• Many a work which has mightily served the Lord and been a great spiritual testimony has lost its former glory, purity, and impact because it has become a Work, a Movement, an Organization, and its ramifications and responsibilities have become such as to completely rule out any such retreat with God, where that work is put back and a real openness to the Lord for anything else, more or other, is enquired after.

• They had been disobedient children, but now they must turn from their sin to Christ. John gave this testimony: “I saw the Holy Spirit descending like a dove from heaven and resting upon Him.

• Sometimes he is not vindicated until after he has left the earthly scene of his testimony.

• Moses is lifted up in the book of Hebrews as a prime example of faithfulness, for we read: Now Moses was faithful in all his house as a servant, and the Lord used Moses as a testimony of those things which were to be spoken of later.Just as the Law is a schoolmaster which steadfastly points us to Christ and His New and better Covenant, so Moses was a faithful servant whom God used as a trusted sign-post to point us to the coming Messiah, for he testified of those things which were to be spoken about later - the revelation that was to come through Jesus Christ, the Son of God and Son of Man.Moses bore witness of the good news of man's redemption which would come through a greater Prophet than he, a greater Priest than Aaron, and a greater king than David.
• May the lives we live be a testimony of the riches of God’s grace towards us, and may we reflect the beauty of Jesus in the words that we say and the things that we do.

• What a shocking testimony of what sin can do and what a sombre truth of the destructive nature of sin in the life of men.

• The enemy of our soul desires to shipwreck our faith and render our testimony impotent - either by stroking our ego or by causing us to become fearful.

• The testimony of David, which is quoted in Romans, establishes a truth we all need to understand - that God is justified in His dealings with sinful man, for we are all guilty creatures in need of His gift of grace for our salvation... and any presumptuous accusations that men may make against God's Word or His Character will simply condemn the sinner as a liar and justify the Lord in His righteousness. 

• Despite John's testimony that Jesus was the One Who was sent from above, and in spite of Christ's prolonged announcement of His Messianic credentials and heavenly authority, the Lord Jesus was accused by the Jewish leaders of His day, of casting out demons by the satanic power of Beelzebub.

• But the Word contains both bitterness as well as sweetness, for although the testimonies of the Lord are as sweet as honey in the mouth, they can become as bitter as gall in the stomach.

• It empowers us to carry out the work that God has prepared for us to do and it emboldens us to engage in the spiritual warfare of this age, effectively: For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and satanic powers, who prowl around, seeking to destroy our ministry and taint our testimony.Peace and love with faith, comes directly from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

• Rather than recognising Jesus as the Passover Lamb Who would take away the sin of the world and save His people from their sin, they ignored the testimony of John the Baptist, the signs and wonders that authenticated His messianic claims, and the audible witness of His Heavenly Father Who said, This is my beloved Son, in Whom I am well pleased.

• No wonder Paul could rejoice that in every way we are enriched in Him in all speech and understanding which is being continuously showered upon us all in great profusion and which stands as a testimony that Christ is confirmed in us.

• Despite the inexhaustible testimony of the Law, the Prophets, and the Psalms, and in-spite of all His signs, miracles, wonders, and glorious Resurrection from the dead, many religious leaders in that day, refused to believe in Him.

• Jesus is the one about whom prophecy is written and He is the one that ultimately fulfils all prophecy as John reminds us in Revelation 19: The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

• Her false testimony may have been recorded in Scripture, but it is not condoned by the Lord.

• He sounds as if he were advancing in years, because John refers to Him as 'Gaius, the Elder' and yet it is likely that this elderly gentleman was brought to faith in Christ through the ministry of John himself, for in addressing him, the apostle writes: I have no greater joy than this – to hear of my children walking in the truth.John makes no secret of his love and respect for this man, whom he admits to love in truth, for it appears that his whole life was dedicated to the Lord, and Gaius must have been a wonderful testimony of a godly man who walked in grace and love, for we read that his soul prospered.

• It was David who knew this to be true in his own life, and we find him reflecting on the wonder of the Lord as he prayerfully considers the goodness of God and His faithfulness in meeting sinners and teaching them the way of truth: All the paths of the LORD are lovingkindness and truth, he writes, His ways lead to gracious love, and He shows His fidelity towards those who keep His covenant and His testimonies.

• Though all Scripture is the divinely inspired, inerrant Word of God, which is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness, Luke makes it very clear that accurate historical research and the testimony of reliable witnesses of that day, contributed to the authority and authenticity of its content.

• Whoever believes in the Son of God accepts the testimony of His unfailing Word.
• But whoever does not believe in the Son of God, has made their Creator out to be a liar, because they have not believed the testimony God has given about His Son.

• Peter reminded them that the Lord Jesus, Whom lawless people nailed to a cross and killed, was resurrected from the dead, ending the power and pain of death for all who would believe, because it was not possible for the eternal Son of God to be held by death: God has resurrected this Jesus, was Peter's clear testimony on that day of Pentecost, and we are all witnesses of this.

• The testimony this demon-possessed man was compelled to make during that Sabbath service, stated plainly Who Jesus was and where He was from.

• His confidence in his own ministry and the testimony of these believers in Corinth, was firmly rooted in Christ.

• He details the importance of a believer's prayer life and testimony for the Lord.

• Tensions between the two groups increased so significantly that the religious, Jewish leaders who rejected their Messiah, took steps to suppress the testimony of God's grace by exterminating everyone who professed faith in Jesus of Nazareth - the King of the Jews.

• Paul's testimony was not a defence of himself or his conduct.

• Should not we who have been saved by grace alone - through faith alone- in Christ alone, give testimony of God's great love for mankind by giving up ourselves to His service until we can say as He did: Father Thy will be done in my life, to Your praise and glory.

• Our Christian walk should be the transparent evidence of a life, wholeheartedly surrendered to our God, both in the intent of our minds and the testimony of our deeds.

• Indeed, he made many mistakes in his journey through life, and had to learn many lessons along the way. Nevertheless, it is a wonderful testimony to this man that he did not falter in his faith, which not only glorified God but gives us an example of the need to understand how important it is to believe God - for without faith, it is impossible to please God. 

• May we discern the creeping cancer of apostasy in these increasingly dark days and reject the toxic nature of apostate individuals whose influence will only taint our testimony and dishonour our Lord.

• This Psalm is a beautiful testimony of salvation - by grace through faith in the Lord.

• He is one who hears and believes the testimony of those that bore witness of Christ's earthly walk and who were used of God to pen the holy Scriptures.

• May we be those that are prepared to correct a Christian brother or sister in LOVE, when we see someone going astray or destroying their testimony through carnality and sin.

• This gift of languages was one of the signs which Old Testament prophets had foretold would bear testimony to the truth of their message of salvation.

• He declared his personal testimony to them and proclaimed the gospel of Christ.

• Christ's own disciples also bore testimony to the truth of His Word which was further validated at Pentecost, when the hearts of many men were pierced with the shocking truth that the One Whom they crucified was both Lord and Christ.
• And in God's grace, this testimony is also displayed in our own lives by the gifts of the Holy Spirit, for He gives to each one according to His own perfect will and wisdom.
• The testimony of God is recorded in the Word of God.
• Let us not be influenced by the secular mind-set of the world, but trust the testimony of God Himself.

• Even when the testimony of our physical senses, witness to the contrary.

• Firstly, does my conduct or choice glorify the Lord and secondly, could my action or attitude negativity impact my Christian testimony or have a detrimental effect on my fellow man.

• He was the One Who would guide them into all truth and bring to their remembrance the things He had spoken so that generations of believers would believe on the Lord Jesus Christ through their testimony, and be saved.

• The enemy of our soul seeks to ship-wreck the life and testimony of believers by whatever means he can, and Paul's counter-measure to satanic influences, worldly philosophers, deceptive arguments, and false doctrines, is to know and practice the truth.

• His father announced that John would be a prophet of the Most High and give God's people a knowledge of salvation through the forgiveness of their sin, and throughout his ministry, John gave testimony of the Person and work of Christ. 
• John had to resist the temptation to become great in the sight of his followers or to diminish the importance of Christ, and so 'He must become more important, but I must become less important', was his testimony.

• But he did not come proclaiming the testimony of God with clever words nor did he bamboozle them with superiority of speech.

• He paid the price for sin on our account, freely and without cost, and He broke the power of sin in our life so that He could live in us, carry out His righteous work through us, and produce in us the fruit of righteousness as a living testimony of His goodness and grace.

• They all heard His teaching and could give personal testimony of His miracles.

• Although he is neither omniscient nor omnipotent, the devil continues on, unabated, with his nefarious plan to discredit our Christian testimony and bring dishonour to the name of the Lord - and so we are exhorted to resist him and to withstand his evil approaches.

• Christ's prayer would later expand into intercession for the whole Body of Christ who would come to faith in Him through the word of their testimony and their faithful witness to the truth.

• And we who have trusted in Christ as Saviour and seek to live Spirit-filled godly lives, rejoice with exceeding great joy for the faithful testimony of this little remnant of believing Jews, who were the first to testify of the death, burial, and Resurrection of the Lamb of God Who takes away the sin of the world.

• He was falsely arrested by a religious mob and taken to an illegal trial where the chief priests and the whole Council of Jewish elders kept trying to obtain testimony against Him, to put Him to death.
• There were many false testimonies levied against Jesus but no fault was found in Him, for the lying testimonies of His accusers were not consistent!
• Jesus was incarnate TRUTH, so His testimony was true.

• The first topic Paul addressed in his epistle to the Corinthians was their inappropriate, childish behaviour, which not only presented a poor testimony to the unbelievers in their local community, but also caused them to revert to carnal behaviour and regress into spiritual infancy.

• And James also teaches about the effects of true and false wisdom – the cause of covetousness and its righteous cure.And here in this verse, the apostle simply explains to his readers the consequences of knowing what is godly and honourable in the sight of the Lord, and yet refusing to carry it out... therefore, he warns, to the one who knows the right thing to do yet does not do it, to him it is sin.The man or woman who has become a child of God by faith, may not be under the law of Moses, but we are most certainly under the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus, and James teaches that to know what is good but to do what is evil – whether in thought, word, or deed, dishonours the Lord Who bought us with His precious blood and blemishes our testimony for Christ.As children of God, our motive and attitude should be to live for Christ every moment of the day – to present our lives as a living sacrifice to Him, to trust His Word and walk in utter dependence on Him, moment by moment, and for His greater glory.Living the Christian life as God intended and instructed, should be the main aim of the Christian, and failure to do so is identified by James as a sin which should be confessed to the Lord and addressed in our life if we are to remain in holy fellowship with the Father and grow in grace, to His honour and glory.

• Paul's testimony was the most glorious example that salvation is by God's grace and not by man's merit or works of the Law.
• May the testimony of our own lives glorify God and not ourselves.

• And Christ's life is a testimony of the way God desires all men to live.

• Paul considered that the outward signs of persecution on his body were a testimony that he was a Christian and belonged to Christ: For I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus, he wrote in his Epistle to the Galatians.

• He also upbraided them for moral neglect and sexual sin, all of which presented a poor Christian testimony to the outside world and dishonoured the Lord Who bought them.

• It was just before his death, that David delivered to Solomon a very sober instruction: Keep the charge of the LORD your God, to walk in His ways, to keep His statutes, His commandments, His ordinances, and His testimonies, was David urgent directive to his son.
• The statutes, commandments, ordinances, and testimonies mentioned in this verse, relate to the various decrees, commands, and requirements laid out in the Mosaic Law.
• Obey His commandments, His ordinances, and His testimonies, according to all that is written in the Law of Moses, that you may succeed in all that you do - wherever you turn.
• As New Testament Christians, we are no longer bound by the statutes, commandments, ordinances, and testimonies as laid out in the Mosaic Law, for we are no longer under the law but under grace.

• May we encourage and edify our brothers and sisters in Christ, with gracious words and pure deeds - so we remain in close fellowship with our heavenly Father and become the living testimony to our fellow man.

• David knew that the wonder and beauty of God's creation is the greatest testimony to the goodness of God: Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice.

• Paul rejoiced to see that their trust in Christ had become a wonderful witness to the world as the glorious gospel of God's grace was spread abroad through their testimony.

• Many heard the testimony of the Bethlehem shepherds when Christ was born, or who were acquainted with Zechariah who had been visited by an angel to inform him of the birth of his son, John.

• Each is to guard against traits that mar their testimony, such as immaturity, instability, and gullibility.
• We are to eschew all forms of jealousy, vindictiveness, and vengeful thoughts, for resentment and bitterness can give the devil an opportunity to shipwreck a life, tarnish a believer's testimony, or stunt a Christian's spiritual growth.

• The love of God cannot be humanly produced and those that exhibit this uniquely divine love are a living testimony that they have been born-again - for the one that does not love as God loves, does not know God - for God is love.

• May we live a life that is so Christ-focussed that we become a practical outworking of the doctrine we have learned and a living testimony to the God we serve.

• We may face injustice in this world as the enemy of our soul seeks to discredit our testimony, discourage our hearts, and destroy our faith, but Jesus has promised never to leave us and to be with us whatever betides.

• What a wonderful testimony we have from this man that was blind: One thing I know, once I was blind but now I see. This man offers a clear undeniable witness to the truth.
• They questioned the man about his healing testimony; they cross-questioned his parents in an attempt to deny his blindness; then they called the man again for additional questioning.

• But as much as we rejoice that all good things come from God and delight to quote this verse as an encouragement to one another and as a testimony to God's gracious provision, it is important to read this verse in its correct context and discover why Paul gave this great promise of abundant supply to his readers.

• They will be victorious through of the word of their testimony, because they did not love their life, even when faced with death.

• Just as his life was a living testimony of a godly life, so Paul's teachings are to remain as a benchmark for godly living and sound doctrine.

• The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.

• While Timothy appears to have been a quiet, unassuming young man, he was nonetheless a stalwart in the faith for he gave a bold and beautiful testimony before many witnesses.
• And like Him, our life is to be a testimony to His faithfulness – for it is as we run the race that is set before us, with patient endurance and a determination to do all to the glory of God, that we will also fight the good fight of faith and take hold of the eternal life to which we are all called – so that with Timothy and a great cloud of saints, we too may ensure a good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

• Doubting God's Word resulted in a rebellious generation, with a tarnished testimony that did not fulfil their mission and brought dishonour to their Redeemer Who brought them out of slavery.
• May we take great care we do not allow unbelief to tarnish our testimony, destroy our reward, and dishonour our God.

• They wilfully ignore the clear evidence of His almighty power, which is displayed in the heavens above, and they refuse to acknowledge the clear testimony on the earth below.

• Paul warns that such rites, rules, rituals, and regulations, are human commands, man-made doctrines, and deceptive arguments, designed by the enemy to neutralise our faith, entice us away from the truth of the glorious gospel of grace, destroy our testimony, and dishonour the Lord Jesus.

• In a few short verses, we are shown how quickly a believer can leave their first love, lose their heavenly reward, destroy their Christian testimony, and place themselves out of fellowship with their Father in heaven.

• There are certain characteristics and identifying marks of the believer who is walking in spirit and truth, and a changed life that is exercising the gifts of the Spirit and producing the fruit of holiness, is a testimony of the inner workings of the Holy Spirit of Christ which is transferred into the outward actions of the individual life.

• A grateful heart that is filled with heavenly thanks and praise to God, is a heart that is ready and prepared to have the peace of Christ stream into their inner being and flow out to others as a testimony of praise to our heavenly Father.

• What a wonderful testimony of these dear saints of God, and what an encouragement to us to boldly proclaim the glorious gospel of Christ, which is the power of God unto salvation for all who believe.

• And He also said: Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My Word, and believes Him who sent Me, HAS eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but HAS passed out of death into life. And John the beloved apostle gave testimony: God HAS given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.

• Before his death, king David had charged his son to walk in God's ways and to keep His statutes, commandments, feasts, ordinances, and testimonies.
• Solomon did many wonderful things for the Lord, including the building of the House of God, but his witness was smeared by many foolish choices, when he strayed from walking in God's ways and did not keep His statutes, commandments, feasts, ordinances, and testimonies.
• In this dispensation of grace, we may not be under the Mosaic Law or required to keep the statutes, commandments, feasts, ordinances, and testimonies given to Israel, but we have the Word of God which instructs us on holy living, walking in spirit and truth, abiding in Christ, and growing in grace.

• The armies of heaven were at His disposal, but He could never respond to the jeering crowd that taunted, If you are the Son of God, come down from the cross and save Yourself, for to do so would have shut the door to paradise for everyone and slammed closed the gates of heaven forever, with no hope for mankind in the world.The mocking hatred of the crowds, the spurious lies of the leaders, the twisted testimony of the false witnesses, and the foul deeds of the Roman soldiers, were amplified with the reviling sneers of the two criminals who were crucified alongside Jesus, until one was deeply convicted and recognised the King that was staked at his side.

• He demonstrated a depth of forgiving love that passes our understanding.There was no resentment or anger, no bitterness, no feelings of hostility or damaged pride in this statement, but it encapsulated a depth of divine forgiveness that was able to lovingly embrace the crude Roman soldiers that greedily envied His bloodied garment and cast lots for his seamless cloak.It included the governor and his cowardly compromise, and it encompassed the false witnesses with their fabricated allegations and false testimony.

• The first and most important thing on the mind of Paul was thanksgiving for the faith these believers had in the Lord Jesus, because testimony of their trust in God had reached to the farthest extremity of the known world.

• But now that we have been saved by grace through faith in Christ, we are children of the light who are to have no part in ungodly behaviour, for to do so not only dishonours the name of the Lord Jesus but it also shipwrecks our Christian testimony.

• Faith in our Heavenly Father and love for His beloved Son is our eternal protection, both inwardly and outwardly, while the blessed hope we have in our salvation will guard our minds from the wiles of the evil one who would seek to flood us with fear, ship-wreck our mission and ministry, and destroy our testimony, through worry of what is coming on the world.

• And the life of Christ gave undeniable testimony of His eternal origin and equality with the Father.
• First, He called on the testimony of John the Baptist, who had declared: This is the Son of God Who takes away the sin of the world.
• The Scripture from start to finish is a witness and a testimony that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, manifest in the flesh as the perfect Son of Man, for these are they which testify to the truth of His claims, and in Whom are the words of eternal life.

• The enemy of our soul may not be in a position to remove or invalidate our eternal salvation which is ours is by grace through faith in Christ, but he comes as a roaring lion to tear our testimony to shreds, and also as an angel of light peddling many deceitful tactics and subtle deceptions, to cause us to stumble and render our testimony null and void.
• These warnings are given to Christians in this Church age, and any one of them can have a devastating effect on our spiritual growth and Christian testimony.

• He wanted them all to have a good testimony, that identified them as servants of God.

• What a joy to discover that God will use every situation in the life of everyone who is willing to die to self and live for Him, as a testimony to others that we are in Christ's and that He is in us, so that like Paul our lives show evidence that we are being used for the furtherance of the gospel, to His praise and glory.
• Paul used his own distressing circumstances as a testimony that God is able and willing to bring beauty out of our own brokenness so that hope will blossom in our personal helplessness.

• The washing of the body through water baptism is a simple sign and lovely testimony of the inward cleansing of the heart that took place when a man or woman was redeemed by faith in Christ.

• The Word of God is the sure testimony of the reliability of the gospel message of salvation, for the Word of God is steadfast and sure.

• The shedding of innocent blood covered Abel's sin, but the basket of fruit, the work of Cain's hand, could never cover sin - and so Abel obtained the testimony that he was righteous – for the righteous live by faith.

• It is easy to look away from the Lord towards the blackening storm-clouds of life and the tumultuous waves of discontent, that are designed to shipwreck our testimony and set us adrift from the Anchor of our soul, but James encourages us to keep our eyes on Jesus, and reminds us in this verse: The one who looks intently at the perfect law of liberty (which is already ours in Christ) and abides by it, will be blessed in what he does.
• We can become forgetful hearers, powerless in our ministry, and ineffective in our testimony, if we do not take this warning to heart.

• It was a testimony of someone's faith in Israel's Messiah.

• They are called a great cloud of witnesses, and indeed their lives demonstrate a trust in God that stands as a wonderful testimony to the faithfulness of God in their lives, and a great encouragement for us to run the race that lies before us, and press on for the high call of God as we look to Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith Who endured the Cross for our sake: Therefore, we are exhorted, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.
• Despite the many trials and tribulations they were called upon to face, these men and women obtained a good testimony through faith.
• When seeds of doubt are allowed to take root and flourish, it renders us impotent in our Christian walk and taints our testimony.

• They want to dilute our faith and encourage us to compromise the truth of the gospel of grace with a watered-down gospel that dishonours God and causes our testimony to be destroyed.

• Christ is the true Light of the World, but we who have received His new-life have been entrusted to carry the testimony of His light, His life, and His love into a darkened world, and He has commanded us to live out our lives in a manner that is well-pleasing to Him.

• Opposition to the Word of truth and the testimony of God is as old as the hills, and hostility toward the Christian faith, the Church of God, and the truth of the glorious gospel of grace, continues to rumble around the globe today and ravage many ministries, just as it did when Moses led the children of Israel out of Egypt.

• BUT He also said that the good news of the kingdom would be proclaimed in all the world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end would come.

• Beginning with Moses and all the prophets, these sacred writings, which were inspired by God's Holy Spirit, are the most compelling testimony to the deity of Christ and His redeeming role - for all with eyes to see.

• Their testimony was to start in Jerusalem and spread out from that point.

• Our very lives will stand as a sure testimony of God’s great goodness, and we will remain a never-ending tribute of God’s grace and kindness towards us in Christ Jesus: So that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ.

• What an amazing and encouraging testimony of the God we serve.

• The fool who refuses to confess an eternal Creator, is prepared to dismiss the evidence that is encapsulated in the vast heavenly testimony of the starry heavens above with the warming, life-giving properties of the sun and the rejuvenating and invigorating coolness of a moonlit sky.
• The testimony and truth of God is also recorded in His written Word, and clearly outlines His gracious redemptive plans and eternal purposes for the salvation of fallen man.

• Because of their inattention to the truth, willingness to embrace false teachers, internal bickering, and sexual impurities, the carnal attitude and worldly behaviour of the Corinthians had sullied their testimony and caused them to be tossed about by every wind of doctrine.
• Paul found it necessary to use strong and expressive language to call his fellow believers to act as true ambassadors of Christ, to be a testimony to the world, and to evangelise the lost.
• He was encouraging us to behave as ambassadors of Christ and to shun any relationship that could draw us into spiritual defilement or tarnish our testimony.

• What a testimony to the faithful foundational work of Lois and Eunice who knew the value of bringing up children in the ways of the Lord so that when they are grown-up, they will not depart from it.

• But at the mid-point of the 7-year Tribulation, the testimony of these two witnesses will end when the beast emerges from the abyss to make war with them, overcome them, and kill them.

• One very telling testimony of God working through Paul's ministry is encapsulated in a simple sentence he wrote in his letter to the Philippians: All the saints in Rome, and especially those from the house of Caesar (Paul's prison guards) salute you.

• The pin-point accuracy of fulfilled prophecy is an amazing testimony to the authority and truth of Scripture, which rejoices the heart and legitimises its content.
• And similarly, it has continued to be a great encouragement and testimony for the people of God to identify the fulfilment of these... and numerous other biblical prophecies - many of which culminated in the first coming of Christ Who Himself is the personification and spirit of prophecy.

• The many precious privileges we have in Christ and the supernatural power of the indwelling Holy Spirit should embolden, rather than deter, our Christian testimony, which is why Paul exhorted Timothy in this verse: Do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord Jesus Christ... and do not be ashamed of me because I am His prisoner in chains.
• Firstly, he was not to be ashamed of: The testimony of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the glorious gospel of salvation by grace through our faith in Jesus.
• We are to rejoice that we have a holy calling and have been saved for a purpose: to share the testimony of Christ Who died and rose again for us.
• May we never be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord Jesus Christ, nor shrink away from the blows and battering we receive for His name's sake.

• But John also understood that the devil will often approach us as an angel of light and attempt to trick us into believing a false gospel; to trip us up with trickery, and to shipwreck our testimony to others.
• If we leave our first love, grow weary of well-doing, fall into legalism, compromise the truth, become lukewarm in our faith, or allow false doctrine to shipwreck our testimony, we will not lose our salvation, but we will forfeit any rewards that God has prepared for us to do.

• The work that God has done in each of our lives is going to be used by the Father as an everlasting testimony of His goodness and grace towards the children of men.

• He had to bear the false accusation, evil plots, false testimonies, and cruel death.
• They too would endure false accusations, evil plots, false testimonies, and cruel deaths.

• We read that Paul thanked God for the grace of God which had been given to each one, and for their testimony of Christ: So that you are not lacking in any spiritual gift, and are eagerly awaiting the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ.

• What a testimony of David's dependence on the Lord that according to Jedudthun, one of the king's chief musical directors in Israel, David in the midst of profound difficulty and distress waited in quiet confidence on the Lord his God.

• The enemy often uses false teachings, demonic doctrines, a love of the world, sexual impurity, and a compromise of the truth to ruin the testimony of a child of God.

• We thank God for the witness and testimony of John and Christ's other holy apostles and prophets who testified to truth and proclaimed the glorious gospel of Christ Who is the only Way to God, the only Truth that stands fast for ever and ever, the only Life that is eternal and abundant, and the only Light of the world, in Whom is no darkness at all.

• The fool has said in his heart, 'There is no God,' despite the declaration of His mighty power from the heavens above and the powerful testimony of the earth beneath.
• But evidence of God is also announced through the inner conscience of man, and together with the written Word of God, clear testimony is given to every man of the undeniable truth that: In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth, by the power of His Word.

• This is indeed a great commendation of Timothy, but what a sad testimony of those that placed their own interests above those of the Lord Jesus.

• What a testimony to the terrible gravity of sin.

• How foolish to allow discouragement to adversely influence our Christian testimony.

• We are exhorted to die to self, walk by faith, and live a holy life of self-sacrifice and praise as a testimony to the truth of God's Word - which is well-pleasing to our Heavenly Father.

• Having rejected: 1) The prophetic warning of John the Baptist to turn from their sins and produce righteous fruit. 2) The heavenly witness of the Father and the Spirit at His baptism. 3) The undeniable testimony of His messianic signs as proof of His heavenly calling, the leadership of Israel were further berated by Christ.

• He explained that the Church should be a living testimony to the world, a living proof of the gospel of Christ and the goodness of God.
• Living godly lives should act as a testimony to the truth of the gospel of grace.

• On that day, we read that all believing Israel will be saved and in this passage, Isaiah gives an amazing testimony of that still-future time.

• The foolish chorus of prideful, unregenerate man declares that there is no God and denies the irrefutable testimony of the created universe and the inner witness of their own God-given consciences.
• How astonishing that the fool continues to deny the existence of the Lord, despite the external testimony of nature, the inner witness of our conscience, and the written Word of God.

• But Paul in this verse clearly demonstrated God's method of doing things, when he wrote: I came to you, brothers, announcing the testimony of God to you, I did not come with brilliance of speech or wisdom.

• And yet, this verse seems to contradict the clear testimony of the Bible that salvation is solely by believing faith.

• It records the prophecy of Simeon and the testimony of Anna, the old prophetess, and allows us glimpses into His life in Nazareth, His extraordinary visit to the Temple at the age of 12, and the many silent years He spent as a young carpenter when: Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.
• Simeon's prophetic declaration and the wise words of Anna, help us to understand that the baby they saw was unique and special in so many ways, for He was identified as: The salvation of God, and A Light to lighten the Gentiles and the glory of Thy people, Israel. Their testimonies also help us to understand the privilege and peculiar responsibility that God entrusted to His parents.

• The spiritual growth and maturity of these believers who were living in the hub of the Roman empire, was a tremendous testimony to their spiritual growth which caused Paul's heart to rejoice over them with great joy.

• But we are called to test the spirits to see if they are of God and the spiritual gifts we receive from the Lord must be used correctly and administered according to Biblical principles, for we can dishonour the Lord and discredit our testimony if they are administered selfishly, incorrectly, or inappropriately.

• Timothy had shown himself approved unto God, and Paul wanted him to be a bold and very courageous testimony to the truth, and to keep on sharing the good news of the gospel of God, and Jesus Christ His only begotten Son.

• And over many centuries, holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit, to give testimony of the coming Messiah; Jesus Christ the righteous, heir of all things, and through Whom the world was created.

• It was the Lord Jesus who explained that the evil words which come out of our mouths have deep roots in our inner heart: For out of the heart come evil thoughts like murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony and slander.

• His wife was a very materialistic woman and no doubt her unspiritual attitude and selfish behaviour had a demoralising effect on Lot, but his suggestion to give his virgin daughters to the marauding crown of sexually perverted men, is a testimony to the depth of ungodliness to which this wretched and unprincipled believer had fallen.

• Praise God for our great salvation, for ... all the prophets bear testimony, that whoever believes on Him shall receive remission of sins, through His name.

• It gives testimony of the spiritual sphere.

• John the Baptist was God's chosen forerunner for the Messiah, and in this chapter, the apostle John makes reference to the Baptist's testimony.

• However, in the midst of the Great Tribulation and facing fierce oppression, they believed God's Word, trusted Christ as Saviour, and overcame the enemy by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony... and their faith was credited to them as righteousness. 

• Despite the testimony of John the Baptist, which announced the arrival of Israel's Messiah-King, and the many signs and wonders that Jesus performed during His earthly ministry, we read that the Lord Jesus was despised and rejected by the religious leaders of His day.
• In spite of His own gracious words, His miraculous works, and His supernatural testimony, the Son of God was falsely accused of blasphemy, unjustly condemned to die, and cruelly crucified on a Roman cross.
• Why did these learned men dismiss the supernatural testimony of the shepherds who had hurried to Bethlehem to see this wonderful thing that had come to pass, which the Lord has made known to them... and why did they dismiss this serious inquiry of the wise old sages from the east who had travelled a great distance to witness the fulfilment of an ancient prophecy, from Israel's own sacred Scripture?
• So WHY did these religious priests and Pharisees ignore the shepherd's testimony, the inquiry of the wise men, the fulfilment of Micah's prophecy, the proclamations of Zechariah, the songs of Simeon, the old priest, and Anna, the aged widow woman... both of whom rejoiced publicly and took the baby Jesus in their arms and blessed Him at His dedication service in the Temple of God?

• Despite the testimony of the prophet John who condemned them as a 'brood of religious vipers' who refused to heed God's call and repent of their sin, the generation who heard Christ's teaching were spiritually ignorant.

• What a privilege to know that we will bear testimony to God's amazing grace in the eternal ages to come.

• From the start of Christ's ministry, the scribes and Pharisees resented His unorthodox teaching and heavenly testimony, which laid claims to His being the incarnate Son of God Who came to earth from heaven as the anointed Messiah of Israel.
• Indeed, He pointed out that God the Father had sent Him into the world from His home in heaven and that the combined testimonies of God the Father and God the Son, should satisfy their curiosity and concerns.
• But they were so keen to demolish Christ's teaching and testimony, that they missed the heavenly Lord of life Who holds the keys of death and hell.

• We read: The testimony of Christ is the spirit of prophecy, but still only part of Joel's prophesy was fulfilled at this time.

• Throughout Scripture, the right hand of God is the place of heavenly authority and sovereign power, and the Bible bears abundant testimony that the Lord Jesus Christ has been given this place of universal supremacy.

• There continues to be much persecution in the Church today and although the methods of torture may differ, the aim is to shipwreck the faith of the saints and render their testimony impotent.

• One of the things that Christ explained would happen, would be that the gospel of the kingdom, which both John the Baptist and Christ Himself had been preaching for 3 years, would once again be the message that Israel would preach throughout the whole world as a testimony to all the nations; and then the end would come, when Jesus would return in power and great glory to set up His earthly kingdom in Jerusalem.
• This gospel of the kingdom will be preached by Jewish evangelists throughout all the world as a witness and testimony to all the nations that Jesus Christ Whom they crucified, is both LORD and CHRIST.

• The testimony of Christ was not to be silenced by the Cross, for the Church was to become the channel through whom the truth of the gospel of grace was to be spread throughout the world during this Church age.
• As members of the Body of Christ, let us remain faithful to the witness and testimony of the gospel of Christ Who said, I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life, no man cometh to the Father, but by Me.

• By God's sufficient grace, Stephen pleaded for the forgiveness of his murderers, Lord, do not hold this sin against them. It appears likely that Stephen's murder completed mankind's rejection of the Triune Godhead - rejection of the Father, rejection of the Son, and now... rejection of the Holy Spirit in Stephen's testimony... and yet in His grace, the Holy Spirit of God continues to convict fallen man of sin, righteousness, and judgement - such that whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

• May we give encouragement to the saints and be a faithful servant of our heavenly Lord in our own sphere of life, and may we honour Him in the lives we live as did the testimony of these three men in their various ministries; Paul the apostle, Timothy the pastor, and Onesiphorus, the 'Bringer of Help'.

• The Gentiles refused to acknowledge the Lord despite the glorious testimony of His magnificent creation and in spite of the inner witness of their own God-given consciences, for man was created with a mind to think, a free-will to choose, and a conscience with which to inform his decisions.

• Other eldership qualities in Paul's list include being gentle in disposition, gracious in demeanour, and living a life that is a good testimony to Christ, and one that honours His name.
• And may each of our lives be honouring to the Lord, Who died to pay the price for our sins, so that we may become a living testimony of God's saving grace and sufficient strength to all with whom we come in contact.

• Christ's clear command to all sinners is to believe His heavenly testimony: For whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life, and will not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.

• But humanity turned their back on their Creator and ignored or refused this unprecedented testimony.
• Sadly, many have chosen to use their mind, will, and emotion to disbelieve the clear evidences of His internal witness and external testimony: Those who believe are not condemned, but those who do not believe are condemned already, because they have not believed in the only begotten son of God.

• The expansive testimony of the heavens above and the inner witness of his God-given conscience, convicted Paul of his need of salvation, and enabled his blinded eyes to be opened to the truth of the glorious gospel of grace.

• His life was a testimony that delighted to do the will of the Father, for God's Law was treasured in His heart.

• They overcame him because of the word of their testimony.
• Victory for them and for us is secure in the testimony of Christ.
• Strength is of Christ, for His is the faithful testimony, the glorious gospel of grace. 

• They will overcome evil by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony.

• This old prophet was preparing to hand the reins of leadership to Joshua and so he made an appeal to the heavens and earth to bear witness to his testimony as he renewed the terms of the covenant with the people while giving honour to the Lord their God, ascribing greatness to His holy name. 

• Each one compromised their testimony by doing things in their lives that dishonoured God.

• And so the fool has said in his heart, 'there is no God', despite God's clear testimony - in nature, in our consciences, through the witness of others, and throughout the Word of Truth.

• It contains a testimony that God is faithful to His people and to those who put their trust in Him, and it also gives the most comprehensive prophetic timeline of God's full and final victory over Satan's illegitimate earthly rule.

• Daniel's calm and wise action when faced with this life threatening situation, and the wise way he dealt with this serious crisis in Babylon was a demonstration of his character and a testimony to his unwavering faith in God.

• While the beloved apostle rejoiced greatly about Gaius' faithful work, his sincere testimony to the truth, and the love, friendship, and grace he demonstrated to his Christian brothers and sisters, John needed to warn him about men like Diotrephes, and to exhort him not to follow his ungodly ways and teach him the godly way to live: Beloved, John wrote to Gaius, do not imitate what is evil, but what is good.

• From the very first verse in Matthew's Gospel to the closing statement in John's Apocalypse, the focal figure of the New Testament is Jesus Christ... and the thrilling testimony is salvation by grace through faith to all who believe.

• The entire company heard the last will and testimony from their father's own lips: The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor the ruler's staff from between his feet, until Shiloh comes; and to Him shall be the obedience of the peoples.

• Let us die to self and live our life to the glory of God so that we may mature in the faith, grow in grace, live a spiritual, God-honouring life, and become a living testimony to the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.

• We are to be faithful in every circumstance of life so that God is honoured through our testimony.

• How sad when a Christian life is marred by wrong speech, and a godly testimony is stained by gossip, talebearing, whispering, slander, grumbling, or false accusations, all of which give rise to discord among brothers; contention, brawling, dissension, dispute, and argument.

• Caiaphas grew increasingly irritated and baffled by Christ's lack of response to the many false witnesses and their compromised testimonies.

• The New Covenant is not one based on the original 'Letter' of the first covenant, but on the 'Spirit' of the second testimony: Not of the 'Letter of the Law', which kills, but of the 'Spirit of God, in Christ' Who gives life to all who believe.

• The Law demanded the testimony from two witnesses to condemn a criminal, and so: The chief priests and the whole Council kept trying to obtain false testimonies against Jesus, so that they might put Him to death. There were many false witnesses who were hurriedly assembled to spew out their verbal poison against the innocent Son of God, but their accusations conflicted with each other.
• However, they managed to find two who gave the same, inaccurate testimony of what Jesus said: I am able to destroy this temple and rebuild it in three days.
• Despite the many false accusations, blatant lies, and inconsistent testimonies against Him, Jesus kept silent and did not open His mouth.

• Much time had passed since that meeting with Jesus on the Damascus road, but the testimony of his conversion to Christianity was told on many occasions, and in Acts 26 this champion of the faith was to once again share his supernatural encounter with some high-ranking Gentile officials.
• When speaking to Jews, Paul used the Law and Prophets to explain the truth and when addressing Gentiles, he drew from his own testimony, as well as Gentile customs.

• He was chosen before he was born to be God's witness and testimony to the authenticity and authority of Christ's sovereign role as Light of the world.

• They did not question John about the Lord Jesus, even though he had given such a stunning testimony about Him.

• Someone who has been saved by grace through faith in Christ whose life is not a testimony of the truth (though they are eternally saved and secure in Christ because of their faith in Him), will live a defeated life and dishonour the Lord Who bought them.

• They are not walking in spirit and truth, but living a fruitless and useless life that is a poor testimony and dishonours the Lord Who bought them.

• Similarly when attesting to His God-given authority, they challenged His personal testimony, refusing to believe His words and witness.
• The Law indicated that by the mouth of two witnesses a testimony was validated, but these arrogant Jews refused His own, personal witness and ridiculed the second Testifier He presented to them: His heavenly Father.
• I wonder if any of those foolish men who rejected the witness and testimony of the Lord Jesus Christ and His heavenly Father during those days of His earthly sojourn, ever placed their faith in Christ.

• Others were involved in internal squabbles, which resulted in disorderly meetings and presented a poor testimony to unbelievers in the city. Pagan courts were being used by Christians to sue a brother in Christ!

• Our suffering becomes a testimony of the hope of salvation we have in Christ Jesus, and the peace that comes through faith in Him.

• Throughout the history of mankind, all have received testimony to the glory of God through the witness of creation and the inner testimony of our God-given consciences, as well as the holy scriptures.
• Gentiles will be judged by their inner conscience and the outer testimony of God's creation and will be found guilty.

• In presenting the evidence in this judicial tribunal, Paul was relating his personal testimony.
• Paul's personal testimony is indeed compelling, for in one moment his entire belief system had been challenged.
• But we do know Paul was a faithful servant of the Lord and his ministry, and that his testimony had far-reaching effects in the spread of the gospel.

• Each Person of the Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, bear record in heaven of the truth of God's Word, which is the will and testimony concerning the incarnate Son of God.

• They did not trust the testimony of Almighty God.
• Let us trust God's testimony about His only begotten Son.

• This verse is also a lovely testimony of Philemon's developing Christian character, for news had reached the apostle's ears that other believers were being refreshed through Philemon's ministry.

• But the rebellious hearts that withstand the testimony of these two witnesses and who rejoice when they are finally murdered by the Antichrist, will testify to their defiant disobedience to God's sovereign will.

• And whether they are convicted by it or ignore its testimony by wilfully suppressing its condemnation, all stand guilty before a holy God, for all have sinned and all fall short of His righteous standard.

• Also, the testimony of Romans soldiers who declared Him to be the Son of God, were no doubt being spread abroad.

• What a great testimony to the grace of God and the power of Christ, which is made perfect in our weaknesses.

• Let us put on the whole armour of God to protect us from the external influences of the enemy of our soul, so he will not be able to destroy our testimony or cause us to stumble.

• But people are not saved by beautiful testimonies, but by coming to Jesus and trusting Him as Saviour.
• It is good to hear the testimony of others and the wonderful way that the Lord has worked in their lives – but remember that testimonies, sermons, and devotionals are always second hand.

• However, we are not instructed to judge the thoughts, hearts, motives, and behaviour of others, as it degrades our own testimony and dishonours the Lord Who is the only one worthy to judge the thoughts of the heart and the actions of a man.

• Temptations and fiery trials, tribulation and stormy seas, irritation and deep disappointment, persecution and various people, will be used by the enemy to burn our soul and shipwreck our testimony.

• The endurance they displayed in the midst of reprehensible oppression and numerous trials, was a testimony to their patience, perseverance, and faith.

• The blessing Isaac would bestow on Jacob would be a double portion of his father's wealth as well as being given the coveted position as head of the family - but the deceptive manner in which the blessing was stolen would be recorded in Scripture as a testimony to Jacob's carnality and lack of faith.

• What a great testimony to all believers down through the centuries who have read the epistle to the Philippians.

• We are at war with an evil, spiritual enemy, where the invisible rulers of darkness and wicked spiritual beings who inhabit high places, are hell-bent on ruining the lives of multitudes and shipwrecking the testimony of Christians, in defiance of God Almighty.

• David, the psalmist of Israel who penned these beautiful words, faced tremendous hardship and deep troubles, but the testimony of his life was that He looked back and recounted the compassion and grace that the Lord expressed towards His people, and he looked forward to the coming prophesied Redeemer Who was to personify the over-abounding loving-kindness and tender mercies to all His people.

• The enemy of God is the same evil one that comes to steal our peace, kill our hope, accuse the saints, and destroy our testimony.

• I will bless the Lord at all times, was David's grateful testimony of his deliverance.

• They refused to believe His testimony and even had Him crucified on a Roman cross.

• For the third time, Divine testimony was given to authenticate Christ's Messianic ministry. I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.

• But having lived a perfect life that was not deserving of death, God raised Him from the dead and highly exalted Him so that all who believe on Him would not perish but have life - eternal life - His resurrected life within - His new born-again life: And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

• After me comes a Man who has a higher rank than I, was John's testimony of Jesus, for He existed before me and I am not sufficiently worthy to untie His shoe laces.

• Too often, we look at the great power with which the apostles in the early Church gave testimony of the Lord Jesus Christ and the abundant grace which they received from God in their powerful witness, and bemoan the fact that this is no longer the case today.
• So what was so different about the inspiring testimony of the early Church, compared with the ineffectiveness of present-day believers?
• But one vital element is that the early Church delivered a powerful testimony of the Resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.
• Their testimony included Christ's absolute sovereignty, proof of their divine authority, the immense power of God, and their proclamation of the glorious gospel.
• May our testimony for the Lord reflect the same confidence in Christ as we boldly proclaim the good news of the death, burial, and Resurrection of our God and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

• We are to refuse that fleshly fancy and resist the devil and all his devious schemes, designed to coax us into a multiplicity of sinful activities that would discredit our testimony and dishonour our God.

• To honour One without honouring the Other is a biblical impossibility, and anyone who claims to know or reverence the Father without giving co-equal glory and respect to the Son, can only be branded a deceiver and a liar whose testimony is false.

• The distress that David is going through often translates into the deep darkness that floods into our heart, as the Accuser of our soul seeks to destroy our testimony, shipwreck our lives, drown us in sorrow, and batter us with bitter whirlwinds that whip up the tides of discontent.

• Surely the testimony of Paul must be one of the most comforting truths for every sinner.

• Paul knew that a diet of false teaching could only be corrected if believers were firmly grounded on the true testimony of his gospel, which was given by Christ to Paul for our learning.
• The testimony that was give to Paul is true.

• His second account is in chapter 22, where he presented his testimony to the Jewish leaders.

• To seek to be justified, sanctified, glorified, or gain entrance to heaven other than through the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, is to render His perfect sacrificial offering as irrelevant, or as Paul stated, You are severed from Christ... and you fall away from grace. You are still saved by faith, but have destroyed your earthly testimony.

• We overcome because of the testimony of our FAITH in Him.

• Today, we are hindered by our fallen sin nature which tries to govern our heart, impede our spiritual progress, destroy our testimony, and prevent us from maturing in the Christian faith.

• False witnesses were found who made up charges against Him, but the allegations of His accusers conflicted with one another, their testimony was discredited, and no fault was found in the holy Lamb of God Who came to take away the sin of the world.

• Our words and actions should become a living testimony of a pure heart that is clothed with Christ no matter where we are or who we are with, so that others may see our good works and glorify our Father in heaven.

• Paul wanted to ensure that this young pastor stood firm on the Word of truth, and that he presented a good testimony of God's grace in his own life, while encouraging others to live righteously as well.

• Today, let us actively put on Christ so that we may passively abide in Him so that with Paul, we may confidently know that the testimony of our conscience is that we are daily conducting ourselves towards men and God with sincerity and purity, not by the fleshly wisdom of the world, but by the grace of God.

• The whole glorious plan of salvation, which was purposed before the foundation of the world, is a testimony to the grace of our Heavenly Father and His amazing love for each one of us.

• Jewish dissatisfaction with Christ's claim - that He had come from heaven and had been sent from God the Father, turned into an open challenge that questioned Christ's own testimony as being grossly biased and legally insufficient.
• Despite Christ being God in the flesh and incarnate truth, these legalists used the Jewish Law, given to Moses, in their attempt to 'legitimately' challenge Christ's own personal testimony.
• But Christ's testimony was also confirmed at His own baptism, by God the Father Himself... when He spoke from heaven and said, this is My beloved Son in Whom I am well pleased, and the Holy Spirit, in the form of a dove, also gave witness of Christ... when He came and rested upon Him on that special, baptismal day.
• But all His testimonies were refused by these proud people - for their eyes were blinded to the truth .
• They knew that whichever of the two answers He gave, could be used to invalidate His own testimony and render Him as a liar before man and a blasphemer of God!
• The lengths to which the Jewish establishment went, in order to condemn Christ's testimony that He came from heaven from God, were unprecedented - but Christ's inspired answer silenced their foolish opposition, let the one who is without sin cast the first stone.
• He is the eternal God and the sinners' Saviour and no matter how the Scribes and Pharisees sought to discredit Him, His testimony was true.
• Christ's testimony is still true today and His testimony will remain true forever.
• There was no greater witness to silence these proud and foolish Pharisees regarding Christ's claims to Deity than the combined testimony of God the Son and God the Father.
• He came as the Jewish Messiah and they refused to accept His testimony.
• There are many proud and foolish people today that continue to seek to discredit the testimony of the eternal Son of God and the inspired Word of God.

• With the King's arrival and the authentic testimony of His Messianic claims, the Lord Jesus set about detailing the necessary requirements to enter His coming kingdom and the blessings that would be extended to His subjects.

• We are to be a living sacrifice: holy to the Lord and a testimony to the veracity of the gospel.
• We are to be ready to give an answer for the faith we have in Christ, for who knows when God will use us as a witness to His Word as a testimony to the truth.

• Many in the Church were demonstrating spiritual immaturity and worldly carnality, which conflicted with the truth that Paul had already taught them earlier, and made a mockery of their Christian testimony.

• Each blossom speaks of His artistry, every bird gives testimony of His care, and every step we take and each breath we draw, proclaims His gracious, sustaining power.
