• Job even asks the question, How then can man  be righteous before God – How can he be pure who is born of a woman?

• Righteousness Dress For the best of human righteousness is as filth to Him, and the kindest of human acts remain in the pits of slime in God’s eyes. Nothing we do of ourselves is satisfying to Him. Holy God points an accusing finger at sinful man and proclaims, CONDEMNED.  'Change me', I cry in despair, “Not so”, the Lord replies, 'Can a leopard change its spots', He declares,  'Can the Ethiopian change his skin', He proclaims. 'Can a sinner change himself into a saint?'. ”Never declares the Lord!” But the gospel makes an announcement of righteous dress..  adequate in the sight of a holy God, whose eyes are as a flame of fire – acceptable to the most pure eyes of the sinless Lord of Righteousness.
• God’s  Righteousness The righteousness which is of God is pure; the righteousness which is of God is holy; the righteousness which is of God is glorious; the righteousness which is of God is beautiful; the righteousness which is of God is acceptable; the righteousness which is of God is mine by faith – the righteousness, which is of God, is become my glorious garment. 'Change me', I cry in despair 'Not so', says the Lord, 'but I will exchange your ugliness, for My beauty', and 'I will exchange your filthy rags for my glorious garment.

• Christian Call Being a believer in the Lord Jesus is not a popular calling. The true Christian soon discovers his lot is no easy option, for Christ was crucified by the world, and the world loves the Lord of Life no more today than it did 2000 years ago. His pure standards are different and shunned by the masses. His Godly objectives are counter to the self-seeking nature, and despised – despised and rejected of men, and so He became acquainted with grief. While men of the world serve themselves and please their selfish selves.

• What is man that he could be pure?

• Profound Statement Oh what glorious and profound statements and yet, what an announcement of pure, divine simplicity.

• We may not understand why we experience certain problems and pain in our lives, but if we are willing to submit to His chastening hand and trust in the LORD with all our heart, even when we don't understand, we will discover that when he has tried us, we will come forth as pure gold; for our eternal benefit and His greater praise and glory.

• Peter wanted them, and us, and all who believe the truth of the gospel, to keep our hearts pure and to obey Christ's own command to love others as Christ loves us, to develop a sincere love of the brethren, to fervently love one another from the inner depths of our hearts, and not to love with a hypocritical heart or insincerity of spirit.

• Such men would draw others away from the pure gospel of grace which Paul himself had received by direct revelation from the Lord Jesus.
• As the Church grew, false teachers often incorporated myths, 'old wives' tales', and 'endless genealogies' into the pure gospel of Christ, distorting the truth while promoting empty speculations and foolish imaginings.

• We are all familiar with the parable of the sower, where the good seed represents the pure Word of God which is being sown throughout the world, together with the four different types of soil symbolising the different responses from those that hear the gospel.

• It is by walking in spirit and truth, applying God's Word in our lives, worshipping Him in the beauty of holiness, and trusting His living Word, that keeps us pure and prevent us from gratifying the evil desires of the flesh.

• This caused foolish controversies about genealogies, and disputes about the Mosaic Law to develop – which were unprofitable and worthless, because the consequence was 'divide-and-conquer'.Today, we see an increasing propensity towards this evil strategy, not only in the world of governmental economics, politics, social and religious platforms, but also within the very Body of Christ, which should remain pure in heart and united in the Spirit.Sadly, inter-denominational feuds, doctrinal differences, and a willingness to compromise the truth of the gospel, is causing the Church to become fractured and weakened.

• Today as in times past, men and women hunger for satisfaction now, rather than thirsting after the pure milk of the Word of God and yearning for the spiritual meat that is packed to overflowing within the pages of holy Scripture.

• Should not we ensure that our bodies are set apart for God and kept pure in this increasingly ungodly world?

• In like manner, the faith of a Christian needs to be pure, unblemished, and perfect, and the trials of life are designed to purify our hearts, increase our dependence upon the Lord Jesus, deepen our love for our Saviour, enrich our spiritual lives, strengthen our hope in His many precious promises, and increase our faith in the Word of God.

• Verse 26: Evil plans are an abomination to the Lord, but pleasant words are pure.

• For the law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple; the statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes; the fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever; and the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.
• Words of worship that flow from a proud, rebellious, or unrepentant heart, are like an open sewer to the Lord, but worshipful words that flow from a life that is pure in thought and motive, word and deed, ascend to the Father as a sweet perfume.

• As the second member of the Triune Godhead, Jesus was the exact image and pure representation of His Heavenly Father, while being clothed in human flesh.
• Being the radiance of God's eternal glory and the exact representation of His Father's perfect essence, the Lord Jesus was the visible representation of the invisible God, and not only did He come to die for our sin but He also came to show us the perfect nature and pure attributes of His Father in heaven.
• The spiritual unity that prevailed between the Lord Jesus and His Father was so magnificent and pure that He could legitimately claim, I and My Father are one, and, He who has seen Me has seen the Father.

• May we who are the Body of Christ be washed, cleansed, and daily immerse ourselves in the pure water of the Word of God.

• When liberal thinkers and Christian cults refuse to acknowledge the deity of the Lord Jesus Who, as the second Person of the Trinity, is fully GOD, yet fully MAN, they destroy the one truth that can save their soul, a truth that cannot be compromised: Only a holy GOD is pure enough to pay the price for sin and break its deathly power.

• We are to shine as beacons of pure light in an increasingly darkening world.

• Paul encourages Timothy to flee from evil lusts and to preach the whole council of Christ... and he further expresses his grief over certain men who were distorting the pure gospel of grace and destroying the faith of some by teaching that there was no Resurrection!

• And so Paul spent time opening up the good news of the pure gospel of Christ for a special reason: So that no one will delude you with persuasive argument.

• Paul knew the importance of teaching these young believers the need to be sexually pure, to curb any fleshly appetites, and to abstain from all forms of evil.
• They were to keep their hearts clean, their bodies pure, and their minds on Christ.

• He is the light and life of God and when we trusted Him as Saviour, He filled our human spirit with His Own pure light, and God desires that all His children will grow into spiritual maturity.

• Should not our love for one another reflect that pure, selfless love that the Lord Jesus demonstrated toward us, in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us?

• Indeed, Paul suffered much criticism and persecution from these legalists for holding fast to the pure gospel of grace.

• Victorious living is also connected with having clean hands and a pure heart, which is the product of a 'Christocentric' life and is cultivated when we put on the whole armour of God and remain in fellowship with our Heavenly Father, through regular confession of sin and by walking in the light of His love.

• Let us not make lame excuses for disobeying the Word of the Lord, for we are called to be pure in thought, word, deed, and motive.

• Hebrews alerts us to the many fleshly dangers, sinful temptations, and worldly appetites that can lure a believer away from a life of faithful discipleship into an attitude of discontent, greed, and a lack of brotherly love towards our fellow believers. It gives a series of warnings against unbelief, which comes from a hardened, rebellious heart as well as providing a portrait gallery of dear saints, whose faith we should emulate, for they simply trusted the word of the LORD and in the end, came forth as pure gold.

• From the fall of Adam, every man inherited an empty life, devoid of all that is good and pure, perfect and holy; a life without hope and a life without God.

• Maybe this fig tree had a special significance to honest men of god character or those that are pure in heart... or maybe it was one of many fig trees in Israel under which this servant of God was seated that day.

• The living God is not only the foundation and superstructure of all life, but Jesus is also pure light - eternal light and the source of all light.

• He wanted to know who had a right to enter the kingdom of God, and went on to provide the answer: The person who has clean hands and a pure heart. Only those who have been declared righteous by faith are granted access into the presence of the Lord.
• Those who seek His face, trust His Word, and are pure in heart through the washing of the water of the Word, will receive this blessing.
• All who have clean hands and a pure heart by faith in Him, will be admitted into this holy place.

• As Christians, we are to be pure in our inner hearts and holy in our outer lives.
• And in this Church Age, we are given ample teachings on how to live the Christian life so that we are inwardly pure, outwardly holy, and set apart unto the Lord.

• He was a skilled singer and a poet, and although a man of faith who acknowledged that God is good to Israel and to all who are pure of heart, Asaph became discouraged and found that his faith wavered when he constantly saw how wicked men seemed to prosper and get away with all sorts of evil practices.

• Hebrews outlines another principle of answered prayer, which is a far cry from the 'name-it-and-claim-it' teaching of the Word-of-Faith movement and prosperity teachings: Let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

• Paul did not want these false teachers with their fraudulent 'gospel' to deceive these believers and entice them away from the simplicity of the true gospel of Christ and the pure milk and meat of the Word of God.

• When Samuel had anointed Saul as king, it was his tall stature and good looks that caught the prophet's attention, and yet Saul turned out to be a real disappointment to Samuel, for his heart was not pure before the Lord.

• The riches and poverty, pleasures and passion, beauty and bitterness, fame and shame of this perishing world are short-lived, but the things of the Lord are permanent, pure, good, secure, and of everlasting value.

• What godly lives we would live if it were not for the foibles of others!But this life is fraught with disappointments and disturbances and we are warned that murmuring is the consequence of unbelief, while disputing is the product of a discontented heart which brings in its wake grievances, disease, envy, and sin, as exemplified in Israel’s forty-year long wilderness wanderings when the people murmured against God's wisdom and complained about His gracious provision.God, in His wisdom, knows that patient-endurance, humility of heart, and a soul that trusts in the Lord, does not spring forth from a stress-free life but is the out-working of a man or woman who has received God’s sufficient grace to face any temptation or trial which may happen along the way.Paul knew that a Christ-like character is not birthed from a bed of ease and that blameless integrity and spiritual maturity takes many long years, if not a lifetime, to fully develop as one is tried like silver or honed in a millstone of suffering. God uses the storms, sadness, disappointments, and dangers of everyday life, as well as the difficult people that cross our path, to conform us into the likeness of Christ.Let us, therefore, resist the temptation to enter into murmurings and disputes with one another and let us trust the Lord in all things so that our lives will be a living sacrifice that becomes, to Him, a sweet fragrance and we will become blameless and pure children of God, without fault in this warped and crooked generation.

• His is the peace that is poured into the hearts of all that have trusted in the only begotten Son of God. He will rule with fairness and justice from the throne of his ancestor David for all eternity, and He will establish His kingdom and uphold it with His pure justice and His perfect righteousness.

• This great king of Israel identifies pure motives and godly thoughts combined with gracious words, as the character traits he associates with his trusted friends. 
• Many of his proverbs provide insight into developing a godly character, well-pleasing to the Lord, and here in chapter 22, we discover that the pure in heart and gracious in word are those who command the king's friendship.
• It is not only the presence of a pure heart and gracious speech from which flow the fruit of the Spirit that is so attractive, but the absence of an ugly, bitter soul that spews forth hypocrisy, malicious words, and all that accompanies a proud heart and a selfish, self-righteous soul.
• May we encourage and edify our brothers and sisters in Christ, with gracious words and pure deeds - so we remain in close fellowship with our heavenly Father and become the living testimony to our fellow man.

• Paul puts it this way: Whatever is true, whatever is honourable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.
• Let us choose to focus our mind on that which is right and pure, lovely and of good repute, for all these attributes are the fruit of the Spirit and point us to Christ Who alone is good and true, honourable and pure, righteous, virtuous, and praiseworthy.

• The gospel we have through Paul was given to him directly from the risen, ascended, and glorified Lord Jesus Christ, and Paul's determination to remain true the pure gospel that he received by revelation from Christ, is evident in each of his epistles.

• May we seek after the wisdom that comes from God, which is a pure wisdom in thought, word, and deed.
• May we strive after the wisdom from above, which is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits – unwavering and without hypocrisy.

• The former proclaimed Christ out of selfish ambition rather than from pure motives, hoping to cause Paul distress in his imprisonment... nevertheless, he rejoiced that Christ's name was being spread abroad: And in this, he wrote, I rejoice.

• Titus was to make sure that his appointees were able to both exhort in sound doctrine and to refute those who contradicted the truth of the pure, gospel message.

• If as born again believers we have indeed tasted and seen that the Lord is good, we should be motivated to live as unto the Lord, to thirst after the pure milk of the Word, to abstain for ungodly actions and attitudes, and to walk godly in Christ Jesus.

• As high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is the difference between the fruit of the Sprit with His gifts, for the fruit of the Spirit is LOVE; pure, holy, unconditional, everlasting, godly love.

• During his exile, on the Day of the Lord, John was walking in pure, undiminished communion with God, and hearing the voice of a trumpet behind him, turned to see Who was speaking.
• His presence and posture was reminiscent of the Ancient of Days, described by Daniel: Whose throne was ablaze with flames of fire, and Whose vesture was like white snow; the hair on His head was like pure wool.

• Kingdom citizens should be poor in spirit and pure of heart.

• Heaven and earth will one day pass away, for this world has been contaminated by sin, but the pure words of the Lord Jesus are perfect.
• They are life and light to fallen man and will never, ever pass away; for the Words of the Lord are pure words.
• The commandments of the Lord are pure, enlightening the eyes.

• We are exhorted to have clean hands and a pure heart, and we are to be people who hate evil and grieve over sin so that we can receive His gracious comfort and be a channel of God's solace to others.

• But His Word was discarded, His message was rejected, and His offer of salvation was spurned by fallen men who did not want the pure radiance of His glorious Light to expose their evil deeds of darkness: For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.

• The God of Hope - Oh what a glorious title and beautiful theme for the triune God Who, in singleness of purpose, is pledged to fill us with all joy, peace, love, and hope, when we simply trust in the pure gospel of the Son of His love.

• Although fallen, fleshly, sinful bodies could never enter the heavenly realm, it was through His glorious Resurrection that BY FAITH, we became identified with His clean, pure, immortal, imperishable, resurrected body with the certain promise that we too would receive a pure, immortal, imperishable, resurrected body, like unto His glorious body - a body of flesh and bone which would be animated by the spirit of life in Christ Jesus.

• All is laid bare to His pure eyes and holy presence.

• This false gospel sought the gift in preference to the Giver, and caused these believers to elevate unscrupulous false teachers and glory in their false doctrines in preference to the pure milk of the Word of truth which Paul poured out from his own heart of love.

• Their lives were to be pure and holy in thought, word, and deed.

• We are called to be holy, for the Lord our God is holy, and we should dedicate ourselves to be thoroughly pure for His dear name's sake.

• while evil is to be eschewed and all unlovely behaviours and ungodly attitudes are to be abhorred and hated - with a pure, godly hatred.

• One identifying characteristic of these end times in which we live, is that men and women would always be learning new things but never being able to come to a sound knowledge and pure understanding of the gospel message.

• We need to be increasingly aware of the dangers we are in and the invasive ways ungodly teachings are seeping into the pure gospel of grace.
• May we become increasingly familiar with the pure 'milk' and 'meat' of the Word and pray for discernment to identify and renounce anything that undermines the liberty we have in Christ, which will only bring us into bondage. 

• And everyone who has this hope fixed on Christ purifies himself, just as the Lord Jesus is pure. 
• Indeed, Jesus is the hope of all the ends of the earth, but those of us who walk in spirit and truth and have our hope fixed on Him are purified – in the same way that He is pure.
• Let us hold firmly to this sure hope that is set before us, looking to Jesus - the Author and Finisher of our faith, knowing that those of us who have fixed our hope upon Him, purify ourselves just as Jesus is pure.

• May we develop a teachable spirit, and desire the pure milk and meat of the Word, which is able to make us strong in the Lord - so that we may be a worthy witness to His goodness and grace.

• In his letters, Paul sets out, with clarity, the need for children of God to be pure and blameless in this crooked and depraved generation.

• But we can put on a pretense of holy living and claim to be in pure fellowship with the Lord, while secretly living in fleshly carnality.

• Rather than proclaiming the gospel with the joy and thanksgiving for their salvation and to honour their glorious Saviour, they were selfish, ambitious individuals who had developed a spiteful, contentious disposition. Their motive in spreading the Word was far from pure, for their ministry had developed out of selfish envy and an ungodly rivalry.
• What a contrast in the heart and motive of these two groups of Christian ministers: The former proclaimed Christ out of selfish ambition rather than from pure motives.

• Through His lips poured forth the great wisdom of God, the pure holiness of God, the wonderful grace of God, and the tender compassion of God.

• How precious are the trusting hearts of little children, and how much we can learn from their innocent example of the need to develop a total trust in God and show pure delight in the Lord Jesus Christ, for this blesses the heart of God and honours His holy name. 

• Make your hearts pure, you who are half-hearted towards God and wavering in your faith.

• The mystery of Christ is the pure Gospel message, and the reason it was a 'mystery' is that it had been hidden from previous generations.

• And so, we are encouraged to draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.
• He came to fulfil the righteous requirement of God's Law so that we would not remain under condemnation but be raised up into newness of eternal life.It is with a heart of humility, a spirit of purity, an unblemished conscience, and in full assurance of our hope in Christ, that we have confidence in this glorious invitation to draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.We have been purchased with the precious blood of Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God Who was slain from the foundation of the world.
• It is not our physical bodies that are to be sprinkled with this cleansing stream or immersed in the pure waters of 'separation' - but our inner beings.
• It is not the simple practice of water baptism to which this verse is referring when it speaks of having our hearts sprinkled clean and our bodies washed with pure water.
• It is by faith in HIM that we have been made clean and our bodies have been cleansed with the pure water of the Word.

• As believers, our hearts and motives should be pure before God... for although we may be able to deceive others with deceptive words and deceitful actions... we can never deceive the indwelling Holy Spirit!

• As an apostle of Christ Jesus according to the commandment of God, Paul set out the pure doctrine of Christianity in both his 'church' epistles, and the letters he sent personally to Timothy and Titus who were his true 'children in the faith'.
• Nevertheless, we frequently see him having to address issues that strayed from the things of God which caused many to turn aside from a pure heart, sound doctrine, a good conscience, and sincere faith, into endless fruitless discussions and other futile debates.
• May we be those that hold fast to the pure Word of truth and reject anything that is contrary to sound doctrine, according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God.

• Let us trust His Word of truth, knowing that when He has tested us in His furnace of affliction, we WILL come forth as pure gold.

• He is that gracious Light that streams eternal love into the broken lives of Adam's fallen race, and He is the pure Light - the redeeming Light Who speaks new-life into the one who is dead in trespasses and sins.
• Jesus is able to shine that pure light of truth into the hearts and consciences of everyman who believes on Him.

• May we become so one with our Saviour that like Paul, we consider it pure joy whenever we are called upon by God to face one of life's many trials, terrors, or tribulations, knowing He will use everything, however difficult and distressing, for our eternal good and for the furtherance of the glorious gospel of Christ Jesus our Saviour.

• His wisdom is pure wisdom, holy wisdom, godly wisdom, and eternal wisdom for all Who believe in Him.

• As believers who have trusted Christ for our salvation, we are to develop in our Christian walk and advance from simply taking-in the pure milk of the Word to feeding on the strong meat of everything that proceeds from the mouth of God.

• His Word is true and trustworthy; His Word is perfect and pure, and His promises to us endure from one generation to another.

• The Word of the Lord is pure and righteous altogether, and the Word of the Lord stands fast for ever and ever.
• Let us be prepared to warn of His rod of discipline and the fast approaching judgement of the nations, no matter what negative reactions we receive from others, knowing that Word of the Lord is pure and righteous altogether, and stands fast for ever and ever.

• Paul strongly condemns those that deliberately add legalistic works to the pure gospel of Christ as being bewitched. He considers those that hold to this legalistic teaching to have been placed under a spell of the enemy and even adds that those who insist on adding to the gospel of grace should be accursed.

• May we be pure in thought, word, deed, and motive.

• The radiance of His glory was witnessed by Peter, James, and John, when His face glowed with the brilliance of His glory, and His garments became as white as pure light.

• May we seek to be pure and holy unto the Lord, for God is holy and we are His blood-bought children.

• Paul spoke of the mystery which has been hidden from past ages and generations, but now known to us: Which is Christ in you the hope of glory, and he laboured unceasingly to maintain the pure message of the gospel of grace and to instruct believers in godly living.
• He guarded the integrity of the Body of Christ with a godly jealousy so that we might be presented to Christ as a pure virgin, holy and blameless, without spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing.

• And so at the beginning of his epistle, he calls us to consider the various trials we face as pure joy, and the inevitable difficulties that come our way as a glorious opportunity to rejoice in the Lord, the Rock of our salvation.
• We can seek to battle through in our own strength, wondering if God really cares as the pressure increases until we finally give-up, or we can remember that God is in control, we can rejoice in the Lord and consider it pure joy, recognising it as one of the various trials which God will use to fine-tune our faith, increase our dependence upon Him, develop our Christian character, and bring us closer to spiritual maturity.

• John knew that love for God and love for one another is an essential element of our Christian faith, and he recognised it in this lady's life, but biblical love can often become distorted when formalism, legalism, mysticism, socialism, and other 'isms' are added to the pure gospel.

• His unswerving dedication to preach the pure gospel of God, in spirit and truth, was a demonstration of the indwelling Holy Spirit working powerfully in a consecrated life... so that the excellency of the power and the glory of the message he shared, may be of God and not from man.

• Jesus is full of grace and truth, and John describes the pure words of grace and judgement that flowed from the lips of the Saviour as a sharp two-edged sword that proceeded from His mouth. During the early days of the Church, Israel were subdued under Roman authority.

• If I am pure in heart, then I will see God.
• I want to see God... so I will do this good thing and perform that righteous act, to make sure that I am pure in heart - and then I will see God.
• If my heart is pure, then I will see God, we argue - but we forget that the heart of man is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked.
• The truth is that those who see God... have already been given a pure heart, as a free gift of God's grace, by faith.
• We receive a pure heart, which is acceptable to God.
• The moment that we are saved by grace through faith, we have an assurance that we are part of the group that are blessed by God and will indeed see Him... not because of what we have done to make our hearts pure - but because of what Christ has done for us so that by faith in His sacrificial death and glorious Resurrection, we are given a pure and holy heart - which will see God.
• We cannot create in ourselves a pure heart in order to receive His blessing.
• We are given a pure heart because of our faith in what He has done on our account.
• Blessed indeed, are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.

• His reward was the Lord Himself, and David's heart-desire was that the pure light of God's radiant countenance would fall upon him so that in peace he would both lie down in safety and sleep securely.

• The eternal and holy Son of God became the pure and perfect Son of Man.

• The more we delight in the law of the Lord and take time to genuinely meditate upon the pure, written Word of God, the more we will grow in grace and continue to be transformed into the lovely likeness of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ - to Whom be all praise and glory.

• They should be ready to pass on their wisdom to younger women and act as an example to emulate, encouraging them to be good wives and wise mothers, to be sensible, pure, industrious, kind, and faithful.

• Timothy and others, needed to know that they would soon be the ones who would be entrusted to pass on pure doctrine of Christ, without Paul's support.

• That same perfect Son of man is the true Light that was given by God to shine Light into the darkness of man's soul, and the darkness was incapable of extinguishing the pure Light of God.

• To keep the Christians safe and to maintain pure doctrine, Paul urged the believers in Rome to become increasingly vigilant in doing what is right and to develop an innocence and simplicity towards that which is evil.
• He assured  them that if they remain obedient to the pure gospel of Christ, then: The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet.

• Now flee from youthful lusts, was Paul's serious warning to Timothy, and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, with those who call on the Lord, from a pure heart.
• Only those that eschew evil and seek after good are the ones that have an inner, supernatural peace that flows from God, and enjoy peace with those that call on the Lord with a pure heart.
• Let us earnestly pursue righteousness, faith, and love, and live in peace with those that call on the Lord with a pure heart - for the honour of His holy name, and for our own eternal benefit.

• In His grace, He achieved this through the pure sacrifice of His eternal Son, in our stead.

• On that day we will ALL be clothed in a new, perfect, pure, resurrected body, which will like unto Christ's glorious body, for which we praise and thank His holy name.

• We are to maintain the pure covering of Christ's own perfect purity, for it is only as we perform a practical righteousness in the power of the Holy Spirit that we become impregnable to the fiery darts of the enemy.

• She is permitted to wear fine linen, bright and pure, for the fine linen represents the righteous acts of the saints.

• The mutual love of the eternal Father and His beloved Son is inestimable, bottomless, fathomless, unceasing, unflagging, interminable, constant, and pure.

• He wanted him to follow God's way and teach His children what is righteous and pure.

• He wanted the peace of God to flood each heart and for us to be spotless in thought, pure in word, gracious in deed, and holy in motive, knowing the time we have left is short.

• How different is the wisdom that comes from the Spirit of God, for it is pure and peace-loving, considerate, gentle, and submissive.
• In these increasingly violent days in which we live, let us take the words of James to heart, relying on the pure wisdom of God to lead and instruct us, enabling us to produce good fruit, being considerate, sincere, merciful, impartial, and peace-loving.

• This man knows in his heart that God is good to the people of Israel and to those who are pure in heart, but he seems to be struggling with his faith.
• However, he does not continue to focus on the advantages of the successful sinner while bemoaning the severe disadvantages of those that are righteous, and keep their hearts pure.

• The young Rebekah had kept herself pure in the pagan city of Nahor, and had pursued the qualities of a virtuous woman which bore the fruit of righteousness, as demonstrated in her kindness to the stranger, her willingness to work, and her beautiful disposition.

• The man who is not imputed with sin and speaks no deceitful word, is simply the one who has believed in God's Word, his faith is credited as righteousness, and his lips are commended as pure. 

• He had separated himself from the path of the destroyer and purposed in his heart to keep his thoughts pure and his words honouring to the Lord.

• The huge laver supported by twelve bronze oxen, the ornamental pillars at the entrance, the table of gold, the lamp-stand of pure gold, and many other beautifully fashioned articles were completed, and the Ark of the Covenant was finally brought, with much joy, from the City of David to Mount Zion, just before its dedication on the Feast of Tabernacles.

• He should so conduct himself: That any opponent would be put to shame, having nothing bad to say about us. Speech that is honest and true does not simply refer to the words we say, but to the doctrine that is taught, and Titus was being encouraged to preach the pure Word of truth, and translate it into everyday life, for the God-breathed Scriptures are living and powerful.
• Paul reminded Titus that pure words spoken and sound doctrine taught: Is beyond reproach.
• Similarly, it is not enough to demonstrate godly living, while neglecting the structured delivery of the pure milk and meat of the Word of God.
• May we carry out righteous deeds for God's glory and remain pure in doctrine, dignified in sound speech, and beyond reproach in actions and attitude so that those who oppose us will be shamed into silence, and have nothing bad to say about us.

• It is to make each one of us realise our heart is not clean before God, and that no one is pure from their sin or innocent before Him.

• Solomon used wood and fire to teach a necessary lesson on the inflammatory nature of gossip and talebearing, as opposed to the tranquillity and peace that accompanies the pure words of a righteous man: For lack of wood the fire goes out, is his initial observation which directs his reader towards some wholesome words: And where there is no whisperer, contention quiets down.

• Faith comes by hearing the pure message of truth in the Word of God, the gospel of our salvation.

• They love to quote: To the pure all things are pure, in an effort to condone their ungodly practices, but although they profess to know the Lord, their actions and attitudes deny Him.
• He argues against these legalists with the words: To the pure all things are pure, for Paul knows well that we are not to call something unclean which God has made it clean.
• However, unbelievers who remain dead in their sins or false teachers who distort the gospel for personal gain are defiled, and to them nothing is pure.
• Unbelievers who do not have faith in the Lord, or those that distort the gospel of God and twist His truth for their own ends are defiled in the eyes of God, and to those that are defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure.
• But to the spiritual man all things are pure.
• To those that have been saved by grace through faith and are walking in spirit and truth, all things are pure.

• He would be born into the human race as a perfect Man, a pure Man, an innocent Man; a sinless Man.

• Reverence and respect towards our heavenly Father, a Christlike love towards others, and inner peace, is often identified through the godly works, pure thoughts, and sound speech, that flows through our daily life.

• Sadly, many in Christendom today have brought the pure and undefiled Christian religion into disrepute though false teachings, doctrines of demons, foolish predictions, avarice, and greed.
• Let our hearts desire be to reflect the yearning desire of the ageing apostle Paul, who near the end of his life cried out, That I may know Christ and the power of His resurrection and participate in the fellowship of His suffering, so that our Christian religion may be pure and undefiled, and our relationship with the Lord Jesus become increasingly intimate.

• Paul, like every man, had to come to an understanding that he did not have any righteousness of his own through keeping the Law, but he was imputed with the pure and holy righteousness of Christ simply by believing on Him as his Saviour.

• Christ's sermon was designed to show that entrance into His kingdom did not only depend on good works, but a pure heart and godly motives - none of which are attainable by fallen humanity.

• Rather, they are exhorted to teach that which is good: So that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be sensible and pure, to be industrious at home and kindly to others - being subject to their own husbands, so that the Word of God will not be dishonoured.
• And yet, if every believer were to follow the wise instructions that we find in Paul's directive to wives and women in his various epistles... the Body of Christ would be enriched with godly women who would teach younger ones to exhibit the qualities of the virtuous woman in the book of Proverbs... by encouraging them to: Love their husbands, to love their children, to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the Word of the Lord will not be dishonoured.

• Such sacrificial love demands our complete and undivided love, not as a legalistic requirement but as our own, pure love-offering to the One Who was wounded for our transgressions, bruised for our iniquities, and Who willingly bore the punishment on the Cross for our sins.

• The burden of Paul's heart was to ensure that good men were correctly taught, sound in doctrine, and well prepared to carry forward the pure truth of the gospel of grace, after his death.
• Our behaviour, attitude, actions, and motives should be pure and holy, and should demonstrate the godly wisdom that only comes from above.

• Our words and actions should become a living testimony of a pure heart that is clothed with Christ no matter where we are or who we are with, so that others may see our good works and glorify our Father in heaven.

• There is nothing in heaven above, the earth beneath, or the waters under the earth, that are not governed by the Word of the Lord.  Every Word of God is pure and holy.

• He knew the weakness of human flesh and that each one of us is responsible to keep our body and behaviour pure before the Lord.

• The representative lamb was examined for four days, for it was to be without spot or blemish or any such thing, because the true Lamb that was to be offered up to God as the propitiation for the sins of mankind, would be pure and unblemished and when He was examined for four days, the verdict would be: I find no fault in Him, at all.

• The Word of the Lord is pure, perfect, and cannot be broken.

• And since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.
