period of stability and calm as the gospel was taught throughout Judea and Galilee and Samaria: So the Church throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria enjoyed peace, being built up and going on in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, the Church continued to increase.
• When the Church began to realise that the saving message of the gospel of grace was not only for Jews, Jewish proselytes, and men of Israel living in different parts of the world, but was also to be be given to the Samaritans in Samaria and Gentiles in the uttermost parts of the earth, there followed a time of peace in the land.

• Jesus is the Prince of Peace Who is today sitting on the right hand of the Father, awaiting the day when He will return to take up His place as King of kings and Lord of lords (at the end of the Great Tribulation period). 

• However, the fruit of the Spirit is evidenced in the wisdom that comes from above, where purity and peace join together in perfect union, and where meekness and mercy embrace one another.

• While David was a young herdsman who discovered that Lord was his own, personal Shepherd, Who provided for his every need, gave him peace in his heart and sustained his soul, he grew up to be a man who loved the Lord.
• And He continues to lead each one of us into the way of everlasting grace and peace, righteousness, and love.
• But He also finds us and restores us from the error of our foolish wanderings and then gently guides us back into the path of peace, where He establishes our way and leads us along the proper path, for He knows the way that we should take... and after He has tested and tried us, for a little time, we shall come forth as gold.
• Like many wonderful promises throughout Scripture, these beautiful words, which have comforted countless millions of believers, assure us that restoration, guidance, protection, and peace is His promise of love to us all, for HE restores our soul and HE leads all His children in the way of goodness and peace.

• The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, and goodness.

• Salvation of the soul through the forgiveness of sin had to precede Christ's kingdom rule of peace and prosperity.

• We are exhorted, as children of God who are born-again in Christ, towards purity of heart, the pursuit of peace, compassion, mercy, and godly living... and yet this epistle is written during a time of severe suffering and increasingly intense Christian persecution.
• May we who have received the over-abounding mercy and grace of God in our lives, demonstrate a Christ-like character in our daily living - through purity of heart, the pursuit of peace, the compassion of Christ, the mercy of God, and a life that is walking in spirit and truth... even during these increasingly difficult days of severe suffering and increasingly intense Christian persecution.

• After the Millennium, when there has been 1000 years of peace and prosperity and Jesus has ruled with a rod of iron, will be the Great White Thone of Judgement: And I saw a Great White Throne...........And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the Book of Life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

• Their enemies will be destroyed, God will pour out His blessings on His people, and their promised Messiah will come in the clouds of glory to establish His heavenly kingdom of peace and prosperity on earth.
• It will come as a thief in the night when everyone is calling 'peace and safety'.
• Jesus Himself will finally bring in the promised period of peace on earth.

• Father and Son worked together in perfect harmony, in the unity of the Spirit, in the body of peace.

• Disciples are those that are enabled, by the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit, to produce spiritual fruit like love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. This fruit is only produced through a life of obedience, a life that abides in Christ, a life where Christ is permitted to abide in us.

• A child was to be born of a virgin, for God was to give His only begotten Son: And the government would be upon His shoulder, and His name would be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

• Jesus Himself had promised His chosen apostles that when the Son of Man sits on His glorious throne in the kingdom of God, they too would be seated on 12 thrones judging the 12 tribes of Israel, while prophets like Isaiah, Ezekiel, Joel, and Zechariah linked this promised, earthly kingdom of peace and prosperity with a supernatural outpouring of the Holy Spirit.

• A girded mind is one that is flooded with the peace of God in the face of persecution, and a heart that is not influenced by the taunts and treatment of ungodly men.

• The peace we have WITH God through faith in Christ; the blessed hope we have in Jesus, when He comes to take us to be with Himself at the rapture; and the incomprehensible peace OF God that governs our hearts, when our minds are focussed on Him, will be unavailable to those who enter the great and terrible Day-of-the-Lord.

• When the roles and responsibilities within a church are correctly implemented and function biblically, the quiet, submissive spirit of godly women is seen to complement the leadership role of the men and helps to unite the Body of Christ in the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

• We are called to trust His Word in all things, for His Word is life and health and peace and hope, for He alone has the words of eternal life.

• It is used by those that grieve over their sin and find the weight of their own guilt has impacted their relationship with God and frustrated their inner peace and joy.
• For some time, David had tried to ignore his faults, but discovered that unconfessed sin becomes a grievous barrier that destroys our inner peace and blocks our communion with the Lord.

• Maybe these men understood that here was the One Who would supply all they needed according to the riches of God's amazing grace, and Who would shine the light of the knowledge of God into their hungry hearts, guide their feet into the way of eternal peace, and open their eyes to see the truth of the knowledge of God: So Jesus had compassion on them and touched the eyes of His two countrymen, and restored their sight.

• It was designed to be a time of spiritual refreshment and a sign-post to a future day of rest, when God would wipe away all tears from their eyes and set up His earthly kingdom of peace and prosperity, where every man would sit under his own vine.

• Malachi was the one who foretold that Elijah the great prophet of Israel would come again, before the great and terrible Day of the Lord, which must start with 7 years of terrible judgement, but will continue for a further thousand years of peace and prosperity.

• This would open the way for the prophesied 'times of refreshing' when the Messiah would put down His enemies and set up His eternal kingdom of peace and prosperity.

• The 70th week will begin when the satanically inspired man, who is going to desecrate the temple, makes a peace treaty with Israel.
• This man-of-sin will be identified when he, confirms a covenant of peace. People will hail him as the Messiah, and he will deceive many.

• Both the extended greetings at the beginning of Paul's many epistles and the lengthy farewells at the end, give us a wealth of information on God plans and purposes for His Church and teach us much on living the Christian life, in the unity of the Spirit, in the bond of peace.
• He urges certain elders in the congregation to help these women and others in the Christian community to live in peace and harmony with each other.
• He encourages all believers to live in peace with one another and to give encouragement and help to all who are members of the Body of Christ, because he himself knows that the joy of the Lord is our strength, Paul calls on his brothers and sisters in Christ to rejoice in the Lord and to keep on rejoicing together in harmony of heart.
• Both joy in the Lord and gentleness of heart are attitudes that should permeate the soul and spirit of the righteous, for we are called upon to: Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God, knowing that when we do so: The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus, in a deepening knowledge of Jesus Christ, our gentle God and gracious Saviour.

• Those who rejected God's offer of salvation will be calling for 'Peace and safety!' But destruction will come upon them suddenly, like labour pains on a woman about to give birth, and they will not escape.

• Oh, what peace we often forfeit and needless pain we bear when we leave God out of the equation and try to address the issues of life by ourselves instead of depending entirely on the promises of God.

• And if sin was not punished, then God's promised Messianic kingdom of peace and prosperity could never begin. 

• His reward was the Lord Himself, and David's heart-desire was that the pure light of God's radiant countenance would fall upon him so that in peace he would both lie down in safety and sleep securely.
• Do we, like David, lie down in peace and sleep secure in the knowledge that He is in control?

• Christ's sacrificial death at Calvary is the greatest demonstration of the love of God for mankind, for God demonstrated His deep love towards us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us. The Son of God was made sin for us and the great design of the gospel of grace is full and free reconciliation; unconditional peace with God.
• God in His grace stretched out His arm of peace to the fallen race of man, through the gift of His only begotten Son so that He could be our Kinsman-Redeemer.

• Their lack of faith and foolish choices caused them to feel the sting of God's chastening fist, but He is long-suffering and kind, merciful, and of great goodness, and His providential hand was always there to protect and guide them back into the way of peace. 

• While Israel had to be punished for breaking their covenant with the Lord, His chastening rod will not last forever, and this final chapter ends with some of the most beautiful descriptions of God's grace toward His people and their eventual return the holy city of Jerusalem: For thus says the Lord, 'Behold, I extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the nations like an overflowing stream; and you will be nursed, you will be carried on the hip and fondled on the knees.
• The promise of peace and prosperity is given to His chosen people, and verse 13 paints a most compassionate portrait of God giving comfort to His people in the same way that a mother would console and comfort her son - not only her nursing baby but also her dearly beloved grown-up son.
• When Israel's Messiah returns in power and great glory, the peace of Jerusalem will be established and God will comfort His wayward people and dry every tear from their eye.
• We who know the Lord as our God and Saviour are truly blessed because we not only have peace WITH God at the point of our salvation but was ah access to the peace OF God as we walk in spirit and truth.
• And a day is coming when every prophecy, as yet unfulfilled, will come to completion and Israel will be comforted in their homeland by Jesus, their Prince of Peace and promised King.

• We have been given peace with God by our Lord Jesus Christ and are no longer estranged from Him through sin... for we have been redeemed with a price... the precious blood of Jesus Christ.

• And as the attributes of the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob continued to be revealed to His chosen people, as the years rolled by, so each of God's revealed characteristics, was one more beautiful picture of the coming Messiah - the Mighty God and Prince of Peace, Who would also be the one Who would heal His people Israel, the nation whom Isaiah described as being sick, 'from the crown of their head to the sole of their foot'.

• He prays that God will graciously give them a fruitful land and that they will be nourished and provided for as in times past, when they flourished in peace and lived in prosperity in the lands of Bashan and in Gilead.

• His promises will never fail, for His Word cannot be broken, and Zechariah prophesied of the glorious salvation of a remnant of Israel and the future peace and prosperity they will enjoy in the City of God, when Jesus is King of Israel and Governor over the whole earth. Nevertheless, because of their sin, the Lord was angry with those that disobeyed Him.

• So often, in the Word of God, the believer is expected to be clothed in righteousness, strength and humility, shod with the gospel of peace, and covered with a garment of gracious praise, and each virtue that is manifested in the life of a believer is simply the reflected glory of Christ's own perfect righteousness and His gracious humility.

• We are told, in Hebrews, that the Holy Spirit's chastening will produce a crop of peace and righteousness in the lives of all who are willing to be trained by it. 
• However, the end result produces a rich harvest of righteousness, peace, thanksgiving, and praise - for those who are prepared to learn from it.

• We are instructed to preach or proclaim the truth of Scripture, for the Word is life and light, it is hope and it is peace, for we preach Christ crucified.

• It is the call of the indwelling Spirit in the bosom of His Bride, to return to this world and bring in that promised period of peace and prosperity, when Christ will reign as King of kings and Lord of lords - and all who were thirsty have drunk deeply of His living water.

• She was no doubt intrigued to read in his prophetic writings that His name would be called Wonderful; Councillor; the Mighty God; the Everlasting Father; the Prince of Peace.

• We are to live in peace with one another and are to counsel others against falling into worldly ways and careless living.

• He speaks of that promised time when peace and prosperity will finally be instituted - and Jesus will rule the nations with a rod of iron.

• He is not only the Provider of all our physical needs, but He is the Fountain of peace and pardon, the Well-spring of grace and strength, and His never-failing streams of salvation and security are ever flowing into the empty cup of the weary pilgrim.

• They are the ones who will live on the earth during this promised time of prosperity and peace.

• Jesus prayed for unity in His Body while Paul told us: Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.

• A white horse generally signifies, peace, purity, and righteousness, but this rider will come impersonating Christ, the true Prince of Peace, Who also rides a white horse.
• The rider John sees astride a white horse, is a satanic deceiver who gives the appearance of being a man of peace, when in reality, he is the prophesied man of lawlessness, whom Paul describes as the son of perdition - the son of Satan, who will deceive, and maim, and kill a multitude of men without number.
• This is done to lull an unsuspecting world into a false sense of peace and security.
• The rider on the white horse is a trickster, giving the appearance of a man of peace who is going to usher in world safety and prosperity for all.
• The mission of this satanic tyrant is not to bring peace to a weary, war-torn world but to kill and to maim, and to set his throne above God. 

• Paul's gospel was the gospel of peace-with-God through salvation and the peace-of-God residing within the believer.

• The gospel of God's grace was made known to the Gentiles through the grace and apostleship that Paul himself received, and it was through his ministry that this good news of the grace of God and peace with Him has continued to be poured out upon all people on earth, during this Church dispensation.

• They knew that God had promised the earthly seed of Abraham a glorious kingdom on earth where Israel would be settled in their own land in peace and safety.

• Only through the Man, Christ Jesus, can men receive Peace with God and the Peace of God.
• Christ Jesus is that LIGHT that has been shining from eternity past, and it is only through Him that God's light, and life, and love, and hope, and joy, and peace will flow, for God has decreed that Christ is all in all.

• They deceive the heart of young, inexperienced believers, who love the Lord, by weaving error in with the truth, and they disrupt the unity of the spirit and the bond of peace, within the Body of Christ.
• He assured  them that if they remain obedient to the pure gospel of Christ, then the God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet.
• In the beginning, it was Satan who caused man to sin and the God who brings peace, pronounced that the Seed of the woman would crush the head of that old serpent - who is called the devil and Satan.

• We have the indwelling Holy Spirit of knowledge and understanding Who has promised to guide us into all truth and pour into our hearts the peace that passes understanding.
• Jesus reminded us: Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you.

• The rebellious and complaining nation needed to be reminded of WHO God is and that their God was the all-powerful Creator, the generous Provider, their strong Tower, their Shepherd, their Peace, and their Defender - their ever-present help in time of trouble.

• But he also had the title 'king of Peace' for we read: Melchizedek was the king of Salem. 
• But this incident with the intriguing individual called Melchizedek, king of Righteousness, king of Peace, king of Jerusalem, and priest of the most High God, no doubt heightened Abraham's faith in the Lord and strengthened his resolve to fight the good fight of faith.

• He alone has the authority to state: I am the Alpha and Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End, for He is King of kings, Lord of lords, God of gods, and our Heavenly Prince of Peace.

• Melchizedek was king of Righteousness and king of Peace, and he was also priest of God Most High.
• Melchizedek is a most beautiful symbol of the Lord Jesus Christ Who is the true King of Righteousness, the only King of Peace, and Great High Priest of the Most High God.

• I wonder if David considered the dove as a symbol of peace, as he reflected on the Spirit of God, Who brooded over the dark waters, in the beginning, and brought order out of chaos... as God spoke the world into being and sustained His creation by the might of His power.

• Now flee from youthful lusts, was Paul's serious warning to Timothy, and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, with those who call on the Lord, from a pure heart.
• Only those that eschew evil and seek after good are the ones that have an inner, supernatural peace that flows from God, and enjoy peace with those that call on the Lord with a pure heart.
• Let us earnestly pursue righteousness, faith, and love, and live in peace with those that call on the Lord with a pure heart - for the honour of His holy name, and for our own eternal benefit.

• Paul calls us repeatedly to rejoice in the Lord, and does not grow tired of encouraging us to rejoice and to keep on rejoicing in Him, for he knows that there is a thief that will rob us of the peace of God, the joy of our salvation, and the eternal hope we have in our heavenly promises.

• Melchizedek was not only named king of righteousness and king of peace, but he was also priest of God Most High.
• As we trace the various references of this fascinating king-priest through the pages of Scripture, we discover him to be an intriguing individual and a beautiful type of the Lord Jesus Christ, our King of Righteousness, our Prince of Peace, and God's Great High Priest of heaven and earth.

• Humility, grace, peace, and love are the precious spiritual fruit that should be evident in the life of all God's children who have gained wisdom and been given godly understanding.

• While Jesus still is the God of love and grace and will eventually return to Jerusalem as Prince of Peace and King of kings, He is also the God of justice and righteousness.

• Their feet are swift to shed blood and destruction and misery are in their paths - and the path of peace they have not known.

• God made peace with us when we were born from above, and gave us His inner, perfect peace within, a peace which passes all understanding.
• And yet, Peter prays that the grace and peace of our God and Saviour Jesus Christ be multiplied in our lives and magnified in our hearts.
• God has given us everything we need for living a godly life: Pressed down, shaken together, and running over, and yet Peter's desire for all God's children is that His grace and His peace be multiplied to us all.
• Here at the start of his second epistle, we discover this wise, old, fisher-of-men, desiring an overabundance of God's undeserved grace and peace to be our portion.
• We are not worthy to gather up the crumbs under His table and yet He is the God of all grace, abundant grace, multiplied grace, and He is the Father of all mercies, comfort, and peace.
• May God's abundant grace and incomprehensible peace continue to be multiplied towards all His children as we seek to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk in humble submission before Him all the days of our life, in love.

• In Christ, we have become partakers of a heavenly calling and are to be diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace, for He has given us the Holy Spirit of life and truth, and we worship One God and Father of all Who is over all and through all and in us all.

• Jeremiah prophesied of their future redemption and the coming kingdom of peace and prosperity, which will be placed under the authoritative sceptre of their promised Messiah.

• Abraham demonstrated a belief that the promises of God have an eternal perspective as, like us, he looks forward to the New Jerusalem - to the new heaven and the new earth and the eternal ages to come when the kingdom has been restored to the Father and the Man, Christ Jesus, rules and reigns in righteousness and peace.

• Jesus died for each one of His own and in His grace has given us peace with the Father.
• The peace of Jesus Christ our Lord is in our hearts.

• But when a parent is trying to impart godly discipline from a heart of love for Jesus and for their child, they will yield the peaceful fruit of righteousness: For the moment, all discipline seems not to be pleasant, but painful; yet to those who have been trained by it, afterward it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness.

• We are similarly informed that He will never allow the righteous to be shaken and to be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, we are to let our requests be made known to God, for when we trust in the Lord with all our heart, His incomprehensible peace will guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

• May we look to Jesus and be quick to keep Christ alone as the central focus of our life. May we be diligent to preserve in the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace within the church meetings and fellowships we attend, and may we be diligent to stand firm on the truth of the glorious gospel of grace for His greater praise.

• They begin with his characteristic greeting of, grace and peace to you from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

• But too often, we Christians can also find ourselves trusting in the world's answers, straying from the path of peace, and depending on our own resources.

• Just as God will apportion punishment to the unrighteous, so He will provide peace, rest, refreshment and renewal for all those who have suffered for His name's sake.

• When Paul prayed that the God of peace Himself would sanctify us completely and that our spirit, soul, and body be kept blameless until the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, he was looking forward to this glorious Jubilees of all jubilees, when Christ will rule and reign on earth, during the great Jubilee celebration (the Millennial Kingdom).

• Only as we abide in Him and remain connected to Him, can we draw from His wisdom and strength, His power and grace, His truth and holiness, His peace and His joy.

• Daniel's 70th week is triggered in heaven when the Lamb on the throne breaks the first seal, on the seven-sealed scroll, while on earth it begins when a peace covenant with Israel is confirmed by the 'man of perdition' - who is Satan's tool, and the first horseman of the Apocalypse gallops onto the world scene. 

• Having just delivered an important paragraph about the qualities of being of a peacemaker... where sowing in peace is the key to raising a harvest of righteousness, James dives headlong into a stinging treaties on the detrimental effects of fights, quarrels, lust, hate, envy, and pride, within the Body of Christ.
• The wise man is the one that pursues peace and speaks the truth in love, while the tragedy is that those who wallow in interpersonal war and chase after conflict have their roots in sin and self.

• We are to be circumspect, stable, and self-controlled in life, not allowing outward circumstances to displace our inner peace.

• Some Scriptures describe it as a terrible day of darkness when God's wrath is poured out on an unbelieving world, while other passages describe the glories of a coming kingdom of peace and prosperity, when Christ comes in power and great glory to rule the earth with a rod of iron and is crowned as King of kings and Lord of lords.
• And the passages of peace and hope, when the lion lies down with the lamb and the earth is filled with His glory, refer to the 1000 year reign of Christ, following the first 7 years.

• They were tending their flock on the Judean hillside, when they heard the amazing announcement, and saw a host of angels lighting up the night sky, uniting their voices in a wonderful celestial song of praise, glory to God in the highest and peace on earth, to men of goodwill, they sang.
• God has kept the oath which He swore to Abraham our father - that we, being rescued from the hand of our enemies, might serve Him without fear, in holiness and righteousness all our days.... The Messiah has come to give to His people the knowledge of salvation through the forgiveness of their sins, because of the tender mercy of our God - and to guide our feet into the way of peace!

• When we gain Christ, we are walking in the way of truth and life and hope and peace.

• He wanted the peace of God to flood each heart and for us to be spotless in thought, pure in word, gracious in deed, and holy in motive, knowing the time we have left is short.

• When the cares and concerns of this world are given to the Lord in humility of heart, He pours into that life His peace that passes understanding, and we discover we have a godly wisdom, an enlarged faith, supernatural love, and His sufficient grace, despite the circumstances that hem us in on every side.

• While-ever David had his eye on the enemy and the gravity of his situation, he discovered that his strength was sapped, his sleep was disturbed, his fear mounted, self-pity increased, and the peace of God which passes understanding had fled far from him.

• How different is the wisdom that comes from the Spirit of God, for it is pure and peace-loving, considerate, gentle, and submissive.
• In these increasingly violent days in which we live, let us take the words of James to heart, relying on the pure wisdom of God to lead and instruct us, enabling us to produce good fruit, being considerate, sincere, merciful, impartial, and peace-loving.
• Let us occupy until He comes, telling out the glorious truth of the gospel of salvation, with gentleness and respect to all we meet: Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.

• He no doubt recalled Paul's description of the 'Day of the Lord', when sudden destruction would come on earth as unsaved people were calling 'peace and safety', and he would no doubt reflect on the many Old Testament passages that call this great and terrible Day as the 'Time of Jacob’s Trouble' and the 'Millennial rule of Christ', when the wolf will lie down with a lamb.

• David had come to so firm a faith in the Rock of his redemption, that assaults of the enemy and even death itself did not infect his peace, and he acknowledged he was held securely in the Father's hand.
• David's knowledge and understanding of the character of God, brought him an inner peace that only comes from the Lord.
• His song of confident praise could be translated into Paul's prayer for the Thessalonians, when he wrote: Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
• As we focus our hearts and minds on the loveliness of our risen Saviour, we receive His fullness of joy, love, and His peace, not only in the world to come, but every day of our earthly life.

• This mysterious person was a type of Christ, for he was both king of peace and righteousness, and priest of the most high God.
• He was also king of Salem, which means king of peace.

• If we, as children of God, have received His goodness and grace, comfort and hope, we are to maintain the same goodness, grace, comfort, and love, and be diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the body of peace.
• Let us be diligent to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace, with all our brothers and sisters in Christ.

• Satan will be locked up during Christ's thousand years rule of peace and prosperity, and the 'Second Adam' will rule and reign in righteousness.

• Just as we have been saved by grace through faith in Christ, we have also been called into one hope of that calling and exhorted to live at peace with one another.
• It is those who mirror the Christ-like character of our Lord Jesus in their everyday living and who bear each other's burdens in godly love, that are bound together in the unity of the Spirit - in the bond of peace.
• He was certainly zealous in stressing the importance of keeping the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace - where by grace through faith in Christ, we are ONE Body and ONE Spirit... with ONE hope, ONE Lord, ONE faith, ONE baptism into the Body of Christ - and ONE God and Father, Who is above all, through all, and in us all.

• When we place our trust in Him, with unwavering, child-like confidence, He fills our heart with His own perfect peace that passes understanding.

• Never forget that somewhere in the Bible there is always a resounding, 'BUT GOD...' Never allow any fear that is being conceived in your mind to be birthed into a terror that destroys the inner peace that God gives to those that love Him.
• Our God of grace and peace in Whom we trust, has promised us all temporal, spiritual, and eternal mercies.

• We are to resist the idea that the externals of life contribute to our inner joy, godly contentment, spiritual growth, and His perfect peace in our heart.
• As God's children we are called to enjoy inner peace and not internal turmoil.
• We are to: Let the peace of God rule in our heart to which we are called.
• Abiding in Christ and resting in His inner peace is the heavenly calling for every believer, no matter what situation we may be in.

• Both men urged their readers to be diligent to grow in grace, mature in the faith, be found in Christ, and to understand that any perceived delay in Christ's return points to God's long-suffering kindness towards men, for it is not God's will that any should perish but that all come to repentance and find peace in Him.

• He is the God of comfort and the Prince of peace, Who alone can calm every pounding heart and still every fearful thought.

• Christ may be a Saviour Who is common to all believers and a God that is universal in His love for each of His own, but He does not divide His love, segment His peace, or sub-divide His grace between us.

• How blessed are we who have been saved by grace through faith in Christ, and how often we find encouragement, comfort, peace, and hope in the Psalms of David.

• A heart of peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones. - Proverbs 14:30.
• The message that this wise man sought to pass onto his sons, was that the road to righteousness, the path to peace, and the highway to a true understanding of the Lord, is hedged about with wisdom from above.

• May we take heed of the depths to which Israel fell and be diligent to be found by Him in peace.

• May each of us treasure the Light we have in our hearts and remember that no matter where we are, what we do, or however dark the path we tread, the Light of the World is not only with us but indwells our heart, and will fill our inner being with His perfect peace when our mind is stayed on Him.

• Although the Church is removed before this time of judgement, let us pray for the peace of Jerusalem, and for the salvation of many who will have to endure the Great Tribulation - for when we pray into God's will we know our prayers will be answered.

• Other passages identify it as a wonderful time of peace and prosperity when God's anointed King rules and reigns on the throne of David.
• The new covenant He made with Israel will be finally and fully ratified - and Christ will return in the clouds to the earth, to set up His 1000-year rule of peace and prosperity, when He will reign as King of the whole earth and Messiah of Israel.

• It describes the events preceding His millennial rule on earth, and speaks of universal peace and prosperity, when Israel will be regathered forever into the land God promised to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
• On that day the nation will become spiritually sensitive, and they will all dwell in security, peace, and prosperity.

• The world at large and man, in particular, has for thousands of years been on a desperate search for meaning in life – for love and health, for peace and prosperity, for youth and beauty, and for a perfect dwelling place of eternal bliss and over-abounding happiness.
• The only salvation that can bring the world in general, and sinners in particular, back into fellowship with the only source of life, light, love, and peace, is found in the one name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved – the Lord Jesus Christ.

• David had planned to build a temple for the Lord but being a man of war disqualified him and the responsibility had to be passed to his son, Solomon, who was a man of peace.

• We have the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, and the glorious gospel of peace to counter the attacks of the enemy.

• But as we look to Jesus and willingly submit to the ongoing child-training and chastening work of the Holy Spirit within, we will experience an inexplicable, inner peace that passes understanding, for this is the promise of God to all whose mind is resting in Christ.

• He has promised to keep our life from all harm and danger, to protect our minds from discouragement and despair, and to safeguard our hearts with His perfect peace.

• Each soul seeks some hidden wisdom or spiritual illumination that would bring in its wake light and life, salvation and peace, fulfilment, love, and hope.
• God has set out His unique way of life and salvation, peace, fulfilment, love, and hope, in His Word of Truth.

• I have seen the Angel of the Lord face to face!  The job for which Gideon was being commission terrified the man, for the Midianites caused him and the entire nation to fear greatly, but the Lord comforted him, gave him reassurance, and said to him, Peace to you.
• Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid - I am your peace.
• Gideon finally allowed the God of peace to guard his heart and trusted His Word, and Gideon discovered an attribute of God that had hitherto been hidden from humanity - that God was His peace - his Shalom.
• That He is the Author of peace and the Finisher of peace.
• And Gideon came to understand that when the peace of the Lord guards one's heart - there is no need to fear.

• Jesus was Israel's promised Messiah, and He had come to set up His royal kingdom of peace and prosperity, as was promised to Abraham and prophesied by holy men of God.
• The shocking rejection of their Messiah and King, His illegal trials and cruel crucifixion on a Roman cross, caused the longed-for time of peace and prosperity, under the rulership of God's anointed King, to be postponed for a season.

• Finally, he warns against bitterness which is a poison that emanates from the inner man, for it not only robs us of our inner joy and peace but quenches the Spirit's word in our lives and removes us from fellowship with the Father.

• At His First Coming He was despised and rejected of men and became our precious sin-Sacrifice but at His Second Coming He will rule and reign in justice and peace.

• In God's eyes, we were a rotting corpse, the putrefying remains of a fallen creation with no beauty that God should desire us; with no hope, help, comfort, or peace in the world.

• He has brought us out of darkness into His glorious light, and set our feet on the pathway of peace and the road of righteousness.

• In order for believers to be united together in love, joy, peace, and harmony, we are to let the mind of Christ dwell in us richly and to display the same beautiful disposition that Jesus displayed in His earthly life.

• In this way, as well as glorifying the Lord, we will live at peace with our brothers and sisters, and be a blessing to them.

• He alone was called 'great' and He alone was appointed after the order of Melchisedek; the Kingly-Priest of righteousness and peace, honoured by Abraham, and is identified as a type of Christ.

• He was Peace to Gideon; He was Shepherd to David; He came in a still small voice to Elijah, while Hagar was comforted by the One who sees all things.

• Reaching a point of desperation before returning to the Lord, has often been the way God has brought His children back to the pathway of penitence and peace.

• May we take to heart this warning in Hebrews and seek to live a God-honouring life, and not forfeit His perfect peace in our heart, His rest for our soul, treasure in heaven, and any reward that could have been ours, for a defeated Christian life is the ultimate tragedy of disobedience, apostasy, and unbelief.

• We will lose the inexpressible joy and peace that comes from a life walking in close communion with the Lord, resting in Him, and looking to Him in every circumstance of our lives.

• He is the Prince Who gives peace with God, and He is the God of rest for our soul.

• The secret place in the bowels of the mother should be a place of peace and protection, but too often the rights of the unborn are not valued, nor are they treated with awe-struck wonderment.

• Solomon used wood and fire to teach a necessary lesson on the inflammatory nature of gossip and talebearing, as opposed to the tranquillity and peace that accompanies the pure words of a righteous man: For lack of wood the fire goes out, is his initial observation which directs his reader towards some wholesome words: And where there is no whisperer, contention quiets down.

• Only then will Israel and the Gentile nations live in peace and safety - with Jesus as King and Lord of the whole earth.

• TODAY there is a MAN, Who is sitting at the right hand of the Majesty of high, waiting for the appointed time of His return to earth to place all enemies under His feet and rule the world in righteousness and peace.

• He became a Banner and Standard to the wandering Israelites in the wilderness, and to the frightened Gideon He became Shalom, the Lord is my Peace.

• As prophesied of old, He had been led as a lamb to the slaughter and stood before His accusers in the centre of this farcical trial, and yet He held His peace and refused to respond to the fabricated 'evidence'.
• Jesus could have called down fire from heaven and had legions of angels swarm into the house of the high priest and strike him and his co-conspirators dead, had He been so inclined - but Jesus held His peace and said not a word.

• The Jewish perception of the Messiah was a man who would come to defeat their Roman overlords in the physical realm and establish peace and plenty for all.
• The quickest way to cause fear to evaporate is to focus the eyes of our heart, steadily on the Lord Jesus, and in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, to cast our care on Him and to make our requests known to God - and then the peace of God that passes understanding will fill our minds and flood our hearts and our faith will flourish.

• James, the younger brother of the Lord Jesus, explains that the testing of our faith produces endurance, while Paul in this passage encourages us, by revealing that we who are afflicted, will certainly be given relief, when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels in flaming fire. God is the righteous judge of the whole earth, and although we appear to be living in days when evil men prosper, and the righteous are treated unjustly... punishment and judgement awaits our persecutors, while peace and rest is the reward for the people of God who are abused, afflicted, troubled, and oppressed.

• We were given a new 'in-Christ' spiritual nature that is eternally united with our Saviour, at peace with God, and clothed in the righteousness of Christ so that we may not do the things that we please.

• What an exquisite sound must have greeted their ears, when that immense celestial chorus joined that angelic messenger, as the entire host of angels lit up the night sky, and broke forth into their thrilling song of rejoicing, glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among men - with whom God is pleased.
• But the true message that was shared on that Bethlehem hillside, was that these good tidings which spoke of joy to mankind and peace on earth were for a particular group of people.
• The good tidings of great joy and lasting peace about which the angels sang, were for MEN OF GOODWILL.
• Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among men - the MEN, with whom God is pleased.
• Peace on earth to people who enjoy God's favour. We read that on earth there will be peace... among men of goodwill.
• God has promised peace to men with whom the Lord is well-pleased - those that are saved by grace through faith in Christ.
• Although the gospel message that these angels shared continues to be available to ALL men, only those that enjoy goodwill before the Lord, by believing on the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation, and trusting in the name of the only begotten Son of God for the forgiveness of sins, will enjoy the peace on earth that this heavenly choir proclaimed.
• Only they will discover the joy of the Lord in their hearts and peace with God in their lives.
• Although this good news which was delivered by the angels is open to ALL who will believe on the Lord Jesus Christ - nowhere in Scripture is it taught that peace on earth is for all men.
• Peace with God and the favour of God comes by grace alone, through faith alone in Christ alone.
• Peace WITH God is received when one is justified by faith.
• The peace OF God within and peace ON earth, during Christ's millennial reign, is only given to - men of goodwill.
• so that ALL who believe on Him would not perish, but receive peace with God and be granted the peace of God in their heart.
• Only those that have been saved by grace, will be among the joyful congregation that witnesses the Prince of Peace, when He comes to set up His everlasting Kingdom - when peace on earth will be governed in righteousness, and Jesus is crowned King of kings and Lord of lords.

• Paul sent a warm greeting, to all who are beloved of God in Rome, called as saints, and he included his traditional Pauline salutation, Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, but first, he introduced himself as, Paul, a bond-servant of Christ Jesus, who was called as an apostle, and set apart for the gospel of God.
• We are holy unto the Lord and are to be instruments of righteousness - set apart for Him - and the intertwined blessings of grace and peace (charis and shalom) is the beautiful benediction that anoints the heads of all the people of God, Grace to you and Peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
• And peace with God, which was gained at the Cross, is enlarged and extended... as the precious peace of God which passes all understanding, guards our hearts, protects our minds, and reigns in our lives, when we cast all our cares upon the Lord - so that in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, we are permitted to make our requests known to Him.
• The gifts of grace and peace come from our Heavenly Father and also from the Lord Jesus Christ Himself.
• Grace is bestowed first when we trust in Christ for our salvation, and the peace of God flows from our union with Him.
• Grace and peace are bestowed on all the saints who are beloved of God - just as they were given on the saints in Rome, in these opening verses of Paul's great treatise to the Romans.

• Perfect love casts out fear, and our relationship with our heavenly Father, which is founded on Christ's finished work at Calvary, should give us inner joy and a profound peace.

• May we never allow the satanically inspired philosophies, human reasoning, and new age belief systems, that are flooding the world today, to cause us to stray from the path of peace and the road of righteousness.

• Another important behaviour that the Philippians were encouraged to develop and maintain, was the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace, and to single-mindedly stand firm in the faith of the gospel of Christ, in one spirit, with one mind, striving together for the faith of the gospel.

• Their close, brotherly relationship, their singular passion for the gospel of grace, their fervent intercessions for their brothers and sisters in Christ, and their deep love of the brotherhood of the saints, appear to be areas that united Paul and Epaphras in their individual ministries, and bonded them together in a spirit of love - in the unity of the faith and in the bond of peace.

• It is by God's grace, through faith in Jesus Christ, our Kinsman Redeemer, that we are born-again, have peace with God, and become a child of the Most High.

• It is Christ Who has established peace between us, and Christ Who has reconciled us together in one Body to God, through the Cross.

• Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification.
• Let us follow after the things which make for peace so that we may edify one another, and let us pursue what promotes a godlike tranquillity in the Body of Christ and build up one another in godly grace.

• Our suffering becomes a testimony of the hope of salvation we have in Christ Jesus, and the peace that comes through faith in Him.

• This is the first horseman to gallop onto the world scene who will deceive mankind with the pretense of peace.

• Grace and peace is not only given to the child of God, but multiplied as we grow in grace and in a knowledge of our Heavenly Father and our Saviour, Jesus Christ.
• Spiritual growth is evidenced through the precious fruit of the Holy Spirit, but it takes time to mature and there is a clearly defined process of development and growth if we are to grow in grace and show forth the spiritual fruit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

• From chapter 40, we have a section that speaks of coming comfort and the deliverance, restoration, peace, and pardon, for God's people.

• We live in a perishable body, and the peace and security for which men seek so earnestly is short-lived and evanescent.

• The words of Jesus bring peace and hope, and His words keep us from stumbling.
• The gracious words of the Lord Jesus are light and life, health and wholeness, truth and love, peace and comfort, and these words are spoken to you that you may be kept from stumbling.

• where there will be permanent peace and security under the rulership of God's chosen Messiah, Who is King of kings and Lord of lords.

• Glory to God in the highest heaven, was the hymn that the angels sang at Christ's birth, and it continues, peace on earth, goodwill to men, or more accurately it should read... goodwill to men of peace - God's blessing on those that have made peace with God, by faith in Christ.
• Peace on earth and goodwill to all men is not the song of the angels, and not for the angels to fully understand, for only those who gain peace WITH God through faith in Christ, will receive the peace on earth and peace with God... for which men crave so deeply.

• While people who do not know the Lord are crying out, 'peace and safety' and probably cheering for the first horseman on his white horse - who will deceive the world with his peace plans... sudden destruction will come upon them all as the next three horsemen gallop onto the world stage - the red horseman of war and conflict - military action and bloodshed, the black horseman of plague and famine - scarcity, and inequality... and finally the fourth, terrifying horseman of death, on his pale green steed.

• Christ is our promised peace, and we gain that peace that will guard our hearts every day of our life if we rest in Him and trust what God has said in His Word.

• While earthly parents may try to teach their children obedience, kindness, and other important character-forming attributes, the Lord's discipline brings a rich and fruitful harvest of spiritual graces... peace and patience, faith and submission, goodness and grace, righteousness and love.

• Saved man celebrates his justifying grace, because he has been transferred from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of God's illuminating light and perfect peace.
• The well-being, happiness, strength, and inner peace of the believer, is swept away by the floodwaters of a troubled conscience which stagnates into melancholy.

• Yes, Stephen's outward behaviour displayed a supernatural, inner confidence in the Lord Who keeps us in perfect peace when our mind is stayed on Him.
• During his shocking ordeal, Stephen discovered that the peace of God which surpasses all comprehension, guarded his heart and shielded his mind as he looked to JESUS - the Author and Finisher of his faith.
• BUT His grace is still sufficient, His peace is still perfected in the heart that is stayed on Him, and our times are still in God's hands.

• It is that future occasion when Christ intervenes at the end of that terrible time of Jacob's trouble when He will return in power and great glory to set up His long awaited kingdom on earth, and bring in a time of peace and prosperity for all.

• He is Jerusalem's King of Peace and Righteousness, and Priest of the most high God.

• It was not long before the old prophet realised that Hannah's cry to God was serious and the Lord used him to comfort her and bid her go her way in peace, promising that God had heard her prayer and would answer her request.

• It is the peace of God that passes understanding permeating out to others from the indwelling Holy Spirit.

• His activities will be designed to deceive true believers, and Revelation tells us he will come as a man of peace, but war, destruction, and death will follow in his wake.

• Grace and peace to you from God and from the Lord Jesus Christ, is a well-loved and oft-used greeting that the apostles used throughout their letters.
• Grace and peace to you from God and from the Lord Jesus Christ, is commonly associated with Paul and other New Testament writers, and within this simple expression is a wealth of truth and a peep into the very nature of God and His immutable and eternal attributes.
• He did this so that lost sinners might be saved from God's judgement and have peace with God, by grace through faith in Him.
• He died in our place so that by faith in Him we would not be condemned, but clothed in His righteousness and receive life everlasting, as well as His perfect peace.
• The man who is dead in trespasses and sins and at enmity with God, may be become His child, receive forgiveness of sin, and gain peace with God: For the grace of God hath appeared, bringing salvation to all men.
• But it is the all-encompassing grace of God that is so treasured by believers, for having made peace with God we are enabled to receive the peace of God in our hearts and the ability to grow in grace and in a knowledge of our Saviour, Jesus Christ: For the grace of God has appeared, instructing us, guiding us, teaching us, and conforming us, day by day, into the likeness of Christ.
• Grace must always precede peace, for it is only by His grace that the sinner may have peace with God.
• And it is only by His grace that the believer can access His grace, continue in grace, and grow in grace so that we may have the peace of God which passes all understanding guarding our hearts and minds, as we live in Christ Jesus our Lord and His grace and peace is reflected in us.

• Peace is what people have yearned for down through the ages, and in this passage of scripture the nation of Israel has just been given a glorious promise from God of His perfect peace - if only their minds are stayed on Him.
• Like Israel, we too are reminded that righteousness and peace embrace each other and that the fruit of righteousness is God's perfect peace: peace with God and the peace of God.
• And it was at Calvary that righteousness and peace kissed each other in Christ, for without righteousness there can be no peace, and without peace there is no righteousness.

• But it is the Spirit of Christ that convicts man of sin, it is Christ Himself Who builds His Church, and it is His Word that causes men to look to Him and believe – for His Word is life and health and wholeness and peace.

• The man who fears the Lord and shows reverence for His name has come to an understanding of what God's holiness, justice, peace, love, goodness, and grace really means in relation to sinful humanity and this fallen creation.
• The man who reverences the Lord is the one who esteems His holiness, regards His justice, experiences His peace, and rests in His love.

• But this verse does not end with the first coming of Christ but reaches down centuries of time into His second coming, when Israel will remain in the land that was given to their forefather Abraham, in peace and security, and Christ will be great, His kingdom shall rule over all, and His dominion will stretch to the ends of the earth, and into the eternal ages to come.

• The former made alive in Christ, citizens of heaven and at peace with God, and the latter remaining dead in their sins, prisoners of Satan and at enmity with their Creator.

• They are born out of a submissive and respectful spirit which is at peace with God and owns the peace of God in her heart, because she trusts in Him.

• We have been instructed that in everything, by prayer and supplication, to make our requests known to God, and we are to do it with thanksgiving and praise, so that the peace of God will guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus our Lord.

• He carries them to safety when they foolishly stray from the straight and narrow pathway or wander aimlessly... from mountain to hill... in search of green pastures, peaceful waters, or a secure resting place.

• But the Lord Jesus was abiding in the Father and resting in His love, despite the ordeal that the little crew were facing, because the peace of God was secured in the heart of Christ.
• When we do this, the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard our hearts and our minds in Christ Jesus our Lord.

• They made peace treaties with certain tribes, and conscripted others to carry out hard labour for them.

• When we move from being a sinner to being saved, we receive a new life (the resurrected life of Christ), and by the power of the Holy Spirit we are returned into fellowship with our Creator, and finally have peace with God.
• When we are reborn into the family of God, all our sins are forgiven, past, present, and future, and we have peace with God and life everlasting.

• However, in order that they might have the peace of God in their heart, He said encouragingly, but be of good cheer, for I have overcome the world.
• Following his customary greeting of, grace to you and peace from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, Paul started to express his deep gratitude for the growing faith and abounding love of these precious believers, towards one another - and also towards Paul himself, and his fellow-labourers in the Lord - (Silvanus and Timothy).

• It gives peace to the righteous and strength to the weak.

• It must have been terrifying to have been visited by this angelic being, and to witness the sudden arrival of a great host of angels, who radiated the magnificence of God, and sang, glory to God in the highest and peace on earth - to men of goodwill.
• For by the first man - Adam, came sin, death, and eternal separation from God, but by the second Man, the Last Adam - Jesus Christ the righteous, came life and light, forgiveness, eternal peace on earth, and goodwill with God for men who believed - for as in Adam all DIE, so also ALL those that are positioned IN Christ, by faith, will be made alive.

• They were promised a future kingdom of peace and prosperity on earth, where they would be the head and not the tail of the nations.

• He is our Righteousness, and in Him we have Peace - the perfect peace of God in our heart and everlasting peace with God, for we are His children.

• To consolidate our understanding, we find the author once again illustrating his teaching from Old Testament Scripture, and reminding us of Abraham's significant meeting with Melchizedek, the Sovereign Priest of the most high God, the King of righteousness and King of peace. 

• Gideon found Jehovah-Shalom (The Lord is my Peace), and David, who knew that Lord as his Shepherd, was also told that He is the LORD of Hosts: Thus you shall say to My servant David, 'Thus says the LORD of hosts, I took you from the pasture, from following the sheep, to be ruler over My people Israel.'

• Conflict between believers was a deep concern that Paul challenged unrelentingly in a number of his epistles, because once murmuring, bickering, squabbling, and disunity, is allowed to percolate, the unity of the spirit in the bond of peace is destroyed, and contrary to the teaching of the Word.
• The enemy of God is the same evil one that comes to steal our peace, kill our hope, accuse the saints, and destroy our testimony.

• The rest we can only find in Jesus, as we trust Him to keep us in perfect peace.

• We have all heard Christ's command not to allow the cares of this world to enter in and choke the Word of truth, crowd out the peace of God in our heart, and cause us to become defeated and unfruitful.

• Paul appealed for them to abandon their worldly ways, cease from any internal disputes, reject the aberrant doctrines of false teachers, and live in a bond of peace and brotherly love.

• God sent His only begotten Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, to redeem mankind: to bring men out from slavery to sin and death into the light of the glorious gospel of peace-with-God.
• God's wrath was poured in all its fury on Him so that God's perfect peace could be our portion in all its abundance.

• He is the Wonderful Counsellor and Prince of Peace.

• It is only as the love of God is poured into our hearts by faith in Christ, that we are identified as His children, for Jesus is our blessed Hope - and all who have this godly love, joy, peace, and hope in our hearts, are purified.

• The plan of God was formed outside of time, space, mass, and matter, as well as being beyond the reach of human reasoning or man's analytical thoughts, for God purposed that Christ would be the federal head of a new creation, which is the Church, and that Christ would be the first to rise from the dead and in so doing, HE would become pre-eminent so that in everything HE might have the supremacy: For it was the Father’s good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him, and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His Cross.
• The Cross and all it stands for is foolishness to the Gentiles and a stumbling-block to the Jews, but to those who believe the simple message of the Cross as a little child, with Christ as God's unique and perfect sacrifice, the Cross and all it stands for becomes the power of life, the wisdom of God, eternal salvation to the soul, and PEACE - a peace from God which passes all understanding to the man or woman that trust God's Word and believes the simple gospel of God's grace.

• However, like David, we can resist the Spirit, quench the Spirit, or even grieve the Spirit of God, which not only causes our fellowship with the Father to be broken, but can suppress our joy and steal the perfect peace of God within.

• God also told Solomon that Israel's disobedience would result in loss of their peace, their freedom, their land, and their Temple.
• God told Solomon that He would honour the unconditional promises He made to both David and Abraham as well as the conditional covenant which was made through Moses, but if the nation failed to honour their covenant promises to God, (made through Moses and re-established at Solomon's Feast of Dedication) then the nation of Israel would forfeit their peace, be uprooted from their land, and their Temple would be cast out of God's sight.

• We have peace, peace - wonderful peace with God, because we are saved.
• Through believing on Christ's finished work of redemption, we have peace with God, for Christ is the propitiation for our sins Who made peace with God on our behalf.
• We have peace, peace - the wonderful peace of God that passes understanding, even through days of deep distress and troublous times, when we submit to His leading and follow His example, by saying: Not my will but Thine be done.
• We have peace, peace - the wonderful peace of Christ's own perfect peace, for we are in eternal union with our Saviour and we can enjoy precious communion with the Father as we walk in spirit and truth.
• We have been given peace, peace - the wonderful peace of the Spirit of Christ deep in our inner beings, for He has taken up permanent residence within our bodies, through all time and into all eternity.
• Christ left a wonderful legacy of His inner peace - His wonderful gospel of peace to be shed abroad to a world in clamour, a world of strife, and a world of broken lives and deep pain so that all that believe on Him will have wonderful peace with God and the wonderful peace of God.
• Humanity longs for perfect peace, precious peace, God's wonderful peace - but there is no peace on earth without Christ.
• There is no rest outside of Him and there is no hope unless we are reconciled to the Father through Christ Jesus Who gave His own little flock His gift of peace, peace - wonderful peace, when He said, My Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you.
• May the God of peace be with you, as you rest and remain and abide in Christ's peace - His wonderful, wonderful peace.

• Following behind the first horseman who rides a white horse, and deceives the world by bringing in a false peace, is a rider on a fiery red horse.
• He witnessed a red horse galloping onto the world scene, and to the one who sat on it, was granted permission to take peace from the earth, so that men would slay one another... and a great sword was given to him.
• He bursts into the pseudo-peaceful world-scene, carrying a great sword in his hand, with power to engulf the nations of the world, in a terrible and bloody war. 
• The worldwide influence of this rider is too great to be halted by any national army, and peace is quickly taken from the world, causing men to indiscriminately kill one another, and inflict on the earth the most devastating slaughter in the history of mankind.
• The progression from the fabricated global peace, brought in by the first rider, to worldwide war and the unprecedented slaughter and destruction of vast numbers of humanity, by the second horseman, follows closely the progression of events in Christ's Olivet discourse, only hours before His crucifixion..
• It is the forerunner to Christ's Millennial rule of peace and prosperity for all.

• The fruit of that righteousness will be peace; its effect will be quietness and confidence forever.

• The dominion of sin and death breaks and binds, and it enslaves and snuffs out peace and hope, joy and love.
• There are those that, in their self-sufficiency and pride, refuse His comfort and peace, His atoning work on Calvary's Cross where He was wounded for our transgressions, bruised for our iniquities, and the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; for by His stripes we are healed.

• He knew that the joy of the Lord was their strength, and that the secret of possessing the peace of God was to be anxious for nothing, but in everything to pray to the Lord, and give thanks to our heavenly Father, for His goodness and grace.
• He knew that their joy would evaporate if they did not fill their hearts and minds with all that is pure and lovely, virtuous and praiseworthy - and Paul knew that only those that imitated his Christ-centred life, and stood firm on the glorious gospel of grace - with thanksgiving, would experience the precious peace of God, which passes human understanding, and be equipped to rejoice in the Lord in every situation.

• They knew that He had come to heal the broken hearted, to set captives free, to heal the sick, to cleanse lepers, to raise the dead, to rescue the perishing, to bring liberty to those that were in bondage, and to establish the prophesied time of peace and prosperity in the land; a time that had been promised to their forefather Abraham, as an everlasting covenant.

• Jesus wanted to show... that just as He was able to heal all their sicknesses and provide for their physical needs, He is also the One Who could heal the broken soul, release them from the slave-market of sin, bind up their emotional distresses, and bring inner peace and joy to their heart.

• Reverence and respect towards our heavenly Father, a Christlike love towards others, and inner peace, is often identified through the godly works, pure thoughts, and sound speech, that flows through our daily life.
• It is careless speech, a critical attitude, thoughtless behaviour, and an unrighteous lifestyle that warns us that we have fallen from grace and strayed from the path of peace.

• But they are also IN God the Son, for we read: Paul, and Silvanus, and Timothy, to the church of the Thessalonians, in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace.
• No wonder Paul added at the end of this verse His oft repeated blessing: Grace to you and peace.
• When we are recipients of God's grace, by faith, we have access to God's peace: Peace WITH God because our sins are forgiven, and the peace OF God which guards our hearts, as we rest and remain in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
• His grace is ours by believing what He DID on the CROSS, and His peace is ours when we believe what He SAYS in His WORD.

• God was in Christ making peace between us and Himself and through HIM, all who believe on His name have obtained the forgiveness of sin and eternal redemption.

• God had promised Israel a Messiah Who would destroy their enemies and set up an earthly kingdom of peace and prosperity in the land that He gave to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
• Jesus was hailed as their long awaited Messiah and the expectation was that He would bless those that were poor in spirit, feed the hungry, heal the sick, comfort the afflicted, defeat their hated enemies, and set up the prophesied heavenly kingdom of peace and prosperity.

• To do so will ensure that God's incomprehensible peace will protect our hearts and govern our minds in Christ Jesus our Lord.
• As Paul draws his epistle to a close, we are reminded of the conditions that God Himself has laid down for all His children in order to enjoy that inner, living, perfect peace of God which passes all understanding,
• Let us seek to live our Christian life as God intended, with right thinking, right speaking, right acting, and right praying so that the peace of God which transcends all understanding guards our hearts and our minds in Christ Jesus.

• When the love of Jesus is genuinely filling our hearts, we discover a joy in the Lord that is inexpressible and a peace in our heart that passes human understanding.

• Only in Him can we gain peace with God, be clothed in Christ's righteousness, and discover the peace of God that passes understanding.

• He will come in the cloud with His church-age saints, to set up His millennial rule on earth - and will usher in a time of peace and prosperity.

• Just as the Transfiguration was a tiny preview into the coming earthly kingdom, when Christ would rule and reign as King of kings and Lord of lords, so the things that Christ said to His followers and the things that Christ did with His disciples following His Resurrection was also a tiny foretaste of the coming Church dispensation: A time when believers not only have peace with God by grace through faith in His death, burial and Resurrection, but they have the peace of God in their hearts.
• They have the indwelling Holy Spirit, guarding their hearts and giving rest and peace to their soul, as they abide in Christ.
• Christ had promised to send the Spirit of comfort into their hearts after His departure into heaven; the Spirit of love, and life, and joy, and patience, and hope, and wisdom, and grace, and peace.
• And so, as the time for His Ascension drew ever closer and His disciples were to take full responsibility to carry on the work that Lord Jesus had started, He said to them once again: Peace be with you; as the Father has sent Me, I also send you.
• Earlier, the Lord Jesus had promised to leave His peace with His faithful followers: My peace I leave with you; My peace I give unto you: not as the world gives, give I unto you.
• Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. And now, as the time for His departure had finally arrived, He once again prayed for the peace of God to flood their hearts; the peace that passes understanding; the peace that is the birthright of those that are His blood-bought children.
• As the time for His departure drew ever closer, Jesus said to them once again: Peace be with you; as the Father has sent Me, I also send you.

• We do not have a distant, ineffective God but a God of peace Who made peace with us through the death of the Lord Jesus, and Who gives us His own perfect peace as we remain in fellowship with Him.
• We do not have a vague, impotent God, but one who is our Good Shepherd Who works on our behalf, Who guides our feet into the way of peace, and Who Himself equips us for all that we need to carry out His plan and purpose in our lives.
• We are reminded of some of Jesus' parting words to the disciples, as recorded by John: Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.

• It is only repentant sinners who are given peace with God.

• Knowing the devastating results of following after the evils of this world, Peter is encouraging the believers in Christ to refrain from speaking falsities, but rather to seek and pursue after peace.
• The Lord Jesus Himself told us that peacemakers are blessed by God and are called His children, but in a fallen world, peace is something that is only found in Christ - and we must seek after it and actively work to maintain it.
• The world may desire peace and make proposals for peace.
• They plan for peace and even sign peace treaties, but only believers in Jesus will find true peace, for peace WITH God comes only to those who trust in Christ as Saviour, and the peace OF God is given to those believers who maintain sweet fellowship with the Father.
• Paul is the one that reminds us in Philippines chapter 4, how we are to seek and secure the peace of God.
• We are to live and walk and pray in spirit and truth and then the peace of God, which surpasses our human understanding, and will guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus our Lord.
• In the increasingly evil days in which we live, let us turn from everything that is evil, walk by the Spirit, doing good in His power and for His glory, and seek the peace which transcends understanding, and which is only found in the loving arms of our Lord Jesus Christ.

• While the first part predominantly warns of the approaching day of the Lord's judgement and calls for the spiritual renewal of priests and people alike, the last 27 chapters prophesy of Israel's eventual salvation, deliverance, restoration, peace, and prosperity, which will only come when they call on the name of the Lord, their prophesied Messiah and Saviour of the world.
• They not only mocked Isaiah's warning words by making a peace covenant with their pagan neighbours, they believed that nothing could harm them and said sarcastically, We have made a covenant with death!
• But he sternly told these foolish people that because they arrogantly said, We have made a covenant with death... and with Sheol we have made a pact... God would bring their foolish peace treaties to naught.

• Understanding the perplexity in their hearts, the gracious Saviour offered words of compassion and comfort as He compressed His eternal love for them into a brief season, starting with these dear words of reassuring peace, comfort, and tender encouragement, Peace I leave with you.
• My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you.
• They knew the Messiah would bring in a rule of peace and prosperity, as He had promised and as Scripture had revealed.
• These were the perplexing circumstances that surrounded Christ's little group of faithful followers, but this was the night that Jesus shared some words of comfort and consolation, that has blessed so many, down through the ages, Peace I leave with you.
• My peace I give to you.
• It is not a worldly peace I give you, so don't be troubled, don't be fearful - fear not little flock.
• Peace is incompatible in a world of sin, where turmoil within and confusion without, is the awful legacy of man's sinful rebellion against his Creator.
• But 'peace' was what Jesus promised His people, amidst the disturbing circumstances that loomed before His disciples.
• He was the One who offered peace with God to the lost sinner, who would place his trust in Him.
• But in this verse, He promised those who have trusted in Him, the perfect peace of God, an inner peace that flows from Christ through us.
• His peace is a heavenly peace that passes human comprehension.
• No peace can rule in the bloodied heart of a man who is dead in his sins, but Christ's words of comfort to His little flock must have brought them great consolation on that last Passover night.
• And as we seize hold of this truth in our heart, the more we discover that the perfect peace of God which passes understanding, will guard our hearts and protect our minds in Christ Jesus our Lord.
• As we face the ever-increasing turmoil and confusion that reigns in this fallen world, let us fix our gaze on Jesus, knowing that God will keep us in perfect peace when our mind is focussed on Him.

• He would be a descendent of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and David... and it was foretold that He would herald in a wonderful time of peace and prosperity for His people, Israel.

• God desires all His children to seek Him, to come to Him, to draw near to Him, to rest in Him, and to abide in His truth, for He is the God of peace and His is a peace that passes all understanding.
• He longs to shed abroad His love and peace and joy and hope on all who believe in His Word and trust that He rewards those who diligently seek Him.

• In his customary introductions, which, as always, included the lovely salutation, grace and peace to you,  Paul used himself as a role model, to show that the comfort and grace of God, brought him amazing consolation and strength, in the midst of his severe suffering and persecution - and Paul assured his listeners that the Lord is no respecter of persons and would provide the same comfort and strength for each one of them.

• He would be the Son of the most high God, the promised Seed of the woman, and the prophesied Jewish Messiah Who would rule the world in justice and peace.

• He came to fulfil the prophetic writings that told of a Messiah Who would sit on the throne of David and bring in the promised period of peace and prosperity.

• May we acknowledge Him in ALL things, knowing that He will teach us His will and lead us in His paths of perfect peace.

• Although the psalmist pleaded for God's grace and salvation in the earlier verses, and described the bitter dismay that was heavy on his soul, the final few verses provide a flickering ray of hope and encouragement, as David starts to rebuke those that have disturbed his peace with a display of confidence: Depart from me all you who do iniquity, he cries in exultation, for the LORD has heard the voice of my weeping.

• And although the enemy will continue to interfere with the unity of the spirit and disrupt our bond of peace... with divisive doctrines and critical attitudes, the Lord's High Priestly prayer, that they may be One, still remains true today.

• But they should never be given free rein to rule our lives and dictate our decisions for unguarded feelings can fluctuate, unguarded emotions can twist and turn on a whim, unguarded thoughts can toss to and fro like the waves of the sea, and an unguarded will can lead you away from the path of peace.

• He sits on His Father's throne as the coming Prince of Peace, the returning Messiah of Israel, and future King of kings and Lord of lords.
• He alone is the faithful and true witness Who loved us so much that He offered up His sinless life, so that His perfect peace could flood into the heart of all who trust in Him for salvation.

• Christ is the only begotten of the Father, the mighty God, the Messiah of Israel, the Prince of Peace, and Saviour of the world.

• Our hope not only embraces the peace of the Lord and His wonderful sufficiency in this life, but unimaginable joy that is beyond human description in the life to come.

• The power of the Holy Spirit can be manifest in the life of all believers whose heart reflects the unity of the spirit in the bond of peace, rather than permitting envy, strife, jealousy, or contentions to influence our behaviour.

• Unity in the faith and the bond of peace will only truly happen once the completed Church has been taken to be with the Lord.

• It is by grace through faith in Christ's redeeming blood that we have been brought near to God and been given peace with Him.

• Jesus was the Mediator between God and man, for God was in Christ making peace between the world and Himself: God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself. Having restored those who believe on His name, He did not count our trespasses against us, but He committed to us the word of reconciliation.

• Instead of facing God's justified wrath and eternal indignation, grace and peace has been multiplied to us, by faith in Christ Jesus our Saviour, and in Him we have been forgiven of our many sins and reckoned by our Heavenly Father as righteous.

• But as if to reassure His children concerning the cataclysmic events of the future, which the aged apostle was yet to record, we hear the reassuring message: Grace to you and peace from Him Who is, and Who was and Who is to come, the Almighty God.
• The encouraging message of grace and peace is sent from God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit to the seven churches, through the apostle John.
• All three members of the Godhead give us a wonderful reassurance of grace and peace at the very start of this amazing book of Revelation.
• And as we meditate on these terrifying prophetic verses, we can have peace in our hearts that God (Who is altogether righteous, altogether loving, and altogether perfect) will do right in all things.

• Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you.

• It is in the midst of his introductory salutations, but before he wrote his customary greeting: Grace and peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Saviour, that Paul seems unable to refrain from declaring, once again, the truth of the beautiful gospel of grace and the hope of eternal life which is given to all who trust in Jesus' name.

• Because they rejected their Messiah and because of their unbelief and apostate ways, God's promised kingdom of peace and prosperity on earth was postponed.

• They would discover Him to be the godly Way, the singular Truth, and the Path to perfect peace with God.
• He is the glory of His people Israel and the One Who will heal their soul and guide their feet into the way of peace.

• On the other hand, we discover a time of peace and prosperity when Christ is ruling and reigning on a rejuvenated earth, where the wolf lies down with the lamb and the earth is filled with the glory of God as the waters cover the sea.
• On that day, every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord to the honour of God the Father - and Christ will set up His 1000 year rule of peace and prosperity on earth.

• At salvation, we received peace WITH God.
• However, throughout our life on earth, we are able to receive the peace OF God, which passes all understanding.
• The peace of God will guide our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, if we abide in Him, rest in Him, submit to Him, and utterly depend upon Him.

• The carnally minded believer leads to death while the spiritually minded believer leads to life and peace.
• But praise God we can rectify this sad state of affairs by changing the way we think - by habitually setting our heart on heavenly things - by continuously looking to Jesus - by fervently drinking in His Word - and by developing a spiritual mind-set that makes for life and peace.

• He was the One Whom Scripture promised would come to set up His kingdom of peace and prosperity on earth.
• He was the One Who will bring in an era of peace and prosperity, where Israel would be the head and not the tail of the nations.

• Many non-Christians consider it a charter for world peace or a principle to be adopted in their individual lives or by nations; do these things on this list and you will become righteous.

• He may permit His inner peace to flood our heart and mind as we keep our eyes looking to Him.

• Paul's usual greeting of 'grace and peace' was extended with the addition of 'mercy': To Timothy, my true child in the faith, he writes, grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.
• Grace is when we receive what we don't deserve, mercy is not receiving what we do deserve, while peace with God is given to all who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation.
• And the peace of God is what our heart can be filled with when a believer walks in spirit and truth and in everything, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, makes their requests known to God.
• As with all his letters, the little epistle of first Timothy provides each of God's children with great encouragement and edification, authoritative instruction on living the Christian life, and wisdom in combatting false teachings, as well as the blessings of God's grace, the joy of His mercy and His perfect peace in our hearts, a peace which passes understanding.
• God's grace, mercy, and peace is not only ours from God the Father but it also comes through Jesus Christ our Lord.
• Grace, mercy, and peace is our present possession from God our Father Who sent His only begotten Son to be the sacrifice for our sin, but we also are given grace, mercy, and peace from the Lord Jesus Christ Who loved the Church so dearly that He gave Himself for her. 

• The first rider sits on a white horse heralding a false peace, while the second horseman brings in his wake a great and bloody war, that wlll kill a fourth of mankind.
• While the bow without an arrow identified the first rider, as the one who would usher in a false peace, and the great sword of the second horseman depicted war and bloodshed, the third rider held in his hands a pair of scales - representing unprecedented famine.
• He is the One who is will punish the wicked and restore justice, peace and prosperity to a sinful world, that has lost its way.

• But the same Tree of Life has reappeared in this final chapter of God's Word, with a promise from the Lord Jesus that He is returning soon to finish the good work He started at Calvary - and to establish in His kingdom of peace and prosperity.

• Indeed, suffering develops the spiritual fruit of patient endurance, which produces a crop of godly righteousness and peace in the lives of those who have been trained or exercised by it.

• We are to seek peace and to pursue it, and we are to be sanctified unto God and live godly in Christ Jesus which is the Father's will for all His children.

• As members of Christ's Body, we have the indwelling Spirit of peace and joy and can enter boldly into the throne-room of grace, for mercy to find help in times of need.

• Jesus was the Passover Lamb, the Burnt Offering, the Grain Offering and the Peace Offering.

• They were lacking in love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control, and as a result we discover them to be the most carnal believers to whom Paul wrote; and carnality results in a stunted Christian life.

• But because of the nation's evil, God's wrath would have to precede His promised time of peace and prosperity and His few faithful followers were warned not to long for the day of the Lord, for it would be a day of deep darkness and terrible gloom,and would bring with it the severest judgement upon His people, Israel.

• How important, also, to recognise the wisdom of maintaining the unity in the spirit in the bond of peace and preserving harmony in the Body of Christ.
• It was some years later in his letter to the Ephesians that Paul wrote, Endeavour to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
• Similarly, he encouraged the Roman church to consider others before themselves and wrote, If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men.

• The Bible teaches that the land that was promised by God to the nation of Israel, will one day be fulfilled - when Christ returns to rule and reign as King of kings - and it is possible that His promise to prolong the days of those that honour their parents may be referring to this future time of peace and prosperity.

• In their satanic hatred of God, these ungodly men will seek to wrench away Christ's legitimate authority and His God-given sovereign right to rule the nations of the earth, in equity and peace.

• This not only pleases God and demonstrates faith in His Word, but gives every day advice on peaceful living, while avoiding troublesome situations.
• This saying is a 'stand-alone' truth that is applicable to every man, but in order to discover the godly way to go, the correct choices to make, and the true path that leads to life and light, peace and hope, the entire book of Proverbs needs to be taken into account, for it records every aspect of living a godly life.

• Perhaps the prayer that Paul often prayed for these and other believers throughout the middle east could be summed up in the final few verses of this lovely letter: Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass.

• His kingdom would smash in pieces all earthly kingdoms for His was to be a kingdom of righteousness, justice, and peace.

• Furthermore, we will experience God's peace which passes all understanding, which will stand guard on our hearts and minds, enabling us to stand firm in the Lord.

• By faith, we have been made alive in Christ and should endeavour to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
• Naturally there are issues of conduct or doctrine that may need to be addressed in a local fellowship by the eldership, but how sad when caustic words and unacceptable behaviour occurs within the Church, and how important that we seek to love the brotherhood, and as far as we are able to be at peace with one another.

• May we all stand firm, having girded our loins with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod our feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace.

• Be humble and gentle, patient and tolerant with each other, he exhorts us: Make every effort to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace, and do everything in love, for the sake of Jesus.
